The story isn't on hiatus but it will take a lot longer for chapters to be released because school started for me anyways I always have a set standard of at least 9 pages on MS word so the chapters aren't too short I see that happening a lot in many fanfictions and I didn't want you to have the same experiences that's why updates take so long also another thing is I take breaks often when I'm making chapters to refresh my brain

The bodies were being healed to a pristine condition, but they were not resurrected yet as preparations for the experiment were yet to be made in the meantime Ainz had ordered for the NPCs to infiltrate the Military he had CZ apply for the Capital Garrison. There was a reason as to why he picked her it was mainly because if the Capital was as corrupt as they say it was, she would have no problem killing innocent people if she was ordered to. The others like Solution they may be sadistic as to torture the innocents he feared they would have problems taking orders from humans. Others like Yuri had a high positive karma rating which means she would have an issue killing innocent people. So, CZ was the optimal choice as she was neutral and also because she is proficient with a gun. Ainz had sent another team for intel gathering on important figures in the Capital he sent Shalltear and Yuri to act as a Heiress from another country. They were ordered to not do anything to attract attention and that is to make daily reports on the inner working of the empire as well as gather information about Night Raid and Teigus. Seeing as how Night Raid targets nobles who were torturing innocents Ainz has strictly forbidden them from torturing innocents. Right now, CZ was walking on the Street to the Barracks to apply she wore a more casual dress. She was now at the barracks, and she was provided with enough more than enough money to apply. Due to the huge amounts of applicants, the Empire had Implemented a test system how this worked was that 100 applicants were going to fight each other in a battle royale style match whoever was the last one standing will be able to join the military the rest would be rejected. The test would be overseen by Ogre and whoever he deemed fit would be accepted into the Imperial Police. CZ was now in the building she waited patiently until she got called next.

"Just fill out this form and give it back to me. We'll send you a letter when the Military Exam starts" The man behind the desk lazily said.

"Understood." CZ was then given the form it asked for her name, where she was living etc. Her fake Name is Shizu Delta. She filled out the form and gave it back to the man.

After Applying for the Military, it was now in the afternoon CZ was now headed for Lion's Den to meet with Momon. Her room was on the second floor of the building Momon's was on the first. When she was walking through the bar there were men drunkenly catcalling her, but she ignored it. She was now at the door to Momon's room she then knocked on the door.

"Come in" The voice behind the door told her she then opened the door and Momon was sitting on the bed she closed the door behind her and started to kneel.

"Stand." Shizu did as told and stood

"So how did your application go?"

"They said they will send me a letter to when and where the test will take place."

"Well keep up the good work."

"I am unworthy of such praise." Shizu then bowed Down

"Nonsense You are doing this for the benefit of Nazarick."

"Thank you, lord Momon."

"It's just Momon"

"Of course, Momon"

"Good, Now go back to your room and get some rest"

"Understood."

CZ then left the room, and Momon then stood up and also left the room. He was going to the forest Since the Empire had requested for him to hunt and kill a pack of Jackaleos since they have been terrorizing the merchants that were coming to the capital. The reason Momon stayed was simply to meet with CZ and see how she was doing. Momon was walking on the streets as he was walking, he was thinking.

'Can't believe the guy who runs this place is a kid.'

Flashback

Ainz was in his office reading the reports a lot of the time he would just skim through them. Then there were Shalltear's reports so he did the same thing and started reading a little bit of the paper before skimming over it. But when he is reading it, he was surprised.

'What the hell?! You mean the emperor is a kid?!' Reading further Ainz saw that secretly the Prime Minister was controlling him, and he was responsible for the corruption of the empire. Then he started planning on what to do if the Minister found out about the existence of Nazarick.

End of Flashback

Momon was at the gate and started heading out to the forest. Nabe wasn't present because she was ordered to take a break and relax for a while. If the people were able to learn magic what are the chances that someone already knows how to wield it? And that could be a threat to Nazarick and its entirety. Momon had made it to the gate and the guards let him pass and he started walking along the path. Then when he made sure no one was present he took out a scroll from his inventory and threw it into the air and it disappeared in a flash of blue light mid-air

"[Detect Locate Creature: Jackaleo]"

Ainz had a clear image of a Jackaleo, then he knew where to find them. They were about a mile from the road and there were 6 of them. Momon started walking towards where they were, then around halfway there Momon took out a mirror of remote viewing to check the landscape of where the creatures were. He saw a cave that was surrounded by forest another thing to note was that there were no creatures like deers or wolves perhaps they were eaten by the pack. Taking his time Momon was changing the view to the route he would take to the den. There were no obstacles in the route other than trees so. Momon put his mirror of remote viewing back into his inventory and started sprinting to the location. In less than 10 minutes Momon had made it to the location, there he saw the cave and suddenly a Jackaleo pounced from the cave towards Momon. It was suddenly cut in half with his great sword then two more tried to pounce on him, but they were also cut in half. Then three more walked out of the cave one of them was a lot bigger than the other 2.

"So that's the Alpha."

The alpha Jackaleo roared and the other 2 started running towards him. The two Jackaleos tried to lunge at him but before they could attack him Momon grabbed both of them. He then threw a jackaleo at the alpha at high speed and both died. Then Momon crushed the other one in his hand, then he dropped the corpse.

"I really wish that they'd give me more important jobs." This was the type of job the Empire would always give him since he was a mercenary, he had lesser freedom than an adventurer since he was serving the empire.

2 Days later

Shizu was headed to the Arena to participate in the exam. There were many participants in the arena. In total more than 30,000 wanted to join the military. That was how bad the recession is, and everyone wanted to get into the military for their families or loved ones. When Shizu made it to the arena it was packed full of people most of them were in the audience seats and there was a crowd of people on the battleground so there was plenty of space. CZ's orders were to join the military, and do whatever she can to blend and gather intel on teigus and the inner workings of the military. From the crowd, she could see a portable stage and there he saw a large bulky man with one eye.

"Alright you sad sacks of shit do you think you have what it takes to join the empire?!" The man shouted

"Yeah!" The crowd shouted except for Shizu

"Well too bad! Look at yourselves your nothing but a bunch of weaklings and because of that we'll have to weed you out! Now listen here I am appointed as the overseer of this exam! in other words your fate is in my hands." The man announced with a wide grin but the crowd was quiet and did not utter a word.

"Now quit dilly dallying and prepare yourselves the exam starts in 5 minutes!" The crowd then scrambled into the tunnels of the arena.

(Author's note: that this is not the arena where the tournament took place)

Everyone else was eating a quick snack or drinking water or doing weight lifts. Shizu was looking around analyzing her opponents and she found them mediocre. When the 5 minutes passed, they were all set into a circle formation each person was by the wall. And then it started everyone picked a random opponent and rushed towards them.

Shizu was fighting a man which she easily defeated by jumping over him and kicking him on the back. Then another man tried to punch shizu but she grabbed his wrist and before he could react punched his face knocking him down. A man was sneaking up on her back to do a surprise attack but when the man got close she kicked him on the chest which sent him flying.

"Damn this bitch is tough"

"She wont be so tough if we gang up on her"

Then five men started sprinting towards her, the first man tried to punch her but she grabbed his arms and pulled it down then she kneed his jaw and sent him flying. While she was dealing with the first man two more of them both tried to lunge at her but then she turned around and kicked one of them in the face knocking him out. The other one missed his lunge because she dodged it by sidestepping then she grabbed the man and threw him at another one that was trying to sneak up on her knocking them both out. The last one was nervous as he saw that she took out all the others by herself. Then she sprinted towards him he tried to punch her, but she ducked and she did an uppercut knocking him out.

Ogre was watching everything unfold from one of the audience seats and he wasn't surprised everyone was good for being a foot soldier but not as part of the military police except one there was a girl who manages to defeat multiple opponents at once but also not have a single scratch on her. This Ogre grinned. He was going to have a new candidate for the military police.

Shizu kicked a man to the ground, and he was knocked out. Looking around she saw that there were a lot of people knocked out and there were only around 7 people standing. Shizu sprinted towards a girl and kicked him on the side of her on her side which sent her flying. Shizu then sprinted to another man and gave him a punch that instantly knocked him out. Looking around she saw that there was only one other person standing. He was a muscular man who had black hair, brown eyes and he was a tower of a man then he was looking at Shizu like a predator looking at prey.

"I'm gonna beat you up little bitch!"

The man started sprinting at her but before he could punch her, she jumped over him and while mid-air kicked him at the back of his head. Shizu then did a backflip to make a distance between her and the man. The man started sprinting towards her again but this time she crouched and when he was in distance, she did an uppercut that knocked him out and he fell to the ground. Even the man only put up a little resistance before he went down that was how strong she was.

"Well done girl." She could hear clapping turning around she saw that Ogre was walking towards her, and she in turn stood still.

"You're different compared to those weaklings Call me Captain Ogre I'm the Captain of the Imperial Police" Ogre proudly said but Shizu was still silent only nodding

"Normally You'd be a foot soldier but with you're talent that'd be a waste instead you're becoming part of the imperial police under my command" Ogre stated and he started walking away then Shizu followed the man into the tunnels of the arena.

In another part of the capital, there was Shalltear, Currently, she is in a mansion with Yuri. They are to act as a young heiress with one maid from another country. Shalltear was wearing a disguise she had blonde hair, fair white skin, and wore a white dress that was well made, and she wore expensive jewelry to show off her status, but she retained her red eyes. The disguise was actually a cosmetic skin for Shalltear made by Peroroncino. The one she was known for was the Bloody Valkyrie skin, but this was the Albino Princess skin of course that didn't change how big her breast would be. She and Yuri were there for 5 days so she had yet to make a report about night raid or teigus as there is not enough information. She received an invitation to a party she decided to go to the party since it was a chance to gain information. So, she had called the carriage to take her to the party and it took a while, but it arrived.

"Yuri, have you finished all the preparations?"

"Yes lady Shalltear" Yuri bowed

"Excellent"

When they say preparations, it was having shadow demons stay in Shalltear's shadow and when they reached the party it was having the shadow demons attach themselves to other people creating a makeshift information network. When Shalltear arrived at the part there was a huge mansion and a well-kept garden, when she stepped out, they were greeted by a butler.

"Greetings lady Shalltear shall I escort you to the party?"

"No need"

She walked to the well-decorated double doors and opened them to enter. Everyone in the room was still staring at Shalltear. They were amazed by her beauty her crimson red eyes and her golden blonde hair as well as white dress with ocean blue sapphires as pins and her jewelry such as earrings and the like. Shalltear kept walking paying their presence no mind. She went to a butler who had a tray of glasses of wine and took one. She took a sip of it, and she was disgusted by the taste and placed a glass back on the tray. She was overhearing talks from the people about night raid and since Shalltear needed to learn more so she joined the conversation.

"Excuse me what's this night raid about?"

"Oh lady uh.." The man gasped in surprise

"Lady Shalltear Now what is this night raid about?" She answered while also putting a façade

"Oh right you're from another country okay well Night Raid is a group of assassins that possesses teigu and target people in high positions." The other man answered

"I see may I know what their teigu are?"

"Well, I'm not sure about all of them, but I do know some, one of them from the girl in the wanted poster is called The one cut killer: Murasame and it is said to be able to kill its victim in one slice." The man answered he was Interested in teigus so he knows more about them.

"Is that so can you tell me more?" She noticed how he was Interested in sharing his knowledge on teigus so she wanted him to continue

"There is another one called Cutter of Creation: Extase and it is said to be able to cut through anything to the point that armor is useless against its wielder and it takes the form of a giant pair of scissors." As much as She wanted to kill him for being annoying he was the information she needed to make the report

"B-Becareful of Night Raid I heard they managed to infiltrate into a house of a noble and killed everyone there." The other man stated Shalltear gave him a look before walking away, If night raid were to Infiltrate and try to assassinate her Shalltear would have new toys and meals to play with.

The party wasn't interesting for Shalltear it was boring and she didn't want to stay there, but she had to do it because of her job. She was overhearing about another character by the name of General Esdeath and how she managed to wipe out the ban tribe. Shalltear decided to also join the conversation about the general.

"Pardon my intrusion but who is this General Esdeath?" The woman was shocked to see Shalltear of all people coming to talk to them

"O-Oh uh L-lady"

"Lady Shalltear."

"O-Of course lady Shalltear Well general Esdeath is a woman you would want to stay on her good side" The woman shakily said

"Hmm?" Shalltear could beg to differ on that statement

"Well General Esdeath Is the user of the Demon Extract a teigu that allows its user to control ice and she is an absolute force of the empire so much so that countries wouldn't dare to invade the empire because of her presence she is also rumored to be a sadist who loves torturing her victims and is always looking for new techniques" A man said who was talking to the woman

"I see"

Shalltear stayed behind for a while to implant shadow demons on a select few people including the ones she just talked to before leaving. She called for a carriage to take her back to the mansion. When she was in the carriage taking her back to her mansion she was looking out the window and seeing all the lights of the city.

'Lord Ainz will be pleased with this new information I'm sure of it

Shalltear silently congratulated herself for a job well done. Then she made it back to the mansion and when she opened the door she was greeted by Yuri who bowed down before her.

"Welcome home lady Shalltear I hope you had a pleasant experience"

"Oh I did, Make me a golden imperial tea I'll be in my office making my daily report if you need something"

"At once my lady" Yuri bowed down to Shalltear

Shalltear then walked upstairs to make her daily report.

Ainz was in the throne room sitting on the throne bowing before him were Sebas, Cocytus, Aura, Mare, and the remaining Pleiades and the ones standing beside him were Albedo and Demiurge

"It seems like everything is going according to plan how are Shalltear and Yuri?"

"Shalltear has sent her daily report and it seems she has new information on teigus as well as a General Esdeath" Albedo was the one who answered him

"I'll take look at it later now are those humans ready for resurrection?"

"Yes, lord Ainz say the word and we will begin."

"Pardon my impudence my lord but may I ask a question?" Narberal said while bowing down

"Hmm? Go ahead"

"Why would you save these lowly worms in the first place?"

"My first reasoning is to see if humans in this world are capable of magic my second reasoning is to see if there is a leveling system that exists in this world. Cocytus will be the one who will oversee their training and as for magic perhaps mare would be the one who will oversee its progress."

"My deepest thanks, my lord."

"Now Albedo is there anything else for us to deal with?"

"No my lord I believe that is all for today"

Ainz then teleported to his room he immediately laid down on his bed and took a book out of his inventory he started reading it. This was Ainz's only pastime as there are no games or movies here. This room is also where he practices being a king such as giving orders, posture, and speeches.

'Man being an overlord is tough'

Leyasu woke up to see he was in a giant arena looking around he saw other people in mats on the ground some were unconscious some were already awake and were looking around trying to see where they are. Also, another thing to note was that they were already clothed.

'Is this the afterlife? I was kinda expecting clouds and skies'

He looked at himself and he saw he was in peak condition as if he had no diseases or was never tortured. Looking around he saw a familiar unconscious person

"Sayo!"

Leyasu started running towards the girl laying on the mat. When he reached her he immediately put his head on her chest to see if there was a pulse and sure enough he heard it. He started to cry and hugged Sayo tightly then slowly she opened her eyes and was wide-eyed and punched Leyasu

"What the Hell do you think you're doing you, damn pervert?!"

Looking at herself she calmed down she saw that she was back in pristine condition looking around all of them were. She was very confused last she remembered she was being mercilessly tortured.

"Leyasu where are we?"

"I don't know maybe heaven?"

"Haha real funny Leyasu"

"Ah, I see that you are all awake."

Everyone turned to the voice, and they saw a butler walking from one of the tunnels. Everyone was weary of the old man because they were previously tortured by a high-class noble and this butler could be a servant of said noble.

"Oh, it seems that you are weary of me but fear not lord Ainz has ordered that you will not be harmed in any way so rest assured"

"E-Excuse m-me but are we in hell?" One of the men asked very shakily

"No you are not you are still in the world of the living, particularly on the 6th floor of the underground great tomb of nazarick."

"W-What So we're alive?! No way!" A woman said in utter shock

"W-Wait! What do you mean we're underground?!" Leyasu was looking up to see the beautiful starry sky of the floor.

"To answer your question this entire tomb was created by the supreme beings."

No one could say anything to the butler because with their own eyes they saw the people around the being tortured to death. They shuddered at the painful memories they were scared, disgusted, angry, and all sorts of negative emotions. That was how they felt to the entirety of the empire. But more than that what are these supreme beings have the Gods finally answered their prayers and have personally descended into this world?

"You are alive thanks to the power of Lord Ainz"

"H-He has the power to bring people back from the dead?!"

"S-So who is this lord Ainz"

"He is the leader of the 41 Supreme beings and Is our only remaining master I highly advise you to not disrespect him." Sebas said in a very serious tone

"I-Is this Ainz a god?" A woman said with awe in her voice

"He is a being higher than that"

No one said anything because they were Confused and Scared. Then another figure appeared from the tunnels of the amphitheater.

"It seems that most of them is awake woof~"

The humans are once again scared as they sew a maid with a dog's head as her head. All of them were silent and were backing away from her. Sebas decided to speak up to ease the tension.

"W-What are you?!"

"W-What is going on?!"

"Is it gonna eat us?!"

"Like I said before lord Ainz had ordered for us to not let any harm come to you so rest assured." Sebas calmed the crowd of scared people

"W-Why would he save us?"

"Lord Ainz is a very merciful being however there is another reason as to why he would resurrect you. It is to help him make the Empire a better place." Sebas explained to him

"Wait why would he ever need our help if he has that kind of power?" Leyasu asked Sebas

"Lord Ainz wants to rule the empire, not through bloodshed and fear but by taking it over through the hearts of the people, For that he needs a human army if he were to use his other minions it could cause tension and potentially a rebellion." Sebas only relayed part of his master's plan. This was explained to him by Demiurge if Ainz were to use their undead troops it will potentially cause a rebellion against him and he did not want that to happen.

"Wait he's planning on taking over the empire!?"

"No way every other country that tried to invade the empire, their armies were wiped out!"

"And he wants us to fight the empire?!"

*Clears throat*" In order to aid you in your battles Lord Ainz has intended to teach you magic"

"Wait magic?!"

"Like from fairy tales?"

"Well, if he manages to resurrect us who's to say he can't teach us magic?"

"This can't be real though no way magic exists!"

"In 5 hours, lord Ainz will personally come to meet you, In the meantime prepare yourselves, and also Don't Disrespect him."

Sebas told them before he left to go into the tunnels and disappeared. Everyone looked at each other confused they were pondering on what to do. The people started to talk to each other and were introducing themselves to each other this was to calm themselves down and think about their situation.

It was 5 hours later and Sebas came back to announce that Ainz is gonna arrive and all of them were standing to look at the Announcer's podium then they saw Aura and Mare come out and go to the side of the door.

"Introducing the leader of the supreme beings!" Aura announced

"And the Master of the great tomb of Nazarick" Mare announced

"Lord Ainz!" They both announced

When they saw what came out of the door then they saw the incarnation of Death Himself. He was releasing a terrifying aura that made them almost piss themselves. He was releasing [Despair Aura 1] this was the one that caused fear.

"Greetings humans I am Ainz Ooal Gown! And I welcome you to my Great Tomb of Nazarick! Now allow me to reassure you will not become slaves or be used as toys!"

None of them moved a muscle from the sheer terror this being was emitting. Except one Leyasu had a terrified look on his face but managed to pipe up.

"S-So A-Are You going to Invade the Empire!"

'Eh? Where the hell did this come from?!' Suzuki Satarou was surprised then his emotional suppressors kicked in

"Such Disrespect I'll ki-" Aura was interrupted by Ainz by moving his arm in front of her.

"O-Oh, It seems you are still able to speak despite your fears, as a reward I will answer your question... yes I plan on taking over the empire" While talking Suzuki was thinking of his answer speaking, and he had to go along with their conclusion.

There were gasps of surprise and awe from the crowd of people then Ainz started to continue

"You have suffered for so long in the hands of the empire due to its corruption, Heavy taxes, being treated as toys, and many more unspeakable atrocities being committed to people like you don't you want simply to put a stop to that? Don't you just want to fight back? Don't you just want revenge for all the suffering you and your loved ones went through? Well, I can give you the power you need serve me and I will give you the revenge you all so desire Serve me and I will end this hell!"

Everyone was silent until suddenly someone spoke up. Suzuki was making this up as he goes along with his speech.

"That's right! They took away my house!" A man suddenly screamed his fear turned to rage

"They burned my wife and children!" Another man screamed out

"They falsely accused me of rape and took away everything!" Another man yelled

Slowly the crowd was turning against the Empire as they voice out the atrocities committed against them. Ainz's red eyes in his eye sockets glowed even brighter.

"So noisy I demand silence!" Hearing his booming voice everyone shut up. Then Ainz started to speak again

"Pledge your allegiance to me and I will grant you everlasting prosperity and revenge for your loved ones." No one moved a muscle then suddenly one of them bowed down from the bottom of the amphitheater then slowly more started to bow down to him until all the people bowed down before him. Ainz's eyes glowed even brighter

"Very well, First, you must train I will leave Cocytus to be the overseer of your training!"

Then Ainz teleported back to his room. He immediately jumped into his bed and put his face on his pillow. He was only going to the empire to gather information and make a name for himself not take over the empire. He had a lot to think about today and how should approach the situation.
