Chapter 28

The next few days were a blur since there was no threat hanging around.

Tony and Steve were friends again, after a rocky restart, Melissa was happy to have her pseudo mentor back.

She was working on something different, she wanted to make her own arc reactor back home.

Bakugo was training with his new gauntlets, they had more power but less kickback. He was a happy demo bastard that was for sure.

Todoroki was training with his fire with Thor, who could handle his flames. His control over them was not ideal.

Ochako and Momo were training with Natasha and Barton in martial arts.

Steve was helping me with my new shield.

I threw the shield and caught it once it came back. "Good work, but you need to be able to throw it again in a moment's notice." Steve lectured as he walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "You've been picking this up quickly." I smiled at him.

"Well, I've had a great teacher." I responded as I put the shield on my arm. "I miss home though." I muttered.

Steve nodded. "I know how that feels." He smiled. "But it should be any day now." I nodded. "I'm gonna go hit the showers." I said as I left to freshen up.

Melissa wiped her brow as she typed on her computer, she was working on something to help with her future plans on helping her world advance like this world has.

"Hatsume will be thrilled about this." Melissa smiled, actually missing the hyperactive girl.

"Who's Hatsume?" Bruce asked behind her, making Melissa jump slightly.

"Oh, Bruce, you scared me there." Melissa sighed. "Hatsume is an inventor like me, she helps me build stuff and does her own thing… Think of Tony but with more energy and less sanity." Melissa could still remember those explosions.

"... Well she sounds like a nightmare, but you seem happy to have her around." Bruce took a seat next to her. "Reminds me of myself and Tony, he called us science bros because of well.. I think you can guess." Bruce smiles at the name.

Melissa giggled at that. "Sounds like Tony." She responded. "Yeah, maybe you have your own version of Tony in your world, maybe you two can be.. Ehhh." Bruce tried to think of a name.

"Tech Sisters." Tony walked in. "Sounds like a perfect name for you and my so-called counterpart." Stark smiled at Melissa.

"Sounds like us Mr. Stark." Melissa agreed.

"Boss, we have energy readings that are similar to the one from 3 weeks prior." FRIDAY spoke up. Melissa's eyes widened. "The portal!"

Tony smiled, "Well kids, time for you to go home. Friday, call the other kids, tell them to pack up."

I had my backpack in hand as I walked to the hangar, we couldn't miss this portal, I was wearing my hero costume and had my shield on my back. I left a little something in Steve's room, I hope I didn't jeopardize anything.

I found Wanda standing in the hallway and caught sight of me. "You're leaving?" Her tone was sad and a bit hurt. I stopped in my tracks and nodded. "Yeah.. I'm sorry Wanda, we have to go home." I told her.

Wanda looked down. "I see.." I bit my lip and walked up to her and hugged her, "It's not goodbye, we might come back." I told her as I broke the hug and Wanda looked at me right in the eyes. "If not… I won't regret doing this."

I was about to ask what she was talking about but froze as I felt a pair of soft lips press up against mine.

Wanda Maximoff… The Scarlet Witch was kissing me. I closed my eyes and put my hands on her hips. Wanda pulls away. "I know what you did in Sokovia." She whispered. "For my brother… Thank you." She gave me a sweet smile.

I blinked. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "The stone, it connected us.. When you left, you stopped Ultron, if you didn't, Pietro wouldn't be here." She whispered. My eyes widened. "What else did it show you?" I asked.

"Nothing else.." She shook her head. I looked away. "Well.. you're welcome." We stayed there awkwardly for the next few minutes.

"You should go.." I looked at Wanda and frowned. "I.. Okay." I gripped my backpack and left Wanda in that hallway.

My friends as well as the avengers were on the quinjet, flying to the portal, it was apparently in the sky, right where we arrived.

"I can't believe we're going home.." Ochako looked sad as she said this. "I wish we could stay longer." Natasha patted her head making the girl pout.

Bakugo scoffed and looked out the window, "Why couldn't the portal be on the ground?" He asked. "Maybe, they used the same coordinates for our last departure." Melissa replied as she held onto her bag full of goodies.

"Well kids, looks like we found it." Stark announced as the quinjet came to a halt. "You're gonna have to jump it." Steve said as he looked down to see a blue portal.

Tony flipped a few switches and the center of the jet opened up to show the portal underneath.

I looked at the Avengers. "Thank you.. For everything." I smiled. "I hope things go well for you." Steve smiled. "Don't worry about us, just stay in school." Tony snorted.

Melissa hugged Tony and Bruce. "We'll come back once we're able to make a properly functional portal." She promised.

Bruce looked away. "Kid, you're gonna make me cry." Bruce looked ready to choke up. Shoto looked at Thor. "Thank you for your lessons." The god of thunder smiled and nodded. "You are most welcome and Bakugo, keep your temper in check, it can be a good weapon in battle but can also lead to your downfall."

Bakugo growled. "When I come back, I'm expecting a rematch." Thor smirked. "I'll be waiting."

Momo hugged Hawkeye. "Thank you for teaching me." She whispered. "Kid, come on." Clint patted her head with a smile.

Natasha stared at Ochako. "If a boy tries to hit on you, use the leg lock and make sure he stops breathing." Ochako rolled her eyes. "I'm not gonna kill anyone.." "You might need to, I taught you how to hide a body."

Wanda and I looked at each other, I blushed and looked away, I could see Pietro glaring at me. "What?" I asked. "Nothing… don't cause too much trouble." The speedster poked my chest. "I should be saying that to you." I jabbed back and we both smirked and fist bumped.

Vision stayed silent. I walked up to him. "Be careful with that thing." I said. "I will." The android nodded.

I looked at the spiraling portal and then at my friends.

"Ladies first?" I asked. Ochako rolled her eyes and pushed me off the jet and jumped after me. Melissa gulped and jumped after us.

Bakugo leaped in with Momo and Shoto following.

We fell through the portal and I turned to see my friends following. "What an adventure huh?" I asked with a smirk.

"It was." Momo commented. "But I will be happy to see our friends again."

Ochako's eyes widened. "Wait, if we're falling… are we gonna crash when we get to the other side?" She asked worried about our landing.

I turned around again, looking at the long spiral we were falling through. She was right. "Melissa, hang on to me, everyone else, brace yourselves for a bumpy landing!" Melissa grabbed onto me and I could see an opening in sight.

"Mr. Shield, we need to shut the portal down!" A scientist told David.

"NO! We need to keep it open long enough for them to come through!" David looked at the open portal. All Might next to him in his buff form. "Dave, it's been open for 20 minutes.. Maybe we have the wrong-" All Might was cut off as I came in flying through the portal, I adjusted my position to hit the wall shield/back first.

"GAH!" I groaned as I slid down the wall. Ochako came out next and made herself weightless and stopped her momentum.

Bakugo was next as he created small blasts to stop himself from hitting the wall. Momo came out after and was caught by Ochako. "Thank you!"

Shoto came out last as he used his flames to slow himself down.

"Shut it down!" David ran out of the observation room and embraced Melissa. "Oh sweetie." He held her tight.

"Dad." Melissa hugged her father tightly. "Young Midoriya!" All Might came in and pulled me to my feet and took notice of my new costume changes.

"Hey…" I got up and groaned. I looked at the buff hero. "... Wait, how long were we gone?" I asked as Kirishima hugged Bakugo to the blond's annoyance. "Just 3 hours…" The number one hero answered.

Melissa pulled away and stared at All Might wide eyed. "THREE HOURS?!" She exclaimed. "We've been gone for 3 weeks!" Ochako shouted.

Dave looked at his daughter shocked. "Wait.. where did you go?" Melissa looked at me, I smiled. "A really marvelous place." I smirked at my own pun. "Maybe we'll tell you about it but for now, I'm just happy to be home."

Melissa nodded in agreement. Mei came up and hugged Melissa tightly, surprising the blonde.

"I thought I wouldn't see you again." Mei whispered. Melissa couldn't see but Mei was tearing up.

Melissa smiled softly, remembering Tony and Bruce, she embraced the pink haired girl. "I couldn't leave my Tech Sis could I?" Mei laughed. "Tech sis, that's a new one."

Bakugo left with Kirishima back to their hotel room, Momo and Ochako took Jiro back to theirs. They would hopefully fill in the two about what happened. Shoto left for his hotel room already.

We were gone for only 3 hours in this world, time passed faster here than in the MCU, I wondered how long it had been since we left.

We still had the I-Expo Ball to go to. Thankfully Momo offered to make the clothes we wore back at the party at Avengers tower. She would have them delivered to us. I was able to tell Kirishima to convince Bakugo to attend.

Now me and Melissa along with Mei, David and All Might were sitting down in one of David's labs.

"So you went to a world of heroes?" All Might asked. I nodded. "Not just that, but heroes were still emerging, there was only one super hero team existing, the Avengers." I explained.

"3 of the heroes were quirkless, surprising as it seems." Melissa pitched in. "Quirkless heroes?" David looked surprised.

"And their technology was way more advanced." Melissa looked around her father's lab. "... Dad I'm sorry but… we're behind." Melissa said bluntly. "What kind of babies did you see!" Hatsume demanded.

"Well… for one, one of the heroes was named Tony Stark, an inventor and a genius, he had an AI assistant, a suit that was a technological marvel, and even solved the energy crisis in their world." Melissa listed out.

"Really, that sounds amazing." David was immersed in his daughter's tale. "Heh, yeah, you spent sleepless nights trying to crack that puzzle for the arc reactor." I smirked, making her blush.

"Wait, you read the schematics?" Davis asked. "Yeah, I know how it works, I want to try making one of my own, our world needs to take the next step." Melissa had a determined look on her face.

"I WANNA HELP!" Mei shook Melissa who stopped her. "I was gonna ask anyway." The blonde smiled.

"And the other heroes?" All Might asked. I smiled. "During our time there, we were trained by them. I was trained by a literal American hero, Captain America." I then took the shield off my back and presented it to them.

"This shield is the same as his, and it's indestructible." I grinned, "I find that hard to believe." Dave looked at the shield. "Dad.. the shield is stronger than steel and completely vibration absorbent." Melissa revealed.

"W-wait that's not possible." Dave was floored by the reveal. I put the shield back. "Melissa was learning under Tony and Bruce Banner, a hero and scientist in gamma radiation, his power let him transform into a beast that's almost as powerful as All Might."

"Then there were the two agents, one taught Momo how to use her quirk for long range combat, and the other one taught Uraraka better hand to hand combat." Melissa said. "Hawkeye and Black Widow." I grinned at the mention. "Both quirkless but strong."

"Then there was a literal god of Thunder." I smirked. "Thor from norse mythology is a real thing there."

"Wow, sounds like you had quite the adventure." Dave chuckled weakly. "You have no idea." I laughed and got up from my bed.

"But for now, we have a party to go to!"

The ball was at full swing, no criminal break in, no fuss, just a boring old party.

I sighed as I tugged on my collar. "Man, this is kinda boring." I muttered. "Oh I agree, but we can't just skip." Momo said as she came up to me with Ochako and Jiro behind her. We were both in our formal attire. "Though, Mr. Stark's party was more enjoyable."

"Here here." Ochako sipped her drink. "From what I heard that party was better than this." Jiro sighed. "Maybe we can bring you next time." I snickered. I looked over and saw Melissa and Mei talking in the corner of the room.

I spotted Bakugo and Kirishima mingling just around the table with food and refreshments.

"After our adventure, I think we deserve a bit of downtime." Ochako commented. Shoto suddenly came up behind us. "We still have our training camp, so taking some time off would be ideal." He spoke in his monotone voice as usual.

I smiled. "Yeah, but that's three weeks away, maybe we can do something just as a class." I remembered the pool episode… Instead of a pool, why not a beach?

"That does sound grand." Momo beamed. "We should plan when we go back home, right now let's enjoy the expo." I grinned.

"Hey Deku, wanna get some drinks with me?" Ochako asked. "Sure!" I went with her to the table.

Things were bright, with what we learned, nothing could stop us.

Back in Japan, in the high security prison of Tartarus.

"SIR SIR SIR!" A guard came up to the warden in the control center. "What is it?" The warden asked the guard. "We have a missing prisoner!" The warden's eyes widened.

"Who!" The warden growled and tapped on the keyboard. "How could someone escape under our…" The warden looked in shock as he saw who was missing.

"We need to call it in-" "No." The guard looked in surprise. "Sir?"

The warden turned to guard. "Call the HPSC, now! we can't let anyone know about this." He grabbed the guard's collar. "Do you understand!?" The guard nodded as he was let go and ran to call the HPSC.

The warden looked at the screen, showing the record of the escapee. "How could she have escaped.." He scowled.

In an abandoned warehouse. A woman was stretching her arms, "You went through a lot of trouble busting me out." She spoke, looking at the misty figure. "My master wanted your expertise in capturing an individual." Kurogiri said.

"Why would I want to do that, I can just walk out." The woman gave a lazy smile. "Because this individual is a likely pawn for the HPSC." A smooth voice rang through the warehouse.

The woman's eyes narrowed. Kurogiri lifted up his phone, "From what I understand, you loathe the HPSC, they were never honest with you were they, do you want them to claim another child to become their little puppet?"

"... All for one." The woman crossed her arms. "I spent a lot of time hunting you down... Who is this kid you're talking about?" She asked.

"Kurogiri." The mist villain showed her a photo. "His name is Izuku Midoriya, a rising star in the hero society, he defeated Stain and is becoming quite popular, people are calling him the next All Might." All for one spoke as the woman examined the photo.

"... They might make him a pawn.." She clenched her fist. "And what do you want?" She asked. "To turn him to our side, under my rule, I won't have anything to hide, no masks."

"... Fine.. I'll join your little band." The woman agreed. "But I need to get some stuff before anything else."

"Take your time, we are still planning, my protege is currently gathering his own party as he says." All for one explained. "Hmmm… just give me the address and I'll drop by when I'm ready."

"It's good to have you on board Lady Nagant. Kurogiri, take her to where she needs to go." With that All For One hung up.
