Chapter 6: The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday
Mundungus was having a rather bad time, as he was currently being interrogated by four teenagers. "Talk! When you ransacked this house, you found a locket, correct?" Harry asked. "Why? Was it valuable?" Mundungus asked, before getting punched in the face by Naruto. "Answer the damn question, did you find a locket, yes or no?" Harry stated. "Alright fine, yes I found a locket, are you happy?" Mundungus said, spitting out blood. "Do you still have the locket?" Hermione asked, as Ron scoffed. "No. He's worried he should have got more money for it," Ron stated. "Wouldn't be difficult, would it? Bleedin' gave it away, din' I? There I was, pitching my wares in Diagon Alley when some ministry hag came up and asked to see my license. Says she's of a mind to lock me up and would've, too, she hadn' taken a fancy to that locket," Mundungus explained. Naruto raised an eyebrow, "Who was the witch then, if you claim to have sold it?" Naruto asked. "Well, she's right there, in't she? Bleedin' bow an' all," Mundungus retorted, as he pointed at the picture of a woman on the Daily Prophet, who was none other than Dolores Umbridge. The group looked at each other before looking at Mundungus who was just smirking.
A Few Days Later
The four have decided to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic to reclaim the locket from Umbridge. But in order to get in, they needed disguises so they made a plan on how to enter. For Naruto, he's going to use the transformation jutsu, whereas the others are going to use the Polyjuice Potion. Right now, Naruto is helping Harry and Ron drag three people they knocked out, which were two wizards and a witch. "Ok, we got these three, is the potion ready?" Harry asked. "It's ready, now all I need is their hair for it to work," Hermione explained. "Wait, what about you Naruto? Who are you going to look like?" Ron asked, as the others wanted to know. Naruto smirked, before he used the transformation jutsu. He turns into a handsome man in his mid twenties, with grayish blue eyes, sporting white hair, stylized to look spiky while also keeping a fade. He also wears a blue overcoat, a white dress shirt, a black tie, a black suit vest, black slacks, and dark brown leather shoes. To finish it off, he also wears a pair of glasses and black leather gloves.
"This is who I'm going to look like guys," Naruto stated as the others nodded. "Right. So let's do it. Who gets who?" Ron asked. "Well, unless one of you fancies wearing a skirt…" Hermione stated, as she plucked out a hair from the unconscious witch. "Remember what we said. Keep your eyes down. Don't speak to anyone unless absolutely necessary. Act as normal as possible. Just do what you see everyone else doing. We do that - and with a bit of luck - we get ourselves inside. And then…," Hermione stated. "It gets much harder," Harry finished. "Right, after all there is a saying: The only easy day was yesterday" Naruto stated. The three took the Polyjuice potion, while Naruto waited for them and soon they came out. "This is completely mental," Harry stated. "Completely, utterly, without a question," Hermione stated, agreeing. "The world's mental," Ron added. "Suck it up you three, we've got a Horcrux to find," Naruto stated, as they all left.
While the four were walking, they talked about what their fake names or alias would be. "In case you're interested, I'm Reg Cattermole, Magical Maintenance Department," Ron or rather Reg stated. "Mafalda Hopkirk, assistant in the Improper Use of Magic Office," Hermione or rather Mafalda stated. Harry checked his pockets, only to find no id. "I'm nobody then," Harry stated. "Well at least you're somebody," Naruto stated, as the others look at him. "Well who are you then?" they asked. "Well since this is more of a combination of me without whisker marks and a rather young looking Grindelwald, my alias is Percival de Wolfenstein and technically there is nobody with this name. But since I made a fake ministry ID in case of a situation like this, my job description states that I work at the International Magical Office of Law," Naruto or rather Percival explained. The others were surprised, but nodded at the explanation as they walked to the public toilets.
With Naruto, Harry, and Ron
The three disguised boys were in separate lines, looking around as everybody entered the cubicles. They hear flushing sounds, as the cubicles open to reveal nobody there. The three stepped in separate cubicles, but they are trying to figure out what to do. "We flush ourselves in?" Ron/Reg asked. "I think so," Harry or rather Albert stated. "That's fricking disgusting," Naruto/Percival added, looking rather grossed out. Nevertheless, the three stepped inside the toilet and proceeded to flush themselves in and within seconds they shot out of the fireplace at the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic.
Naruto/Percival and Harry/Albert see that Hermione/Mafalda was already there, as she stared at the statue showing a wizard and witch sitting atop of a hundred people who look to be in severe agony and pain. "Are those…" Harry/Albert asked, looking shocked. "Muggles…in their rightful place," Hermione/Mafalda stated, looking shocked, horrified, and disgusted. Naruto/Percival was disgusted and pissed off as he thought that from the way the statue looked, it's almost as if the Third Reich returned with a vengeance. He held onto Hermione/Mafalda's hand, as she looked at him and the two nodded at each other. Ron/Reg arrives, looking rather anxious as people keep telling him good luck. "I gotta tell you, I'm starting to freak out a bit," Ron/Reg stated.
They soon notice a group of rather young rough looking wizards, as they were dragging someone who looked bloodied up. "Seems like the Ministry is hiring young people as of now," Harry/Albert stated. "They're not the Ministry. They're Snatchers. They hunt muggle-borns and blood-traitors for a price," Ron/Reg. "So in other words, a bunch of no good bounty hunters looking for easy money," Naruto/Percival stated.
"How long did you say this batch of Polyjuice Potion would last, Hermione?" Harry/Albert whispered. "I didn't," Hermione/Mafalda whispered back. "Guys let's get this over with, we have a job to do," Naruto/Percival stated. The four went to an elevator and were about to press a button, when Yaxley held the elevator gate. "Cattlemole!" Yaxley called, as the four looked at him. "It's still raining in my office. Two days now," he stated, looking rather miffed. "Really? Have you tried an umbrella?" Ron/Reg retorted, as Yaxley looked at him suspiciously. "You do realize I'm on my way downstairs, don't you, Cattermole?" Yaxley asked, as Ron/Reg raised an eyebrow. "What for…?" he asked. "To interrogate your wife! If my wife's blood status were in doubt and the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement needed a job doing, I think I'd make it a priority. You've got one hour," Yaxley stated before leaving. The elevator doors closed and soon the lift went to where it was headed.
"Oh my god. What am I going to do? My wife's all alone downstairs?" Ron/Reg stated, looking pretty worried, as the others just looked at him funny. "Ron, you don't have a wife," Harry/Albert stated. "Oh. Right…" Ron/Reg stated, blushing in embarrassment, as Naruto/Percival and the others snickered. Anyways, the four discussed their game plan on how this mission is going to go, as it seemed that it was going to look rather suspicious if the four went all together to one level. Soon, Ron/Reg left the elevator, as he arrived at his designated floor level. "Good luck, Ron," Naruto/Percival stated, as Ron/Reg nodded before doing his task. While the three rode the elevator, they were sounding pretty worried for Ron/Reg.
"Don't worry Hermione, Ron's got this to the letter. He'll be fine," Naruto/Percival stated, trying to assure Hermione/Mafalda that everything will be fine. "Yeah, what he said. Ron's been coming here since he was two years old. It's us three you should be worrying about," Harry/Albert stated. "You really have horrible teeth, you know that," Hermione/Mafalda pointed out, as Naruto/Percival snickered. "She's got a point, ya know?" Naruto/Percival stated, as Harry/Albert blushed and muttered shut up. "I say if we don't locate Umbridge within the hour, we go find Ron and come back another day. Deal?" Harry offered. Little did he know that the person they were looking for was here, as Umbridge stood outside of the elevator, as the gates opened. The three froze, when Umbridge stood there looking at her clipboard before looking at Hermione/Mafalda. "Ah, Mafalda! Travers sent you, did he? Good. We'll go straight down," Umbridge said, as she entered the lift. "Albert, aren't you getting out?" she asked Harry/Albert. Harry/Albert left quickly, as he turned around to see that Hermione/Mafalda was looking rather nervous if not terrified, whereas Naruto/Percival looked calm as he nodded to Harry, stating that he and Hermione will be fine.
With Naruto and Hermione
The two were really not having a good time, as they're on an elevator with one of their most hated professors who was really a bitch. The ride was silent of course, as nobody spoke a word given how tense the situation is. Umbridge turns to Naruto/Percival, who was looking rather calm, but secretly he is on the edge right now. "I believe we have never met before, may I ask who you are?" Umbridge asked. "Percival. Percival de Wolfenstein," Naruto/Percival answered calmly. "Ah I see, are you German perhaps, given your last name and all?" Umbridge asked. Naruto/Percival nodded, "Yes I am German," Naruto/Percival lied underneath his teeth. Umbridge nodded and asked more questions. "What department do you work for?" Umbridge asked. Naruto/Percival explained that he worked for the International Magical Office of Law and explained that he was transferred here from Germany. Soon the elevator ride ended, as the three left the elevator to head to where they had to go. Needless to say, both Naruto and Hermione felt awfully sickened having to deal with Umbridge.
With Harry
Harry/Albert had just infiltrated Umbridge's Office, as he used the decoy detonators to distract the workplace, making it easy for him to enter the lair of the toad. "Accio locket!" Harry/Albert shouted, but alas no locket was found in here. He went through all the drawers and cabinets, looking for the locket. There was no locket found, but there were some rather interesting files and dossiers. He looks through the files to see that it was about his friends and their allies, along with their blood status and whether they're dead or alive. Harry/Albert was disgusted by what he saw, but nevertheless took some of the files with him. He soon leaves the office, as a Ministry official was trying to calm the situation at hand. He enters the elevator and soon Ron/Reg arrive and greet him as if they were coworkers. "Ron it's me," Harry/Albert stated, as Ron/Reg looked surprised. "Harry! Blimey, I forgot what you looked like. Where's Naruto and Hermione?" he asked. "They're in the courtroom with Umbitch," Harry/Albert explained, as the elevator arrived at their exact location. The two walked down the hallway to enter the courtroom, as a trial was happening right now.
With Naruto and Hermione
The two were at the courtroom with Umbridge, as a trial commenced regarding someone's wife being questioned for her blood status. As they watched the trial commence, they felt a sense of dread as the dementors were on the top watching this whole scene play out. That's when the two noticed Harry/Albert and Ron/Reg, as they nodded at them. It was a good thing Naruto/Percival sensed that the locket was on Umbridge, as it made things easier despite the fact the situation is a little complicated right now. Ron/Reg and Harry/Albert walk up to the middle of the courtroom, as the others look at them.
For Naruto, he was assessing the situation right now, waiting for the right time to strike. As the defendant pleads to the court about her blood status. But before Naruto did anything, it seemed that Harry was on the same page as well, given that he quickly took out his wand. "What the devil are you doing, Albert?" Umbridge asked. "You're lying. And one mustn't tell lies Umbridge…Stupefy!" Harry/Albert shouted, stunning Umbridge as his face turned back to normal. Naruto turned back to his normal self, as he helped out Harry and Ron/Reg disarm the guards. Hermione/Mafalda grabbed the locket and threw it at Naruto as he catched it. She then used the relashio spell, breaking the restraints on the woman. The woman was amazed that Harry Potter was there, but now isn't the time as they were running away from the dementors.
They got in the elevator and Harry shutted the gates, as the dementors tried to suck out their souls. "Expecto Patronum!" both Harry and Naruto shouted, conjuring a silvery stag and Nine Tailed Fox, as the two patronuses rushed at the dementors. The Nine Tails patronus fired a tailed beast bomb, instantly repelling the dementors away, as they escape in fear of the silver tailed beast.
Soon the elevator went up and arrived at the floor they were headed, as they left. Hermione was finally back to normal, whereas Ron still looked like Reg. While the others walked away quickly, Ron/Reg was trying to tell the woman to escape. "Mary. Go home. Get the kids. I'll... I'll meet you there. We have to get out of the country, understand?" he asked. The woman, Mary, was looking rather confused as she shook her head. "Mary! Do as I say, trust me," Ron/Reg ordered. Mary tearfully nods, but before Ron/Reg can leave, Mary pulls him into a deep kiss. Ron/Reg was surprised by that rather bold move, as the others looked at them in surprise with their eyes popping out and their jaws open. Soon Ron transforms back into his normal self, as Mary breaks from the kiss and is shocked by who she kissed. "Oh. My. God…I just kissed a seventeen year old…" she said quietly, not comprehending the fact that she actually did. Ron was really surprised, as he couldn't even say anything.
"Mary? Who's that?!" Reg asked, as he arrived, only in his underwear as he was shocked and confused by what he saw. Ron awkwardly chuckled, "It's a long story, really. Nice meeting you though," he said, as he quickly joined the group. But as the group tried to escape, it seemed that someone had caught them, announcing both Harry and Naruto's name. Soon the guards arrived, as they chased after the four. "We need to get out of here as fast as possible! Head to the fireplaces!" Naruto stated, as he created a couple of shadow clones to distract the guards. Just then Yaxley arrived, looking rather pissed off. "Seal the fireplaces! Don't let them escape!" he ordered. Some of the fireplaces were sealed, leaving only one of them open as the four along with Yaxley jumped in, as they all vanished inside. The four clashed with Yaxley, as they looked like their bodies were being ripped apart or rather splinched. Luckily the four got out safely, as Yaxley was nowhere to be found. But instead of being at Grimmauld place, they were in a forest.
