Chapter 22

My friends and I were flying in the Avengers Quinjet to Avengers tower.

The girls were looking at the tower in awe, Todoroki sat alone looking at the heroes critically. Bakugo was next to me, he was silently pestering me about how I knew about where we were, I told him that I would reveal later on when it was just us.

We landed at the hangar bay and went down the ramp.

"JARVIS, call Banner and let him know that we have people that need to be examined." Steve called to the ceiling.

"Who's Jarvis?" Melissa asked confused. "That would be me." The AI spoke, making my friends jump.

I looked up at the ceiling. "An artificial intelligence?" I asked. "I'm Just A Rather Very Intelligent System." Jarvis introduced himself.

"He runs the place." Tony explained as we exited the elevator to a laboratory, I saw Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. I was fanboying inside as I saw Banner come over, he had a few syringes in hand.

I obediently took off my glove letting him take a sample of my blood and he did so with the rest of my friends. Bakugo growled at him.

"Bakugo don't piss off the heroes that are being civil with us." I put my glove back on.

"Mr. Stark, is Jarvis really an AI?" Melissa ran up to Tony. But Steve gave us a look, I pulled Melissa back.

"Questions later Melissa." I told her, Ochako rubbed the back of her head. "Umm." Momo looked at her. "I'll translate for you." She put a hand on Ochako's shoulder with a smile, making her nod with a smile of her own.

Bakugo reluctantly removed his gauntlets and put them next to him and crossed his arms. "Fine, what questions did you want to ask?"

"Let's start with something simple, your names." Clint suggested.

"Sure, I'm Izuku Midoriya, code name Dekiru." I introduced myself with a wide smile. Don't tell me that you wouldn't be fanboying in my place, talking to these amazing heroes, telling them your code name. "... Bakugo Katsuki, code name Dynamight." He glared at the other heroes.

"My name is Momo Yaoyorozu, my code name is Creati." Momo placed her hand on her chest. "This is Ochako Uraraka, also known as Uravity." Momo gestured to Ochako who waved with a cute smile.

"... The girl is adorable." Natasha muttered to herself.

"My name is Shoto Todoroki, I go by FrostFlame." Shoto crossed his arms. Melissa realized that she was the last one. "Oh I'm Melissa Shield, I don't have a code name." She adjusted her glasses.

"Where exactly are you from?" Steve asked, crossing his arms.

I looked behind me and took a stool pulling it towards me, taking a seat. "Before that, mind if I have a computer, I want to see something." I requested.

Natasha narrowed her eyes on me. "Answer." She ordered, "Fine, we come from Japan, now may I have a computer?" I asked politely.

"I have one right here." Bruce pointed at a laptop at the other end of the room as he was testing our blood on his equipment, Clint took the offered laptop and handed it to me, "Thank you, continue, I just wanna see what's different." I typed and blinked, pretending to be shocked. "Excuse me, the year is 2015?"

My friends looked at me in shock. "Yes…?" Thor looked confused.

"That's not possible… it's supposed to be 22XX." Melissa sounded stunned. "So you're from the future." Thor theorized.

I started to type away on the computer. I looked up stuff about Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, heroes, I saw the news about the avengers, the battle of New York more specifically.

"Not really, I've been looking up some stuff and we don't have some of the stuff you have." I spoke up. "Like Tony Stark creating clean energy. Gamma monsters in Harlem, alien invasion in New York, we never had stuff like this, I don't even recognize the names of the heroes mentioned." I continued to search the web.

"Really nerd, alternative dimensions are a little far fetched." Bakugo crossed his arms. "But with my quirk powering Mr. Shield's portal, I think it boosted the system to travel that far." I rebutted. "Wait, you live in the 22nd century and you haven't invented clean energy?" Tony asked, that's what he was focused on?

"I mean, since the dawn of quirks, research on other things have taken a back seat." Melissa explained. "You keep mentioning 'Quirks', what are they?" Natasha asked.

I looked up from the screen. "Okay…. It all started with a baby who was born in China who could radiate light from his body. Since then, people with powers have been popping up everywhere, as time went on, more and more people have been gaining superpowers and it has become the norm for us." I explained.

"We call them quirks because, well… every power is unique to a person." Momo added. "There are people who have quirks similar to their parents." Todoroki rubbed his neck

"Wait, so in your world, everyone has a super power?" Clint asked. "Yes, our world has become a super human society with 80% of the population having some kind of ability." I answered.

"To this day, no one knows how it came to be, but everyone stopped asking and just rolled with it." I shrugged.

Steve looked at Tony, then at us. "And you said that research on other areas of science have stopped?" He asked. "Yes, it is said that without quirks, we would have been able to travel to space by now." Todoroki replied this time.

"What are your powers?" Banner spoke up, looking up from his equipment. "I can create explosions from my palms." Bakugo responded while making small explosions from his palms.

"He can secrete nitroglycerin from my palms and ignite them." I gave them the explanation. "Damn NERD!" Bakugo exclaimed. "Is he always like this?" Tony asked, "Yes." All 5 of us responded.

"Well… I can create any inanimate objects from my lipids, but I need to know the compound structure of the item." Momo explained as she made a doll of herself and even a few metals. Tony and Bruce looked at her in shock. "Anything?" Bruce asked, earning a nod, "Nothing alive though.

"Well, Todoroki here can shoot out ice from the right side and fire from his left." I explained, "So that explains the ice sculpture I saw on my way to Central Park." Tony snapped his fingers.

"Ochako here can nullify the gravity of objects with the pads of her fingers and recently can control the gravity of objects from afar without touching them." I explained for Ochako who understood what I was trying to say and nodded.

"I'm quirkless, I don't have any powers." Melissa revealed. "So there are still people who don't have powers." Clint rubbed his chin in thought.

"And what about you?" Steve asked me. "Me… it's complicated." I chuckled. "Basically, I'm a human battery, I stockpile power and I can use that power to strengthen my body." I explained. "I can also use that power to create these." I demonstrated by pulling a random object to me with Black Whip.

"So… you were all born with these abilities." Bruce muttered as he looked at his screen.

"Yeah." I nodded and went back to typing away at the laptop.

"What's with the outfits?" Tony asked, examining our hero costumes. "Oh Midoriya and Yaoyourozu's costumes are my work." Melissa smiled proudly, "We're heroes in training." Shoto crossed his arms."

"But you all look like high school students." Bruce frowned, "We go to UA high school, the school that trains the next generation of heroes. Since quirks started to become the norm, it's kinda natural that there would be people who abuse their abilities." I explained to them.

Steve nodded in understanding. "And train heroes to stop them from committing crimes."

"What about you guys?" I asked the Avengers.

Steve looked at us for a moment, probably thinking if we were still a threat. "My name is Steve Rogers." He introduced himself, "Also known as Captain America or as I like to call him Capsicle." Tony joked with a small smile. Clint snorted as Steve gave Tony a look.

"Well since we're introducing ourselves, I'm Tony Stark, the Iron Man." Tony smirked. "Hmm kinda on the nose." Momo muttered. "Well most of us didn't come up with the names we were given." Bruce responded.

"You don't like Hulk?" Tony asked, crossing his arms. "No." Bruce deadpanned. "Hulk, what do you do?" I asked. "Not something I wanna share right now." Bruce shot down.

"And I am Thor Odinson." Momo blinked, "Wait… like the norse god of thunder?" She asked.

"Yes, point break here." Thor glared at Stark, "Is the real deal. He's got a mean swing." I rolled my eyes. Some of my friends didn't look convinced.

"Clint Barton, Hawkeye." Clint introduced himself.

"... Natasha Romanoff." Natasha leaned against the wall. "Oh you're the Black Widow from the press conference!" I pointed at her "Black Widow, what you got spider powers?" Bakugo scoffed. "No powers." Natasha glared at Bakugo. "No."

Melissa blinked as she came into the realization. "Wait, do you two not have any powers?" She asked.

"Nope, just as powerless as you are." Nat gave the blond girl a wink. I could see Bakugo looking at the two agents with a look of disbelief. "BullShit." He denied. "Besides Thor, Bruce and Cap, the rest of us don't really have super abilities."

"I still think that never missing a shot is a super ability." Stark accused. "Just years of practice pal." Clint smirked.

"So quirkless can be heroes." I looked at Bakugo who avoided my gaze.

"So do you know how to get back?" Thor asked, putting his hammer on the table, finally demong us as not a threat. "Not really." Melissa responded with a frown on her face. "My dad is probably working on the machine right now." She cupped her chin. "But we can't do anything until then."

"We're stuck here then?" Bakugo scowled. "Seems that way." Shoto responded, crossing his arms.

"Well, it's a good thing we found you instead of Hydra, they would be experimenting on you the moment they knew you had powers." Tony mumbled, I instantly typed in hydra and saw a lot of information… Oh wait, Natasha released it all during the Winter Soldier movie.

"Hydra?" Momo asked. "A nazi organization who's hell bent on world domination." Clint responded. "I can see that, wow there's a lot of stuff online." I muttered as I looked at all the information.

Steve and Natasha looked at each other momentarily and Steve spoke up. "You six can stay here until your portal opens up again."

Tony got up from his leaning position, "Jarvis, do a scan of the energy signature that brought them here, alert us the moment it appears." He ordered. "Very well sir." Tony turned to us. "We have some vacant rooms you can use."

"Thank you Mr. Stark." Melissa bowed. "Oi, you got a place to train?" Bakugo asked rudely.

"Bakugo." I scolded, "We have a training room on the 38th floor." Clint answered, crossing his arms, "I can take you there." "Can I come too?" Ochako asked,

"Follow me." Clint nodded with a smile on his and left with the two following him.

"Mr. Stark, I have some questions if you don't mind." Melissa came up to Tony with an excited smile, I chuckled a bit. She must be excited to learn from a brilliant mind.

Momo fidgeted. "I would like to explore if that's alright." Tony hummed. "Jarvis keeps an eye on her." He said as Melissa started to ask questions.

"I'll come with you." Todoroki followed Momo as they left the room.

"I should go and make sure Bakugo doesn't destroy anything." I sighed and put the laptop on the table, getting up and leaving the room.

"So the arc reactor powers this whole tower?" Melissa asked. "Yup." Tony responded as he compiled data on Hydra.

For the next 2 hours. Tony asked more questions about her. Melissa told him about I-Island, how her dad was a renowned scientist and support specialist.

He answered all the questions he could, he saw a bit of himself in Melissa,

"Wow… I wish we had something like that, it would solve the energy crises." She looked around Tony's lab in wonder. It baffled her that this was the year 2015. If they had this back then, the world would be a lot different in the future.

"I find it hard to believe that the world suddenly stops it's progress when superpowers come into the blender." Tony took out a bag of blueberries and ate some.

"Well, everyone was so focused on what caused it and how to handle the sudden influx of people with powers that everything else took a back seat." Melissa shrugged. "No one tried to take it out of the back seat?" Tony asked as he stared at her.

Melissa adjusted her glasses. "Not really, everyone is too focused on making stuff to help heroes then making anything else." She explained. "I wish there were people who would try." Tony raised an eyebrow.

"Why don't you then?" Melissa looked at him in surprise. "Me?"

"Well… you're smart for one, you have a father who supports you and have the 'Advanced' tech to make it work." He listed it out, Melissa frowned as he said Advanced… But honestly she could understand as all this was more advanced than what they had. "Add all and you have a way to change the world." He finished.

"... I don't even know where to start." She sighed leaning on the table. "Well… you have time to think about that, here." Tony took out a tablet and handed it to her.

Taking it, she looked it over and was a bit confused a bit at the equation, "Umm what's this?" She asked. "Just a little brain teaser, gotta have you occupied somehow." Tony responded as he typed on his screen.

Melissa looked at him for a moment. "If I solve this, can I take a closer look at your suit?" She asked. "We'll see." Tony smiled a bit at her hopeful tone.

Bruce walked in and saw Melissa sitting on a chair with a tablet in hand, her face scrunched up in frustration as she tapped on the screen.

He walked over to Tony, "What did you give her?" He whispered. "Oh just a little test, I wanna see if she can solve the problem." Tony smirked. "... Why do I feel like that's not all you have in mind?"

"You know me so well Bruce. Did you find anything in those kids' DNA?" Tony asked. "They're almost exactly like us, but they all have a certain gene that I think gives them their powers." Bruce told Tony.

"Well nothing new there." "But that green kid, Midoriya, confuses me." Tony frowned at Bruce. "And why is that?"

"Because his DNA is …. Spliced with … 8 others." Bruce whispered. Tony's eyes widened. "Experimentation?" He asked. "I don't think so." Bruce shook his head. "I was thinking of asking him later… Do you have any leads on Loki's sceptre?"

"Not yet, but once I do, it's game time."

It's been 2 days since the kid's arrived in their world, Steve watched as the green haired boy, Izuku, sparred with the spiky blond, Katsuki. They were in the training room which was able to handle the blond's explosive quirk thankfully.

He thought he saw everything after the invasion of New York, but people from another dimension took the cake.

Clint got the kids spare clothes to use, thankfully Stark had the money.

He stared as Izuku used a shield that was similar to his own, to fight Katsuki, keeping the explosive user at bay and counter attack with a burst of strength. "You know, I can see the resemblance." Steve looked to his side to see Nat standing there with a small smirk on her face. "Really?" He asked with amusement.

"Yeah, come on, don't tell me you don't see it." Nat pointed at Bakugo. "The blond one is arrogant, uses explosives and from what I hear, is also smart, not a genius but he's smart." Steve could see her answer a mile away. "Not really Stark though." He chuckled.

"No but Midoriya reminds me of you, just not as uptight." Steve looked back to the spar, he saw it too.

He earlier asked Midoriya more about the super human society they lived in, heroes were now a profession and had to go to school and graduate to become a licenced hero.

Honestly, he didn't like the implication that you had to have a plastic card to do the right thing and doing it without said card would make you a "villain".

He decided to ask Midoriya why he wanted to be a hero.

"Because I want to save people who are in need, I understand that our society isn't perfect, but I want to change that. I want to be able to help everyone I can, a foolish goal but one I am willing to see through." Midoriya told Steve and he knew that he thought deeply into what he wanted to be.

Steve saw himself in Midoriya.

"Stark calls him Mini Cap." Nat smirked at Steve, making him roll his eyes at the stupid nickname.

"And where's Mini Widow?" He returned with a teasing smile. "Hmm she's currently resting." Nat grinned.

Since Natasha walked in on Ochako working on her martial arts, Nat decided to teach Ochako a thing or two. This led to Ochako laying on the floor in pain after a friendly spar and Ochako begging Nat to teach her.

"She's a nice girl, a little too nice." She crossed her arms. "And what about the blond girl?" Steve asked.

"Stark's taking a liking to her, same with Banner, whenever they're doing something in their labs, Melissa is with them, either helping or observing." She pursed her lip. "When she's not with them, she's on her tablet trying to figure out an equation Stark gave her."

"What about the other two?"

"Todoroki normally stays in his room or comes here to train, Thor's interested in him actually, he helps Todoroki with his powers from what I saw the other day." Nat explained and then her smile widened.

"As for the other girl, Momo, Clint's interested in her creation quirk."

Clint and Momo were at one of the shooting ranges in the tower, Clint fired a gun with perfect accuracy, Momo couldn't believe he was quirkless but was able to keep up with the other heroes.

"You never tried to use a gun before?" Clint stared at Momo who blushed.

"I never attempted to make one." She muttered. "Why not?" He asked. "I don't think something like that is allowed."

"Well kid, I think that with your power, you have unlimited options and ammunition." Clit took his bow and arrow, then nocked an arrow and let it fly into one of the targets.

"It doesn't have to be lethal, it can be rubber bullets or even tranquilizer darts." He explained putting his bow down. "You shouldn't limit yourself." He advised.

"I… Never thought of that." Momo rubbed her chin in thought.

After reading up on the components needed. Momo created a handgun and shot at the targets, she used rubber bullets instead of real bullets, she flinched as she saw how far from the bullseye she was.

Clint patted her shoulder. "No worries, it's just practice." He assured her, Nat watched with a smile on her face.

"I'm surprised you two are training them." Steve hummed. "Well, not much to do while they're here, might as well be productive, besides I saw you training with Midoriya on how to use his shield." Nat commented.

Steve hummed, he was surprised by the shield Midoriya had, when he expanded it from his gauntlet, he had a similar fighting style to his own.

Tony saw and was teasing Steve about having a mini Captain America.

"How long do you think it'll take for them to open another portal?" He asked his friend.

"No idea, let's hope that it's soon." Natasha responded.

I walked into the large kitchen of Avengers tower early in the morning. I wore a shirt and shorts that the team bought.

I was glad that Natasha was able to guess our sizes correctly… Or was it Jarvis?

I saw Steve making breakfast with Natasha and Clint sitting on the dining table. Todoroki and Bakugo were with them, Todoroki was calmly eating some eggs and bacon.

Bakugo was eating some cereal… Cheerios? I held back a snort, Bakugo was anything but cheer

"Morning." I greeted them. "Morning, eggs?" Steve offered. I nodded and sat next down and Steve put a plate with eggs and bacon in front of me, the sun was rising so I doubt anyone else was up yet.

I ate and I looked at the two agents looking through their tablets, probably looking for Loki's sceptre…

Should I let Ultron be born… I don't think I could stop that…

I sighed and thought back to the 4 days we spent here. It was a rocky start but the Avengers were very hospitable, they even started to train us, I was fanboying so hard inside.

I met Maira Hill but only in passing, she looked at me and then walked away… cold but she's the second hand of Nick Fury… OMG I could meet him!

Bakugo got up and walked out, probably to train again. "... You wanna go after him?" Clint asked Natasha. "Kid can take care of himself, not much to do then train." She responded.

Oh… yeah we couldn't leave avengers tower. I was tempted to sneak out but I didn't want to get into trouble.

Melissa walked in looking… "Umm Melissa are you okay?" I asked as the blond sat next to me. Melissa didn't answer me, she was like a zombie, she didn't have her glasses on, her hair was a mess and she was only wearing a pink tank top and pajama pants, mumbling stuff that I couldn't follow.

"Had to take the tablet away from her, she couldn't crack Tony's little test and didn't sleep for 2 days." Natasha responded. "... what did Stark give her?" I looked at Melissa worriedly as I took some bacon and presented it to her.

Melissa sniffed the bacon and took a bite and chewed. Cute…

"Something that even surprised me." Nat stared at me as I fed Melissa. "What?" I asked, looking at her. Nat smirked and leaned in whispering it to my ear. "It was a puzzle for a first model miniature arc reactor." I leaned back and looked at Melissa in shock. "How close was she?" I asked.

"Very close actually, she was very determined to finish it but she was close to collapsing." I stared at Melissa for a moment. "I'm gonna take her to the lounge and let her rest a bit more." I said as I got up and picked her up in my arms.

"Sure thing Prince Charming." Clint smirked, making me blush and look at Melissa who fell back asleep.

"Not a word." I glared and took Melissa out of the room.

The kitchen was silent until Clint spoke up. "Those two look cute together." Nat looked at her friend. "You think?"

"Yeah, I bet that they'll get together later on." Clint grinned. "No… I think he and the gravity girl will get together." Nat crossed her arms. "I agree." Steve added.

"Really, why those two?" Clint asked. "Don't tell me you don't see the way she looks at him, she has a huge crush on him." Natasha ate an apple.

Steve chuckled as he drank some orange juice.

Melissa slept peacefully for the first time in a few days. That puzzle was hard but she could see what it was and was determined to crack it.

Until Natasha took it away and told her that it has been a few days since she slept… Yeah next time don't get too immersed.

She cuddled up to the pillow that she was hugging, it was so hard though.. But somewhat comfortable…. Wait why was…

Melissa slowly opened her eyes, her vision was a bit blurry without her glasses but she could see things near… She wasn't in her room.. She was in the lounge.

She froze as she looked at what or who she was hugging, Izuku Midoriya…. Who was asleep thankfully.

Melissa's face turned bright red as she slowly got up from their… cuddling position. She ran out of the room still red in the face.

She had to admit… she liked cuddling up with Midoriya.

When she met him, he was a nice guy, a loving brother and son. He was polite and very charismatic.

He came around the support studio to either talk to her or ask for some repairs on his hero costume and she developed a crush on him after a while.

Melissa didn't pay any mind to it but now it's coming back and she can't stop her heart from beating wildly.

She made it back to her room and sat on her bed. How did she end up in the lounge in Izuku's arms… She vaguely remembered sleep walking to the kitchen to get food and…

Melissa blushed harder and covered her face, now remembering that he fed her his food.

"Oh god.." She muttered.

"Okay… it's fine, you two are just friends… Just friends…" She took the tablet and resumed her puzzle hoping it'll get her mind off the event.

I sat on the edge of the hanger of Avengers tower. New York was bustling with activity.

Melissa was avoiding me for a bit… I don't blame her, it must've been embarrassing to wake up cuddling…

I blushed at the memory of 2 days ago. I was wondering what was taking David so long to fix and start up the portal… energy maybe..

Bakugo and Todoroki were sparring with Thor… They finally came to terms that they were sparring with a god and to say that Bakugo was excited to fight one was an understatement. Thor and Bakugo have a bit of a rivalry going on. Bakugo would try and one up Thor in hand to hand but the god of thunder was a mighty foe.

And surprisingly, Bakugo hasn't swore much and even then, not around Steve, I was hoping to hear Cap say. "Language… but nothing yet. Momo was training with Hawkeye. I smiled at the thought of Momo becoming a pro markswoman.

Ochako was training with Natasha and it was amazing to see how much Ochako has progressed.

Melissa finally finished her puzzle and was learning more under Tony and Bruce. She wanted to make her own arc reactor and was going by trial and error, sure she could use the blueprints but she wanted to go plus ultra and make it from what she knew now.

I saw the way Tony looked at her, it was kinda like how All Might would look at me, a mentor proud of his student.

I sighed and rubbed my face. I was hoping we could leave before the chaos started but I don't think I was getting my wish.

I got up and went to the elevator just in time to see the Avengers coming out in full gear. "Umm what's going on?" I asked in confusion. "Stay in the tower." Steve ordered as he entered the quinjet.

"Jarvis, set a course to Sakovia." Tony said with his Iron man suit assembling around him. Those words made my heart drop.

The Maximoff Twins.. Ultron. "Wait do you need any-" But I was cut off by a look from Steve. I shut up and watched the quinjet leave for Sakovia.

We arrived a week before Age of Ultron began.. Now we are gonna be in the middle of it.
