Harry had woken up to birds chirping outside; he guessed it was about 11 am he hadn't gotten to sleep until Remus had also gone to bed. He had said goodnight to Remus briefly when he came upstairs; Harry got up and put on his lounge around clothes and headed downstairs for some breakfast. He had just got to the dining room when Ertue came behind him and offered him today's paper. He said thank you and continued to sit down at the table, waiting for Kilut to finish making breakfast.
He looked at the paper, the headlines turning him white as a ghost,
BOY WHO LIVED HEIR TO POTTER FORTUNE
Daily Prophet insiders have learned Harry Potter has come into possession of the heir ring for the Most Noble House of Potter and used it to gain access to a portkey on December 24th; The ministry is not willing to confirm or deny Mr. Potter was indeed at the ministry to access the Potter Mansion. Ministry insiders have confirmed that Harry Potter had shown his ring to one Darius Condor of the Portkey Office. The Daily Prophet currently believes Harry went to his Potter Mansion but is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Harry sat at the table motionless, not wanting to believe what he had just read; Remus was now walking into the dining room, hoping to speak with Harry before he read the paper. Seeing the report and the look on Harry's face, he knew the secret was out; he sat down across the table from Harry and waited until the shock was gone before speaking, "Harry, I know you wanted to hide your heirship, but it would have come out when you were of age. Plus, don't blame Darius for the leak; the Daily Prophet has eyes everywhere."
Harry looked up, just finally noticing his Uncle was sitting across from him. He watched as Remus explained how you must make an announcement when you become a Lord, or you may lose your Wizengamot seat. Harry just wished he didn't have to let anyone know now everyone he was friends with, would realize he hadn't been telling them the whole truth about him. "How many people do you think get the paper every morning Remus?"
Remus was surprised by the question but answered, "Maybe 10% of the wizarding population keep their subscription over Christmas; why?" Harry pondered for a second, then announced, "Ertue, please apologize to Kilut. I won't be needing breakfast anymore. I have to be somewhere." Ertue seemed confused as Harry ran out of the room and headed towards the sitting room, Remus following close behind. "Where are you going, Harry? We need to talk about this, You…." Remus exclaimed as Harry continued to run down the hall. "I need to visit the Daily Prophet and stop the bleeding this could do to my friendships at school," and with that, Harry stepped into the fireplace and, with some floo powder, was now on his way to the Daily Prophet.
Harry arrived in a pure white room; chairs lined the walls pictures hung off the walls showing old witches and wizards of the Prophet. He walked towards the front desk where a wizard was sitting, "Hi, can I please speak to the Daily Prophet editor?" The wizard looked at the boy and seemed annoyed, "Do you have an appointment?" Harry stood on his toes to see over the desk, "I do not, but please inform them Harry Potter would like to see them." The wizard looked up again and quickly rose out of their seat, heading for the offices behind them.
Out came a witch about the age of twenty-five, "Hier Potter, please step into my office, and we can talk about why you are here." Harry followed her back into the office and sat down at the desk as she closed the door, "My name is Amanda Wright, Lead Editor for the Daily Prophet." Harry shook her hand and started to explain why he was there, "I wish for you to stop publishing articles about me or my family; I also want for you to replace the Article in this morning's paper with something else, my private life is not any of your business."
Amanda looked at him feeling sorry for the boy, "I am sorry, Hier Potter, but we at The Daily Prophet do everything we can to provide news for our readers, and we are not breaking any laws by providing news about the ongoings of anyone; of your stature." Harry was furious that people wouldn't respect his privacy; he was ready to argue when…
Albus Dumbledore was at his desk, filling out some paperwork for a missing toilet that walked out of the boys' washroom earlier that morning when an owl pecked at the window behind him; he looked behind to see a Barn Owl he knew all too well, He read the letter and quickly jumped into the fire hoping he was not going to be too late.
Harry was sitting on the edge of the chair, ready to argue, when Albus Dumbledore came crashing into the office, looking at Harry, then at Ms. Wright, who now looked worried. "Mr. Potter, I hope I haven't scared you, but I was sent an owl saying to accompany you here, now what seems the problem?" Harry looked at the Headmaster; he seemed to have left in a hurry to catch him here, "I was asking Ms. Wright to stop printing stories about my family and me, To respect my privacy." Amanda jumped on the chance to explain, "As I told Hier Potter, The Daily Prophet has the right to report on anyone they wish to." Albus looked at Harry as if telling him not to interrupt and then looked back at Amanda, "Well, I hope you know that reporting on minors is illegal after they complain or ask you to remove them for your story, as Mr. Potter is doing right now." Amanda nodded, "Also, as Harry has a stake in the Daily Prophet, he has any and all rights to ask you to leave him out of the stories consent or not."
Amanda Wright was fuming as Albus and Harry left her office minutes later; they both left the Daily Prophet building and headed towards the Leaky Cauldron; Albus and Harry were enjoying hot cocoa when a man started to loom around the table. He took a seat about two chairs down, and Tom, the barkeep came over to serve his new customer; the man ordered a full English breakfast and the morning's paper. Harry looked over but didn't say anything; Albus didn't seem to pay the man any attention. They both finished off their cocoa, and Harry was about to stand up to leave until Albus spoke, "Harry, please sit; we have something we need to talk about; Harry sat down and looked at Albus, wondering what else they could talk about in the open like this. "Harry, did you know you have a godfather? Not Remus but a godfather James and Lily chose for you before they died." Harry shook his head, "Well, when you were born, James and Lily had made their friend Sirius Black your godfather; he was James' best man at the wedding and their most loyal friend.
"So why am I living with Remus?" asked Harry, visibly confused. "You are living with Remus, Harry because Sirius Black was in Azkaban Prison accused of murdering Peter Pettigrew, another one of James' friends. Harry couldn't believe what he was hearing, not to mention the man near Albus must be hearing all of this, "Sirius also received a cloak from James before he died to help hide from Voldemort. The cloak you received for Christmas was that cloak, Harry." Harry was now getting skittish as the man started to look over at Albus, "Sir can we talk somewhere else? The man beside you seems to be listening in," Harry said in a whisper.
"It's nothing I don't know, Harry," said the cloaked man; Harry was now scared and was ready to leave. "I said you could be here if you were quiet." Dumbledore said in anger; turning towards Harry, he calmed said, "Harry, please stay. I want to finish." Harry continued to sit there, noticing the cloaked man sitting back sheepishly, "Sir, you are you?" Harry directed at the man.
"Don't worry about him, Harry everything will be explained at the end, as I said, the cloak you received yesterday was from Sirius Black, your legal Godfather; he was released from Prison on the twenty-second of December when someone from the Auror Office was looking over old files back in September noticed Sirius had never received a trial." Dumbledore took a second to recollect his breath and thoughts, "He got his trial on December 10th, and he was found not guilty as the ministry never had any proof except for some muggle testimony that Sirius had even seen Pettigrew that day, so he was ordered to be released and sent an owl to Gringotts to send you the cloak." Dumbledore again stopped, which let Harry interject, "How do you know any of this professor?" Dumbledore seemed to gaze over at the cloaked man who was now chomping down on his Breakfast and returned his gaze to Harry. "I know all of this, Harry as Sirius Black came into contact with me when he was released, knowing I was in close contact with both you and Remus.
Harry had now put all the pieces together and looked at the man sitting near Albus, "So your Sirius Black?" The man nodded and smiled as he looked at Harry, "I am Sirius Black, your Godfather, I wished I could have been here from the start, but you seemed to have grown up well enough" He chuckled a bit before seeing the stare down from Albus. He went back to his Breakfast, "Now you know the truth about Sirius Harry, you can't tell Remus about this, though. I don't trust him to be objective when it comes to Sirius." Dumbledore seemed to dull a bit, "Everyone has grown to believe Sirius is a murderer and betrayed his friends to Voldemort, none of which is true." Harry nodded, "I won't tell Remus what happened today."
"One final thing," Sirius addressed Harry, "As I am your legal Godfather, I will be notifying the Ministry to declare you my Hier for the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black." Harry was confused, "What about your sisters? Do they not have the right to be next in line?" Sirius frowned at the mention of his family, "I do not believe them fit to take my place after I die, Andromeda as already confided in me she never wants the title, and Narcissa married the weasel Lucius Malfoy, and I wish not to let them control what my family stands for."
"So once I am done talking with you, I am heading to the Ministry to declare my wishes before they try to lock me up again or, worse, kill me." Harry thought he was joking but didn't laugh when he saw how serious he was. "I must press upon you again, Harry; you do not tell Remus about meeting Sirius or me today; all you did was go to the Prophet and go back home" Harry nodded as they all got up and went separate ways. How am I going to hide this from Remus? Harry thought as he walked into the fireplace.
