Scott knew many things about their newest teacher—being the field leader required him to be able to gather information from his surroundings—he knew that Mr. Potter was powerful and had a variety of powers and that he was a no-nonsense type of person or at least that is what he gathered from all the three times he had seen the man.
When he had reached the danger room in the morning after finally being cleared from the infirmary he hadn't expected to find said man sparring. After all, he had seen him punch the Hulk into the air and that kind of strength negates the need for martial skills. What came as less of a surprise was his sparring partner, Logan. The Wolverine did only three things in the Mansion, kick-ass, drink beer, kick some more ass or tinker in the garage. Okay, maybe four things.
From what he had learned, Logan knew many forms of martial arts from around the world and had worked his obscene healing factor and claws into the mix to create a devastating style of his own. Later when he had Adamantium grafted to his skeleton, he just became deadlier and at that point, he could take on almost anyone except for Magneto. Currently, Logan was striking at Harry from every possible direction as he twisted his waist to land a sideways kick to shatter the knee while at the same time leaned backwards to avoid a right hook. He brought both of his hands around in a sweep at different heights, with his momentum turning the move into something vaguely resembling Capoeira.
Harry leaned backwards while folding his left leg at the knee to avoid the kick just enough to avoid the hands before coming back up and grabbing them. Leaping up he wrapped his legs around Logan before twisting his body around and launching Logan backwards. But Logan released his claws at the last moment and dug them into the concrete floor they were fighting on. Before Harry could do anything, Logan was up and had his claws at Harry's throat and at the same time positioning the other hand at Harry's chest.
"He doesn't look that great if he is taken down in barely ten seconds."
"Scott, those two have been sparring for more than twenty minutes. And Harry has been defeated only twelve times during that time. Logan slammed you down on the mat thirty times in the same timeframe when he had been going all out about two months ago."
Properly chastised by Ororo's remark, Scott still felt a burst of irritation swell within him. Out of all the mutants in here, his powers were the least useful in day-to-day life, and he couldn't even see normally. Everything was visible to him only when he wore his visor or special glasses otherwise his optic beams would go out of control. Even then, everything was tinted red. His physical strength was also the least enhanced, even Kitty had more bone density and muscle power than him naturally to keep herself durable and safe. He was the oldest member of X-men for crying out loud, Angie had managed to lift him up and throw him in a temper tantrum. And she was five!
And now this man, who hadn't even shown any mutant ability was stronger than him in just physical strength alone! To say nothing of the absolutely unfathomable powers he had displayed two days ago. A snake of fire he could handle easily, punching the Hulk into air was a difficult pill to swallow but super-strength wasn't unheard of. Strangely common, actually. However, the thing which caused him to freeze up was the reanimated corpses of the Chitauri. Their unseeing eyes lit up and the way they had walked and functioned even without their limbs was… disconcerting. Before he could devote more of his brain to the battle, Professor Xavier wheeled inside the room with Jean, Kurt, Rogue, Kitty and Evan following him.
"Scott, it seems like you should still be resting instead of coming here to the Danger Room." Charles nodded towards the bruise at his elbow where he had broken his joint.
"Leon did a pretty good job, sir," Scott shook his head and said. "There is just a little bruising now, it will go away in a few hours."
Nodding at his answer the professor moved towards Ororo while the rest of the team came towards Cyclops, each of them shaking his hand or patting him on the back.
"Hey Charles, send the kids down here. All of them vs. me. I won't use my mutant abilities."
Everyone peered down at Harry, the man smirking up at them while Logan exited the danger room. After a nod from the professor, everyone entered the danger room, greeting the universe hopper before Harry started asking them questions about their powers and skills.
"He is in a good mood," Ororo pointed out
"I think talking about his life yesterday was somewhat cathartic but moreover Harry knows that being angry here won't accomplish anything. He still harbors that rage inside him but we aren't the ones he is furious at so what we are seeing now is more like he would behave normally. I'm sure he will have a few minor relapses but he is beginning to heal."
Looking out at Charles out of the corner of her eye Ororo spoke, "You gathered that from just a talk and an interview?"
Giving a small chuckle Charles spoke, "No, of course not. But I am a telepath and, while not like Jean who is one as well, all telepaths are indirectly empaths as well in a bastardized way. I could feel his emotions while he had been telling us his story and even when he was just going off on a tangent talking about other things than the wars and other misfortunes that befell him. While his mental barriers are certainly impressive and one of the best I have felt, he was too lost in his memories to notice the leakage of feelings."
Before they could talk anymore upon the subject Harry's voice reached them from below. "Charles, how good are your infirmary, and healing procedures? Can a broken bone be healed in a single day?"
"While the bones would heal within a single day due to Leon, I would recommend against it. The children all go to high school and I wouldn't want them injured or discomforted in any way to interfere with their studies or raise pointed questions about their injuries."
Nodding wordlessly at that, Harry spoke some more words to the children before he said, "Can I get the same environment as Manhattan directly in front of Stark tower?"
Ororo immediately created the simulation, the projectors creating an exact replica of Stark Tower and its surroundings. Down to even the occasional bird or automobile, though the latter at a much less frequency than in the real world. While everyone had been busy once again looking as the artificial environment around them was constructed, Harry had disappeared into the surroundings. All three of the teachers above in the control box leaned forwards, curious to see what was going to happen.
"Fifty on Potter trashing the kids within four minutes an' hundred if he manages under two."
"Have a little faith in our students Logan," Charles chided the Canadian mutant before looking down at the teenagers running towards the Stark tower.
As Jean watched the hard-light constructs form around her she suddenly noticed the absence of their instructor and quite possibly one of the most dangerous individuals she had ever seen.
"Alright team, Mr. Potter can manipulate energy and therefore getting close quarters with him will only be detrimental until he is too out of it to use his powers. We will move into the Stark tower and keep an eye on all sides until we spot him. Long-range attacks seem like the best choice so we will move to the upper floors of the tower." Nodding at Scott's command everyone started moving towards the Stark Tower, the building as pristine and imposing as ever.
As soon as they entered the tower, Harry's voice echoed from all around them, "Forty seconds more, then I am coming and remember, I will only use the powers that you guys will encounter most of all namely martial arts, energy and elemental manipulation. If you are conscious after two minutes of my first attack then you win otherwise you are terminated from the exercise."
Spike immediately snorted and spoke, "This guy is going to take us out in two minutes? He is underestimating us. I mean what can martial arts do if I can just bash him with bones?"
Rogue and Kurt both nodded at their teammates' words before Rogue said, "Mr. Potter can teleport silently and without any blue smoke or smell, saw him do that yesterday morning."
"Hey, move fast. There is barely any time left before he will start attacking. We should be in position before that." Jean turned towards Kitty's voice, only to suppress a snicker at the frozen look on the normally bubbly girl's face.
'She looks like a chipmunk!'
Within moments all six of them were on their way up, the lift going at unseen speeds against gravity.
Scott moved to the front and spoke, "Now, Marvel Girl will be at the center and be ready to block any object with her telekinesis while Spike and Nightcrawler will be at the left side. Shadowcat and Rogue will stand at the right while I will be at the back to cover everyone."
"More like ogle Jean's ass." Kitty muttered to herself and immediately got a snicker out of Rogue and Kurt who were standing close by, while Jean's face got a little red and she gave Kitty a small glare, causing the girl to blush and duck her head down.
Before anything more could be said the lift lurched for a moment, the inertia making their feet leave the floor before it started moving downwards sporadically, sounds of the supports scraping against the hydraulic systems audible from the outside. Fear immediately filled everyone's faces before Kitty screamed and Kurt suddenly kicked into action. Grabbing Scott and Kitty while making sure everyone touched someone, Kurt teleported from inside the collapsing lift to the ground floor. Landing on the ground floor, everyone save for Kitty immediately fell to the floor and took stock of themselves while the girl lost control and disappeared into the floor momentarily before returning back.
"THAT MAN IS CRAZY! WHO THE HELL DROPS A FUCKING ELEVATOR WITH PEOPLE INSIDE OF IT!"
In response to Evan's heaving rant, Harry calm voice once again spoke from all around them,
"People who would want you dead or otherwise hindered. You have a teleporter in your team so there wasn't any immediate danger, however, in the event Mr. Wagner would have been unable to escape with you all then I would have simply stopped the lift and declared you defeated. Now prepare yourselves!"
Before they could even properly stand up, Harry appeared at the doors of the Stark Tower out of thin air. Even as they stood up and spread out slightly and Jean raised several wooden panels and glass pieces from the receptionist area while Harry stood with his hands behind his back while observing them languidly.
"You said you would just use martial arts and energy manipulation! There was nothing about teleportation!" Scott accused him while taking a defensive stance.
Amusement in his eyes Harry raised his hand in the air causing everyone to tense up further before Harry's fingers turned invisible and Jean gasped before speaking.
"He didn't teleport! Light is a form of energy and he can manipulate it!"
The fact that Harry could have taken them down right from the start crossed everyone's mind in synchrony for a split second before Spike leaped forwards, small needle-like bone pieces shooting forwards towards Harry even as more formed over his fingers and elbows. Without even moving from his position Harry just flicked a single finger and every projectile headed his way stopped. Spike didn't slow down in the slightest at the telekinesis on display and rammed into Harry full speed, only to pass through the man and emerge on the other side.
The illusion fell away and Harry appeared right in front of a still surprised Spike. Before anyone could do anything, a jab landed at his collarbone, the force behind it causing him to turn to the left sharply. The next second Harry jumped and twisted in the air, kicking the still stunned Evan right in his chest with a roundhouse kick causing him to fly back almost ten feet before landing on his back gasping for breath. Pressing a hand to his chest Evan looked at Harry with rage and some fear only to get surprised at the empty air in front of him.
"Where is he?"
Everyone looked from Spike to Harry's position only to curse at their lack of attention. Scott helped Spike up before speaking, "Everyone duck down, I will sweep around with my optic beams!"
Rogue spun around and looked at Scott with an open mouth before speaking
"He is around here Sugah! He can also just as easily duck down!"
Scott flushed red and opened his mouth but a cry of pain from Kurt caused them to turn towards the blue mutant, to find him bent down at waist level with his arm straightened and twisted behind him. The next second Harry appeared holding onto Kurt's wrist and pressing the teleporter back downwards with one hand.
This time Kitty immediately leaped into action and jumped towards Harry with her right hand cocked for a punch while Kurt tried using his tail to unbalance Harry's legs, however they both failed. In a show of inhuman reflexes and flexibility, Harry turned Kurt's arm clockwise in such a way that Kurt completely flipped in the air while Harry flipped sidewards, kicking out his legs and catching Kitty with quick kicks to her temple.
Landing on his feet Harry immediately rolled back to avoid Spike's axe kick while Kitty landed with a bruise forming on her forehead and completely knocked out. Kurt immediately teleported behind Harry and swung his arm around only for his arm to jerk midway and Harry to raise his leg behind him, kicking Kurt's thigh and causing him to land on his knees.
Before Harry could move he suddenly found himself frozen in the same place, then he was raised up in the air for about six or seven feet and positively punted down into the wooden flooring. This time Harry felt the impact and for a moment Harry was confused beyond anything.
'Since when did such a small fall hurt me? It has been years since such a thing has even registered as an injury? Why di-'
Jean didn't even wait for a single second before slamming Harry sideways into the receptionist desks but underestimating her own power, she sent him straight through the wood, shattering the table into nothing but splinters.
Scott took advantage immediately and launched his optic beams into the mess of papers and wood causing Harry to groan out. White mist immediately exploded in that place, looking like a fire extinguisher burst open due to Scott's attack. After no response from the smoking and mist-covered wreck, Scott nodded at Rogue who went forwards Harry back.
Halfway through Harry jumped out of the mist with some blood flowing from his head and his shirt burned off baring his slightly burned torso to everyone. Rogue raised her arms to block the kick aimed at her side only for Harry to land his forearm right at her cheek and send her stumbling sideways. Before she could even right herself Harry grabbed her forearm and rolled over her back and twisted her into the air, making her fall on her face.
Jean immediately kicked him on his back, sending him stumbling right towards Scott who launched his beams at Harry. Moving with the momentum from the kick, Harry fell to his knees and rolled forwards right past Scott before standing up while behind him Jean cried as Scott's beams burned her arms raised in a surprised attempt at defence. Scott immediately stopped his attack and ran forwards while opening his mouth as Jean fell to her knees, only for Harry to sweep out his legs from beneath him and punch his abdomen, making him curl into his stomach at the sharp throbbing pain.
As Harry stood up, Spike immediately grabbed his right arm and twisted it in an attempt to force Harry to the ground like Harry had done to Kurt while Kurt teleported in front of him and raised his hand in an obvious right hook. Internally rolling his eyes Harry used Spike's arm-twist to flip forwards and axe kick Kurt into the ground while at the same time freeing his hand from Spike's hold.
Left gaping at the move, Spike had no chance to save himself from the left hook which left him on the floor blissfully knocked out, the strike to his temple too much for the teen.
"Jean! Jean, are you alright? I am so sorry! I was aiming for him but you were standing behind him and you know I can't see an-"
Harry was already turning around towards the pair behind him, actually surprised that Scott hadn't attempted to take him down, only to be further surprised at the slap which landed on Scott's face.
"Stop looking at me, Summers! Especially since we are still in a fight and after you just burned my shirt off!"
Shocked out of his mind and more than a little embarrassed Scott immediately turned around and walked out of the tower. Behind him, each of his still conscious teammates shot him a glare at the blatant favouritism and his crush on the redhead.
Conjuring a shirt for himself on his body and doing a second one for Jean behind his back, Harry dropped it in Jean's hands as she covered herself with them. Giving him a small 'Thank you', Jean pulled the shirt on quickly while Harry revived the others. Rogue and Kitty stood up with pained groans while Kurt and Evan just grunted as they came forwards.
The five of them came in front of him, with each of them giving him mild glares. Kitty had a good reason to do so after the twin kicks that landed on her head but he hadn't hurt the rest of them that much...or maybe they had a reason to glare at him?
Looking around for the team leader Harry frowned and raised his hand, mentally summoning Scott right in front of him. A second later Scott came flying through the doors while waving his hand and screaming in quite a comical fashion. Stopping his velocity and making him stand up beside all others, Harry crossed his hands over his chest and smiled.
"I was really underestimating you, yeah?"
In the control room, Charles could only shake his head at the defeat the children were dealt. Moreover, he could see how their inexperience shone through in the team exercise.
"The kids fucked up big time, I think I failed to cram the tactical maneuvers and strategies in their head properly. They didn't even last more than 100 seconds after the initial strike from Potter."
"Though you have to accept that there haven't been many team drills." Charles pointed out weakly before continuing, "and while they lost, their attempts were admirable and strategically sound. Scott made a good call at the start to place everyone at the best positions."
Snorting slightly, he just crossed his arms and said no more, knowing Charles would be on the defensive about Cyclops' decisions and mistakes. From the look of mild irritation on the weather mutant's face, Ororo also had the same thought.
"You guys are sloppy, lack any teamwork and absolutely fail at utilising your powers effectively as individuals or paired with others."
Everyone except Kurt and Jean opened their mouth to protest only for Harry to raise his hand and roll over them
"Scott's plan at the start was a little sensible," Harry said and turned towards the said mutant before continuing. "But you foolishly planned in an open space instead of making certain by using your telepath to see whether I was around or not. Using the lift was quite stupid since it is a very easy and efficient way to take out adversaries."
Scott immediately flushed red and turned his face away as everyone turned towards him with two particularly bruised mutants scowling at their team leader.
"Your bones are brittle and easily broken and you are very stiff when fighting." Spike turned towards Harry at that and glared back at him. Unfazed by the petulant display, Harry just continued his lecture. "Learn to be flexible and quick and add some more martial arts to your list other than the basic moves you were shown-"
"We didn't know about your powers properly," Scott interrupted. "If we were to go now then you wouldn't be able to take us all out."
Harry and the three adults above in the control room all sighed simultaneously and shook their heads, the same thought going through all four of their minds
'Teenage pride'
Annoyed at his actions and words, Harry walked out of the building while saying, "You can ask for any environment and I won't use any powers. Stay conscious for five minutes after one-twenty seconds are over."
Everyone was flabbergasted at the proclamation but before they could say anything Scott immediately said, "Bayville High, we know like the back of our hands and unlike the mansion, Mr. Potter hasn't even heard of it let alone seen it."
Ororo immediately projected the school into the danger room, an exact replica of it forming around the people below as the Manhattan around them dissolved. Without a word, Scott started moving towards the library, the only room with the most defensible positions. Plenty of desks and chairs to use as cover and weapons, while the bookshelves offer a lot of hiding positions.
Catching up with their captain Kitty spoke, "Well, now we know we can't take him down in a physical fight, and he is not going to use his powers, so what is our plan?"
"We will hide amongst the desks and bookshelves of the library while Marvel Girl will use her telepathy to keep a lookout. You will hide inside something and Spike will be above the entrance. When Marvel Girl feels him coming close, one of us will make some sound to draw him in and we will strike hard and fast. Marvel Girl, Nightcrawler, grab anything and drop it on him to slow him down while Rogue and Spike will go on a physical offence."
Nodding at Scott, Jean immediately started to feel out for Harry's presence, finding him to be moving farther and farther from the school. Kitty immediately ran forwards into the library and phased inside a bookshelf while Spike ducked behind the librarian's desk. Kurt leaped into the bookshelves and hid behind a painting hanging from the ceiling, hiding him from every viewpoint except for Scott's who squeezed himself into an alcove built into the wall. Rogue walked into the library's sitting area and hid beneath a table, all of them waiting for Jean's signal or any sound.
Watching the Bayville High and its surroundings form up around him, Harry turned away from the school and started walking away from the school, intent on making as much distance as possible between him and the mutants in case Jean decided to act as a SONAR.
"Hey Logan, can I get equipment or vehicles inside here?"
"Yeah bub, just tell me what you want."
A frown on his face, Harry looked around at the school and the roads before his gaze landed on the fenced wall around the school. When he had said that he would take them all down without powers, he had never said that he wouldn't use tools and tricks to do so.
"Give me a grenade, pepper spray, a flashbang and an electrobaton. I will handle the rest."
The requested items materialised in front of him, the pepper spray and electrobaton had an amusing sticker that said 'Keep Away From Children' that caused Harry to let out a small chuckle. He picked up the flashbang and pepper spray and put them into his pocket and then picked up the electrobaton and grenade. He started walking around the school looking for a weak entry point and when he found one, he pulled the pin on the grenade and tossed it and took cover around a corner. The blast took out a decent-sized chunk of wall and had blown out quite a few windows from the concussive force. He pulled the pepper spray out of his pocket then ran towards the hole and jumped through. His direction was decided for him by the shouting he could hear a few windows down.
Shaking his head at the amateurish reaction, Harry leaped upwards and landed inside the library. As he stood up, Harry ducked behind a cart and looked around, immediately spotting Jean and Kurt from his position. From the looks of it, they were quite shaken by the blast and broken glass flying and knowing his most dangerous adversary, Harry silently stalked towards the telepath of the group as he put the pepper spray back in his pocket for the moment.
From his position Harry could see Jean open her mouth while turning towards him, her eyes widening in alarm as she no doubt took notice of how close he had come in the chaos.
Taking a leap, Harry landed right beside her, wrapped his hand over her mouth and jammed the electro baton to her neck before switching it on, keeping the voltage on until Jean's muscles stopped responding and she slackened in his grip, delirious and incapable of thinking coherently for at least a few seconds. Her struggles hadn't even begun properly before they ended, with her teammates none the wiser about her elimination. Gently laying her head down on the floor, Harry moved sidewards and took a peek towards where he had seen Kurt sitting behind something.
Finding the teleporter still in his position and looking towards something, Harry looked below and frowned when he spotted Scott coming towards his position, no doubt to check on his 'crush'. His gaze then landed on the bookshelf and snapped to the floor—or more accurately the distance between two shelves—before he grinned.
Moving two steps backwards, Harry jumped forwards before kicking the shelf two times at the same spot causing it to fall forwards on the bookshelf in front of it. Kurt immediately teleported off while Scott and Rogue both came out of their hiding spaces as the books started falling all over the floor. In the ensuing domino effect, Harry scaled up the fallen bookshelves to get a jump on Rogue, only for a hand to grab him and bring him down quite violently.
Barely stopping his head from glancing off the wooden framework, Harry twisted his body around and withdrew his leg, freeing the limb the grab and crawled backwards from the now intangible Kitty.
A triumphant expression on her face, she shouted, "Hey guys! I have got Mr. Potter here! And he is unarmed!". Stopping her phasing, Kitty also started to scramble up behind him over the dislodged books. The next moment a scaly tail wrapped around his right hand before he felt a sensation similar to free-falling and was suddenly sprawled across the floor, in the dead center of the library.
Even as he stood up and immediately veered off to his right to avoid a punch from Rogue, Harry couldn't come up with a single reason why his senses hadn't gone off. His Nundu and Thunderbird forms had given him reflexes much higher than a baseline human and his senses were also extremely heightened but since this morning he hadn't felt them kicking in. And that wooden desk had made him bleed—something which hadn't happened due to wood of all things in years—which was worrying him quite a bit.
His distraction cost him dearly, with Spike ramming a full-powered punch right in the middle of his back. While Spike wasn't as powerful as his instructors or even all of the muggle soldiers he had fought, the thin bone spikes at his knuckles tore open his skin like hot knife through butter. Rolling forwards with the punch, Harry kicked out his leg and struck Rogue's knee, making her fall directly into a palm strike to her temple. Dazed as she was, Rogue had no chance to counter the knee which struck her in the same spot, sending her unconscious on the floor for the second time this morning. Having learned his lesson, Harry immediately rolled sidewards, narrowly dodging Kurt's kick to his legs and sprang up.
A roundhouse kick to the blue mutant's jaw sent him stumbling backwards and in the same motion, Harry jumped upwards and locked his knees around Spike's head before dropping himself forwards. With his legs now at Spike's shoulders, Harry slammed himself and the mutant both down, the only difference? Harry was trained to handle such impacts coming with Kalaripayattu and Judo throws whereas Spike was not. His head hit the floor directly, making him blackout before he even properly caught on to the situation.
Standing up Harry picked the electrobaton up that had been knocked out of his hand in the fight and sent the flashbang directly behind him while closing his eyes. After a flare of white light through his eyelids, Harry looked around and saw everyone rubbing their eyes and clenching them shut.
"MY EYES...IT HURTS! WHY IS NOTHING VISIBLE?"
Alarmed by Scott's yelling, Harry turned towards the teen, only to duck beneath the lancing beams of vibrant red energy shooting from his eyes. Without any sight and clearly out of control, the energy output was higher than the last time. As Scott whirled around in every direction, nothing was left untouched in the library. Everyone frantically sought cover as the books and wooden things were either put to fire or turned to tatters by the lasers.
Grimacing at his mistake and the blunder of the boy, Harry turned towards Kurt, "Get everyone out of here before he burns something off you people!"
Giving a nod, Kurt bamfed away into blue smoke and reappeared over Kitty and Rogue, both of whom were huddled together behind the fallen shelves. A second later he was off with both of them secure in his grasp and back again to take a slowly awakening Jean. Knowing that Spike had already hightailed the library when Kurt had started teleporting, Harry cracked his neck and shot off a stunner at Scott only to miss as the blindly walking teen stumbled at just the right moment and swayed out of his spell.
Annoyed at this, Harry shot a widespread body-bind charm and froze the frenzied teen in his place before stunning him. But even as Scott dropped to the floor, his eyes didn't close up and continued the barrage of optic beams. Stepping close to the boy, Harry formed a shield spell over his fingers and kneeled by the prone mutant. Gritting his teeth, Harry pushed against the beams and reached out with his fingers at the eyelids before pulling them down. The beams immediately cut off, revealing slightly burnt and blackened skin around Scott's eyes and his own unharmed fingers.
The library around him disappeared with the whole simulation, revealing the plated walls and floor of the danger room. The door opened and Ororo came rushing in with a stretcher, no doubt to take Scott to the infirmary.
Floating the boy to the stretcher Ororo took a look at him and said, "You should come to the infirmary. We saw how my nephew punched you with bone spikes. You are definitely bleeding and should get that healed as soon as possible."
"Yeah, I guess I will also need to know where the infirmary is," Harry started walking after Ororo as she pushed the stretcher towards the exit only to stop and speak, "Ororo." Harry gestured towards himself and continued, "Shoot some lightning at me, I want to check something"
Knowing that minor voltage won't harm him Ororo shot a pale blue bolt of electricity at him. As the bolt came near to him, Harry could feel it completely on a level he hadn't before. He could see how the discharge of energy between Ororo's hand and her target, in this case his right pectoral to be exact, behaved and he could feel that this energy would never be able to harm him.
As the bolt slammed into him, Harry exerted his own will on the lightning crackling along his whole body and directed it to his wound. Like the night in the bathroom, the lightning first soothed his pain before he felt his wound rapidly stitch back together while small fragments of Spike's ill-formed gauntlets were pushed out before the punctures completely sealed back together.
Stopping the lightning with a thought, Harry directed it completely into his body, sighing slightly as his tiredness completely went away.
"So you can heal from lightning? I thought that was something you would have already been capable of." Ororo commented as she started moving towards the infirmary with the stretcher in front of her. Hands in his pockets Harry just shook his head before teleporting away, leaving the woman glaring at the spot he had been standing at when she felt his disappearance.
"Get up you lazy excuses for trained mutants! While you are all lazing around here and sleeping off burgers, Charles' kids have already defeated aliens in front of the entire planet!"
With a completely manly shriek, Pietro Maximoff, son of Erik Leinsherr and the fastest man alive fell down from the couch on the floor and immediately landed into a face full of cheese dip. Besides him, another teen fell into a leftover box of pizza, his hunchbacked stature and narrowed face giving him a somewhat comical presence. Mortimer Toynbee, or Toad as he was called, shot out his extremely quick, sticky and long tongue and gobbled up the pizza slices in one sweep, with a disgustingly wet lick to his lips for a final measure.
"Hey lady, you here for a ride?"
Pietro just groaned into the plastic beneath him, knowing that today they would get grilled even worse after Toad's shudderingly bad attempt at being suave with Raven Darkholme, or she was more infamously known as, Mystique. If the choking croak Mortimer gave out the next second, the shapeshifter had already started today's session.
"What is the ruckus? Can't a guy sleep 'round here?"
The third member of the Brotherhood woke up at the moment, his immense weight making the floor beneath him vibrate as his lumbering steps sounded through the room. Blob, the immovable object and probably one of the strongest mutants in the world. Lumbering forwards, he squinted at his fallen teammates before looking up at the shapeshifter and once again at them and started laughing.
"That is enough. From today your training will increase in duration and difficulty and you will hone your powers to their limits and beyond. But for now, get lost, go to school before I lose my patience!"
"And what will you do if I don't?" Blob said with a thump to his chest as he leaned down to look Mystique in the eye. Mystique calmly raised her right leg up and kicked him in the nose without losing her balance and then brought the same leg down with a push from her left one to plant her heel straight into the giant's groin. Blob's eyes bugged out of his head as he held his crotch and fell to the floor besides his teammates.
"Do I need to say it again?"
Her response was the three teenagers rushing past her towards the bedrooms without a delay with Pietro already changed and present in front of her five seconds later.
"Um.. Mystique. Did you talk to my father recently?"
"I did, he wasn't pleased by Charles' actions and the response of the United Nations." Mystique said as she changed her skin into a pale white with a blond hair done in an elaborate bun, her eyes turning a common black and her figure turning more curvier and a grey combo of a blouse and skirt forming over her.
"Don't be late to the school today, and be present at the compound at 6 PM sharp." With that said Mystique departed from the house only to grab a magnetic dart used for playing games and throw it behind with deadly accuracy, striking the resident speedster between his eyes for ogling her.
What she didn't tell Pietro was that his father was also worried about the new mutant who was currently the talk of the town. Ravager, someone whose martial prowess was already looking to be in the leagues of Deadpool, Wolverine and herself, with his elemental and necromantic powers notwithstanding. Getting into her Bentley, Mystique started driving towards the Bayville High and started thinking of ways to find the mysterious Omega class mutant and bring him into their ranks. While it wasn't public, talks of labeling the newest superhero a national risk were already underway, with many of them wanting his powers for themselves.
It wasn't anything new in this line of work. Governments and politicians always wanted an attack dog of their own. Captain America had become a legend and was out of their hands lest the public lynches the Senate. Hell, to the public the world over, the good Captain had more than earned the respect of the people all over the world. Tony Stark was too much of a wild card and his technology was his own to create. And everybody knew how going after Magneto and the Hulk fared for the armies with both of them having amassed thousands of deaths to their names.
However this time, Ravager was an unknown with no financial backing like Stark, no public ready to storm the capital for him like for Captain America and as for his destructive potential, the US learned not to cross Magneto after he crushed hundreds of their soldiers, tanks and weaponry over the years. They will learn to do the same for Ravager after he killed enough of them.
