CW: Omegaverse

Eraser Head and All Might had heard of each other even before meeting.

Well, who would have never heard of All Might? He had fought his way to be the number one hero of Japan. He was on everyone's lips, always presented on television after doing his job. Even if Eraser Head wasn't one to keep tabs on who was the rising heroes of the moment, he couldn't have missed this man.

The surprising part would have been All Might knowing about him. Eraser Head wasn't very known and had debuted only a few years before. He was doing a good job, or at least as good as he could do. Yet, he wasn't one to stay for the journalist and the camera crew when the job was done, always sneaking away. He was simply doing his job, it wasn't worth passing on television for it. Yet, sometimes he was still stuck to do so and it was never good experiences for him.

So they were already aware of who the other was, having also already seen footage from one another. Still, things only clicked in place when they met in person in a battle against a villain who was causing problems.

Eraser Head would have believed he had hallucinated this spark if it wasn't for the change in the other pro hero eternally grinning face. It was there only for a split second, but it was there. An expression of surprise and worry, as if someone had stumbled onto his deepest secret. He clearly had felt it too.

When everything was done, both of them would have liked to talk, despite none of them knowing how to start, but journalists were already coming running to the scene. It wasn't the time nor the place to talk about it. The underground hero was already leaving through an alleyway, having already made sure the police was taking care of the villain.

As calm as he tried to stay, he still couldn't believe it. All Might, the one everyone was putting on a pedestal as a hero, the one everyone was praising, the number one hero, the Symbol of Peace.

He was an omega?

Not that it was a problem to him, he couldn't exactly care less, it was just hard to believe. He always had thought he was a beta, at least it's what the media and himself were saying. And the problem wasn't even learning about this, it was that spark he had felt, he really wanted to ignore it, but he knew it would be impossible.

He was going to try and put this aside, trying to get back on his patrol. He still had easily two hours to go and he didn't want to be distracted. Yet, upon entering another alleyway, he saw his path being suddenly blocked. He was surprised when he felt something keeping him from attacking, looking up to see All Might.

The man was clearly trying to keep on his grin, yet his eyes were showing very different emotions. Too many things seemed to be going on in him, Eraser Head already starting to feel them, making him feel uneasy of this sudden change.

He had never expected to have a fated one, nor to actual bond with anyone in his life. He would have been okay being alone. So all this was too much for him, and clearly, it was the same for the other man.

"Greeting Eraser Head" tried the pro hero, "I was wondering if I could borrow some of your time?" he then asked. The underground hero looked to the side, thinking about it. He was still working right now, was still too surprised by this turn of event and this was clearly not the best place to talk about it.

"I currently am still working... and I doubt this is the best place to talk," he pointed out, before sighing as he passed a hand through his messy hair. "But we can meet once I'm done, like this we will have all the time needed to talk about... that," he said, staying vague about it. He thought a little about where to meet him, and immediately crossed the idea of going somewhere public, too risky.

"Can you remember an address?" he asked, only to see him take out his phone. Well, this would do he supposed. He then gave him a street corner near where he lived, not wanting for him to wait at his door and attract people attention on him. "I'll be done in two hours, just wait for me there," he stated, turning on his heels ready to go back to his patrol.

He could probably have just stopped his patrol there for the night and it wouldn't have changed much. The remaining of the evening went without any troubles, so he didn't even have something to think about.

As he was on his way home, he found out that All Might had indeed arrived earlier than needed. He did well to not give him his apartment address directly. At least he was wearing more casual clothes instead of his hero costume, it was a little more discreet, or at least as discrete as someone as large as All Might could be.

He was greeted again, the man seemed a little more at ease than before. After greeting him too while passing next to him he made a sign to follow him, not stopping in his track. He was tired of his day, especially since he only had recently been switched from night patrol to day ones. He was simply ready to eat some leftovers and go to sleep, yet he couldn't even do the latter one.

"Hope you don't mind me eating," he said once he closed the door behind them, taking off his shoes. "Of course not, you must eat to stay healthy" assured All Might, following him back to the kitchen. As Eraser Head was heating his leftover and making coffee to help him stay awake, All Might started looking around a little.

The place was clean, although there wasn't much to make the place a mess. There wasn't much decoration to see, but he didn't have time to look at them more since the man was already bringing back why he was there. "So, you wanted to talk".

"Yes! I was really surprised earlier because of... you felt it too right?" he asked, wanting to make sure. He only received a nod as the underground hero was finishing preparing his coffee, coming back with his mug and plate. "I wanted to make sure you wouldn't tell other, no one knows about it".

"I figured" commented Eraser Head, not looking up from his plate, "I wasn't going to do so anyway, too troublesome and it would eventually affect me too if I did" he stated. He would have loved to just put this new discovery at the back of his mind and never think about it, but they didn't have such luck.

"I also wanted to know what we were going to do about it, you must know this is not something we can exactly get rid of?"

Of course, he knew it wasn't just something they could ignore. It was just weird to think about acting on something like this when they barely knew each other. And to not help, All Might was looking nothing like an omega, Eraser Head could still barely process he was one.

"And you want to act on it right now? I'm sorry to tell you, but even in those circumstances I'm not ready to mark someone without knowing them" he explained. "Of course! I wasn't expecting for it to happen right now, I just thought we could at least get to know each other to at least try" suggested the hero.

"If we are going to get to know each other, at least drop the fake smile," asked Eraser Head as he was finishing his diner. It was making him uncomfortable to see him always smile so widely to him instead of showing more genuine expression. The man seemed surprised, but did drop his usual grinning face, he was still smiling, but at least it looked more natural.

"Sorry, it has become a habit" he explained, relaxing a little when he understood the man was ready to get to know him. "Then I guess we can start with presenting ourselves?" he suggested, before extending a hand towards him, "I am Toshinori Yagi".

Eraser Head looked down at the hand, before reaching above the table to shake it, "Shota Aizawa" he presented before taking back his hand and sipping some coffee.

Aizawa ended up being surprised by how the man was. He wasn't sure what to expect from him, but it wasn't exactly what he ended up learning. Yagi wasn't as fake as he thought he might be, because there was no way he could be as he was on television. He wasn't as full of himself as he would maybe have thought he would be, as unfair of a judgement as it was. Many popular heroes seemed to be, he had simply assumed.

He learned that he was really kind-hearted and really wanted to help people out. He was also putting a lot of attention into details, noticing when Aizawa was even slightly injured and making sure he was eating well. It was really weird to have someone put this much attention on him. He had gotten used to Hizashi doing so, but it wasn't really the same thing.

On the other hand, Yagi wasn't sure what to expect from Aizawa. He couldn't really find anything about the man and he looked to be really cold to everyone when he was in front of cameras, so he wasn't sure. Yet he learned that despite looking cold, Aizawa wasn't really like that. He seemingly just didn't like the media, which was understandable, and wasn't the most talkative person either. But he wasn't as harsh as journalist seemed to make him look like. He was just doing his job the best he could, with no distraction.

Learning more about him throughout the weeks really changed this idea. He was even surprised when he found Aizawa taking care of strays at his balcony when he went to see him. He seemed to really like these cats.

They were both really enjoying those late-night conversations or early morning breakfast before Yagi really needed to go to work. Aizawa who would have rather live his life without anyone was warming up to the idea of being with Yagi. He was really far from what he would have thought and it was really nice being with him, he couldn't say that of many people.

Even working together was doing fine when they were running into one another. All Might was filling in where Eraser Head couldn't always do great. His quirk was good to stop non-mutant quirk, as agile as he was at using his capture weapon and as strong as he was, he couldn't reach the physical ability All Might had. Mixing both of their quirks was helping.

The only down point was that the media were nearly following everywhere All Might was going, but he was always distracting them and dealing with them so Aizawa could leave before being bothered.

"I really don't understand how you can deal with them all the time" admitted Aizawa as he was drinking his coffee. "And I don't want to sound negative, but I think you accustomed the idea that it was okay to follow heroes around and create a popularity race for new heroes" he pointed out. He wasn't sure sometimes how to touch some subject, he wouldn't change his opinion because of fate, but he didn't need to be harsh either.

"Did I?" asked Yagi, surprised by his words. He had never really noticed it, his own popularity had grown with time and the media had simply followed. But as he thought back to it, he could remember how it was when he debuted. Sure the media were talking about them, but it was never to the point where some heroes were treated like celebrities. He looked down after realising that, "I suppose I might have done that" he admitted with a sorry smile.

Aizawa was surprised by the sudden feeling Yagi had, he didn't say that to make him feel down about it, it was just to point out something he noticed. He wasn't blaming him for that, the journalists were the one to be blamed for being the way they were. "Don't feel sorry, you didn't really cause that, they just got comfortable because you are so kind" he tried to cheer up, unsure if his attempt really helped.

Yagi looked up, seeing the underground hero sipping his coffee as he was looking away, feeling unsure if he did well. He was obviously not used to this kind of thing and seemed uncertain on how to act by moment. This made the blond smile, understanding that he was trying to reassure him on that subject. "But the positive is that I can take care of them while you go away" he pointed out, making the other one smile a little. "I won't complain about that part" he admitted.

To the surprise of Aizawa, they even managed to go on dates. At first, he was feeling a little uncomfortable at the idea of Yagi being the one taking him out to expensive places. When going there he didn't have much of a choice but to rely on him to pay, since he could barely pay his own meal if he wanted to be able to eat at all for that week. He knew Yagi was making enough money from being the number one pro hero and being as efficient as he was, but it was still a little hard for him to not be able to really pay for himself. It was also a little hard to dress more properly when he had but one proper suit that Hizashi had forced him to get, he wasn't used to dressing up more properly.

But he would lie if he said he didn't like the private room they had just so they could be alone and unbothered by anyone else. They both knew it would stir up the media if they were found, especially since they didn't seem to have any connection out of a working one.

Yagi had picked up rather quickly that those more expensive places were not putting the underground hero at ease, despite trying to hide it. So he decided to go for places that seemed a little more familial and cheaper, yet where they could still have a private room. It had shown immediate success and Aizawa seemed more himself like this.

The blond was a little more old fashion when it came to dates, but Aizawa supposed it was due to him being older than him. The underground hero wasn't like that, he would take him late in the night to small restaurants that one would miss if they didn't pay attention, go on late walks and talk about anything, sometimes stopping at a coffee shop to sit down and talk as they were alone. He was clearly much more at ease in more common places, and feeling how Yagi seemed to also enjoy his time reassured him to see it was enough.

It was after one of those nights out, as Yagi was taking him back home despite not needing to be escorted back, that he finally risked himself to kiss him. Aizawa had been taken aback, not expecting for the blond to make such a bold move, but he didn't complain, enjoying it. He had dragged him into a near alleyway, stealing another kiss from him with a satisfied smile on his lips when he saw how flustered it had made the man.

What were weeks of trying to learn about each other became a couple of months, somewhat forgetting why they had started to meet regularly in the first place. Maybe fate wasn't such a bad matchmaker, they were really doing well together. Aizawa shouldn't have judged this situation too quickly.

"Shota, can I ask you something?" asked the tall blond, surprising the underground hero by the use of his name, yet making him smile at it. The man was always trying the water to see what was good or not as if scared to say something bad. He supposed that after so much time they could start using their given names. He hummed as a reply, working on putting their take out in plates so they could eat.

"I-I think things have been going well... and I found myself really enjoying my time with you, I am always excited and looking forward at the idea of our meeting, even on days where you are too tired to really talk I enjoy simply being by your side".

Shota wasn't sure where he was going at first, then it fell into place when Toshinori kept on rambling about the good times he had with him and how he appreciated being with him. He stopped what he was doing, turning around to look at the blond, only to see him looking away, a little flustered. "Yes?" he asked when the hero stopped talking, feeling uncertain about something.

The underground hero sighed silently, walking to him, pushing the table a little so he could stand in front of him, knowing he wouldn't be able to move the chair he was sitting on. "Yes?" he asked again, being patient with him, knowing it was probably not something easy to ask, but he didn't want to rush him and assume what he was about to ask.

"Would you make a bond with me?" finally asked Toshinori, looking back up at him, scanning Shota's expression to see his reaction. "Well, if you are sure..." that you want to have me. The man didn't really finish his sentence, unable to chase away that small feeling of not being enough for him. Toshinori was the number one hero of the moment and was loved by everyone. He was but an unknown hero who didn't have much to his name. He didn't mind being an underground hero, he just felt like something with him might not be enough for the omega.

As if Toshinori could read him, he suddenly grabbed his hands, making him jump slightly as he wasn't expecting that. "Of course I want you" he exclaimed, before getting flustered at the way he said it, looking away, "Don't think so lowly of yourself Shota, you are a wonderful person" he added.

This did help to put back some confidence into Shota, making him smile softly. He reaches to touch the man shoulder, slowly sliding towards his neck. "I just wanted to make sure, we can't go back afterwards" he explained, even though it was obvious Toshinori knew about that. He received a soft and gentle smile from him, feeling himself being pulled closer as the blond looped his arms around his waist. "I wouldn't ask if I wasn't sure of it".

Yes. They both were certain that it would be a good choice, they both couldn't wait to fill this feeling of needing the other one to be theirs.

The pain and the taste of blood couldn't outweigh the feeling of satisfaction they both felt afterwards.

"Sho, did something good happened recently?" asked Hizashi after taking a good look at his friend. Shota looked up from the menu he was looking at, arching a brow at his sudden question. "I don't know, you just... look more relax and happy, hell even the bag under your eyes seems to have lessened, you look more healthy, I can see you've been eating better lately" he stated, only stopping when the waiter came to take their order.

"I started noticing it a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't as striking as right now" he admitted, "So I was wondering if something good happened, did you got a cat or something?" he tried to guess. The guess was fair, yet it was very far from what it really was.

He and Toshinori had agreed to not tell anyone. The blond had made very clear it wasn't out of being ashamed that Shota was his mate, just in case it would make him feel bad. It would indeed be too troublesome if it was made public, especially about the number one hero being an omega. And the media would most likely never leave them alone, which wasn't something Shota was looking for. Maybe they couldn't hide it forever, but they would for as long as possible.

But he also didn't really want to lie to his friend about it. Hizashi knew him well enough that he would probably not be able to slip away so easily every time he asked. He could probably tell him without saying who it was.

"Wait don't tell, I want to guess it" he stopped him when he was going to speak, making the underground hero roll his eyes a little, listening to his guesses. He replied negatively at every one of them, sometimes making comments about it.

"All I have left is a mate, but it can't be that" he commented, waiting for the inevitable and usual sarcastic comment about it. Yet it never came, making him look back at Shota with a shocked face, getting his answered when he looked away.

Upon seeing Hizashi reaction, Shota immediately activated his quirk, his hair starting to stand up, not wanting for the loud man to just scream it out loud. The blond managed to catch himself, putting both hands in front of his mouth to keep himself from talking, still looking in shock at his friend. "No way!" he whispered loudly, "I can't believe mister I don't think a bond is necessary has made one before me, why the change of heart?" he commented.

"Didn't really have a choice to be that person" he replied, waiting for the waiter to be gone after he brought them their drink. The blond looked even more surprised, still not believing it. He wanted to ask if Shota was joking, but it wouldn't be the kind of joke he would make. "I still can't believe you found a fated one" he laughed, "Lets drink to that tonight" he suggested.

He couldn't help but roll his eye at his friend enthusiast and happiness about it, yet still feeling amused and smiling, drinking with him. "But I'm really happy to hear that, if this person can bring you happiness, then I don't mind being the last to find mine," he said after leaning back in his chair, "Guess I won't be able to go back to you if I need comfort after love problems" he complained jokingly, receiving a snort at his complaint. "I can always help even if now it has it limit" pointed out Shota.

Since their student years, they made some experimenting with each other. They both knew that since they were both alphas it wouldn't really lead anywhere, but they trusted each other enough to do that. It ended up creating this relationship where when one might need comfort more intimately, they would go to each other. But now it was obvious that Shota wouldn't want to cheat on his mate, nor was Hizashi anywhere near wanting for him to do that.

"Who is it?" he then asked, curious as to who his friend was bond to now. He then saw the hesitation on his friend's face, surprising him. What was the hesitation for? "About that... I can't really talk about it, not that I don't trust you, but this could be a problem if it was known" he explained.

Hizashi seemed a little lost, not sure why it could be a problem. But then again, it was common for pro heroes to not let the public know about it. Yet he still couldn't see why his friend couldn't tell him. It wasn't like he would go around telling people. "Are they are rising hero or something?" he asked, curious. "Yeah... something like that" he received.

The blond really wanted to ask more, but seeing how his friend seems to really not want to get into that he simply gave up. Maybe one day thing would be good enough for him to tell him, for now, he would simply wait. "Well, I guess it cannot be helped, as long as you are happy with this person," he said, gaining a relieved smile from the underground hero.

Yes, he was really happy lately and it still felt surreal to have someone to love and that was also loving you. He still could hardly believe something so nice could happen to him. All of his negative thoughts about finding a mate weren't so right anymore.

Everything was so good right now, he was nearly scared it couldn't stay like this.

Shota had just woken up, Toshinori already in his apartment, waiting for him to slowly wake up with the help of his coffee so they could have their usual breakfast together. If thing kept going like this, he would suggest for the omega to live with him. It already had been a year since they met in person for the first time and Toshinori was at his place nearly every day, it was most likely bothersome to always do the travelling.

He was a little uncertain about asking though, as it could complicate their attempt at keeping this a secret. He was looking at the back of the large man making them breakfast. Maybe it would be worth it if he could see this every morning.

As he was slowly getting more awake, Shota realised that his mate was unusually quiet. Even when Shota was still too groggy to really keep a conversation going, Toshinori would speak to him about small things. Yet, he hadn't said much since he had arrived. After putting more attention to it, he could feel some nervousness coming from the blond, making the underground hero a little wary.

"You are awfully quiet today... did something happened?" he asked as he put down his mug, leaning in his chair. The omega seemed to tense a little at the question, making Shota frown a little. Something was definitely off.

"Not really," started Toshinori as he finished putting their breakfast on some plates, "But I do have something to tell you". A feeling of unease starting to settle into Shota, simply nodding as the man was placing the food on the table. "Sure, what did you need to tell me?" he asked, starting to eat despite not having the appetite for it anymore.

There was an uncomfortably too long silence, where he could feel all of Toshinori nervousness and hesitation. "I have to go to America" he finally stated, making Shota stop in his movement to eat, looking back up to the other hero. The underground hero tried to not think too negatively of it, assuming first that it was probably just for a meeting or a short mission. "Oh, I see" he expressed, thinking it was all.

"I need to go for at least a year," added the blond, looking away when he saw the alpha looking back up again. At least? So he could be gone for longer? "I... see" replied Shota, unsure what to say at first, not expecting such news from him.

Another uncomfortable silence then fell onto them, where neither of them touched their food.

"I know it can be a long time, but I thought you could maybe come too?" suggested the blond, looking at his hands, "I cannot tell the reason why I need to go, since it is confidential, but I'm sure you could be able to work there too, you are very talented and I'm sure you coul-".

"No." came the reply, making him jump a little, not expecting for it to be so straight forward. He looked back up at Aizawa, the man looking directly at him. "I won't be going to America, for a starter I don't even understand English, second I can't just leave my work here, contrarily to someone, my name doesn't have much to it as of now".

He could suddenly feel some agitation coming from the taller man, looking unsure as to what to say. "English isn't really that hard to learn, and by going you could make a nam-" tried to argue Yagi, before being interrupted by Aizawa again. "I already said no".

Clearly, he wasn't being suggested to work with him on whatever he was called for, simply to follow him there. There were too many reasons going wouldn't be as good for him as it would for the man. Going to fight somewhere he didn't even understand the language wouldn't be advantageous for him and learning the language wasn't that easy when he barely knew anything. From what he saw, the medias seemed to be even worst in America and if he were to stay close to Yagi, there was no way he wouldn't run into them. Also, as he had said, he couldn't just leave his agency, he had no guaranty to get back his place. His quirk might be good, but he wasn't well known and the impression he was leaving on people was clearly not a selling point.

"I see..." whispered Yagi when he understood the underground hero wouldn't change his mind. "Why do you have to go anyway? Don't people need you here?" asked Aizawa, trying to hide that he was the one needing him here. "I really can't tell... But they do need me" simply replied the blond, tensing and getting more nervous when he felt the other one getting irritated at his vagueness.

Things only escalated from here, as Aizawa couldn't understand why he couldn't be trusted with the information. Why was he refused to know in what situation his mate was being sent off? Why was it so hard to understand he just wanted for him to be safe, he could already barely compare to his strength, now he was going away for a minimum of a year? Why was it so hard to see he was just scared that something might happen? He had gotten attached to him so quickly that it was still scaring him, what was he supposed to do if something happened to the omega?

The more they were arguing, the more Yagi could see the man closing up on himself. "This is my duty, I can't refuse," stated the blond. "Is your duty that important, can't you just turn down one thing for once?! You've been working more and more, was I just useful for you to work without being bothered by other alphas?!" snapped harshly Aizawa, only to look surprised by how he just sounded, looking away.

Yagi had been taken aback by his accusation and was about to refute them, only to be surprised when he saw the man suddenly getting up, "W-wait, where are you going Shota?" he asked. "I need fresh air" simply replied Aizawa, knowing he would only get more irritated and say things he might regret later on. Even if they were based off real worries he had deep in himself, he didn't want to make them know either as they were irrational worries. Despite knowing it was most likely irrational worries, he couldn't help himself but try to distance himself so he wouldn't get hurt if the worst was to happen.

Yagi wasn't able to stop him, only looking him leave helplessly.

When Aizawa came back a couple of hours later he found the apartment empty, unsurprisingly, Yagi most likely had work to do now. He hadn't been able to get out of his head their argument, knowing he wasn't right. Yet, now that he had voiced his worry, he couldn't help but feel like it might be the case.

Maybe All Might truly have gotten close to him simply so he could have an easy way out about his second gender being affected by other alphas. Maybe he was simply fooled.

He truly hoped it wasn't the case.

Yet the thought was still nagging him in some corner of his mind.

Afterwards, they barely contacted each other before All Might went away for America. The man did try contacting Eraser Head, yet he would mostly gain very short answer, making him hesitate on whether or not he should try touching the subject. Still, before going away the blond made sure to assure him they would stay in contact by writing to each other.

Hizashi was getting out of the radio station, when he saw a familiar figure leaning against a cement border, looking at the night sky. He quickly walked over to him, calling for him "What a lucky guy I am, Sho deciding to pay me a visit after..." he started before pausing once he was closer to him, "Is something wrong... you look terrible" he finally asked once he had a better look at him.

Shota looked as if he hadn't really been able to sleep in the past couple of days, the dark circle under his eyes starting to come out again. Also, he did look rather pale, had he been eating correctly? What had suddenly happened, he was doing so good not so long ago.

The underground hero had look back to him, signing deeply at his question, as if the thought of talking about it was exhausting him. "Can we go back to your place?" asked the man, only for Hizashi to have a familiar feeling to this request. This was the tone he used when he needed comfort. This was the kind of tired and empty expression he had when something had deeply hurt him.

"Sho I don't think..." he started to reply, thinking back to the fact he now had a bond, knowing it wasn't a good idea. But he couldn't turn him down either, clearly, his friend needed someone he trusted right now. "Sure, let's also grab something to eat on the way, what about that? I'm sure you didn't have the time to eat before coming" he suggested, "Your pick, I'll pay". He only received a weak "Whatever is fine" before the blond took the lead.

He went and got some of Shota's favourite take out, thinking it might help him feel a little better if he ate some of it. Once home, he went to put everything in the kitchen, getting some beer for them. The underground hero seemed as if he wanted to say something, but he was cut off by the radio host "We aren't talking before you eat, I don't care if it just a little bit, you need to do it" stated the blond, serious about his request.

Shota looked at him for a moment before sighing again, sitting down to start eating a little. He didn't have the appetite to eat, but he knew Hizashi was doing this for his own good, especially since he knew he hadn't eaten correctly in the past couple of days. Only after he was sure his friend had eaten enough to his satisfaction did Hizashi opened his beer, leaning in his chair. "So, what happened?" he asked, Shota putting down his chopstick as he took his own drink.

"We fought" he stated first, Hizashi guessing somewhat where this was going, nodding as he was quickly eating. "He had to go away for work for a long and undetermined period of time... I decided not to follow him and ended up arguing about it" he explained a little better, "Really he can't stop working for a minutes" he pointed out a little frustrated. He took a little pause to drink some more, only looking at the can of beer in his hands afterwards. "Then I asked if I had just been useful for him to not be bothered by other alphas anymore and left".

This made Hizashi stop in his track to take a new bite, looking up towards his friend, seeing how his hands had started to shake a little. He knew how his friend wasn't really one to open up, especially so he wouldn't get hurt in such ways. "Sho" he gently said.

"But then I started to think: but what if it was really that?" he asked, getting a little agitated, "What if he saw how I wouldn't have a choice to agree at some point and just went along to be liberated? What if his kind words were all just white lies to make me agree? What if I was just a stupid fool who decided to not be rational despite knowing who it was? What if-".

"Shota!" he was cut off, jumping a little when he felt too hand grabbing his shoulders, forcing him to turn to the side, looking up at Hizashi. He hadn't realised he had started to tear up throughout his monologue, trying to wipe the tears away. "I'm sure it must be a misunderstanding, you told me how kind this person was, no one could go on for months without slipping up at some point" he tried to reason him, himself not wanting to believe someone could do this to his friend.

He could still see the doubt in Shota's eyes, as if this fear was running deeper than just a passing idea, as if he was doubting himself in this situation. He hated seeing him in such a state, he knew how much his friend feared of being left behind by someone he loves, he was still amazed at how he had managed to find a place of trust in the man's heart.

"Come here," he said softly, pulling him closer so he could take the underground hero in his arm, trying to calm him down. "I wish we had never met... At least I wouldn't know how good it feels if he really..." he didn't finish his sentence, tired of thinking about this awful possibility. The blond was totally heartbroken to hear him talk like this, holding him more tightly in his arms. "Don't say that" he said, knowing he wouldn't think that if he was sure it wasn't something bad.

They stayed like this for a while, until Hizashi felt the grip on his clothes loosen a bit, leaning back a little to look at his best friend. "Let's go to bed" suggested Shota, only to sigh when he saw what expression the blond was making, "I'm tired, I might need some sleep". The radio host chuckled at the way he was saying it, it wasn't just 'might need'.

"Then go take a shower, it going to refresh you a little, I'll lend you some clothes to sleep". Shota didn't seem like he wanted to take a shower, but he knew he was due for one so he simply left himself being gently pushed towards the bathroom. He did hear him leave some clothes, sighing in relief when he saw they weren't too weird. He could even say that the shirt with the cat on it was pretty cute.

When he got into the bedroom the blond was finishing changing into more comfortable clothes to sleep, having most likely been cleaning the kitchen up until then. "Sho, you can't go to sleep with your hair wet, you'll catch a cold". Shota mumbled that he always let them dry like that, but didn't fight back when he was forced to sit and have his hair correctly dried, he was too tired to do that. A least it was a nice feeling.

When they finally went to bed it wasn't too long before Shota fell asleep, clearly having lacked it in the past couple of days. Hizashi couldn't bring himself to sleep immediately, wanting to make sure his best friend wouldn't have a bad sleep, keeping him close to his chest as his finger lazily brushed through his clean hair.

"I hope this is all a misunderstanding" he whispered to himself, sighing. But even if the two fated mates were to talk about it, it would still leave scars in his friend's heart. He really hoped he'd never have to see him in such a state.

They didn't manage to keep the promise of staying in contact as well as All Might would have liked to. Clearly, despite trying to reassure Eraser Head, the man still had his doubt. Not to help, he ended up with more work than he expected to have, so he couldn't always write as much as he would like to.

The more time it was taking him to write, the more Eraser Head would close up on himself, making him answer with more time too. This was causing for All Might to work even to not think too much about it, therefor giving him less time to write. This had then created a vicious cycle where things simply went wrong, ending up with Eraser Head not replying him anymore, as they managed to have other arguments over email, mostly over either knowing what he was doing exactly, when he was going back or asking if Eraser Head was sure he wouldn't come to America.

It ended up taking him two years to finish up the work he had been asked to come for. The villain association they were tracking was finally taken down, yet he didn't came back to Japan yet. People seemed to still need him there, but he also had apprehension about going back home, an anxious feeling setting in him when he was thinking about meeting back with Eraser Head.

Then he had his fight with All for One, giving him his life-threatening injury, forcing him to stay until he was at least healed back up. Yet, even once he was healed up, he couldn't immediately bring himself to go back, his injury and new situation making him hesitate.

Before he knew it, eight years had passed before he was finally back in Japan, and barely back did he found the young Midoriya, choosing him to be his successor.

Throughout these eight years, Eraser Head didn't do that great, going back to his past self, but slightly more closed up to relationships with people. It got to a point where Hizashi needed to do something to help him. He couldn't let the alpha work himself to exhaustion, despite their job already being dangerous, it would only make it worst.

With the help of Nemuri they managed to get him a place at UA as a new teacher. Eraser Head seemed unsure at first, did have difficulty working with all the young hero to become, but then found some motivation. He noticed how many young students wanted to become heroes without the talent or motivation for it, becoming one of the most severe teachers in his picking of students.

It had been a little hard juggling the two jobs at first, learning the hard way what was a good idea or not. Going on night patrol when he had a lesson to give the next day? Maybe not the smartest idea he had. He wasn't sure how Hizashi was keeping up with his three jobs.

This did help him forget about all the doubt and negative feeling that had followed after All Might's departure for America. Yet, despite keeping his distance for his own well-doing, he couldn't bring himself to delete or throw away the letters that had been sent to him. As angry as he was about this idea of being used by the omega, he couldn't just throw away how he was still feeling deep in him.

He tried not keeping up too much with the news, not understanding most of those who were in English anyway, missing All Might come back to Japan as he was too occupied by his class preparation for the next semester to start and see who he would have to deal with soon. He wouldn't have guessed how exhausting the next semester would be, in many ways.
