? POV
Dream….
Not of who you are….
But of who you want to be….
That is one of the few things I remember. How long has it been? A decade? Century? Or perhaps a thousand years have passed since I have been sealed. I still remember the days, still smell the pleasant fragrance of her blue roses, still taste the blood in my mouth. Her beautiful smile is the last thing I have seen, since I plunged my blade through her heart.
I am her knight, her guardian, her sword and shield yet I was the one who killed her in the end. My sweet winter rose, what have become of you? What madness drive you too plunge the world into a never-ending night of darkness, of snow and ice for eternity. What is the reason my queen? Why?
From Icecrown, you have ruled over your people justly. You listened to their pleas and answered their calls of aid. Even me, who was an outsider shipwrecked in your lands, was accepted like a long-lost relative returning home. Despite the initial distrust of your retinues, you still let me serve you. You are the complete opposite of the masters whom I have served, while they are cruel you were kind. When my Golden Emperors took everything from the people and land, you are willing to share it to your them. After I have told you of my past sins, you ignored all of it and cried with me, and listened by my side when I told you the reasons why my brothers and sisters including me betrayed our liege lords. At that time, I knew you have the potential to be a great queen, loved by her people and respected by your equals.
Sadly, such things only happen in an ideal world. I remember the day you were taken, so vulnerable and broken but the look within your eyes have changed. From the soft looking eyes that is full of kindness and love turned into hate and anger. The sweet snow turned into the malevolent winter and your most loyal retainers turned into monstrosities. Through them you brought a generation long winter, thousands if not millions died for it. Still, I stayed by your side hoping for the kind queen to return the days and summer. Alas that did not happen, in the end I left and aided the humans to combat your winter ferocity. I fought with them, even with suspicions and doubts of my loyalty I strived to help them survive. I killed many of the friends who were turned into these White Walkers, they could not believe that the stoic and silent Knight of the Winter Queen will turn his back on his lady.
In the end we were successful, Icecrown was stormed and at the Great Hall we fought. The Knight and his Queen. The humans saw it like how gods fought each other, your ice spears against my snow globe. My ice pillars rang against your ice wall. It was not my ice abilities that ended you, but my blade that stabbed you in the heart. As the light from your eyes left, you smiled once more. Glad that you are free from pain, glad that it was me who ended you, glad that the long night of suffering and death finally ends. From that day, Icecrown is no more, at that fortress where winter fell the sky part to allow light to touch our faces. The last of your forces retreated to Niflheim while the Builder made an icy wall to prevent another event from happening.
As for your body, we buried it deep within the crypts of Icecrown. Only the Builder and I stood vigil and from that time only I remains to guard your resting place. Only I remained as time passes, and the Builder was buried alongside you. His son, named after his father, continue to be a just ruler. I slumbered by your side eager to see you once more in my dreams. The same kind smile gracing your lips.
Wake up….
Wake up Tenno….
My faithful knight….
Wake up….
Ned Stark POV
I stood vigil at my sister's grave as I have done for the past years. Wondering what would have happened if the Silver Prince had not met you at the Tourney of Harrenhal. Wondering if Brandon and father did not die at the command of the Mad King. But it was all in the past, I have a family now and I must protect them. I was glad that Robb have treated Jon as his brother despite his status as a bastard, and for that I am thankful for him. I knew that Robb will grow up to be great lord, prioritizing the lives of his people. As for my lady wife, Catelyn, the less said the better.
A sudden large sound suddenly woke me up from my brooding, it seems that it came from the deeper and older depths of the crypt. Despite my misgivings, something is calling for me to look deeper with the crypts of my home. As I am about to reach the lowest level of the crypt, I saw a tall figure slowly walking towards me. Clad in a seemingly dark armor with gold highlights, it looks to be a knight, but it emerged from where the sound came. "Who are you, ser?" I ask as he stopped in front of me.
"You remind me of the Builder. Is this still the crypts of Icecrown?" the knight replied seemingly ignoring my question to his identity.
"You have not answered my question, ser. Who are you and what are you doing here in the crypts of Winterfell.?
"Winterfell? The Builder seems to be not that great at calling his structures. Nonetheless pleas call of me as Knight of Winter. That is the name or a title I was given by the Winter Queen of Icecrown"
"You bring more questions rather than answers Knight of Winter"
"It would be better if we left somewhere more with light? Years of slumbering at the side of my beloved queen had made me miss the sun on my face"
"Very well, follow me to the surface then…. Knight of Winter. Oh, before I forgot I am Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North" I introduced myself as we walked to my solar within Winterfell.

And when you are dead, the world will my follow. An eternity of winter and snow will reign finally. Our Queen's last wish will be realized her tormenters' children will suffer and their agony will be etched on their faces will forever remain as they turn into ice.
