A/N: I am thirsty for this couple and I need more content so I made this. Not very good at fanfic but I tried. Please tell me I'm not the only SasuRei shipper or I will cry in my corner. All critique/feedback is welcome and appreciated.
Ten more minutes. She would only wait ten more minutes. She had sworn to herself that she would no longer indulge him in this game he'd been playing for these last two weeks. Yet here she was again sweeping at the height of Hikawa shrine's steps, without a justification. Rei had officially lost her mind.
"Oh? Were you expecting me, kitten~?"
Those words caused her to jump and nearly fall. She paused with her back turned to the source of that voice for a second, as if gathering a semblance of equilibrium. Quickly, she faced him.
Ah. There it was. That look again. The one where her face would glow red-hot, and her expression would turn into a mixture between embarrassment and flabbergast.
"Will you stop calling me that?!"
She may have hidden behind a cool and mysterious facade to everyone else, but to him this was the true Rei Hino.
"And how could I not expect you, what with you showing up here constantly," she added.
Though she had gained enough composure to glare at him, there was not much she could do to hide the very bright and very obvious flush in her cheeks.
In return, he bestowed her with that deviously innocent smile that she dreaded.
"But Rei-chan, it's impossible when I'm so drawn to your beauty," he expressed as he winked coquettishly.
"You can't be serious," she snapped once again, "Why are you here?"
He sighed dramatically as he placed a hand to his forehead and his eyebrows drew together, as if to suggest a pained exasperation.
"Have I not been obvious enough, or are you really dense," he asked.
"I guess it can't be helped," he continued as he began to reach for something in his back pocket.
Rei did not know whether to be offended or not but the thought was cut short when he grabbed her free hand and placed a single casablanca lily into her grasp. The warmth of his hands from his brief touch caught her off guard.
"I'm in love with you."
His obsidian eyes turned darker, and the playful tone in his voice was lost.
She had no words.
He stood there unwavering for what felt like an eternity, and she could only stare in return.
The moment ended when another voice popped up.
"What's this~ Rei-chan has a boyfriend?!"
Behind them just a few steps below, a long blond haired girl with twin buns stared at them; awe and admiration twinkling behind wide blue eyes.
Not knowing how to respond at the moment, Sasuke interjected for her.
"Only if she accepts," he replied with a sheepish smile, which in Rei's opinion was very not Sasuke-like at all.
He turned back to Rei.
"I'll come back for you," he determined, and then he descended down the steps to leave.
Her friend ran excitedly to her as soon as he was out of sight and held her tight.
"Oh my gosh you're so in looove!! Who is he? He's sooo hot! Almost as hot as Mamo-chan," she chirruped cheerfully.
Rei shook Usagi away from her, the redness slowly creeping on her face as her mind finally caught up with everything that had just happened to her.
"Will you get off of me? And nothing is going on."
Undeterred, Usagi gave Rei an irritatingly smug look.
"You know I'll find out sooner or later." I'm
And she absolutely would, much to Rei's chagrin. Displeased at the thought she turned her back to the blonde.
"Whatever, I have a headache. I'm gonna go lie down. You can go home."
And with that, she wandered off leaving Usagi behind. She did not miss the way the lily was safely guarded in her hand. Whoever he was, he certainly seemed to know Rei well.
Usagi stood there until she vanished, out of mere disbelief at what she had witnessed, but also happiness for her friend. She took her phone out and went to her contacts.
"The girls are not gonna believe me when they hear this."
