I did try to make Tails a bit of a foil of Kit, while also drawing up the technicality that she was only told she wanted to destroy Sonic.

Giyuufan: Well, I do acknowledge every review I can in the next chapter I post. There are a couple times where FanFiction bugs out and I can't read the reviews, but all in all, I do my best. I'm glad you are having fun.
Crazybeebee: I definitely feel like Surge would like Tails more than Kit. She seems to hate Kit's submissive personality in the comics. Now… for the main show.

Alright, now if you go up ahead, you'll find Vanilla sitting down… or something, I don't know? Just save her so and bring back to me… I mean home. Bring her home.
Sonic laughed. As he zipped forward, Sonic almost laughed at the idea behind Vanilla sitting there. He knew she was going to be stuffed into a super Badnik.
Kit clutched his back as Sonic burst forward, trying to get to the super badnik. Sonic kept running, but he saw a large tree up ahead.
Stop, STOP! You are right on top of her!
Sonic skidded to a halt and looked around. He didn't see any super badnik, just a bunch of large trees. Sonic scanned the tree line, "Vector, I must be blind, because I don't see a big rabbit or super badnik anywhere."
She should be sitting on yo-
Sonic was greeted by a silence, before a calmer voice came on. Espio was taking charge, Sonic guessed.
Sonic, your tracker is right on top of Vanillas.
"I'm telling you, nothing is down here. " Sonic groaned. He looked around, before feeling a tug on his back quills.
Sonic looked over his shoulder to see Kit pointing a shaky finger upward. Sonic looked up and saw what looked like a wooden platform in the trees. Sonic smiled down at Kit "Good work buddy."
"T-Thank you." Kit smiled at him weakly, but Sonic felt the tail swaying back and forth with joy.
Sonic looked around, "Ok, how do we get up there?"
Kit squinted at the tree, before smiling weakly, "W-what if I made a ramp with water. Then you can … roll upward."
"Dude, you're brilliant. Let's do it, Kit." Sonic set the fennec down, and walked over to the tree that was in front of them.
"A-Are you ready." Kit called out, shaking a little nervously.
"Come on buddy, Let's see what you can do!" Sonic called out.
Kit's water tentacles moved to create a ramp. Sonic began to rev up his legs to burst up the ramp. Then Kit collapsed the water tentacles, pulling them back into his pack. Sonic dug his heels in to the dirt, stopping his burst of speed.
"It was a stupid idea… We'll find another way." Kit slumped down, looking at his feet.
Sonic finally burned his momentum, and walked over to the Fennec, who continued to look down, "It wasn't a bad idea, what's wrong with you."
"It was a bad idea. I know it wouldn't work. Surge would tell me it's stupid." Kit slumped down, and seemed to try to curl up between his legs.
"Kit… Surge would say you're pretty awesome." Sonic smiled down at the Fox. He was looking at a younger Tails. He needed that confidence boost.
"No she wouldn't. She's the only one who is awesome." Kit slumped and playing with his thumbs.
Sonic shook his head, "No… You are awesome. Kit, you are so smart, loyal and kind. That is what it means to be awesome. Super speed and electrical powers don't mean anything if you can't use them right." Sonic got low to get eye-level with Kit. "I'll tell you this, you aren't her slave. You have so much more to give the world outside of being a sidekick. I believe in you, but you need to believe in yourself."
Sonic stood up and Kit looked at him with bright eyes, as if he'd never heard those words until now, "Now, I think we can do this. If you don't trust yourself, trust me when I say I trust you."
Kit looked back down, seeming to think about himself, before nodding, "Lets do it!" his determination wasn't solid, but he was trying, and that was all Sonic could ask. Kit made the ram out of water tentacles, and Sonic began to rev up.
Kit closed his eyes, and pumped himself up. Sonic shot at the ramp, and ran straight up, feeling a water tenacle wrap around him as the two shot up the tree. Sonic dismounted, onto the platform, where a giant robot kangaroo stood, waiting for them.
Sonic saw the orb on the stomach of the Giant Kangaroo, where the large adult rabbit remained trapped as a power source.
Sonic got ready to run at the large Mechanical Badnik. "You ready, Kit?"
"Y-Yes, Sonic." The Fennec stuttered nervously.
Sonic bolted at the large Kangaroo, which jumped up, and curled into a ball. Sonic jerked left as the Super Badnik came down on the platform, shaking the whole thing. Sonic then jumped up and Slammed into the Super Badnik's back.
The Giant robot Kangaroo seeming to curl up into a defensive ball. Sonic jumped on the ball, but only found out that the Super Badnik was rock solid. Sonic turned to the Fennec, who was looking behind where they landed.
"A little help, please!" Sonic shouted as He continued to Jump on the Giant Kangaroo.
The Fennec shook his head and snapped his neck around, before his water tentacles came out and wrapped around the Metal Ball. The Fennec tried to pry it open.
Sonic was not prepared for the Metal Super Badnik to spring up without a windup or anything. The Ball just bounced and Sonic flew off, onto the platform.
Sonic got up. The Super Badnik, instead of charging to pummel Sonic, Rolled down the open half-pipe.
Sonic jumped up, "We can't let it get away!" Sonic called out to Kit, who began to run down the pipe in his slow, little run. Sonic zipped towards Kit and picked him up, throwing him over Sonic's shoulder as he ran down the pipe.
Monkey Badniks began to throw exploding coconuts at Sonic. Sonic dodged and weaved, "Come on Kit, I could use some help."
Sonic saw the water Tendrils come out once again, and start smacking the exploding coconuts back at the monkey Badniks. Sonic kept up his pursuit, thankful for the little guy's help.
Sonic really couldn't pass the large metal Sphere without getting crushed in front of it. So He kept up a brisk pace behind it.
"You know, you could do so much more. It's ok to love Surge, but you need to be able to help her when she isn't around as well." Sonic mumbled. He felt the Fennec droop in his arms.
"I messed up. S-sorry." Kit clutched Sonic's shoulder in an apology.
Sonic realized how much of the wind he had sucked out of the little Fennec's sail. It needed to be said, but Sonic didn't like how he had said it.
Sonic cleared his throat, "I mean, You weren't exactly comfortable, I get it. Just… try to do a little more without being asked. And for the record, It's ok not necessarily like everything that Surge does. She might need you to come in give her a different way, or she'll end up in trouble at some point in the future."
Kit clutched Sonic a bit tighter as they exited the next half-pipe and suddenly dropped down. Sonic and Kit screeched, but Sonic stopped when he heard fierce swearing.
"GET BACK HERE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Surge's voice called out, and Kit perked up. Sonic looked down. They seemed to be in a giant toilet bowl of sorts. There was a hole at the very center of the funnel, and the large Super Badnik Kangaroo began to spin around on the edges of the Arena.
Sonic looked past the hole and saw the Second, smaller super Badnik come around and do circles around the hole in the opposite direct of the parent.
They had their work cut out for them, but Sonic saw Surge and Tails jump down to help out. They were on the other side, yes, but that didn't mean anything. Sonic ran straight at the large Super Badnik, and curled into a ball, trying to smash through it.
He instead got smacked back, and felt the wind knocked out of him as he slammed into the walls of the arena. Sonic felt a water tentacle grab him, and pulled him back towards the center, letting him avoid getting crushed by the smaller Super Badnik.
"Thanks Kit, you're awesome!" Sonic called out, and the Fennec gave a weak wave. He set Sonic down.
Sonic landed and saw the larger ball coming around. Sonic ran towards the center of the funnel to avoid getting plowed over. He saw Surge getting pulled up by Tails, who was apparently having a tough time with lifting Surge off the ground.
He then turned as he heard the rolling come around to try to hit him. The Large Kangaroo badnik which was rolled up into a ball came straight at him, and Sonic went back out to the edges to avoid getting crushed.
The super badnik turned but its momentum made it fly up and it began to fly towards the edge of the arena. Sonic watched it uncurl and ran to smack it. He curled into a ball and flung himself at the badnik, slamming into its chest.
The Badnik rolled backwards into a ball, before rolling forwards and going back on the funnel edges. Sonic zipped around to Surge who was still doing a good job of dodging the badniks, "Go towards the center."
"Hey, Nice to fucking see you too. Go towards the death pit? Fuck that!" Surge shouted, before growling, "incoming."
Sonic turned around, and saw the small ball rolling towards them. He saw Surge had already jumped to his left, which was towards the center and he jumped with her. The super Badnik came around and tried to hit them, much to Surge's shock, and the two jumped out of the way.
Sonic landed back and ran in the direction that the smaller Badnik was going. The Badnik Uncurled, and Sonic ran under it and looped around to hit its chest, sending the smaller Kangaroo back, causing it too roll up and restart the cycle.
Sonic went back to Surge, who nodded, "I see… let's fuck 'em up!"
Sonic ran around to the other side as the badniks rolled around. Sonic waited at the center of the funnel, close to the hole that actually dropped down. Sonic only saw darkness down the hole, and decided it was best not to dive in.
He then turned around as he heard the grinding. The Larger Super Badnik was coming in to run him over. Sonic ran out of the way at the last minute, and the Super Badnik soared upward, and opened itself up.
Sonic ran around and saw Surge doing the same. They jumped up at the same time, and slammed into the super badniks. Sonic saw his super Badnik roll back, and go back to rolling around the funnel.
Sonic then ran back to his little post, and Surge did the same. She grinned at him with an awesome, but crazy smile. Sonic grinned back at her, and the two laughed as the super badniks built up their speed again.
Then Sonic heard the super badniks screech to a halt. The two of them turned and saw the small ball and large ball sitting next to each other.
Sonic looked over at Surge, and she shrugged. Sonic saw the Super Badniks uncurl. The Smaller one seemed to stretch its plates out across the larger one's chest. The Large Badnik's arms got lengthened, and began to spin a couple times, shoot out and inward. The chest became heavier in armor, along with the belly area.
Sonic watched the Kangaroo Roar, before it's back opened up and fired missiles at them.
Sonic saw Kit and Tails approaching, getting ready to dive in and attack. Surge jumped up, and Sonic spun into her as she curled into a ball. The Super Badnik fired its clawed hand forward at Surge, stabbing her in the back.
"SURGE, YOU ALRIGHT?" Sonic shouted at her. She flopped on the ground, before Sonic dove out of the way of the second claw, and ran towards her. As he skidded to a halt, Surge growled, "Ow, that fucking hurt!"
Sonic saw the holes in her back slowly close, "Fucking asshole." Surge growled. The sound of an angry Fennec slapping the super Badnik with water tentacles.
Surge stood up, "You gonna stand there gawking at me like a fucking pussy or are you gonna start helping us out?"
Sonic laughed and turned around to face the Super Badnik, "Well, it's nice to know you're alright." He ran straight at the Super Badnik, which locked on to him. He'd fought these types before.
Sonic saw the paw spin up, before launching out at him. Sonic jumped into the air, and landed on the spikey hand, before riding it back as the second one launched. Sonic jumped up and slammed into the head of the Giant Kangaroo, before looking down.
The two super Badnik's were connected by a single linking metal point. Sonic began to hatch a plan. He fell back towards Kit, and grabbed him, before running out of range, "I need you to grab the arms and legs, and keep it still, ok?"
Kit blinked before looking at Surge who was running in the distance. He then looked back at Sonic, "OK!" He nodded with determination.
Sonic ran back to Surge, "Hey, You see what I did?"
"Yeah, yeah, fucking show-" Surge started as they ran at the Super Badnik.
"Can you do it with me?" Sonic asked, semi-rhetorically.
Surge blinked, "Yeah, but why?"
"Trust me." Sonic shouted at her as they ran within range of attack.
"That's a tall fucking order, but ok." Surge growled, running along side Sonic.
The left claw began to spin up. Sonic waited. The Claw launched out, and the two spikey rodents jumped up and landed on the claw.
"Alright, we need to go down. Avoid the head, I guess." Sonic explained the plan as water tentacles wrapped around the limbs of the super badnik.
"How the fuck am I gonna go straight down?" Surge growled.
"You won't, you'll knock me down." Sonic smiled, "I know how much you were waiting for that."
"Nice, right between the chest area?" Surge asked as the claw finally returned to its position.
"Yep, but be gentle, it's my first time." Sonic laughed as he jumped over her, catching her giving him the middle finger, but he saw the struggling smile on her face in trying not laugh at the crude humor.
Sonic curled up and felt her slam into him, as he spun down and tore through the metal of the Giant and Smaller Kangaroo. Sonic felt himself collide with the platform, and roll out before uncurling.
He saw the smaller Badnik crumple to pieces, spitting out the yellow sphere with the small rabbit inside. The Larger one let out a screech, before rolling straight at Surge, who jumped out of the way.
Sonic got up and ran after the Giant Badnik, only to watch it go down the hole at the center of the funnel.
"Sonic, We need to take care of Cream!" Tails called out. Sonic turned around and saw the little rabbit in Tails' arms.
He ran back with Surge running to see the friend they had saved. Sonic saw Cream laying down on her side, sleeping ever so peacefully.
Surge walked forward, "Yo, little shi-"
Sonic intervened, "Surge!" She jerked up and turned around to look at him.
"What?"
"Can you watch your mouth around her. I'm serious." Sonic asked, a little agitated, but also a little desperate to keep little Cream still innocent.
Surge growled at him as the two stared off. Surge grumbled, "Screw you."
Sonic leaned down and began to lightly brush up her with his fingers, "Hey… Cream. Time to wake up."
"mmm, Mama, I'm hungry." Cream mumbled shifting slightly as Sonic ran his fingers back up her arms.
"Come on you little sh-" Surge started as Cream's eyes opened, "Shhhhweet thing…. It's time to get up."
Sonic felt surprised, but grateful that Surge was restraining herself.
Cream yawned, "Who… Who are you? Mr. Sonic? Who is this?" Cream seemed to turn back and forth between the Tenrec and Fennec.
Sonic smiled, "This is Surge, and this is Kitsunami, but we call him Kit. They helped save you."
Cream stood up and brushed herself off before clasping her hands together and bowing, "Thank you both for saving me, Miss Surge and Mr. Kit."
Surge blinked and scratched her head, "Well, it wasn't easy, just stay out of trouble you little pest."
Sonic scowled at her, but she held her ground. To be fair, they did only agree on swearing.
"That's not nice." Cream pointed out with a frown and a huff.
"Yeah, yeah sue me." Surge growled waving her off.
Cream turned to Kit and smiled, "Hi, I'm Cream."
"I-I I'm Kit…" The Fennec smiled weakly, and kept drooping.
Cream gave the Fennec a hug, "Thank you for helping me and Mr. Sonic."
Sonic saw Kit shudder from the hug, and freeze.
"Y-you're welcome." Kit stuttered.
Sonic heard Cream's stomach rumble while hugging the Fennec. She pulled away and bowed, "Oh my, I am so sorry."
"Don't apologize, You're hungry, I guess let's get some food, and regroup." Sonic looked at Surge to see if she was ready to keep going.
She groaned, "Aw to hel-ck if I care. I'm hungry, and you owe me, faker." Surge growled before mumbling something about his bruise.
Sonic nodded proudly, "Alright, then let's go and get some food."
Tails called out, standing on top of the Super Badnik, "Hold up, I want to look around for something."
Sonic groaned, "Come on, we're all hungry."
Tails sighed, before jumping down, "Give me a warp ring and I'll meet you at the diner."
Sonic nodded, and gave him one, before throwing another out, opening a hole to the diner. Sonic looked back at his little buddy, who gave him a wave before Sonic nodded, and they set foot outside the diner.
They went to their table, and sat down. Sonic could see Alice's sigh as they sat down. She came over, "What can I get you all to drink."
Sonic smiled at her, "Water for me."
"I would like some water please." Cream smiled up at Alice.
"Ah, Cream, such a sweet little girl. I'm so glad you are doing well." Alice smiled at the little, her wrinkles giving away how truly happy she was to see the little rabbit.
"Can I get some party poppers?" Cream asked Sonic.
"Sure, I don't see why not." Sonic stated with a smile.
Cream looked up Alice, who winked at the little rabbit girl.
Surge growled, "Water for the fu-n… two of us, Aly." Surge growled, and Sonic saw her bite her tongue. He gave her a reassuring smile, grateful that she was keeping her swearing in check.
Alice nodded, but had a more sinister smile behind her face. Alice left, and went to the kitchen.
Sonic looked down at Cream, "So… I'm sorry we couldn't get to your mother."
Cream smiled up at Sonic, "It will be fine, Mister Sonic. You always come through and save us. Thank you." She bowed her head, before turning to the Fennec and Tenrec, "Thank you two as well. You are really nice, and I am grateful for your help, Miss Surge and Mister Kit."
Surge scratched her head, "Awe… Shut up. We're in it for the food, isn't that right, Kit?"
"I was happy to help." Kit smiled at the rabbit. Cream beamed at him, and the Fennec smiled back.
Surge looked outraged, "What? Come on, Drippy, back me up."
"Y-yes ma'am." Kit slumped down.
Sonic saw Alice carry the tray of fried peppers stuffed with cheese and set them on the table, "It's on the house."
Sonic saw the golden crust of the lovely peppers, and Cream offered him one, "Would you like one, Mister Sonic?"
"No, Those are yours, I'm saving room for a chilidog." Sonic smiled at her.
Surge laughed, "Come on you big pu-baby, It's not that bad. I bet you're playing chicken." She grinned as she picked up a dripping popper as Cream did the same. They bit into their poppers at the same time.
Sonic saw Cream's face light up with joy as Tails walked into the diner. He sat down by Sonic, who now felt uncomfortable since he was on the inside of the booth.
Sonic could see Cream enjoying one of her junk food pleasures that they would definitely not be telling her mother about. Her cheeks were high and joyful.
Surge, however, had a different response. The popper entered her mouth, and she began to chew with a smirk. As a few seconds passed, Surge's chewing slowed down. Sonic saw her throat tighten as her chewing halted.
Surge's eyes began to water, and her lips puckered to let out air, before sucking some in. Sonic saw her cheeks begin to turn red as she snorted from her nose running.
"Miss Surge? Are you ok?" Cream asked and Surge seemed to get shaken out of a trance.
Tails laughed, "Are they a little hot for you?"
Sonic could see she was not doing well. Sonic waved over Alice.
"Hi, Can I take your order?" Alice smiled innocently.
Sonic asked, "Ok, Can I get a chilidog and a chocolate milkshake."
Alice nodded and wrote it down on her pad.
"I'll take a beef melt." Tails smiled at her.
"Can I get the grilled cheese, with steamed broccoli as a side please." Cream bowed.
Kit stood up in his seat, "I-I'll have a grilled cheese…"
Alice smiled at Surge, who had a light shake to her. Surge looked at Alice as her nose began to get wet. Surge pointed at Sonic as her eyes began to leak.
Alice nodded, "Alright, I'll be back in a moment."
Cream asked again as she took another popper, "Miss Surge, are you ok?"
Surge nodded, her breath becoming shaky. Sonic saw her eyes in disbelief as she looked at Cream.
Sonic leaned down to ask Tails, "Hey, so why'd you stay back?"
BANG
"Well, I was looking to see if I could breach the Eggnet." Tails smiled at Sonic, and was looking pretty confident.
BANG
Sonic smiled at Tails, "So what'd you find?"
BANG
"Nothing Yet. But I put a worm on it. I'll know everything in time." Tails grinned.
BANG
Sonic turned and saw Surge banging her head on the table, her water already empty. She demonstrated a remarkable ability to copy Blaze's fire control by breathing it out of her mouth as Kit sprayed water using his pack into her mouth.
Their food came out and Sonic looked over at Alice, "Ok, What did you do to the poppers?"
"I don't know what you mean." Alice smiled as She set the milkshake next to Sonic, who then pushed it over to Surge.
She flashed him a look of gratitude.
Sonic picked up the next popper closest to Surge, and pointed at the dripping red oil.
Alice shrugged with a knowing smile. Cream took the popper out of Sonic's hand and ate it.
"Oh… that's warm… I like it." She smiled at Alice.
Surge starred in disbelief as she drank the milkshake. Sonic laughed and they finished their food.
A warp ring later, they were back at Sonic's house, and they walked through the door, with the sun setting to their back.
Vector was not amused, "You didn't get Vanilla? What's wrong with you?"
"Sheesh, Vector, we did what we could." Tails countered, rubbing is eyes. He probably pulled another all-nighter.
Surge pumped a fist, "You should have seen how awesome I was. Isn't that right, faker-boy. Come on, you can admit it." Surge elbowed him lightly.
"Yeah, you were pretty awesome." Sonic laughed, before turning to Vector, "We needed to take care of Cream first. We can get Vanilla tomorrow. I think she would rather we save her daughter first than herself."
Vector looked down, "Well… Alright."
Cream pulled Sonic's hand, "C-can I stay with you tonight. I don't want to go home alone."
Sonic shifted nervously, before nodding, "Sure, you can have my bed. I'll take the other guest bed."
Cream shook her head, "No thank you Mister Sonic, I don't want to be difficult."
"You aren't, I insist." Sonic demanded, raising a hand to show his commitment like a pledge.
Cream seemed to think for a moment before nodding, "Ok, I hope you won't be uncomfortable Mister Sonic."
Sonic waved her off, and let Vector get out the door.
Sonic sat down at the table and let the food settle in his stomach. Surge sat down across from him.
"Well, We did what we could." Sonic sighed.
Surge leaned back and saw Cream sitting on the couch, before sighing, "We screwed the pooch. We missed one of your friends. The Fu-reaking sucks." Surge grumbled.
"You really care about them?" Sonic asked, partially smug by getting her to feel, and partially surprised by the same thing.
"I care about my image. I can look like a fu-freaking weakling who can't even take a super badnik." Surge growled, rolling her eyes, seeming to get more agitated, before looking out the window, "Fu-Screw this. We're gonna win something tonight."
She stood up and went to the console and turned it on. Sonic knew she was booting up the karaoke game., "Screw it, Faker, I'll dedicate this fu-freaking song to you!" Surge growled, starting up her mic.
Sonic grabbed his, and started it up. Then he saw the small little name of the song.
Surge leaned in to her mic as the piano began, followed by the drums and other instruments, "Welcome to your life, there's no turning back.
"Even while we sleep," Surge turned to face him, before walking towards him, waving a taunting finger at him while clearly looking proud, "We will find you acting on your best behavior, turn your back on mother nature- "
Surge then spun back to the TV and held out her free arm in a broad stroke, "Everybody wants to rule the world!"
Sonic laughed a little at her gestured, before leaning into his own mic, making eye contact with her. He shook his head as he sang, "It's my own design, it's my own remorse."
Sonic arc his back in a dramatic motion, "Help me to decide! Help me make the most of freedom-"
Surge pushed her back against his, and smiled, "-and of pleasure."
They sang with their back to each other, but both smiling… and having a good time, "Nothing ever lasts forever, Everybody wants to rule the world."
Sonic stepped forward, and closed his eyes, "There's a room where the light won't find you, holding hands while the walls come tumbling down! When they do I'll be right behind you!"
Sonic flashed grinned at Surge and continued singing, "So glad we've almost made it."
Surge grinned and shrugged, "So sad they had to fade it."
They came back together for the chorus, "Everybody wants to rule the world!"
Sonic and Surge laughed with each other as the instrumental took over. Sonic saw something in Surge's eyes. She was actually a little nervous, while tapping her foot.
Sonic could see the conflict on her face. "Are you alright?"
Surge was about to answer, before the lyrics came up on the screen. Surge scrunched her eyes and grit her teeth, "I can't stand this indecision, married with a lack of vision! Everybody wants to rule the world!"
Sonic pulled his mic in, but Surge wasn't done, "Say that you'll never never-never-never leave me! One good lie, I'll believe it! Everybody wants to rule the world!"
Surge panted as Sonic could see the catharsis on her face. She shifted, kind of embarrassed, but Sonic wasn't going to play it up. He leaned into the mic, "All for freedom-" he flashed her a finger gun.
Surge caught on with grin, "-and for pleasure." Her voice actually faltered for a moment, turning a little sad, "Nothing ever lasts forever."
Sonic joined in with the two of them singing the last few lyrics, "Everybody wants to rule the world!"
Sonic looked at Surge as the song closed out. With the screen turning black as the score began to get tallied up, the two laughed.
"You like that song?" Sonic had to ask, feeling his chest tickled, before giggling.
Surge snorted, "It's my favorite song. The best one Starline had at least." She looked away. Sonic could tell she wasn't in a talking mood anymore.
Sonic shrugged, "Well it's mine too."
The score tallied up. One hundred percent.
"Post the score? YES!" Sonic shouted and Surge wore a smirk on her face, but didn't say anything.
She didn't talk much for the rest of the day, or rather, night. They went to bed after showering, and Sonic laid in the bed across from Surge, With Tails and Kit still in the garage.
Sonic looked across the coffee table to see Surge's glowing eyes. She seemed… depressed, or droopy from her posture. He smiled at her, "You know, you could always stay with us after this. I'll pull some strings and make your issues disappear."
Surge was quiet, simply staring at him with those deep blue glowing eyes.
Sonic sighed, "I like your company. I really do. I've enjoyed our little adventure, and I wouldn't mind you staying." Sonic wasn't sure how else to say it.
"Surge… I know you don-" Sonic started, before Surge stopped him.
"I'll think about it, damn." Surge growled, before turning over. Sonic didn't really want to be pushy, so he just laid back and looked up at the ceiling.
Then, he heard a low mumbling coming from Surge. Maybe she was answering? Sonic raised his ear up to hear her words.
"Fuck-fuck-fuck-fuck-fuck-fuck-fuck-damn-damn-damn-damn-damn-damn-shit-shit-shit-shit-shit-shit-shit" Surge sounded less annoyed or frustrated, and instead like she was making up for lost time.
Sonic laid his head back and closed his eyes, not really sure what he was expecting.

Alrighty, Cream is out and safe. Alice punished Surge for being a jerk. The story is progressing nicely. We actually have three more sections, and then the endings. The journey is almost over, right as my life is starting back up. Oh well, might be longer times between sections but oh well.

We need more Surge and Sonic writers, because I might do one more story after this, but I am definitely not going to just do Sonic and Surge focused stories…. I don't think.

One last bit of housekeeping, I tested a new upload style with this story: the rollout style, where I post sections of a story in rapid deployment, as opposed to a periodical chapter. I am wondering what you all think of it, so I guess tell me what you think if you have an opinion on this style as opposed to traditional styles.
