Chapter three

The following morning, Harry meets Hermione in the great hall for breakfast. Everyone was staying away from Harry as they sat down and began eating. Halfway through, Professor McGonagall approached them. "Potter, the headmaster, and I want to know where you slept last night." She said. "All the headmaster needs to know is I was safe and, in the castle," Harry said coldly. McGonagall couldn't help but feel hurt by Harry's coldness. She decided to show an olive branch. She sat down next to harry. "Harry, I know I have failed you in the past, and you may never forgive me for that. But I do care about you. I see you are angry, and I don't want you to bottle it up. Go flying or down by the lake. There are some large boulders. Take your rage out on them. If you ever want to talk, my door is always open." She said. Harry bit her lip, listening to her teacher. "Professor. Some people wish to control everything I do to a point I can't breathe. Because of that, I find it hard to trust adults. I appreciate the concern and the advice." Harry said as she looked at the head table, glaring at Dumbledore. McGonagall knew what Harry meant about control. She patted Harry's hand before returning to the head table.

"McGonagall, Did Mr potter tell you where he was last night," Dumbledore asked. "Miss Potter, say she was in the castle, and she was safe. I am tired of failing my students, which will change starting today. Snape, as of right now, you are on probation. Every time you give and take points, along with detention, will be reviewed. If I see an abuse of power, you will be terminated. Am I understood?" She said to Snape, who just looked at her in shock. "Minerva, I don't think that…." McGonagall cut Dumbledore off. "AM I UNDERSTOOD, SNAPE" she repeated. "Crystal, ma'am," Snape said, bowing to her. "You might want to inform your snakes as well. I'll be making changes. No more bullying of any form. And if someone doesn't like it, he can vote me out." She said, finishing her breakfast. Minerva knew that the rest of the staff agreed with her, so she was safe.

"I think you started something," Hermione said. Harry shook her head. "we'll have to see. I am going back to the library. Due to being a champion, I don't have to attend classes. I am going to work on the egg some more." She said as harry packed her bag and walked off. Hermione watched her leave with sadness. After learning about her past, Hermione wishes there was something she could do.

Ron sat in Harry's seat. "Hey Hermione, you and Harry seem to get along still. Is there any way you can pass a message to him...her for me" he said. "Ronald, I am not an owl. If you want to talk to Harry, grow a pair, slip on some big boy pants, and go talk to her." Hermione said as she packed her bag and headed to her first class.

Harry started walking toward the library but stopped. She was thinking about what McGonagall said about the boulder near the lake. She looked at her hand, which was shaking a bit. Harry knew her magic wanted to be let out. 'I guess it wouldn't hurt, Harry thought and went outside to the lake. It didn't take her long to find the boulders. She sat her bag down and stared at the boulder, thinking of everything done to her. She clenched her fist and threw her first spell. "STUPEFY" Harry yelled. The boulder shattered into pieces. She threw another until she had destroyed the boulders into little pebbles. Harry was breathing heavily once she was done.

"Harry?" someone called her name. she turned and saw Hagrid. "Are you alright?" he said. "Yeah, just relieving some tension." She said, rubbing her hand. "How did you do that without a wand?" Hagrid asked as he got closer. "I haven't felt the need to use a wand since the first test. It doesn't feel right anymore." Harry said, looking at her hand. The shaking had stopped. Her magic was calm for now. "McGonagall ask me to find you. You left the great hall before you could hear her announcement. All Gryffindors fourth year and up are to report to the west hall for a meeting." He said. For some reason, Hagrid could tell Harry didn't want to talk right now. Harry nodded and grabbed her bag. "Thank you, Hagrid. I'll come by later for tea." Harry said before walking back up to the castle.

Hermione met Harry at the west hall entrance. "What do you think this meeting is about?" she said. "I don't know, maybe something to do with the tournament," Harry said as they took their seat. Harry noticed the boys were on one side and the girls on the other. A few moments later moment later Professor McGonagall walked in. "As a tradition of the tri wizard tournament, our guests and we gather in the great hall for a bit of fun on Christmas eve night, for a yule ball. The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the world's attention for the last several millennia. I will not have you all insult his house by acting like a bunch of monkeys. I say this because the Yule ball is a dance." She said.

Everyone immediate talking, chatting excitedly while harry just rolled her eyes. She wasn't interested in a dance. "Silence, today we will talk about the dance. Inside, every girl is a beautiful swan while every boy is a mighty loin. Mr. Weasley will you join me" she said as she showed them the waltz. After a bit, she motioned everyone to find a partner. The girls, except for Harry, got up. The boys refuse at first. Neville got up and walked over to Harry, holding out his hand. Everyone watched with curiosity. Harry looked at Neville, who looked at her hopefully. She gave him a small smile before taking his hand.

For some reason, everyone sat back down, unsure what would happen. Ginny scooted closer to Hermione. "what the hell?" she whispered to her as Neville and Harry began to waltz across the floor. "Neville was the only one besides me who believed Harry didn't enter her name," Hermione explained. "I can't say I am surprised. With Neville being Harry's god brother," Alicia Spinnet said behind them. Hermione spun around to face. "what?" she asked. "Harry's mother lily was Neville's godmother while Neville's mother Alice was Harry's. That's where everyone originally thought Harry was all this time, with the Longbottoms. When Neville and Harry show up here, everyone discovers that wasn't the case." Alicia said.

The music stops, and Harry and Neville bow to each other. Neville kisses the back of Harry's hand before letting it go. McGonagall clapped her hand, which caused everyone else to join her. "Well done. Class, take note that you ask a lady to dance and how you should end the dance. You are dismissed. Potter could stay for a bit. Please." She said. Everyone got their things and started to leave, thinking about who was going to take who to the dance. "Thanks for the dance, Harry," Neville said. "Thank you for standing behind me," Harry said. "Always. I am here if you need me." He said.

Harry nodded and rejoined Hermione. "Harry, I just got information on your family." She said. "Hermione, if it's not documented somewhere, it might not be true." Harry said. "Still." Hermione shrugged, knowing Harry could be right. "What is it." Harry said, know it will beg Hermione until she found out. "According to Alicia spinet, Neville's mother is your godmother, and your mother was his. So, you two are god siblings." She said. "I was wondering if I had one. But still, we don't know if this information is true. I don't even know if my parents had a will. I can't go to Gringotts to find out." Harry said.

They both thought for a second when an idea popped into Hermione's head. "You could find out using a heritage potion. It will show you your parents, siblings you might have, godparents and any other relatives. I know where to find the recipe and ingredients." Hermione said. "Miss granger," Professor McGonagall said as she walked, overhearing what they were talking about. "Even though that potion is a simple one, you still need a teacher to supervise. Get the recipe and ingredients and come to my office." She said. Hermione nodded and ran off. "I am surprised you are letting us do this." Harry said, looking at her teacher. "You deserve to know about your family and if it's true about Neville. We might have a way to get you away from the Dursleys." McGonagall said. "That is hopeful wishing. I believe that Dumbledore wants me to stay at the Dursleys for some reason, and he will do anything to stop me from going anywhere else." Harry said sadly. McGonagall nodded sadly, but she was still going to try.

"Anyway. You will need to open the dance at the ball as part of the tournament. It would be best if you found a decent partner, Maybe Mr. Longbottom," McGonagall suggested. Harry looked over her shoulder to see Neville talking to Ginny. "I don't think that possible. But does it have to be a current student?" she said, thinking of a redhead who said he would help her with anything. "No, but I need to know who to allow them into the school." McGonagall said, curious about whom Harry was thinking. "Let me talk to someone and get back to you." Harry said with a smile. "Shell, we go to my office." McGonagall said.

A little bit later, Hermione was on the floor making the potion. It was a silver blue and didn't smell bad like the other potion they did in the past. "I am going to have to review the potions class. Snape is always complaining about the other houses. You have sat here and did an almost perfect potion in under an hour." McGonagall said, very impressed with Hermione's skill. "it's easy when Snape does not yell at us for stupid stuff." Harry said, looking over her potions textbook. "Anyway, it's ready. I got two vials, and I figure I will do it too, just for kicks." Hermione said as she bottled the potion and handed one to Harry. "now what?" Harry said. "you have put three drops into the potion and then take the eye drop and drop five drops onto the paper." Hermione said as she took a pin and poked her finger. Harry repeats the possess and then drops five drops onto the paper. The paper glow, and writing show up.

Harry was impressed. Now she knew her parents' full names and grandparents' names and found that Neville being her godbrother, was true. Who was Rebecca black? It looked like she disappeared the year before she was born. She looked over at Hermione, who was shaking badly. "Mione, what's wrong?" Harry said. Hermione didn't say anything, just handed the paper to Harry. Harry looked at it with wide eyes.

Harry now knew why Hermione was shaking. She had been lied to for her whole life. "Mione?' harry asked, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Who am I?" she asked. "According to this, my god sister and I couldn't be happier." She said, pulling Hermione into a hug. That seems to help Hermione a bit. It brought her back to focus. She could talk to her stepparents this summer.

"This does answer a few questions but raise a few more as well." Professor McGonagall said, looking over both papers. "What do you mean? Professor." Hermione said. McGonagall lay Harry's report in front of them and pointed to the + child. "Normally, this means you have a child, but it has no name. Kind like it was just born, and there is no record yet." She said. "crap," harry said with wide eyes. "Harry language," Hermione said. "Do you want to tell us something, Harry?" The professor asked. Harry stared at the paper, debating whether to tell them or not. In the end, she knew she had to tell them. "I need an oath. From both of you." She said. Both Hermione and McGonagall look at her in shock. "Please, it's for safety; I can't risk it," she said. They both nodded and agreed to the oath.

After Hermione and Minerva said their oath, Harry took them to the 7th floor, looked around to see if anyone was looking, and waved her hand to show a door. They walk inside to see Dobby clean as last time. "Oh, mistress, I wasn't expecting you." He said. "I know, Dobby. Where is the little prince?" Harry said. "In his playroom, playing, we just woke up from a nap." Dobby said. "Thank you, Dobby, could you please bring us some tea and cookies? Chocolate milk for him." Harry said, smiling.

Dobby nodded and disappeared. Harry led them down the hall into a large playroom with lots of toys and stuffed animals. "Mama," someone callout, and they saw a little four-year-old boy crawling over to them. Harry picked up and hugged him. "This is my son, sort of." Harry said, not looking at them. "Sort of, Harry? he is either is or is not." Hermione said. "do you want some cookies and chocolate with mama and aunt mione and miss McGonagall?" Harry asked. The little boy nodded his head, snuggling in close.

They walk back to a living room where Dobby was waiting with tea for them and chocolate milk in a sippy cup for the little one. Harry and the little boy sat down on the couch while Hermione and McGonagall as in the love seats. "Do you remember me telling you about the angel who saved me." Harry ask. Hermione nodded, knowing it's hard for Harry to hard about. "Quick recap, Hermione can give you the details, but you were right what you told Dumbledore all those years ago. The Dursley are bad people. When I was four years old, Vernon beat me till I was close to death. It seems I did die, according to the results, but an angel saved me. She made it where they couldn't touch me ever again. During the first task, she saved me again. This time she merged with me and created the harry you see before you. So now I am free of all binds that were put on me. I think somehow, she created this child as well. This is also harry. I don't understand it well, so don't ask. I claim this child as mine, and I will do anything to keep him safe, even from Dumbledore. I think that is why he is developmentally behind. He is four, but he is mentally two or 3," Harry said as the little one drank his chocolate milk in her lap happily.

McGonagall now understood why Harry demanded the oath. Dumbledore would try to take this child and put him with either the Dursley only to be abused again or another abusive family. "I'll help you protect this child. He will need a name though we can't call him harry cause it would be too confusing." She said. "Can I make a suggestion," Hermione asked, smiling at the little boy. Harry looked at her. "Godric Harold Potter, it just seems right," she said. Harry smiled and gently took the sippy cup from the boy. "What do you think, my little prince, Godric potter? Is that your name?" Harry asked. Godric just smiled and laughed, clapping his hands. "Godric it is," Harry said, laughing. Suddenly her paper glow showed Harry Jamie potter- Mother to Godric Harold Potter. Everyone smile.

After a bit, Hermione and McGonagall left, leaving Harry and Godric sitting in front of the friendly, warm fire. Harry wasn't for sure if Dobby did that or the castle did. Sometimes the school would do things for him, like not move the steps or open a shortcut. Harry kept telling herself to find out if the castle was alive, but she always forgot. "Mama story?" Godric said, looking up at her. "In one moment, baby. Mama needs to write a letter to someone." Harry said, smiling. "Letter, friend?" Godric said. "Yes, sweetie, to a friend." She said as she put Godric down, then pulled out a parchment and a pen,

Dear Charlie,

I am asking for a favor. I know it's sudden, but due to the tournament, we are hosting a yule ball on Christmas eve night. I was hoping you would be willing to attend with me. I don't trust most boys in this school. I don't know why but I feel like I can trust you. Please let me know if you can come.

Thanks

Harry

Hedwig drops down from the rafters and sticks her leg out. "How do you know whenever I need you?" Harry said. Hedwig just gave a hoot hoot as if she was saying, I just know. "Pretty birdy," Godric said, looking at Hedwig. Harry smiled as she picked him back up. "Hedwig, this is my son, Godric. Sweetie, be nice." Harry said as Godric held his little hand up. Hedwig looks at Harry and this child before gently pushing her head against his hand. Harry chuckled slightly as her son and pet became friends. Harry gently ties the letter, and they watch her fly away. "Be safe," she said. "Bew Safe," Godric said, copying her. "You want that story now?" she said. Her son nodded happily. Harry pulled a blanket around them and summoned the children's nursery rhyme book from the bedroom. Harry wonders if her mother and father read her stories like this when she was a baby. After four stories, Godric fell asleep, but Harry couldn't bring herself to put him in his bed. Instead, she changed the couch to a large bed and lay down with her arms around him. "Sweet dream, my little prince." She said and fell asleep.
