notenough223: I am glad you love this.
GOD FANFICSPEES SUPER 16: Well, I never really left, just hit a bump after trying to work the last section in. I think I've got over the slump I was in. I tend to get into a slump when I have to work and add to a story because it throws off my groove.

Surge watched Sonic run off in the distance. She hated this fucking idea, but like hell she needed Sonic's help. Surge glared at the little yellow freak, "Alright, what the fuck are we doing?"
Kill Sonic…. Kill Sonic….
"We're going to get Cream, weren't you listening?" The Fox dared to snarked at her with a grin. He put the ear piece in, and pressed it to his ear, "Hey Vector, can you give us directions? Yeah, we're going for Cream."
"Hey, you little shit? Are you really gonna fucking start sassing me, then shrug it off? You think you're fucking safe?" Surge balled a fist, ready to pummel the Fox.
Tails simply smiled, " Ok… Yeah… I got it."
Surge bore her teeth, and sparked to really drive home how fucking pissed she was.
The Fox stopped and jerked, before holding his hands up, "Sorry, I could get away with jokes like that with Sonic."
Surge scowled, but calmed down. She was not going to bruise the kid and look like the mentally unstable fuckup she was. Surge simply groaned, " Fuck it, let's just go." She walked in front of Tails, and got ready to run.
She waited… and waited. Surge looked over her shoulder, "Well, Are you gonna to grab on?"
"I'll keep up, don't worry." The Fox Smiled, "We're going to head about thirty miles… this way. I guess, just follow me." He pointed off to their left.
Surge almost laughed, and adjusted herself. Then she saw the fox bolt off. She was surprised that the little shit was so fast. Surge had to bolt to keep up. The Fox was surprisingly confident. Surge wasn't really sure how to deal with him.
She kept pace as she saw his tails spinning up to boost himself through the jungle. They zipped past trees, jumped over roots and burst through ferns. The trees seemed to get larger, and the wood seemed to interlock as larger, older branches interwove into a fucked up canopy the seemed to cut down on the light that got below.
Still, the Fox kept running. Surge couldn't let herself be outdone by the sidekick. She ran along with him, keeping up without slowing down, until he tackled her.
Surge sat up and growled, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
She then saw past his shoulder and saw the spikes that had shot up out of the ground. Right.
Tails picked himself up, "That was close."
"No shit." Surge grumbled, before shrugging, "Thanks."
"No problem." The Fox simply smiled. Surge kept getting really weirded out. The little shit didn't have anything, anything, bad to say to her. She growled as they went they went to the dreadful walking to get around. Surge watched the fox carefully step around the traps, leaving Surge a nice pathway to follow.
She walked along, "So… You got nothing to say to me? No shitty flaunt trying to look cool or anything?"
The Fox got low and crawled on the ground, "Why would I have something to say to you?"
"Why do you think? Every one of your shitty friends had something to say about how I'm "not trustworthy" or "dangerous". Every one of them, but you." Surge squinted at the fox suspiciously.
Tails turned his head, glancing back at her, before continuing his crawl, "You want me to say something?"
"I want to know why you are the only fucking one of your friends who doesn't have anything bad to say about me." Surge growled as she continued to follow his lead.
"Sonic trusts you." The Fox sounded like a fucking child.
"That's enough for you? What the fuck is wrong with you people?" Surge growled, crawling along the ground as Tails stood up. She realized she was asking to be insulted, but fucking hell it made no sense that the little yellow shit didn't have anything to say about her.
"Sonic is a good judge of character. He may not have… too much going on upstairs, but when he says someone is on our side, I believe him." Tails smiled at her before looking ahead, and squinting.
Surge was blown away. This kid must not have "too much going on upstairs". He was fucking stupid if he trusted her just like that, "Do I sound like a fucking friend to you?"
Tails, instead of answering her fucking question, ran over to the large tree that was about twenty feet in front of them. Surge zipped over next to him, "Hey, I was talking to you…. What's up with the tree?"
The fox put a hand into a hole in the trunk. He seemed to strain as he pulled back on something. The side of the tree opened up, and Surge blinked. The Fox was fucking brilliant, she'd give him that. Maybe more going on in his head than she gave him credit for.
Tails looked at her and shook his head like he was fucking older and disappointed, "Sonic knows good people when he meets them. Maybe you had a rough past, we aren't really strangers to that, so we know you can make it to the other side."
"Yeah… he told me the same damn thing." Surge growled, balling her fist.
Tails seemed a little nervous, shuddering but stepping aside, "Ladies first." He bowed his head.
Surge walked inside and saw a spiral stair casing going all the way up the trunk of the tree. It seemed to stretch for an eternity upward. She groaned, "Great, a nice fucking long run."
"Elevator Miles, coming in." The Fox began to spin his ass and levitate.
Surge saw him holding out his hands. She took them, and felt herself lifted off the ground. The kid had his uses alright. Surge heard his gasp as they started to lift off.
"You are heavy." He huffed as they rose upward.
"What the fuck did you say to me?" Surge growled, as they passed the first level.
"You weigh a lot more than Sonic." The Fox corrected, wincing as they rose higher with each level.
"It's my metal fucking bones, Starline didn't exactly want captain blue balls fucking me up with one spin attack." Surge growled, ready to kick the fox.
They got to the second Level before the Fox set her down on the steps, shortly afterwards landing himself, panting to catch his breath. "So… Out of curious speculation…. do you hate me?"
Surge glared at the fox, "I fucking hate all of you."
"I mean do you want to destroy me like Sonic?" Tails asked, nervously.
Surge paused for a moment, "Nah, Starline was pretty damn clear. Sonic needs to die, no one else."
"And you aren't going to kill him, right?" The Fox asked, finishing catching his breath.
Surge rolled her eyes, "Take a wild fucking guess."
Tails giggled, "We'll really have to work on your mouth." He began to spin his tails up and held out his hands.
"I'll make a fucking dentist work on yours." Surge growled, balling a fist. She'd said it all before. So Surge Grabbed hold of his hands, and they rose up. It was strange, but there weren't any badniks out here to kick their asses.
Then they got to the top of the tree. Surge heard the Fox sputtering up, trying to catch his breath. The big baby really couldn't lift her? Surge let him catch his breath as she turned and saw what looked like a bunch of hollowed out trees which bridged the gap between the massive trees.
Surge also saw an ass load of badniks along the way. Flying metal wasps and monkey badniks. Surge turned to the fox, "Alright, bitch-boy, you ready to go?"
Tails panted for a moment, before nodding, "I'll be right behind you."
Surge flashed him a grin, as she cracked her knuckles. She got in her runner's stance, before rushing down the open half-pipe. She followed the hollowed out log as she ran, curving to the left as the tree did the same. She could hear the sputtering of the spinning tails and Surge turned to see the fox following her, actually keeping pace.
Surge turned back around and jumped up as the metal wasps began to fire their lasers. Surge spun herself at the flying metal wasps, jumping from wasp to wasp before landing on the wood half pipe and continuing her run.
She avoided explosions from mechanical monkeys on the branches, which were tossing down strange coconuts at her.
Surge saw the fox fly up and spin his tails on the monkeys, tearing the annoying shits to shreds. She slowed down enough to think about how much that would hurt if she threw down with the fucking monster.
The fox descended down, and caught her look, "What?"
"You have a fuckin' blender for tails?" Surge shouted in surprise.
"Yeah, how's that any different from a spindash?" Tails asked, as if confused.
"Quills have actual fucking sharp points!" Surge growled, throwing her hands up. It made no sense. How were the fluffy things so sharp?
"Yeah… well, when something goes fast enough, it doesn't really matter. Let's go, come on." Tails smiled, before sputtering off.
Surge shook her head, and took off to keep up with him. She wondered how Kit was doing. She had to admit that it was nice working with a partner who didn't need instructions, and was able to stand on his own two feet, but she still missed the little guy.
The half pipe turned into a clearing as the tree it connected was cut off to make a large stump. Surge slowed down, and saw the half pipes which went in four directions. Tails, however, didn't seem too interested in the pipe, and was instead scanning the tree line.
Surge didn't have time for his stupid "thinking and look" mentality. She ran to her left, and followed the half pipe all the way to another stump that had a box. She opened the box and saw some rings at the bottom. They were smaller, like the one's faker flipped.
Surge pocked them, before running back to Tails.
"I got it, grab on." Tails smiled at her, before lifting off. Surge grabbed his hands as he huffed higher. They flew… off the tree line, and through bushed.
"You mother fucker, don't you dare drop me you piece of shit!" Surge shouted as they pushed past some leaves.
"Just give me a moment." The Fox mumbled, flying higher.
Surge then saw it. A metal tree house, very different from the wooden designs of Eggman's base.
"Where are we going." Surge growled, balling her fist.
"To find out more about you. Sonic said you wanted to learn more." Tails smiled at her.
"I gave that shit up!" Surge shouted, swinging back and forth.
"Hey, stop that! I didn't know. Besides, I whipped up something that could help us, and I want to test it out." The Fox complained as they landed at the metal entrance. To Surge's surprise, the door was simply a key pad. Surge knew the code. 1991.
The door opened, and she stepped inside, followed by the fox. He pulled something out of his left tail, a little USB drive.
Surge looked forward and saw the large computer at the center of the tree house. Tails called out, "WAIT!" He took a leaf, and threw it in front of Surge. The leaf floated until a laser was lit up, and then energy beams erupted from the walls, burning the leaf to cinders.
Surge blinked, before shouting, "SHIT! That looks likes it'll fucking hurt like hell."
"It would probably kill you, and that heat would burn away any regeneration you had." The Fox mumbled, before getting on his knees.
Surge watched the fox crawl under the path of the lasers. Surge did the same, crawling behind him. She could see his fluffy appendages trying to climb up higher and flick the lasers.
Thankfully, they didn't and the two of them made it to the computer.
Surge growled, feeling her heart… jitter. Surge had no fucking clue what was going on with her as they got closer to the computer. She gave it all up, but the idea that she could find out just a little bit… who the fuck would care?
Surge watched the fox put the USB drive into the computer's drive. The screen lit up as it flashed a warning sign.
The song blared through the tree house.
LET ME SUFFER NOW!
Surge grit her teeth before the song quickly shut off. Tails smiled at her weakly, "You don't like that song, right?"
Surge growled, "Again, Fucking guess."
The Fox then went back to typing.
"Ha, didn't even turn off defender, what a noob." The Fox laughed, and the messages quickly disappeared he turned to her, "What do you want to know?"
Surge attempted to look hesitant. She still had her fucking dignity. Surge finally gave up, "Alright, look up anything with Tenrec in the name."
"Yeah, way ahead of you." The Fox smiled, and went to typing. He seemed to scroll through each file before Surge could get past "The" at the very start.
"Hmm… Wow, glad he didn't do that." The Fox mumbled, "Oo… that would have been rough."
"What? Quit being a baiting bitch and tell me what's going on." Surge growled, grabbing the fox and squeezing his shoulder.
"Ow, sheesh. We got to work on your mouth. He had some "upgrades" which really seemed like angsty, trying-to-be-cool attachments. He was going to replace your hands with buzzsaws at one point but thankfully realized you'd tear yourself up when you curled into a ball." The Fox pointed out.
Surge went from wanting to re-arrange his teeth to be disgusted at Starline. What fucking dweeb.
"Then he had the idea to put a thin layer of skin between your arms and legs to give you a glide ability, but again, he seemed to realize that was stupid." Tails pointed out, shaking his head.
Surge imagined herself looking like a flying squirrel. That sounded fucking stupid. "Alright, anything actually interesting?"
The fox flipped through a few, "Huh… Fushion cutter…. EMPs… Wow, he had a lot of upgrades that actually seemed to be planned for you."
Surge blinked, "Well why didn't he fucking do them?"
The Fox scrolled down, but as he was scrolling down, Surge saw green picture, "Hey, slow the fuck down!" Surge growled, trying not to sound desperate.
The fox stopped, before scrolling back up, "Something about you being "emotionally unstable" and "a risk to anyone when in mental decline"." The fox frowned, before looking at her.
Surge heard him, but she wasn't focused on him. She saw the picture. A forest in the background, a goal with a net on the ground. A green Tenrec with a black face mask, her quills down as she was in some sort of sports outfit. There were black pads on her knees and elbows. She was being held up by a bunch of young mobians. The little Tenrec was happy, without a care in the world.
Surge felt her heart pumping. Was she excited, or fucking scared out of her mind.
"It… it looks like he was watching you for a long time. Really creepy." The Fox mumbled, shifting, before Surge felt his eyes on her.
"He… What's the fucking name for that pic?" Surge growled, balling her fists. She was shaking, her past was right there! She just needed to… to…
"S142." Tails mumbled. Surge felt herself getting angrier, she was so fucking pissed off. She had come so close, and Starline continued to sucker punch her. She'd get the last laugh. She was going to snap his little beak, then stab him with own feet, over and over again. Surge snarled and screamed ,"LOOK MORE!"
The fox turned back, but the screen suddenly froze, with a large error message appearing.
Tails shrugged, "Oh well."
Surge turned to him, " Are you shitting me? "oh well"? He Just locked us out!" Surge shouted.
Tails pulled out the USB drive he stuck in, "Yeah… but he can't keep me out. I'll find the main base, where everything is stored."
Surge stopped her anger for a moment. The fox could do that? He was fucking brilliant. "Tell me when you find some shit. You hear me?"
"Alright. I think we have a deal." The Fox smiled at her, "Now, let's go save our friends."
Surge and the fox crawled under the lasers once again, getting outside before Tails gave alight huff, before lifting Surge off the treehouse. They flew back to the large stump, and Tails landed.
Surge stretched her back, "Alright… Now what the fuck are we doing?"
Tails pressed the earpiece, "Alright Vector, where are we going?" He paused for a moment. Surge began to tap her feet as the Fox blinked a couple times, "Look, we took a detour."
"If that bitch keeps complaining, tell him I'll turn him into fucking alligator stew when I get back." Surge shouted at him.
"Vector is a crocodile." The Fox pointed out.
Surge rolled her eyes, "Do us both a favor and shut the fuck up." She turned around and scanned the tree line. Outside of the mechanical monkeys hooting in the distance, Surge couldn't hear much. Why did Eggman even give those stupid fucking robots sound effects?
Tails finally got his head out of his ass and said, "Alright… We're heading… That way." He pointed to the wooden half-pipe that pointed north. Surge grinned and ran along it.
She heard the fox keeping up, so she had no problem going all out. She jumped up into the hitting each of the monkeys as she curled into a ball. She loved the feeling of her quills tearing through steel. It felt pretty nice.
Surge then skidded to a halt when she landed. They were three trunks away from where they started. Tails looked around, "Cream should be here somewhere."
Surge looked around. The stump was surprisingly empty. Surge walked around in a circle, before she heard a grinding noise.
Surge turned and saw a medium sized badnik rolling down a half pipe towards them. Surge dove out of the way as the fox flew upwards.
Surge then stood up as the badnik, a giant ball, rolled around the stump before stopping at the edge furthest away from Surge. She saw it uncurl and reveal a small rabbit inside. The uncurled form looked like a small kangaroo.
"That who we're fucking looking for?" Surge asked, cracking her knuckles.
"Yep, that's Cream, let's get it." Tails smiled at her, before whirling his fluffy appendages up.
Surge zipped forward, only to get knocked back by the super badnik when it curled into a ball and slammed into her. It then began to roll down the half pipes pretty fast.
"Let's go after it!" Tails called out. Surge ran down. Why couldn't it just sit still.

Alright, This style was actually requested by my friend, who wanted to see Surge and Sonic partner up with different partners than their traditional companions. I thought it was kind of odd, but he explained the potential, and I agreed. I hope I did this team up justice.
Like always, there is a poll on my main profile, I would like everyone to participate in.
I would also like for you all to visit Sonic Rangers by Kintostar, and give that story some love.
Of course, leave a review or PM me. I will respond to reviews in the next chapter, and I will respond to PMs when I can. PM will remain private, so if you don't feel comfortable with sharing a thought about the chapter, you can send a PM and only you and I will know, unless you decide to tell someone else.
