Alice stood watching the scene before her in confusion. She had been in the forest behind the Cullens' home in Forks, Washington when she felt the sudden urge to run east. She hadn't had a vision just an overwhelming feeling that she really needed to run east. When she tried to fight it and turn around her feet wouldn't obey her and kept moving east. It was a strange feeling and Alice was getting very worried. She had tried to focus to have a vision to see what was going to happen but when she closed her eyes all she saw was static. It was like she was watching tv and someone messed with the antenna. Just when she decided to call her family for help, her body stopped so suddenly that she stumbled to keep her balance.

Once she was upright she was met with the strangest sight. A woman wearing a white summer dress was standing in a small clearing surrounded by animals. She had birds flying around her head weaving flowers throughout her hair. If that wasn't enough of a surprise she was calmly petting a large bear that was laying at her feet. It seemed like there was representatives from each animal species that lived in the forest. Alice didn't even bother to hold in her laugh when two baby foxes climbed over the bear to get the woman's attention.

"Hello Marie Alice." The woman never looked up from the foxes as she spoke.

Alice was surprised by the feeling of warmth and comfort she felt when the woman spoke. "My name isn't Marie Alice it's just Alice.'

"I'm sorry Alice. I hadn't realized you had shortened your name. You used to hate it when others did." The woman told her as she picked up both foxes. The foxes immediately snuggled into her arms.

"What do you mean I used to hate it? Did you know me when I was human?" Alice wasn't sure what to make of this woman.

"I know every one when they are however are Marie Alice Brandon born on February 23rd in the year 1901 in Biloxi Mississippi. Your parents were Richard and Virginia Brandon and you had a sister Cynthia who married a man named Franco Bowen, together they had one child a daughter they named Marie Alice after you. She is actually still alive and lives in a nice retirement facility near where her only son and his family live." The woman told her.

Alice was stunned. She didn't know if she actually believed the woman but it was enough information that if she was telling the truth then she could confirm it. "How do you know all of this?"

"I know many things Marie Alice. Excuse me I mean I know many things Alice." The woman said cryptically.

"Do you know who changed me into a vampire?" Alice wondered if the woman knew who her maker was.

"Yes I do but that is a very sad story are you sure you want hear it?" The woman asked.

"Yes please." Alice hadn't even realized that she hadn't asked who the woman was. It was almost like she was in a trance and who the woman was wasn't important.

"When you were human you had visions as well. It was because of those visions the people around you thought you were possessed by demons. When you were 20 years old they admitted you into an insane asylum. There a vampire named Bernard took an interest in you. You used to share your visions with him and when you had one of a vampire named James coming to kill you Bernard changed you before he could. Unfortunately for both you and Bernard James killed Bernard in a fit of rage for what he had done leaving you alone to deal with changing into a vampire by yourself."

"Why can't I remember any of this?" Alice asked.

"Because in the hospital they gave you electric shock treatments that erased your memory. You had one right before Bernard came to take you away from that place. You didn't even recognize him when he came to get you the night he changed you." The woman told her.

"Huh." Alice didn't know if she actually believed the woman but she would look into it.

"You have a gravestone with your name on it in Biloxi. When your sister was older she had it made and put it in the family plot." The woman said.

"Why do the animals obey you?" Alice asked. She was focused on the now sleeping foxes in the woman's arms. The looked very cute.

The women shifted so Alice could see the foxes better."Would you like to pet them?"

"I would love to but animals don't like us." Alice really did want to pet them but knew she couldn't.

"That won't be a problem just be very careful with them, they aren't as strong as you are." The woman warned.

Alice reached out a finger and ran it over the fox's back. She smiled when it turned over in the woman's arms to encourage her to pet it's belly. "It's so soft."

"Would you like to hold him?" The woman asked.

"Yes please." Alice eagerly moved her arms so she could cradle the fox safely. It immediately snuggled into Alice once again rolling over so she would give it belly rubs. Alice happily obliged. "Why isn't he scared of me?"

"Because you have a pure heart Alice.I can see it. If you didn't I would have never let you touch have an aura of kindness that surrounds you. It is very humbling to know those of your kind can still maintain some purity of the soul." The woman seemed to get a far away look in her eyes like she was remembering something tragic.

"My kind? Are you not a vampire as well?" Alice was confused. She figured the woman was a vampire with a gift. She hadn't smelt like a shifter.

The woman chuckled. "Unfortunately for you I am not a vampire."

"Why is it unfortunate?" Alice knew whatever the answer was it wasn't going to be something positive.

"Because if I were a vampire I would look the other way while you committed your crimes." The woman said looking Alice in the eye.

Alice's breath caught as she looked into the woman's eyes. The brown was gone and in it's place was a sky blue with fire dancing in the irises. Alice was suddenly very afraid. "What are you?"

"What I am is not something you need to worry about. What you should worry about is what I will do to you and your entire coven if you continue to drain my children of their blood. I let it go hoping you would go back to your nature but as your coven leader has added more to his way of thinking I can stand aside no longer. You were created to hunt a specific species and I know for a fact that in this day and age your coven leader, a doctor at that could get you all the blood you needed to survive so you didn't have to kill humans. I may have a soft spot for you Marie Alice but I will not hesitate to avenge those of my creations that you have killed for the farcical reason of maintaining your humanity." The woman told her.

"What will you do if I can't stop them?" Alice was going to make sure she and Jasper stopped hunting animals immediately. The woman before her radiated power and Alice wasn't sure exactly what she was but knew she was a being that could easily kill anything set in her path.

"I have already warned your so called cousins." The woman said ignoring Alice's question. "Now this is your official warning. The mind reader will be your main problem so I will not hold it against you for any of his foolishness. However if the rest of you don't stop no one will be spared from my wrath."

As the woman took the fox from Alice and walked back to where it's mother was waiting Alice asked a final question. "If we do follow your rules will you still come back to visit?"

"For you Marie Alice I would." The woman said as she set the fox down and disappeared.

Alice shook herself trying to figure out if what she had just experienced was real. If it wasn't for the fact that she was watching a bunch of predators and prey walk slowly away not worried about her presence or that of each other she would have thought this whole experience was a dream. She smiled when the little fox trotted over to her on its way to follow it's mother and sibling. Bending down Alice gave it a scratch behind the ear. She waited until the fox and most of the animals were out of sight before she ran home as fast as she could. As soon as she hit the front step she called out. "Family meeting in the living room right now."

"Alice what's wrong?"Jasper asked coming to his mate's side and checking her over for injuries.

"I'm alright." Alice reassured him.

"What's that smell?" Rosalie walked over to Alice and sniffed her. She smelt like Alice, animals and something truly wonderful. Rosalie had never smelled anything like it and she had the sudden urge to find out what the scent belonged to so she could experience the smell for herself.

"What smell?" Emmett asked. He walked over to Alice and sniffed. "You smell like you've been rolling around with animals. Did you have trouble while hunting?"

"No I didn't get to hunt. I smell like animals because I was holding a baby fox." Alice said.

"Why were you holding a baby fox?" Emmett's mate Edith asked.

"Because the woman I met asked if I wanted to and when I said yes she handed it to me." Alice said like it was no big deal she held a fox.

Before they could all ask Alice the questions they had Carlisle held up his hand. "Alright everyone to the living room, then we will have Alice tell us what happened."

"Did the woman you met smell like you do now?" Rosalie asked as soon as everyone took seats on the furniture in the living room. If the woman did Rosalie was going to do everything in her power to find her.

"Let's start at the beginning." Carlisle knew they had to stay on track or they would be there for hours and no important information would be learned. "You said you were going you left the house what happened?"

"Well I started to notice that there was no wildlife around to hunt. It was as I tried to stop to look for clues as to why I realized that I couldn't. It was like something had taken control of my body and it wasn't going to let me stop until it wanted me to." Alice said.

"So you believe someone had taken control of your body?" Carlisle asked. He had never heard of someone having a gift like that.

Alice nodded. "Someone definitely had control of my body. It was when I was finally able to stop I saw a woman. She looked like a fairy tale princess standing amongst a group of wildlife that seemed to be vying for her attention. She was petting a large grizzly bear that was laying at her feet and if that wasn't enough of a shock she had birds circling her head weaving flowers into her hair."

"She was petting a grizzly bear and it didn't try to attack her?" Emmett wasn't sure he actually believed what Alice was saying.

"Yeah I was surprised too. When she spoke her voice felt like a warm caress. Like she was engulfing me in love and safety. She easily recognized me and said she knew who I was when I was even knew who my sire was and how I became a vampire." Alice told them.

"And you believed her?" Edward was trying to follow the scene in Alice's mind but it seemed like it was out of focus and everything pertaining to the woman was blurry.

"She gave me a lot of facts about my human self that with a little research I could confirm if they were true. She even told me that I have a living niece and some other living relatives as well." Alice would have been researching it right then if it wasn't so important to tell the family of the woman's warning.

"Did she say how she knew you?" Edith asked.

"I asked how she knew about me and she replied that she knew many things and left it at that. When she saw that I was interested in the baby foxes she was holding she asked if I wanted to hold one and assured me that it wouldn't be afraid. She was right because as soon as it was in my arms it rolled over so I could rub it's belly." Alice hoped she would get the chance to see the little fox again.

"So the smell on you is that woman's?" Rosalie figured the woman's scent transferred to the fox who transferred it to Alice.

Alice shrugged. "I guess."

"Ok back to the story. After she handed you the fox what happened?" Carlisle found this whole story very interesting. Not only was the woman able to take over Alice's body but she seemed to be able to calm animals to the point Alice could hold one.

"I asked why the fox wasn't afraid of me and she told me it was because I had a pure soul and instead of saying for a vampire she said for your kind. It was then I realized that she wasn't a vampire nor was she a I asked her what she was she wouldn't tell me." Alice told them.

"Wait are saying this woman is some unknown supernatural hanging around our territory. This could be dangerous. We need to find this woman right away and make sure she isn't a threat." Edward wasn't going to let an unknown entity close to his family without making sure they could control it first.

"Oh she's a threat alright." Alice felt an unnatural chill go through her body thinking of the way the woman's eyes changed.

"Why do you say that?" Jasper asked.

"Because she threatened all of us." Alice said.

"That settles it then. We need to find this woman and eliminate her before she can make her move against us." Edward was already trying to figure out how to keep his human mate Olivia safe from this threat.

Rosalie growled as she stood to attack Edward only to be pulled back to her seat by Edith. "Let me go."

"No can do honey bunches of oats." Edith would have loved to see Rosalie beat the crap out Edward but they had other things to discuss like why Rosalie wanted to suddenly kill Edward. Well Rosalie always wanted to kill Edward what Edith wanted to know was why Rosalie suddenly felt the need to act on her urge to kill him.

"You think you have some claim on this woman?" Edward scoffed as he read Rosalie's mind.

"I don't need to have a claim on anyone to protect them from you." Rosalie had been trying to hide her thoughts from Edward but it was hard when her every thought was focused on how to go about finding the stranger. She would have to talk to Carlisle about why that was after the meeting was over.

"That's enough." Carlisle scolded the pair. The two fighting was a normal occurrence but it was of great interest why Rosalie thought she had some kind of claim to the woman. "Alice what happened after she confirmed that she wasn't a vampire or a shifter?"

"Her eyes changed from the brown they originally were to this sky blue color that was actually kind of pretty. What wasn't pretty though was the obvious flames dancing in that blue. I felt like I was frozen on the spot like I couldn't move when our eyes met." Alice took a breath to calm herself enough to finish the rest of the story. "While I was immobilized she said that she was there to warn us that we would face retribution if we continued to drain what she called her children. She meant animals and then she made a comment about Carlisle being a doctor and that he should be easily able to get us human blood to live off of without having to harm humans."

"So she wants us to stop feeding on animals?" Carlisle wasn't sure how he felt about that. It had been his way of life since he was turned and he wasn't sure he was going to change that even if he was threatened by an unknown being.

Alice shook her head. "It wasn't a request, she demanded we stop feeding from animals. She said if even one of us went against her wishes we would all be held accountable. The woman also mentioned she had talked to our cousins and I think she meant the Denali."

"So what are we going to do?" Emmett wasn't sure he wanted to fight someone who could take control of his body. He did however want to see if her eyes were as cool as Alice described them.

"We aren't going to let some stranger dictate how we live our lives. She is just making empty threats. If we call the Denali and gather them here then we could easily defeat her with those numbers and fighting abilities on our side. That's not even mentioning any of our gifts. I could easily take care of her by myself it came to it." Edward was positive he could take on a single woman. With his gift she would be no match for him.

"We will not be fighting her, you idiot." Rosalie yelled at Edward. She wasn't going to let him even close to the woman if he didn't get out the mind set of hurting her.

"That is the only way that we not only get to live but to continue on with our way of surviving." Edward turned to Carlisle knowing his sire would side with him. "Tell them Carlisle, tell them we are not going to let a mere woman tell us how to live our lives."

"We will call the Denali." Before Edward could shoot more than a smug look at Rosalie Carlisle continued. "However we aren't going to be fighting anyone. We will see what they have to say then we will make a plan together as this issue affects both our families."

"Be reasonable Carlisle. You are willing to just let some stranger decide what two covens should feed on?!" Edward was outraged with his coven leader.

"No Edward I am going to speak with the other coven involved and together we are going to make a plan for how to deal with this unknown. If the woman talked to them they may have a better understanding of who or what she is." Carlisle told them.

"You are making a huge mistake." Edward said as he stormed out of the house.

"Don't worry he is just going to Olivia's house. The woman did tell me that although the rest of us were to be held responsible for each other she knew that the mind reader as she called Edward would be a problem and she wouldn't hold what he does against us." Alice was going to keep an eye on Edward. Not because she was going to stop him from hunting she just wanted another chance to talk to the mysterious woman.

"I do worry about him though. The woman is an unknown supernatural species and not knowing exactly what she is is very troubling." Carlisle sighed. "I guess the best thing to do is call the Denali. You all may be in the room for the call if you wish."

Rosalie knew she wasn't going to miss out on the call. The Denali may be able to tell them more about the mystery woman. For some reason Rosalie knew that she really needed to meet her. It was getting really hard not to drag Alice back into the forest to get her to show her where she found the woman so Rosalie maybe would be able to find a clue on how to go about locating her. She would talk to Carlisle about this after the call. She was beginning to get concerned with the way her mind had been focused on the woman since she smelt her scent on Alice. There was nothing to do now but to wait until they talked to the Denali, maybe they would have a way to get in touch with the woman or if they didn't Rosalie could always follow behind Edward while he hunted hoping that the woman would attack him right away. She liked the thought of that. Not only would she meet the woman but Edward would most likely get his ass kicked.
