Chapter 5

Olivia and Amanda took the next couple of months getting to know each other more. Some of it was nice and some not so nice. The friendship part was cool but between Olivia's unusual mood swings with crazy hormones raging and Amanda's immaturity they struggled. It also didn't help that no matter how hard Amanda tried to sleep with her, Olivia always stopped it.

Amanda sat in Olivia's chair and pouted. Olivia laughed, her moods had stabilized. "You know I'm right. You hold everything in and then you blow up. What did I do?" Amanda narrowed her eyes at her. She had been pissy all week. "Spill it Amanda, we have our spring break trip planned to Pennsylvania in two days and I don't feel like having you pouting the whole time."

Amanda did just what Olivia said she always did, she blew, "You invited them. How come it can't just be us. Alex has been stuck to us like glue since she broke up with that asshole! And Melinda needs to get over it. She's being immature. Fin didn't even really do anything. " Olivia giggled because that was the pot calling the kettle black. Amanda huffed, "Hmmphhh!"

Olivia sighed, if this was Amanda now, what would she be like in two months with the babies. She straddled her lap. Amanda tried to fight it, but Olivia took her hands and placed them on her belly. "You're jealous? You have me. You have all of me. You have my attention. You have my love. Jealousy doesn't look good on you. They are our friends Amanda and they both have had break ups."

Brian and Fin had screwed up and tried to get them back but the girls were stubborn. "Why don't you talk to Melinda and I'll talk to Alex. Maybe we can get them to bring the guys for a 2nd chance." Olivia kissed her and she smiled. "Hey, at least I know you love me." Olivia wanted to sleep with her, she was going to, but her doctor advised her not to. She was young and carrying twins, there was a risk. Amanda finally smiled. "Good, now that our argument is over, look what came today. Olivia pulled up her computer.

Amanda smiled, "Your results!" Ancestry sent her the DNA results. "Wow! Any matches? Are you excited?" Olivia was silent. "Liv?" Amanda turned and Olivia was sitting on the bed holding her belly.

Olivia looked up, "Amanda, I'm scared. What if I do find them and they don't want me or I don't know." Olivia looked so sad. Amanda thought Olivia was so strong and didn't think anything could break her.

Amanda realized she may have pushed Olivia to do something she didn't want to do. "Liv, what if they do want you?" Olivia told Amanda to look. Amanda clicked on the matches. She sorted them, some were long distance cousins. "Okay, I'm pretty good with forensics, but this does everything for me." She typed and clicked. "So the more CM you share the closer the relationship."

Olivia watched her and listened. She even told her maybe her job should be something like that. Amanda shrugged and stopped. When she stopped clicking and remained frozen it scared Olivia. "What? Amanda! What?"

Amanda turned around, "I know your dad's name. Joseph Hollister." Olivia looked at the screen and saw his face. She had his hair and eyes. Olivia grabbed the laptop and Amanda pulled out her phone. She typed his name into 411 as a search. Then she Googled his name. "Liv, he's a prominent businessman in New York. His company works in food distribution." Olivia looked at the information and shook her head.

Amanda clicked on the message button, "Let's message him." Olivia shook her head. "Well Liv, if you can see you're a match, so can he."

Olivia agreed and Amanda typed. "Mr. Hollister, My name is Olivia Benson. My mother was Serena Benson. I believe with the information I'm seeing, you are my father. I don't want to disrupt your life in any way, but if you're interested you may contact me." Amanda typed Olivia's cell number and typed her name. Then she clicked send before she changed her mind.

Amanda was on a roll so she called Brian and Fin and told them to get their ass in gear, apologize, and go heavy with flowers. She climbed in bed and held Olivia. Usually Olivia held her and she loved being in her arms, but right now Olivia needed the love. She stroked her belly. "Liv, when you have them, what am I going to be?"

Olivia smiled, "Well, I don't want to force you into marriage or anything, but I don't see you leaving me. What do you want to be?"

Amanda smiled, "I want to be your girlfriend and like their other mom. I want us to be a family. Is that weird because we haven't even had sex or anything."

Olivia kissed her and told her sex didn't make a relationship. "I told you that I love you." Amanda kissed her back, she loved her too and had told her many times since Christmas. Olivia's phone rang and they both saw unknown number. Olivia sat up, "Hello?"

It was the first time she heard her father's voice. "Olivia, this is your dad." Olivia cried and said hello again. "Sweetheart, I'm so sorry." Joseph said he wanted to meet in person.

Olivia agreed, "Ummm, dinner sounds perfect. Can I bring my girlfriend? She's the reason I found you." Olivia was worried he would react the same way as her mother, but she wasn't going to hide Amanda because of fear. Amanda stood with her. He was excited and said of course. Olivia had one more blow though. "Thank you for that. I also don't want you to be shocked. I'm 7 months pregnant with twins." Olivia looked concerned at Amanda.

Joseph eased her fears, "What? I'm going to be a grandpa. Twins run in our family. I have a twin sister. Your aunt Lucy will be so excited." Olivia smiled hearing she had an aunt. "Well, I'll see all 4 of you at 6."

Olivia looked at herself in the mirror. Amanda watched her turn and hold her stomach. "Great, this is how I meet him. I'm a blimp." Olivia frowned. Amanda hugged her from behind and told her to stop. This wasn't Olivia. She was strong and confident, always.

Amanda kissed her, "I think you're just nervous. I'm sure he's going to love you. And you're not a blimp. Geez Liv, you're carrying two babies and the only thing that's different is your belly. Olivia was very health conscious and worked with her doctor on an exercise plan. She looked amazing.

They arrived and the waitress pointed to the table. Her father waved and they walked over slowly. "Olivia!" Her dad hugged her tight and Olivia cried. "Hey, don't cry. I don't want you to be upset." He winked at her. "You must be Amanda. Come here I'm a hugger." Amanda hugged him. She wasn't used to family and being close. "Please sit."

They all took a seat. They ordered some drinks. "I don't drink alcohol and obviously you aren't, but Amanda, feel free." They all ordered water and Joseph ordered a few appetizers. "That gives us time to look at the menu and chat." They looked and decided and when the waiter brought the waters, they ordered.

Joseph asked about her life. Olivia told him about her mom and all the bad. She shared the love of her grandmother. It made him feel bad that her life was bad because of his mistakes. He came from a great family and if he would have known, he would have been grounded for life, but they would have loved her and helped Serena.

They paused while the appetizers arrived. "So Olivia I need to be honest with you. I don't drink because I was drunk the night I slept with your mom. I was 16 and dumb. We didn't even go to the same school. When I woke up I had one hell of a hangover. My friends filled in the blanks. I didn't even know your mother's last name."

He hung his head with embarrassment. "I changed after that night. I went to different high schools, Serena was an unusual name. When I found hers, they told she wasn't there anymore. I blame myself. I was just looking for her to apologize. I didn't even think she was pregnant."

Olivia grabbed his hand, "Please don't. I'm just glad I get a chance to get to know you now. I wish you could have known my grandmother, she's the reason I'm doing so well." Olivia held her stomach, "I won't call my babies a mistake even though they weren't planned. She held Amanda's hand, "We're going to love them."

They ate their dinner and continued getting to know each other. Joseph wiped his mouth and took a sip of water. "Well, I've told my family about you all." Amanda pointed at herself. "Yeah Amanda, even you. My daughter loves you. I could tell that over the phone." Olivia smiled hearing him say daughter for the first time. "I'm not trying to hide you. I wouldn't have even at 16. I wasn't raised that way."

He pulled out his phone. "These are your grandparents. They live in the Hamptons now. I'm named after my dad. They call him Joe as his nickname and my mom is Margaret."

Olivia looked up, "Wait what?" She smiled, "My middle name is Margaret." Olivia looked at them and saw the resemblance. Joseph laughed and explained when they started the drinking game that eventually led to them getting smashed, one of his friends said Joe and Margaret would have his ass. He remembered Serena asking who and he explained it was his parents. He thought it was nice of her giving that middle name to Olivia.

Joe moved to the next photo. "This is your Aunt Lucy, you look like her. She's a pediatrician, divorced, and has no children." He explained she wasn't able to have any and it strained her marriage. "This is my wife Sharon and your 15 year old brother Simon." Olivia smiled. "Oh don't smile, this one gives me a run for my money. Your grandmother says he's my payback." Olivia smiled hearing that her family wanted to meet her. "What are you guys doing this weekend? We could all go to the Hamptons and meet everyone."

Olivia bit her lip, "Oh we're on spring break and Amanda and our friends planned a trip to Pennsylvania."

Amanda jumped in, "Liv, we could hold our trip. This is more important." Olivia worried about Alex, Brian, Melinda, and Fin.

Joseph really didn't want to wait, "Hey, don't worry at all. We have tons of space and your grandparents would love to have guests for the week. What else is better than the beach anyway?"

Olivia agreed. When they left her dad said he would send a van for all of them to drive since Olivia couldn't fly. "Dad?" Joseph smiled wide hearing her say it for the first time. "Thank you."
