This is an AU story from my Emma & Eli Universe. The Castles experience a series of ups and downs during the Spring of 2024. Happy times, serious times, but they always have their family. After the bombing in the episode "47 Seconds" - when Castle realized Beckett had been lying to him. But here they both realize how much is at stake and behave like grown-ups. He confronts Kate, and they manage to have a productive, adult conversation.

AU. Kate opens up a bakery after being shot. She meets a customer named Richard Castle. Sets place around the year of season 4/5. (It's been years since my last fanfic, but for JJ I came back out of "retirement").

Castle and Beckett travel with their family to the Aloha State for spring break and explore from Mauna Kea to Hilo to see everything the Big Island has to offer. A surprise request then leads to an extension of their vacation and reuniting with good friends on the West Coast. Forty-first in the Beware Of Darkness series. Caskett pairing.

Kate had never planned to see him again but now, she would have to see him. She had to see Castle, for the first time in weeks, and talk to him. Oh shit. Starting in the summer before S2 and then going AU from there.
