Chapter 4

Thanksgiving was nice. Melinda's family was everything that Amanda thought it would be. Amanda smiled at the daily texts from Olivia while on break. Melinda's parents drove them an hour back. Amanda had clothes for the colder weather, courtesy of them. She begged them not to, but Melinda's mom told her it was just some Black Friday shopping.

The next morning during the run, Olivia was slower. "Come on, you ate all that turkey and stuffing. Now let's run it off." Amanda was joking, but Olivia couldn't catch her breath to laugh. Amanda knelt down as Olivia huffed holding her knees. "What's wrong?"

Olivia shook her head. She stood up and felt her head spinning, "Amanda, catch me!" Amanda reached out and then Olivia collapsed.

Olivia blinked her eyes and Amanda and Melinda were standing over her. Amanda looked pissed. Olivia looked at the nurse and hoped she didn't tell her secret. She was wearing a hospital gown. "Alex, she's awake."

Alex came running in with the doctor. She whispered to Olivia that they didn't know. "Hey you two, give them a minute. Let the doctor check her. Alex walked them out and Olivia saw the worry on Amanda's face. She had to tell her the truth.

The doctor came out and everyone went back in. Olivia looked better. Her color was back and she was sitting up. After they sat, talked, and laughed Olivia explained she had to stay the night. "Amanda, will you stay the night? I don't like hospitals." Amanda looked at Alex wondering why she didn't ask her. Alex hugged her and said she would pick them up tomorrow.

The nurse brought them food, a shirt, and blankets for Amanda. Olivia sighed, "I like you." Amanda smiled and said she appreciated their friendship. Olivia laughed, "No, I mean I like you like you." Amanda smiled. "Don't smile, not yet." Amanda frowned. "I'm pregnant." Amanda's eyes went right to her belly. Olivia had been wearing bigger shirts, but it wasn't obvious.

Amanda wondered what this all meant and she was upset. "So why tell me you like me? Why didn't you just say you and Johnny were back together. Are you moving to LA or something?" Amanda pouted after running the questions.

Olivia slid over, "Come here!" Her tone was strong." Amanda walked over to the bed still pouting. Olivia patted the bed. Amanda sat down and Olivia pulled her in her lap. Amanda fought it worried about her baby. "Relax and stop! I'm fine and so are they." Olivia held her, "Johnny doesn't want them or anything to do with this. I swear I took my pill everyday, but he's pissed. I didn't tell you I like you because I expect anything from you. I just needed to get it out."

They laid there for a few minutes in silence. "Liv, I like you like you too." Amanda reached to touch her belly. "Liv, you said they are too." Amanda looked up and saw Olivia's face as she told her it was twins. After the shock and Olivia's release, Amanda was stuck to her like glue.

Amanda explained Gillian was covering for her job. She had taken off time helping Olivia. Amanda watched her face and knew Olivia was embarrassed. She helped her in bed, gave her the meds, and tucked her in. Alex was her best friend, but she stepped back and watched what was happening. Amanda turned to Alex, "Are you watching her over the winter break or me?" Alex saw her chance to get even for Brian Cassidy even though she totally had fallen for him, "She's all yours."

Olivia watched Amanda sit on the edge of the bed. "Amanda, I'm okay. You don't have to watch me." Amanda still didn't move. "Do we need to talk about anything?" Amanda was quiet and that worried Olivia. Olivia wasn't that much older than her, but Amanda was a kid.

Everyone did amazing and finished out the semester. Amanda gave Melinda and her parents their Christmas gifts she purchased for them. They smiled, "Amanda you shouldn't have." She wanted to and she was in a good place now. She had scholarships for the spring and a nice paying job.

Melinda told her parents she would be right down. "Amanda, I need some advice?" Amanda smiled. "I want to invite Fin to meet my parents over break. What if they flip out?" Amanda told her to go for it, because she was doing everything right and her grades were top notch. "I have to grow up sometime, I guess." Amanda told her not to be scared. Melinda grabbed her bag, "What about you and Liv?"

Amanda shook her head, "She's not into me. She thinks I'm a kid and she's about to have two in May. We're just friends." Melinda laughed and told Amanda for someone so smart she didn't know anything. "I'll see, but no promises. Text me."

The dorm was empty and quiet. "Liv, are we leaving?" She checked every room and made sure things were unplugged and locked up. Olivia grabbed her bag and headed to the parking lot. Amanda smiled at the only car in the parking lot. "This is your car, a black Mustang?" Olivia laughed. "Can I drive?"

Olivia really laughed, "No! Get in!" Amanda pouted. "This is probably going to be parked once I drive it. My belly is getting bigger." Olivia pulled up to the keypad and Amanda looked around. "What? I did tell you my grandmother was a judge. She left me everything. Don't look so shocked."

Amanda was out of sorts in the fancy Manhattan apartment. "You don't act like you grew up with money."

Olivia explained her grandmother in more detail. "She beat my butt if I acted badly or bragged. She didn't play around. I loved her for it."

They had a month off and it was nice. They put up a Christmas tree and Alex's family invited them over for Christmas Eve to spend the night. On December 23rd Amanda passed Olivia a box. "That's your Christmas gift. Well the one I don't want you to open around anyone." Olivia waved saying she didn't have to do that. Amanda rolled her eyes and Olivia warned her.

Olivia unwrapped it and saw an ancestry kit. Amanda watched her face, unsure if she wanted to follow through, "You spit in the tube and send it off." Olivia looked at the box. "You don't have to if you don't want to."

Olivia smiled, "This is sweet Amanda." She opened it and saw a tube and a swab. "Okay Ms. Forensics, are you helping me?" Olivia spit in the tube as Amanda watched her. Olivia thought something really dirty while looking at Amanda watching her.

Amanda helped and swabbed her jaw. She put it in the tube. Amanda labeled everything and packed the box. "Only thing now is to drop it off." Amanda wanted to kiss her, but she didn't instead she said goodnight.

Alex's family was everything Olivia described, amazing. They had a fun Christmas Eve, Christmas morning gifts and breakfast, and a lovely Christmas dinner. They were also invited to watch the ball drop on New Year's.

When they returned to Olivia's place Christmas night, they showered and headed to their separate rooms. Amanda knocked on Olivia's cracked door to thank her. She saw Olivia bare back as she slid on her night shirt. "Come in!"

Amanda smiled, "Thank you for a great holiday." Olivia pulled the bedding back. Amanda stepped in a little more and looked around her room. "Are you going to live here when you have the babies?"

Olivia walked around the bed, "Yeah, I won't be an RA anymore, but luckily, I'll only have a few classes left to practice with patients." Olivia had a plan. "Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?" Amanda thought about the clothes, the new laptop, and money, but she wanted something else that she knew she couldn't have. She couldn't believe she received so much love from so many people that weren't her family. It was almost overwhelming.

She nodded, "Yeah." Olivia knew she was holding back. And asked what it was she was missing. Amanda sighed and ran to kiss her. She placed her lips on Olivia's and they were softer than she thought.

It was a dream and it was only getting better as Olivia's tongue parted her lips and slid wrapping her tongue around hers. Olivia pulled back slowly, kissing her lips gently. "Now do you have everything you want?"

It was definitely enough. After the new year they still had a couple of weeks before the 2nd semester. They had gotten close and kissed several more times. With the kisses came some hand movements, but it was all over the belt and over clothes.

They were both cuddled in Olivia's bed, Amanda loved being in her arms. They had known each other since August, but she wondered if it was too fast. "Liv, what are we doing? I mean when we go back to the dorm, I can't be in your bed. You have the babies and I know you think I'm a kid."

Olivia held her, "Amanda, I'm not trying to hide you. What do you want? We have options. We can take it slow, go out on dates, or go back to what we were when we left. That's why I haven't." Olivia stopped short of finishing.

Amanda stayed in her arms and looked up, "Why you haven't what?" Olivia hesitated, every time they made out, Olivia wanted more. She wanted Amanda so badly. She loved her and fell for her more every day.

Amanda jumped up frustrated. "Fuck you Liv. You treat me like a kid or something. Just say what you fucking want!" Olivia jumped up and pushed the door shut stopping Amanda from leaving. Amanda turned around and faced her. She was pinned by Olivia's arm and the door. Amanda had never been scared of anything, but she was now. "Are you mad?"

Olivia narrowed her eyes, "Yeah, you're definitely not a kid." Olivia laughed at her. "I love you and yes I'm pissed that you're talking to me like that. That won't happen again." Amanda heard her say she loved her. "But since you started, I'll finish it."

Olivia kissed her hard and Amanda's back hit the door. "I need to know what you want, that's why I haven't fucked your brains out." Olivia waited for her response. Amanda was younger and she wanted to follow her lead.

Amanda was shocked, "Ohh." She blinked those adorable blue eyes. "I've never been in love. I've never really had people love me. I know Melinda does and her parents, maybe even Alex too." Amanda swallowed hard, feeling all of Olivia's tension around her. "Your love feels different than anyone else's." Amanda just shrugged. "Liv, I love you. I have since we met."

Olivia led her to her bed and they laid down facing each other. Amanda touched her belly, now swollen. "Amanda, I do love you and I do think you love me. For you to say it knowing about these babies, not too many people would choose this."

Olivia wanted her to be sure. "We should wait and keep working on getting to know each other." Amanda pouted and those cute lips puffed out. Olivia kissed them. "Don't worry, it means we have a lot of making out to do. Hey!" She kissed her lips, "We'll figure it out. I promise."
