The battle with the Frenzied Silva was long and arduous. The father of Cruz, the Queen, was an opponent that they could barely match up to in battle. His Lost form as the Skull King, a large werewolf-like figure that wielded two massive golden greatswords, and could even use the fang-type Blood Veil of his former self.

Several of their group had been incapacitated by this form alone and it cost everyone every last bit of strength they could muster just to defeat the Skull Knight.

They thought it was over, but when Silva awakened as The Virgin Born, a being on the level of the Horrors the Revenants themselves had been engineered to fight against, they knew they were in trouble.

If it hadn't been for their friend and Io, they would have lost hope completely.

But no... instead of cowering in the face of immanent doom, he did what Revenants do best... Rise.

He tapped into the Relics he possessed and the Blood Codes he had collected from deceased Revenants, and those of his friends who trusted him with their very blood. With that power he took a stand alone against The Virgin Born.

He glared at the Virgin Born, his eyes glowed an Ethereal Cerulean, his head covered by the black hood of his Mendicant Shawl, one of the many Blood veils he possessed. His face was covered by a gas mask that only covered the bottom of his face, and had a design similar to that of a knight's armor visor, with a tube on the left side and red filters on the right.

His weapon was a Red Bladed Katana that was attached oddly to a black apparatus of sorts. Enduring Crimson, it belonged to his friend Louis, one of those who had fallen against the Skull Knight. His original weapon Hanemukuro had been shattered in the fight so he was forced to borrow his fallen friend's.

The hooded Revenant vanished in a swirl of blood and ash, reappearing crouched beneath the Quadrapedal Monstrosity Silva had become, blade poised to thrust up at the Virgin Born's exposed mid section.

But the creature reacted just as the Revenant struck. It managed to move to the side to avoid the attack without a scratch.

The Hooded Revenant clicked his teeth in annoyance as he was forced to waste precious Ichor dodging a retaliating tail swipe from the beast.

He vanished and reappeared above the beast, several hundred blue wisps of energy floated arround him, before they solidified into large bullets of ice.

His spell cast, the Revenant vanished and reappeared again in a free fall above the beast, Crimson blade pointed downwards like a pogo stick as gravity brought him closer to his foe.

The beast noticed his fall and raised a clawed arm to attack him, only for the ice bullets to rain down like a hailstorm, impaling small portions of it's flesh before shattering with a small explosion of frozen energy.

The beast roared and tried to block them, but that left it open for the real attack from the Revenant.

His blade sunk into the neck of the creature, prompting a screech of pain from its worm-like mouth.

But the fight wasn't over just yet and the Revenant knew it, he then sliced his hand on his blade, drawing enough blood for it to flow down the equally crimson blade.

The creature began to shake him which he chose to abandon his blade and leap off the beast, his red blade still buried in its flesh.

He flipped in mid air and skid to a stop when he landed on the ground safely, next to another of the blades of his fallen friends.

Oni Bane, the blade of Yakumo, it was a Greatsword weapon that consisted of two large katana blades forming a double edged weapon.

"I'm borrowing this Yakumo..." the Hooded Revenant muttered to the ashen remains of his friend and teacher, as he picked up the heavy blade.

He hefted the blade onto his shoulder and exhaled slowly.

Suddenly he snapped his fingers and the blade sparked with purple electricity.

He rushed at the beast while it was recovering, and unleashed a devastating strike to it's rear legs, cutting deep into it.

It screeched in pain again, before bashing him with it's body.

He was sent flying, but while he flew he used Ichor to create a large Crimson spike, sending it flying at the ribcage of the creature.

He then used Shifting Hollow to land on the ground safely instead of hitting the stone walls.

He slicked his still bleeding palm across the blades of Oni Bane, before taking a two handed stance facing the creature. Using his full might he spun around roaring as he released the blade at the creature.

The blade spun like a buzz saw at the creature, before impaling it in the collarbone, prompting another screech.

He Shifted towards his next weapons, The Libertador and The Brodiaea, the bayonets of his friends Eva and Mia, respectively.

He picked up both of the bladed guns and aimed them both at the monster as it raced towards him.

He fired rapidly at the beast, hitting it's maw multiple times, but that did not deter the beast in the slightest.

Shifting just as the beast reached him, he coated the blade of The Libertador, Eva's gun, before rushing at the beast from it's left side, using the bayonet like a spear, he impaled it once again, this time in the left rib.

He abandoned the weapon again as he shifted to the beasts Right side, before repeating the same action of coating the blade of The Brodiaea in his blood and spearing the right rib of the monster.

He reappeared next to the still living members of his team, Jack, and Io.

"Sorry... but I need to borrow those..." He muttered, refering to their weapons.

His Io didn't even hesitate as she handed him her Halberd, Dammerung. He received it with a grateful look in his eyes, before he turned to his first teacher, Jack.

Jack looked at his, hesitant to give it up, but sighed as he realized he probably wasn't going to need it after today.

Jack looked at his longtime friend and handed him his Executioner.

The hooded Revenant took the blade gently from it's owner.

"I'll be sure to return it..." he told Jack, who shook his head.

"No... Keep it. I doubt I'm gonna need it after this." Jack sighed.

The hooded Revenant nodded hesitantly, understanding his hidden meaning. Eva had become ash prior during the fight. She was his world, and now she was gone... it was a miracle he hadn't Frenzied yet.

The creature roared at the group, drawing their attention.

"Stay back... It's about time I finished this." he said as he brandished Dammerung in his left hand, and Executioner in his right.

Io nodded silently, resolving to provide support to him from afar. Jack bit his lip, cursing his uselessness.

The Hooded Revenant slowly walked to the beast, his steps were silent, yet carried an untold amount of weight to them.

His steps toward the beast began to pick up in pace as he began to sprint at The Virgin Born.

The beast roared and charged him as well.

The Revenant and the beast met each other with a series of high speed attacks.

The beast would swipe with its claws and he would retaliated by Shifting and striking with Executioner and Dammerung several times.

Their clash of power and will continued for several minutes until the beast swun its tail at the Revenant, catching him off guard to the point he barely had time to summon one of the gifts Yakumo had left him.

His body became covered in a large red bubble that barely blocked the incoming tail, but it sent him flying through the air, where they beast's claw waited.

It pawed him straight into the ground, which forced his right hand blade from his grasp, sending it flying off where it clattered to the ground, right next to Jack.

The Revenant grit his teeth as he struggled to break free from the beast's crushing claws.

The beast's wormy maw seemed to smile wickedly at his struggles.

He tried to use Io's Halberd to force the beast to release him, but it didn't help, with each successful strike of the halberd the creature drove it's paw harder onto his body, forcing him to cough up blood.

The beast slowly began to lower it's worm head, maw wide open ready to devour him.

A sudden flash of steel drew the Revenant's attention as Jack appeared above the beast, Executioner in his grasp as he sliced the arm that held the Hooded Revenant pinned.

The beast screeched in rage and pain, before immediately retaliating at the one who cut it's arm. It's tail launched itself like a stinger-type blood veil, impaling Jack through the chest, destroying his heart.

"Jack!? No!!" the Hooded Revenant howled in rage as he forced the paw of his body, before rushing to his friend.

The beast tried to get in his way, attacking with it's tail again, but in a split second, the rage filled Revenant summoned a massive blade of pure fire, and sliced the tail off completely.

The beast howled at the loss of it's tail, but the Revenant wasn't finished.

He coated his blood on Io's Dammerung and rushed the beast like the Halberd was a spear.

He impaled the beast all the way through, before he activated his Blood Veil.

The tails of his hood snaked their way into the beast's body, using the wound from Dammerung as an entrance.

His glowing blue eyes became a deep shade of purple as spikes rose from his collar behind his hood, forming a pseudo crown, and a demonic mask took shape over his Gas mask, leaving only his left eye visible.

He roared as he released the charge of his blood veil. Thousands of large blades exploded from the insides of the beast.

The beast puked out buckets of blood before falling to the ground.

The Revenant retracted his blood veil's 'vines' as they were called, and limped over to his dying friend.

"Jack!" he called as he collapsed to his knees beside the man.

Jack coughed as he smiled at the kid he had taught during the queenslayer operation.

"You've grown a lot... since the first time we met. Haha... I remember when you were that scrawny kid who I had gotten stuck with. Untrained and yet you were a fast learner. Soaked up everything I taught you like a sponge... hehe." Jack laughed as he reminisced.

"Jack! Please! Not you too! Please! You and Io are the only ones I have left! If you die... then... what else will there be! The other Revenants have all either Frenzied or were killed by Mido! There's nothing left! Please... don't go..." the Hooded Revenant cried as he took off his gas mask and hood, revealing a rather handsome young face.

His hair was messy and a bright blonde like it was formed from strands of sunlight. His eyes, which had stopped glowing, turned out to be the same shade of Cerulean as it had been when he fought. Currently though, they were filled with tears as he cried for his friend.

Jack looked at him silently a small smile on his face.

"Haha... haven't seen yours face since we met! You always kept that hood of yours up. Honestly made me wonder if something had mangled it!" Jack laughed.

"Jack!" The Revenant shouted at him, appalled at his statement.

"Hahaha! There's the Jaune I remember!" Jack said to the newly revealed Jaune.

"Dammit Jack! You always do stuff like this!" Jaune said to the man, but the tear filled smile on his face contrasted his words.

"Yeah... anyways... I don't have a lot of time left kid... I'm turning to ash as we speak... and there's nothing we can do about that..." he said weakly.

Jaune nodded in sadness at his words.

"But... you know what you can do?" Jack asked him, motioning his eyes to his blade, Executioner, then to the fallen beast, which was smoking with black energy.

Jaune caught his meaning and understood.

He picked up the blade and turned to the beast.

"I can end this..." Jaune said as he approached the smoking corpse of the beast that was once Silva.

He was joined by Io as he approached.

Upon reaching the corpse he place his free left hand on the body and immediately began to absorb Silva's Relic into his body, just as he had done with the others.

Jack looked at his former student and smiled one last time, before disintegrating into a pile of Ash.

Jaune grit his teeth as he struggled to contain the powers of all the Relics of the Queen, his eyes glowed blue and the Queen's Miasma wafted from his body.

He could hear the insane ramblings of Cruz's broken mind as she tried to take over his body, but he refused to allow it.

He knew what he needed to do.

Using Executioner as leverage he forced his way up the stairs to the throne of Vein. The large stone chair was equipped with hundreds of blood filled tubes, it was the reason the blood beas shortage happened to begin with.

Vein was designed to both act as a Shield by generating the red mist, and as a way to suppress Silva, to keep him from Frenzying. It worked until Mido tampered with the blood supply to Silva.

Jaune's group had already fixed the problem when they killed Mido so what he was about to do should be fine.

He sat on the throne and activated his Vines, connecting them to the tube of Vein.

Io joined him on the throne, leaning herself against him.

What he was planning would take hundreds if not thousands of years but one day he should awaken as himself, after completely absorbing the Relics and the Queen's power.

He began to use his Vines to drink the blood from the tubes and the blood lake below his throne, sucking the blood directly into himself. This would remove the Red mist, and would suck up the blood from the blood springs he worked so hard to revitalize.

But then again... it's not like they were needed anymore... there weren't any more Revenants besides him and Io. All that was left are the Lost and without blood they will die off soon.

He idly wondered if the Horrors would find him while he slept, but somehow the collapsed doorway made him doubt they would.

His eyes began to feel heavy as he continued to drink the blood, using it as fuel in his fight against the Queen's control.

As he drifted off he felt Io take his hand in her's holding it to her cheek.

He could see her lips moving but couldn't hear her words. But as his eyes finally shut he heard her say one final line.

"Sleep well... Oh King of Revenants."

Remnant: An untold amount of time later

As a Historian, Legends were something that Dr. Oobleck was intimatly familiar. One can not look at history without seeing tales of heroes who stood against impossible odds for the sake of the greater good.

Such heroes were often said to possess powers beyond imagination, almost like Magic.

From the Two Brothers, who were said to be godlike beings who created humanity and Faunus from dust, and the Grimm from shadow.

But according to some legends there were mentions of a Third race, created from Death, Blood and finally Ash.

These beings were said to have once been humans, but were brought back to life as Immortals to face a threat beyond even the Grimm, but vanished before they could perform their duties.

No one remembers these beings or even the threat they faced, the calamity from 10,000 years ago wiped the records of that time clean.

And yet here he, Dr Bartholomew Oobleck, was in the only ruin ancient enough to possibly be from even before the calamity!

He was living every Historian's dream!

... Or he would have been if it wasn't for these Mutated Grimm that occupied the place.

They were beasts of all shapes and sizes, beowolves, Ursai, deathstalkers, griffins, Drakes, Creeps, hell there were even a few Nevermores!

The issue was that they were all mutated.

The Beowolves had two extra heads! The Ursai were as fast as a spinning boarbatust! The deathstalker's tail could move like they were actually a snake's head! The Griffon's wings were covered in sharp steel like bone, and they freely used them like blades! And don't even get him started on the others!

The drakes were massive and breathed some sort of burning red liquid! The creeps now had spiked balls on their tails and said tails were now able to stretch! The nevermore was the most horrible in Dr. Oobleck's personal opinion.

And for great reason! For starters they were smaller and humanoid! Even had human legs and arms, which were connected to their wings. Their crow-like head remained the same but it now was able to stand and look like a human would! And that scared Oobleck.

The idea that a Grimm could grow old enough to evolve into a more human shape was a horrible thought.

Oobleck chose to avoid them as he silently examined the ruins of what once might have been a city on par with Mantle.

"Fasinating... to think that Humanity of that age had progressed in a similar manner as we have... Ozpin told me that before the calamity 10,000 years ago, Humanity was more... Medieval... perhaps Humanity has not come back from extinction just once... perhaps... Humanity has come back from extinction twice! Remarkable!" Oobleck muttered as he examined the ruins beneath the surface of Remnant.

He continued to examine the ruins around him for several more hours, until his trail led him to a large building.

"Hmmm... perhaps this was their Capital building? For their politicians?" Oobleck muttered in wonder at the architecture.

He sped his way towards the entrance and quietly peeked inside.

Nothing, not even a single Grimm. The only thing he noticed were hundreds of tubes and plant vines that seemed to converge towards a single location.

"Hmm... curiouser and curiouser..." He mused as he followed the tubes.

After around an hour of traversing on foot he came to a room, the doorway, which had obvious signs of previous collapse due to damage, was clear of any debris.

Oobleck narrowed his eyes and entered the chamber beyond the door.

What he saw made him gasp, it was a throne room, with a three headed wolf painted onto the floor in silver.

There was a massive skeleton of a creature that Oobleck didn't recognize.

His eyes drifted to the throne and he saw a person sitting there, his head was covered by a black hood, and what seemed like a gas mask covered his lower face.

The throne had several unique weapons impaled in front of it. And several large Chests were stacked up to the right of the throne.

"There's a person down here!?" Oobleck hissed in shock.

These ruins had only recently been discovered! In fact it had only been a week since they were unearthed. The public didn't even know about them yet! So how was there a person sitting on that throne?!

Oobleck made to approach but he suddenly stopped as he heard a voice.

"Hello... have you come to wake the King?" the voice was distinctly female.

Oobleck glanced around frantically and eventually noticed something he hadn't before. There was a girl, dressed in white tattered clothes, and a black hood with feathered tails from the shoulder, sitting at the base of the steps to the throne.

She was young looking, had messy whitish gray hair and a striking pair of golden eyes that seemed void of almost all emotion.

"Hello young lady! My name is Dr Bartholomew Oobleck. I'm a historian. I was sent here to examine these ruins. Might I ask who you are? And why you are here?" Oobleck asked.

"I am Io... I am the Attendant of my King." Io said to him simply.

"Your King? The gentleman up on the throne?" He asked.

"Yes..." Io nodded.

"Alright... but... what are you two doing here? How did you get here? There are Grimm everywhere in these ruins!" Oobleck asked.

Io tilted her head.

"Grimm?" She asked not understanding what he was refering to.

Oobleck paused at her confusion.

He began to suspect there was more to this girl than he knee.

"Yes. Grimm. They are the Black creatures covered in bone armor outside this building." Oobleck explained.

"I see... those are called Grimm... you do not need to worry. They do not approach this place." Io told him

"And why's that?" Oobleck asked genuinely curious.

"They know I will kill them if they do. I will defend my King until he awakens..." Io said.

"... And when will that be?" Oobleck asked, now sure that this girl and her 'king' weren't ordinary people.

Io looked up at the tubes, they were empty. She looked back at Oobleck.

"Soon..." She said.

"... I see. Well then... perhaps you could tell me a bit about this place? What it was? What these Ruins once were?" Oobleck asked.

Io considered it before nodding.

The next several hours were spent with Io telling Oobleck everything. The Great Collapse, the Horrors, the creation of Revenants, Code:Queen, The Queenslayer operation, their journey, their final battle and about Vein.

Oobleck was floored. Never in a million lifetimes could he have imagined such things having happened in their history.

He now wished the King, who's name he still didn't know, would awaken sooner so he can thank him for humanity's survival.

Oobleck thanked her and asked if she wanted to know about the outside world.

She accepted and he told her about the world after humanity had fallen... the first time. He told her that they had lived a more Medieval lifestyle, serving a pair of Gods who had recreated Humanity and created the Grimm. He told her that there had also been a calamity that brought humanity to the brink of extinction. And that the Grimm had begun to hunt humanity as a result. He told her about the huntsman and the academies that train them.

She enjoyed the story.

"That was a wonderful story Dr." Io said.

Oobleck smiled at the girl.

"You're very welcome Ms Io." Oobleck said.

Io looked about to reply when the ground began to shake, as hundreds of feet stormed the grounds towards the throne room.

"The Grimm!" Oobleck shouted in worry.

Io stood and approached the throne, where she grabbed a black and white Halberd.

"Forgive the disturbance my King... I shall defend you once again." Io muttered as she lifted the weapon.

She left the throne and made her way to Oobleck. Neither noticed the slight twitch of the Revenant King's fingers and eyelids.

"You may stand back if you wish... I can handle them..." She said.

While Oobleck had no doubts about that, his instincts as a huntsman denied that option.

"No need. I will aid you." He said as he activated his weapon, which was a coffee canteen that could extend into a fire emmiting scepter.

Io nodded at his choice.

"Very well... however please do not strain yourself." Io said.

"You don't have to worry about me. I am a huntsman myself after all." he said.

She nodded before facing the door.

Black and white masses exploded from the entrance as they clawed their way towards the Huntsman/Attendant duo.

Oobleck send a massive fireball at the horde of claws and hatred.

Io twirled her Dammerung before she rushed the horde.

Limbs and body parts soon were sent flying as Io cut through them like a 1000 degree knife through butter.

However the Grimm just kept coming! Tjere was no end to them! And Oobleck would run out of Fire dust at any time.

Io had also began to struggle to keep up with the seemingly infinite horde of Grimm. She wasn't used to prolonged fights like this.

But she would defend her King at all costs, who, unbeknownst to her had begun to open his eyes.

She tripped on a stray limb from a previously dismembered Grimm, and as a result was hit by a stray blow from a mutated Ursa.

Jaune's first sight as he awoke for the first time in nearly several hundred thousand years was his dear Io being launched across the room by some bear made of bone and shadow!

Time slowed around him as his eyes glowed in anger, he slowly pushed himself up and reached for once of the weapons impaled before the throne.

His hand found purchase on the Hilt of Executioner as he silently pulled the blade from its stone sheathe.

His eyes glowed brighter, and then he vanished in an instant.

The Bear soon found it offending limb removed faster than the eyes could see.

It roared and the rest of the Grimm looked towards it, as did Oobleck.

What they saw was that Io had been caught gently by the Hooded Revenant, his silver blade was in his right hand while his left cradled Io.

He narrowed his eyes at the monsters before him and then to Io.

"Io? Are you alright?" he asked, his voice hoarse from millennia of disuse.

She smiled at him.

"Yes my King... I am unhurt. I am happy you are finally awake." She said softly.

He nodded at her.

"Me too Io. Glad to be awake." he told her before his eyes sharped as he looked at the horde of black and bone.

"What are these things Io?" he asked seriously.

"Grimm..." she said simply.

He glanced at her and resolved that now was not the time for asking questions.

"Can you stand?" he asked her.

"Yes." She said as she stood up.

"Good. Now you just sit tight here... I'll take care if these... Grimm." he said as he stood to his full height.

He rotated his right shoulder as he walked up to the horde which, to Oobleck's amazment, flinched at his presence and took a step back.

He narrowed his glowing blue eyes at the monsters, before suddenly shifting and appearing within the horde, gently landing within the center.

There was a sight of several slashes of light in the Grimm around him and they suddenly are sliced into small pieces.

His arm sparked with flame and suddenly he swiped his arm in an arc, a large blade of fire cut several Grimm in half.

He spun and unleashed the gift his Executioner was engraved with.

Several crimson arcs sliced through the Grimm. Before he raised his hand and several wisps of blue energy appeared.

The wisps became bullets of Ice and launched themselves at the Grimm, killing those that were hit immediately.

Jaune then attacked with his sword, slicing any Grimm unfortunate enough to be in his path.

Oobleck stood back from the fighting, he wasn't needed in the slightest. He was in awe at the level of skill and power this one man displayed before him.

Jaune was experiencing his new powers gained from absorbing the Queen's power completely.

One thing he noticed was he could automatically recharge Ichor for his gifts, and at a relatively fast pace, almost instantly in fact.

Another thing he noticed was that he could create thorns of judgment like Cruz could.

He created small versions that he sent at any Grimm that tried to flee.

He had no intention of letting any of them escape.

The Revenant shifted his gaze towards the throne that had kept him safe for many years, and a familiar crimson blade drew his eye.

With but a thought he Shifted to the sword of his friend Louis, and grasped it in his left hand, he faced the Horde of Grimm with a slash through the air, the force sent a gale of air towards them, stirring up dust as it passed the Grimm.

"Enough playing around... Time to end this." Jaune's voice resounded through the room, sending chills through the spines of every Grimm in the building.

Jaune glowing glare pierced the very core of the Grimm, before he suddenly vanished in a burst of pure speed.

Oobleck felt air blast past him as the Revenant flew by, reaching speeds that surpassed his semblance indefinitely. He struggled to stand as the wind pushed by him.

He then heard the Grimm release sounds of pain and utter terror, as he turned to view tje fight.

It was utter carnage, Limbs flew as the Red and White blades sliced cleanly through them, their wielder seemed like he was dancing as he weaved and attacked Grimm after Grimm, killing each with only a single slice.

The scene was oddly beautiful to the Historian. The level of skill that surpassed all others Oobleck had met, was simply astounding.

He wondered if he could ask the King of Revenants to join Beacon academy's upcoming freshman, so he could use that skill against the Grimm in the world above.

Oobleck heard the sounds of fighting cease, snapping him from his thoughts.

He looked up to see the Revenant staring at him with suspicion.

"Ah! Hello! My name is-"

"I know who you are Historian, I could hear almost everything you and Io talked about. But I still don't trust you. Those Grimm, as you call them, had taken to avoiding this place until you arrived." Jaune glared at the Huntsman.

"Yes... my apologies, the Grimm are capable of sensing human emotions, and while they primarily are drawn to negative emotions they do actively seek humans in general. My scent must have told them of my presence." Oobleck told him.

"It's alright." Io said from beside the King, who narrowed his eyes at the man, but decided to relax his blades.

If Io trusted this man, then he would too.

"Try anything funny and you won't survive." The King said.

"Of that... I have no doubt." Oobleck agreed.

"Alright... so tell me, why exactly are you here. You're not here just to look at Old buildings of that I'm certain." The King questioned.

"You are partially correct Mr... I'm sorry what did you say your name was?" Oobleck asked.

"Jaune." The King introduced with a nod.

"No surname?" Oobleck asked.

"If I had one I have forgotten it. Remnants live for a long time, we tend to lose memories the longer we live." Jaune told him.

"Hmm... I see. Then do you have anything you wish to use as your last name?" Oobleck asked.

Jaune though about it for a second, before remembering a story from his childhood, what little he could remember anyways. The story was about a woman named Jeanne, who dressed as a man so she could fight in the war for her country's freedom. She went by the name Joan of Arc if he remembered correctly.

"... Arc. Call me Jaune Arc."

How did he get himself into this mess? Jaune wondered to himself as he sat on the monstrosity known as an Airship. He only recently found out he had motion sickness, luckily he had been given some pills to help him, courtesy of Dr Oobleck.

Somehow the historian had talked him into join the academy for training Huntsman.

"Hmph as if I need the training." Jaune huffed. He was grateful to the man though, he had gotten him and Io a place to stay for the past few months, while he taught them about the new world around them.

About Aura and Semblances. He had also been given an official identity as a citizen of Vale, along with Io. He had also met with the man known as Ozpin, their conversation was... an interesting one. But in the end he had been admitted to the school as a student from outside of Vale. He had also been given a cover story to explain his more unique abilities, which he was asked to hide most of.

Anyways...

He sat on his bench, alone. His Gas mask and Hooded appearance drew several stares. Executioner, which was beside him, drew just as many stares as he did.

The wicked but beautiful silver and white blade shined as the sun passed over the steel.

The shine caught his eyes and he smiled at the blade, he could tell it was happy to feel the sun on it's steel.

He was happy to feel the sun again as well, without the Miasma and Red Mist blocking it.

"Oh!! I can't believe my baby sister's coming to beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" A girl's voice said.

He looked to the voice and saw a rather beautiful girl with long messy but flowing blonde hair, a slightly darker shade than his own.

The 'baby sister' she was so happy to see, made him do a double take for a second.

She looked like that human he had saved from a Revenant who was after her blood, she had tried to take her own life but Yakumo had helped him and Louis talk her down. He had later taught her how to defend herself.

He did notice a key difference between that girl and the one the blonde was trying to crush in her grasp.

Her hair was a gradient shade of black and red. But there was one thing that was the same as the woman, her eyes were a striking shade of Silver almost like a mirror.

Could this girl be that woman's descendant? Such a thing was borderline impossible, but he couldn't help but wonder.

He shook his head and tore his eyes from the girls, returning to simply relaxing and letting the motion sickness pill do their job.

There was a small amount of turbulence that made his stomach churn. The sudden unease in his gut cause a small amount of vomit to rise into his mouth, but he forced it down.

He had taken to eating normal food as just a hobby, to taste it rather than for survival. He didn't need to eat food after all. Another thing he found he no longer needed to eat was Blood. The Effects of the Queen's power saw to that.

The whole point of the Code:Queen had been to create Revenants that no longer needed blood to survive. They succeeded at that, but it drove Cruz mad because of the sudden immediate changes to her body.

Him on the otherhand had spent thousands of years acclimating to the changes so he was perfectly sane. Well... as sane as any Revenant could be.

He was torn from his thoughts when the aircraft touched down on Beacon's landing pad.

He stood, grabbing Executioner, blade towards his rear, and made his way to the exit the aircraft with the other students.

As he exited a few caught his eye, a boy in green with black hair and a single pink streak in his hair. Beside him was a chatter box of a girl, Orange hair and white and pink clothing.

He could see that the boy wasn't at all bothered by the girl's constant chatter and moved on.

Another person he noticed was a redhaired woman in Spartan styled armor. He couldn't help but to stare at her, she was a beautiful woman. And he could see the strength and grace she carried as she walked.

She seemed to sense him staring and glanced at him, before giving a smile and a polite wave.

He nodded his head to her, before moving on.

His dismissal of her seemed to surprise her from what he could make out as he looked around the Academy.

Suddenly a familiar blonde girl dashed past him surrounded by a group of people.

A few seconds later he heard the sound of objects falling, followed by a voice.

"Ugh!? What are you doing?!"

He turned to the voice and nearly lost his breath.

Long beautiful white hair, tied in a side ponytail, her features were slender and petite, but nonetheless flawless. There was a scar over her left eye, but Jaune had seen worse scars especially on Eva, but that woman had been beautiful all the same.

A scratch like what the White haired girk had did nothing to dampen her angelic beautiful. His eyes were drawn to her side, where a rapier with a revolver's round chamber was. It reminded him of Iceblood, a golden rapier that could release blasts of ice.

"Must be for that Dust thing Oobleck told me about..." Jaune muttered.

He returned to looking at the girl and saw her shaking a bottle of red sand at a familiar girl in a red hood.

His eyes widened as he realized that the sand was Dust and that the girl was about to sneeze.

Jaune didn't know why he did, but he moved at high speeds and grabbed the white haired girl in a manner that his back blocked the dust, just as the red hooded girl sneezed.

(*KABOOM!*)

The explosion shook the ground, Jaune grit his teeth as he shielded the white girl from the heat and rock.

After the explosion died down he quickly released the girl.

Her eyes were wide as she stared up at him, clearly flushed from their close contact.

"Are you alright?" Jaune asked.

She nodded and then seemed to realize what had happened.

She pushed past him and because to yell at the red hooded girl.

"Do you see what you just did!? You nearly had us blown off the side of the cliff! I would have been hurt if it hadn't been for..." The girl paused as she realized she didn't know the name of the one who protected her.

"I'm sorry! I didn't catch your name." The girl asked.

"Jaune Arc, nice to meet you Ms...?" He asked.

"Schnee, Weiss Schnee, and the pleasure is all mine." she preened like her surname meant something to him.

He nodded silently, figuring that bursting her bubble that he didn't know what the name Schnee meant would Ruin her impression of him.

She whirled around and began to berate the girl again.

"If Jaune here hadn't stepped in I could have been left with severe burns!" Weiss berated the girl, who looked ready to cry.

"I-I! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" the girl said.

"Sorry? Sorry? You could have killed us! And you're sorry!? Ugh! I'm done with you!" Weiss growled.

She whirled around and looked at Jaune.

"Thank you for protecting me. I will be sure to repay the debt I owe you. Perhaps at a later date?" She asked him.

He just nodded, she was fierce, reminds him a lot of Mia when they first met.

"I wouldn't mind that." he said

She nodded, and walked briskly past him.

He looked at the red hooded girl who had been left behind.

"Hey... you alright?" he asked her, offering her a hand.

She sniffed and looked at him, immediately noticing his hood and then his blade.

She nodded.

"I'm sorry... I didn't meant to..." she muttered as he pulled her to her feet.

"I know. And it's alright. No harm done, well none that I haven't already regenerated." Jaune said to her softly.

She seemed to relax at his words.

"U-um... I-I'm Ruby. You're Jaune right?" She asked as they began to walk through the

"Yeah that's me. Jaune Arc." he said.

"Hmmm... short sweet and rolls off the tongue. I like it!" Ruby joked with a grin.

Jaune laughed, he'd once told that same joke when he was human, shame no one really found it funny.

They continued to talk for a bit talking, mostly about the school.

Eventually as they walked Ruby pulled out her weapon, Scythe that was also a highly compact sniper rifle.

"So... I got this thing." she said showing off her weapon.

"A scythe?" he asked, slightly amazed that something so large could be concealed so easily.

"Yup! It's also a highly compact sniper rifle." She said.

He rose a brow at her, to which she responded by turning it into its gun form.

"It's also a gun." she said with a smirk.

"Ah." he nodded, inwardly wondering why she didn't just used a bayonet like the Revenants did. All those moving parts had to be a pain to maintain.

"So uh... what about your weapon?" She asked, gesturing to his sword.

"This is Executioner... it originally belonged to a friend... he was also my teacher, but he passed it onto me when he was killed." Jaune said with nostalgic sadness at the memory of Jack's final death.

Ruby looked at him with worry that she had made him sad.

"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to make you sad..." She muttered.

He shook his head.

"No its alright. You didn't know, but it's fine, Jack died with a smile, he'd lost everything and in the end was allowed to finally rest peacefully. Being depressed that he's gone would insult everything he and everyone I loved died for. So I keep going for those I've lost." Jaune said with a smile.

His words hit Ruby in a place she had kept secret from her family. Her grief for her mother, that she had locked away, suddenly felt lighter.

She smiled brighter at her new friend.

"Yeah! Of course! That's a good way to look at things!" Ruby said.

He looked at her curious and could visibly see her eyes seemed brighter, as if a weight from mind had been lifted.

He could see the telltale signs of someone on mourning, and chose to not ask about it.

Jaune suddenly paused as he realized something.

"Hey Rubes...?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are we?" he asked, they were in what looked like a garden with a Fountain.

"Oh! I don't know... I was following you." Ruby admitted.

Jaune sighed and began to look around for anyone around.

He saw a beautiful girl with long black hair and a Black bow on her head and amber eyes.

Jaune decided to ask her for directions.

"Excuse me miss. Do you know which way the auditorium is?" Jaune asked her as he and Ruby approached.

She tensed at his approach, having not even sensed his presence before that moment.

She pointed back towards the way they came.

"Back that way, follow the rest of the students. Can't miss it." She said cautiously.

He nodded in thanks.

"Thanks. Sorry to startle you. I'm used to having to tread quietly, it's kept me alive." He apologized.

She nodded in understanding and seemed to relax.

"Understandable. One needs to be careful when it comes to survival." She said.

Jaune nodded sagely. "You're preaching to the choir there sister." he joke, which prompted a small smirk from the girl.

"I'm Blake first year, and you are?" she asked.

"Jaune also a first year." he said simply.

"I guess I'll be seeing you around then, who knows we may even end up as teammates." She said as she walked away.

"Yeah sure. Be seeing ya Blake." Jaune said with a small wave.

He turned back to Ruby, only to see her gaping at him.

"What?" He asked confused.

"How do you do that!?" she asked him.

"What?" he repeated.

"That!" she said pointed to where Blake had gone.

"I'm not following..." He said.

"How can you just walk up to random people so easily and be so cool when talking to them!" Ruby asked.

"Uh... I was just being myself?" He asked unsure.

"No way that's all there is!" she accused.

Jaune decided to tease her a bit.

"Actually you're right Ruby, there is more to it. You see I have certain charm that one is born with! It makes people easier to talk to and makes girls fall madly in love with me, even if they don't realize it." Jaune said with a suave tone.

Ruby eeped at his love comment, blushing madly.

He laughed at her reaction.

"I'm kidding Rubes! Hahaha!" Jaune laughed, he had made this Joke with Murasame once and she ended up becoming a tomato.

Yakumo ended up teasing her about it for days, until she blasted him with her ricocheting flame gift, Dancing Blaze

That day was a fun one, the dodging of fireballs aside.

Ruby puffed her cherry red cheeks at him, looking like a pouting chipmunk.

He snickered at her and simply poked her cheek. She blew a raspberry when he did so. Making them both giggle.

"We better get going. Don't wanna miss Ozpin's big speech." Jaune said.

Ruby agreed with a grin.

The two set off towards where Blake had pointed.

They arrived several minutes later, entering the crowd of students.

Suddenly they heard a familiar voice call out to them, or more specifically, to Ruby.

"Hey Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" The buxom blonde sister of Ruby called out.

"Oh! There's my sister Yang! Gotta go! Talk to you later Jaune!" Ruby said as she raced towards her sister.

Jaune waved half-heartedly.

"Great... now where am I gonna find a nice quirky girl to talk to." He muttered as he began to wander around, oblivious of the the red haired spartan that was watching him.

He walked around and as he was passing by Ruby and her sister, along with a familiar white haired girl.

"Yeah and we can braid our hair, paint our nails and talk about cut boys! Like tall, hooded and mysterious over there!" Weiss said with faux enthusiasm in her tone, pointing her thumb at Jaune who was passing by.

"Um... How do you know he's cute? We haven't seen his face." Yang asked.

Weiss sputtered at her and glared at the blonde.

"I was being facetious!" Weiss said, her cheeks red.

"I don't know Weiss, you could have picked any of the other guys here but you did pick on Jaune." Ruby lightly teased.

"Oh don't you start!" Weiss glowered at the girl.

"What's up? I heard my name?" Jaune said as he walked up.

"Oh now I see why you think he's cute Princess, he's got a nice voice." Yang purred at the girl.

Jaune blinked.

"Uuh... thanks?" he asked confused.

"The name's Yang Xiao Long." she introduced herself with a mock salute.

"Jaune Arc. Nice to officially meet you. Ruby talked about you a lot." he said.

"Dude!" Ruby sputtered in embarrassment.

Now that Yang was now set on teasing her little sister, Weiss decided to to sneak away from the group in a huff.

Jaune watched her go quietly.

Suddenly the sound of the microphone activating drew their attention to the stage, where a older gentleman and a blonde woman stood.

"Ahem... Welcome new students of beacon academy. I am sure most of you have been told you are the best and brightest of your generation. That you were destined for greatness... But I look amongst you and see wasted energy... in need of a purpose. At this school we will aid you in becoming stronger and bettering yourselves, but a purpose is something we cannot give. You all must decide what your purpose is for yourselves. That is all." Ozpin said as he exited the stage.

The blonde woman stepped up and spoke.

"For the night you will all sleep in the dining hall. Those who pass tomorrow's initiation shall recieve dorms of their own. Oh and would Jaune Arc please follow me." The woman said.

Jaune silently slipped away before his new friends could look at him.

He approached the woman, who waited for him backstage.

"You wished to see me Ma'am?" Jaune asked her politely.

She nodded.

"Yes Ozpin instructed me to inform you that even if you were to fail you have been offered a student teacher's position. And because of your... condition, acceptance is mandatory. As we do have to keep a close watch on you." The woman said with a slight glare.

He nodded at her, having been told this might happen by Oobleck.

"I understand." He said

Her gaze softened once he agreed.

"I apologize for the tone I have been using, however my student's safety is my top priority. I'd like you to promise me you won't... feed on them..." She told him.

"You don't need to worry. I no longer need blood in order to live. If I wanted a boost in power that only blood could give then I would ask for consent before hand. I may be a Revenant... but I was once human too." Jaune told her.

She nodded, his answer was acceptable to her.

"Thank you. I apologize for my prejudice." She said.

"It's alright Ma'am. I'm used to this. Humanity naturally fears what they do not have knowledge or understanding of. It is the reason Humanity has survived as long as it has." Jaune told her.

"Goodwitch." The woman said suddenly.

"Pardon?" he asked.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You may call me Ms. Goodwitch or Professor Goodwitch. However outside of school or during your time as my Assistant in Combat class you may call me whatever you choose so long as it is Professional." Glynda said.

"Understood Madame Goodwitch." Jaune said.

She blinked at his choice of how he addressed her, she quite like that actually. It made her sound... high class.

"Ahem..." she cleared her throat a slight dusting of pink on her cheeks, "very well that will suffice as well. You may leave now Mr Arc. And please... don't wear that hood and mask to bed... that would be plain odd." She sighed at him.

He nodded.

"Of course. I always take these off when I sleep. The only reason I couldn't so many years ago was due to the Miasma in the Throne Room." He sighed.

She nodded in relief. Although she would be lying if she said she wasn't curious about his appearance. Only Oobleck had the luxury of seeing it.

Jaune excused himself, and left the woman alone.

He went to where his things had been stored, according to the Scroll, a device that was like a Phone, he had been provided by Oobleck.

Once he reached the locker room, he found one of his storage trunks, one of the ones he used back at the hideout in the Gaol of Mists.

Apparently while he slept Io had gone out alone and collected all of his belongings, and brought them to the throne room.

He and Io had brought them to their house on a small island near Vale, Patch if he remembered correctly.

That was where most of his belongings were, he kept most of the weapons he had collected during his quest to revitalize bloodsprings with Louis and the rest back at the house with Io.

He only brought with him a few of the weapons he owned and one of each of the other blood veil types. He probably wouldn't need or used them but it was a good idea to have them. There was also some basic necessities he would need while at Beacon, Spare clothes, toiletries, and other bathroom supplies.

He gathered his sleepwear for the night, a simple tank top and shorts. He removed his Mask and Blood Veil, revealing his sunlight blonde hair and Cerulean eyes that seemed to glow in the light. His handsome features, chisled by constant physical effort, were voice of all baby fat, the left side of his lips had a barely noticeable scar cut through them.

He placed his gear into the trunk before grabbing a towel and soap for the shower.

He then closed and locked the trunk, before making his way to the male bathroom. He entered the shower room where there were several other men.

His looks gathered a few stares from the more open minded males. He ignored the looks and went one of the open cubbies for his belongings.

He began to strip off his shirt, revealing a cut torso, both figuratively and literally.

He had several wicked scars on his entire torso, including one directly over his heart, he had received that when he had killed the Queen and nearly Frenzied from her blood becoming part of him. Jack took it into his hands to finish him off, and had stabbed him in the chest.

It had only been because of Cruz's blood that he hadn't completly turned to ash, and was only in an ashlike state for a time. He did however lose his memories completely for a time, then he had met Io some many years after.

The scars drew even more stares from the other men, which he ignored as he continued to strip. Nudity was nothing to him, Revenants found the concept of embarrassment about being naked around people of either gender completely stupid.

Once finished he wrapped his towel around his waist and entered one of the free shower booths with his shampoo/bodywash.

He took his time showering, he prefered the hotspring back at the Hideout but a shower was nice too.

Once finished he dried himself with his towel and rewrapped it onto his waist, before exiting the booth and returning to his cubby.

He removed the towel and got dressed into his clothing, noticing a familiar face was near his cubby.

It was the black and pink haired boy, Ren the chatty girl had called him.

The teen seemed to noticed his stare.

"Yes?" he asked.

"Oh sorry. Just recognized you from earlier today, you were with that orange haired chatty girl." Jaune apologized and explained.

Ren nodded.

"Nora, she's my childhood friend, we've been together since we were kids." Ren told him.

"But not Together together!"a certain orange haired girl said as she poked her head into the men's room, prompting a girly squeal from a poor boy who was completely naked near her.

She removed her head when Ren threw his sandal at her.

Jaune laughed at their antics.

"You two are close." he agreed.

Ren sighed but nodded with a smile.

"Oh I'm Jaune Arc by the way." Jaune introduced himself, holding a hand out to the teen who took it.

"Lie Ren, just call me Ren." He greeted.

"Nice to meet you Ren. I hope we can work together sometime." Jaune said.

"Likewise." Ren said with a small smile.

The two men then parted ways as they exited the bathroom. Ren went to find Nora and Jaune decided to just go to the dinning room, where the rest of the students were.

He gathered many stares and red cheeks from majority of the female populous as he walked passed them.

He looked around for his friends noticing Yang was staring at him with half-lidded eyes and a saucy smirk.

He blinked at that and waved.

She sent him wave back, curling her fingers as she did so.

He shrugged at her weird actions and just decided to find a place to sleep for the night.

Once he found he set up when he heard a familiar girl talking to Yang and Ruby and that girl Blake. It was Weiss. He decided to go say hello to his new friends.

Minutes before Jaune entered the Room

Ruby lay on her sleeping bag as she wrote letters to her friends at her old School Signal.

"Hey sis! Whatcha doing?" Yang asked as she layed on her side next to Ruby.

"Oh! I'm writing letters to my friends at Signal, since they couldn't join me I told them I'd write all about it." Ruby said with a sad smile.

"That is so cute of you!" Yang said as she tried to give her little sister a noogie.

"Gah! Stop it Yang!" Ruby struggled in her hold.

"Hahaha! Ok ok I'll stop." Yang laughed as she returned to her own sleeping bag.

"So anyways sis, whatcha think of beacon so far?" Yang asked.

"It's alright I guess. The sleep over is nice... I don't think dad would approve of all the boys though..." Ruby said.

"I know I do." Yang said with a purr, as she eyed some of the flexing males.

It was then that a ripped looking hunk of a blonde walked in and glanced around the room.

"Mreow! Look at that one!" Yang purred as she eyed the blonde.

Ruby followed her gaze and immediately flushed as she understood what her sister meant.

"Ew Yang gross!" Ruby sputtered.

"Hey that one there is definitely not Gross!" Yang argued, her gaze not leaving the blonde.

It was then the Blonde teen turned his gaze towards Yang and waved at her.

She waved back, using her fingers like they were claws as she purred at him.

The blonde seemed to not understand as he shrugged and walked away.

Yang pouted as he left.

"Darn..." she clicked her tongue.

Ruby snickered at her, which prompted a flick to the forehead from Yang.

"Ow!" Ruby pouted as she rubbed her forehead.

Ruby then noticed the girl Blake from earlier.

She remembered how Jaune was able to talk to her so easily and gathered up her courage.

She stood, and made her way to the girl, Yang following behind her.

"Hi." Ruby greeted as she got close to the girl.

The girl looked up from the book she was reading and seemed to recognize her.

"Aren't you that girl who was with Jaune earlier?" She asked.

Ruby nodded and spoke "Mhm! My name's Ruby Rose, but you can just call me Ruby."

"I'm Blake." she replied.

"And I'm Yang Ruby's older sister! Nice to meet you." Yang said an arm over Ruby's shoulder.

Blake nodded as she stared at them.

There was an awkward silence before Yang spoke up.

"I like your bow! It goes great with your... Pajamas!" Yang tried to make small talk.

"Thank you... now if you would excuse me... I would like to get back to this book... as soon as you leave." Blake said.

"Alright! This one's a lost cause! Come on Ruby let's-"

"What's it about?" Ruby interrupted her sister.

"What?" Blake asked.

"Your book. What's it about?" Ruby repeated.

"U-uh it's called Revenant. It's a Legend about a race of undead humans and faunus, called Revenants, they were created by the the brother gods to face a threat that nearly led humanity to extinction. But something happened and they all vanished, according to the legend anyways." Blake told her.

"Oh! I know that one! How the last Revenant sacrificed himself to save the world, and is said to be sleeping for eternity, or until the world needs him again!" Ruby said.

Blake nodded with a small smile.

"I love books, they're like other worlds I can escape to whenever I need. Yang used to read to me all the time when we were kids. I used to imagine myself as the hero of the stories! It's part of the reason that I wanted to be a huntress." Ruby told Blake, much to Yang's embarrassment.

"That's... rather ambitious for a child... but unfortunately the world isn't that black and white..." Blake said with a slight narrowing of her eyes.

"Yeah... but that's why we're here right? To make it better." Ruby said, Yang had a look of pride on her face.

Blake's eyes widen slightly, and she smiled.

Before she could respond however a certain heiress appeared out of thin air.

"So you mind? Some people are trying to sleep." Weiss said.

"Oh not you again!?" Yang and Weiss exclaimed in unison as they recognized eacj other.

"Shhhh! Guys she's right there are people trying to sleep." Ruby hissed.

"Oh so now you're on my side?" Weiss said with a roll of her eyes.

"I never wasn't on your side!" Ruby hissed back at her.

"Hey Ladies what going on?" The voice of Jaune came from behind them.

Weiss Hmphed and smirked, her eyes closed as she turned to face Jaune.

"Jaune please tell them that... they're being... loud... oh wow..." Weiss' words drifted as she finally looked at Jaune's face for the first time.

"Huh? Loud? I couldn't hear anything loud. I just came over to say Hi." Jaune said as she scratched the back of his head, his large and firm bicep rippled as he did so.

Yang and Ruby gaped at him as they realized the blonde boy Yang was purring at was in reality their friend Jaune.

Blake seemed to not care, but she did glance up from her book several times.

"Dude! You're fucking hot?!" Yang exclaimed in shock.

"Uh... thanks? You're not bad to look at yourself." Jaune compliments.

"Why do you hide your looks with that mask and hood!?" Yang asked him.

"What? No that mask is meant to protect my face and filter out any harmful gases in the air. It's purely practical reasons. And the hood helps keep blood out of my hair, it's hard to wash blood out of my shade of blonde." Jaune explained.

Yang nodded sagely at his knowledge of his hair.

"But then why don't you take it off when you're not fighing?" Ruby asked.

Weiss was still in Lala land fantasizing about a blonde haired knight escorting a white haired princess and the two slowly fell for each other.

"Cause you never know when a fight will happen! Plus... the hood is comfortable and keeps the sun out of my eyes, my eyes are kinda sensitive to light so I use that to dampen it somewhat." Jaune said.

Blake nodded at his explanation, her eyes were also light sensitive so she could relate.

Weiss finally snapped out of her fantasies and asked him another question.

"So where are you from?" She asked.

"I'm from a place called Vein, my friend's used to just call it the Gaol of Mists." Jaune said.

"Oh where's that?" Weiss asked.

Jaune thought about it for a second. The Ruins had been on the Anima continent so...

"It's in the mountains of Anima. There used to be a lot of poisonous Mist, thus the need for the Gas mask, surrounding the place keeping it hidden from the rest of the world." Jaune said.

"Oh? Interesting? What happened to it." Weiss asked.

"Grimm got in and eventually Vein was discovered by more people. One of the professors at Beacon invited me here when he saw my skills in combat against the Grimm." Jaune said, using the backstory that he and Oobleck had come up with.

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that about the Grimm." Weiss seemed genuinely apologetic.

"Eh it's all good. Me and Io were the only ones remaining there anyways. The rest either died or succumbed to the Mist." Jaune said.

Ruby noticed that he had said succumbed to the Mist instead of dying to it.

She brought that up with Jaune and he sighed.

"The Mist was actually more of a Miasma, it held many poisons and diseases in it, we needed the masks to filter out the mist from the clean air. The diseases weren't normal either, they were actually tiny microscopic parasitic Grimm that would possess their host if they inhaled it. Driving them to kill everyone around them, there was no cure for a completely Frenzied person, we did discover we could suppress them by using fresh blood, from hospitals and willing donors mind you." Jaune told them, according to Oobleck such Grimm do exist so they decided to use that as part of his backstory.

Ruby gasped, covering her mouth.

Yang looked a bit queasy at the mental picture.

"What happened to those who couldn't be Suppressed?" Blake asked him.

"... They were killed... but they couldn't truly die. The parasites would regenerate their bodies and they would rise again. The only way to kill them completely was to destroy their heart." Jaune told them.

Weiss could help but be horrified by his story.

He had said he and this Io person were the last ones of Vein meaning he had to watch his friend's and family die while he lived.

Jaune could see what his story had done to the mood.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to be such a downer." he said scratching his head awkwardly.

"No no! You're alright! We didn't realize you had such a rough past." Yang waved off his apology.

"It's alright, besides it's not all bad. We actually made the best of our situation and began to study the Parasitic Grimm virus. And actually managed to create weapons and armor using them. We call them Blood Veils. My hood is one of them." Jaune said with a grin.

They didn't know what to think about the fact that their friend had literally been wearing a Grimm the whole day he was with them.

"I... don't know what to say about that." Weiss said skeptically.

"It's alright. I'm sure you'll see it tomorrow during the Initiation." Jaune said.

She nodded hesitantly. Then she remembered something.

"Oh you mentioned someone named Io? Who are they?" Weiss asked.

"Oh! Io is my friend and Attendant." Jaune said.

"Attendant? Like a maid?" Ruby asked.

"Well... yes but also no. Io is not my maid." Jaune said.

"Why do you have a maid?" Yang asked.

"Not a Maid. But I have an Attendant because I was the King of Vein." Jaune said with a smile.

They went silent at his words before Yang started laughing.

"Hahaha! Nice one! But seriously why do you have a Maid?" Yang asked again.

Jaune deadpanned at her.

"Wait... you're for real!? You were an actual King!?" Yang exclaimed in shock.

Weiss drifted off back into her fantasies, this time about a beautiful white haired princess who met a young handsome blonde king and they fell in love at first sight.

.Ruby sweatdropped as she could literally see the image in a dream cloud above Weiss' head.

Blake narrowed her eyes at Jaune, his story seemed familiar to her ears, she couldn't tell why though.

Yang was in shock at the discovery that Jaune was a King.

Jaune looked slightly uncomfortable after his reveal.

"Yeah... honestly though I didn't want to be the king... it's just happened... the other successors and the previous King all Frenzied and I ended up having to fight them." Jaune said.

They nodded at his explanation, except Weiss who was still in lala land.

They talked briefly about other topics, books, life outside of Vale, Etc. Weiss even joined in as they talked like regular kids.

Eventually they knew it was late and all needed to go to their respective sleeping bags.

Coincidentally Jaune's was right next to Weiss, who turned red at finding out the object of her fantasies was going to be sleeping right next to her.

Jaune said a quick good night to Weiss who hummed slightly as her embarrassed response. He got into his sleeping bag and relaxed allowing his eyes to drift closed.
