Chapter 2: Exam Time
Izuku looked at the building in front of him, after all it was the best hero school in the country after all three out of the top give heroes in the country attended this school. After moving out the way of a classmate/former childhood friend/bully and thinking about him he headed into the school..
However he ended up tripping.
Thankfully he didn't fall.
He found himself floating.
"What!" he said.
"Sorry about that Izu-Kun." Said Ochaco who had used her quirk on him.
Izuku started blushing.
After they had met, they had texted each other many times, she had taken to calling him "Izu-Kun".
"Are you okay?" asked Ochaco releasing her quirk on him.
Her quirk let her remove an object's gravity by placing special pads on her finger tips.
Pressing her hands together released the effect.
"It's just that hearing you call me that in in person." Said Izuku.
Ochaco helped him up, she wanted to giggle at that thought, but at the same time it hurt a little, knowing that he had such a hard for his Quirklessness.
"Oh Izu-Kun…" said Ochaco.
"Oh we should head inside!" said Izuku.
"Oh yeah!" said Ochaco.
A few girls who walked past them noticed the way they reacted to each other.
"Yeah… I ship it." Said a pink girl with horns.
Nearby a black cat with a yellow moon on its forehead was watching them.
The cat smiled at the two and looked at the pink girl before running away.
Of course the first part of the exam was the written exam.
Following the written exam was the partial exam.
But before then there was orientation.
It was presented by Present Mic.
Though during this Ochaco and Izuku had different seats, Ochaco couldn't help but to giggle at the fact she hurt Izuku squee about how he listened to his show every night.
The way the exam went was that they had to fight a bunch of robots. There were three different types of robots which a point value.
However a very tall boy in glasses asked a question about how the pamphlet said there was a fourth type of robot.
Though Present Mic explained that it was worth zero points so they were just an obstacle they didn't have to go after.
Also called out Izuku during this.
Present Mic gave the school motto.
Which was "Going beyond Plus Ultra!"
They headed to the various fake cities.
Izuku was outside his very nervous.
That morning he had gotten the Quirk One for All.
But he was very nervous and the advice he had gotten about using it was very good.
(Flashback)
"All right… what I do is clench my butt cheeks and the from the bottom of my heart yell out "Smash!"" said All Might.
Setsuna who was there sighed and lightly smacked his head.
"That is terrible advice Toshinori!" scolded Setsuna like a mother would a child.
I'm sorry…" sighed Toshinori as he returned to his smaller form.
Izuku honestly got that vibe from the two of them as if she was his mother.
Still…
She then looked at Izuku.
"I'm sorry I can't think of something right now…" sighed Setsuna, "My powers are so much different than One for All… I'm sorry I can't help you right now."
Izuku sighed like that.
"It's fine." He said.
Hopefully he would figure it out.
(End of Flashback)
That was when he noticed Ochaco trying to steady herself.
He was about to walk over to his friend when that same boy who scolded him earlier stopped him.
At the same time, as Ochaco was taking breathes she noticed Izuku from the corner of her eyes.
Although she was nervous that immediately cheered her up.
"Izu-Kun!" she called out.
She ran over happy to see Izuku.
"Oh hey Uraraka." Said Izuku.
"I told you can call me by my given name." said Ochaco blushing a little.
"I'm sorry it's just that I'm not used to it." Said Izuku blushing a little.
"It's okay" said Ochaco.
The tall boy was look at the two.
He then proceeded to bow.
"I am so sorry I didn't know the two of you were friends." He said.
"It's fine…" said Izuku.
"No I shouldn't have assumed the worst out of you and…" said the boy.
"Go! Go! Go!" yelled Present Mic suddenly.
Everyone was confused.
"There's no countdowns in real battles!" yelled Present Mic.
"Good luck Izu-Kun." Said Ochaco as they ran in.
"You two Ochaco!" said Izuku.
The battle was wild with everyone trying to find and beat the robots.
Ochaco was having an okay time.
Her quirk was good again the robots, but the problem was her quirk's side effects namely if she lifted too much, she would severely nauseous.
But at the moment she kept count and was getting plenty of points.
Meanwhile the various teachers of the school watched, some of them acting as judges for the secret portion of points.
But not all of them, the two homeroom teachers, the newest teacher and surprisingly the vice principal weren't acting as judges.
The newest teacher was Toshinori.
He approached the Vice-Principal.
A woman with long black hair, with some of them put into a sets of buns she also a yellow moon on her forehead.
"So you're not acting as a judge?" asked Toshinori.
"No… and you of all people shouldn't be surprised." Said the vice principal.
Toshinori laughed.
"The remaining three were found… well the ones we're expecting to be this age…" said the vice principial.
Toshinori nodded.
"Are you sure she'll be younger than everyone else?" he asked.
"We're pretty sure…" said the vice principal.
Toshinori nodded.
"You're worried him, aren't you?" asked the vice principal.
"I am." Said Toshinori.
She looked at Izuku once screen who was having a difficult time.
It was clear he hadn't defeated one robot.
"The girls are having an easier time." Admitted the vice-principal.
He looked at Ochaco, and despite her nausea she was having an easier time.
HE wasn't sure which girls were the ones the Vice Principal were worried about.
"I'll show them later." Said the Vice Principal.
Toshinori nodded, after all he did hope to one day see them… he grew up with stories about them after all.
"I believe it's time for the real test." Called out the Principial, who was a an animal of known origin.
A button was pressed and on all of the testing grounds the Zero pointer appeared.
Which was a massive robot that several stories tall.,
On test ground B, which was the one that Izuku and Ochaco was at, the robot emerged from underground destroying many buildings. Ochaco ended up getting caught in the rubble, hurting her leg very badly and at angle she couldn't get the rubble of her.
And the robot was slowly approaching her.
Izuku saw her pinned to the ground due to a combination of the bond they had and the fact that his legs were moving before he could think ran to save her.
He felt One for All and summoned it, he pushed it into his legs, he clenched his butt cheeks, and yelled from the bottom of heart "Smash!"
It wasn't good advice but it was the best he got.
He completely destroyed the massive robot.
However his body couldn't handle the power of the quirk.
He started to fall and he realized that his arms and legs were comply shattered.
He started to fall from a great height.
Izuku closed his eyes and prepared for the worst, however Ochaco had managed to get herself free, climbed on a robot piece to ensure it was floating and slapped Izuku in the face.
"Release!" she called out.
Thanks to her quirk, Izuku was safely on the ground.
Then she vomited.
When she emptied her stomach she got up and walked over to Izuku.
He began to crawl, and it was clear he was delirious from the pain.
"One point…" he said, "I just need one point…"
"Izu-Kun…" whispered Ochaco.
"And that's time!" yelled Present Mic.
Izuku fell to the ground.
Ochaco ran to her friend who was crying on the ground.
Izuku on the other hand shook… he was in pain… however he felt something… an energy… it wasn't All for One but rather it was something else…
Something told him to use it… and he pushed the energy into his arm and legs..
He started to glow with a golden light.
His arms and legs started to heal.
He was surprised once they were completely healed.
"Izu-Kun?" asked Ochaco, "How did you do that?"
"I don't know." Said Izuku.
Now, now you're all heroes in my books." Said a voice.
They all noticed a very old woman.
"No way it's Recovery Girl!" said Izuku.
Ochaco sweat dropped.
Izuku laughed nervously., but then Ochaco flinched in pain.
"Are you injured?" asked Recovery Girl.
Ochaco nodded, "I hurt my ankle." She said.
Recovery Girl kissed her cheek and she felt her leg heal.
But also felt a bit tired.
"Are you okay sonny?" asked Recovery Girl.
"I'm fine… and I don't know how!" said Izuku.
"Your sleeve is gone." Said Ochaco.
Izuku noticed that indeed his sleeve is gone.
"If you're fine I would worry about it." Said Recovery Girl.
It was clear that Izuku was worried… after he completely healed himself.
Of course practically everyone had seen Izuku do that to save Ochaco with many questioning why he did that even though he didn't get any points from it.
However the tall boy realized something.
In the observation room, the Vice Principial was shocked.
"He awakened that power…" she said, "And it's a lot stronger than before…"
"Do you think it has something to do with…" said Toshinori.
"I don't know…" said the Vice Principal.
"On the bright side their rescue points…" said Toshinori.
The Vice Principal nodded.
What students weren't told about were rescue points. Points that were earned by rescuing their fellow participants.
"They both should get in…" said the Vice Principial.
Toshinori nodded.
Not too long later, Izuku was waiting for Ochaco by the gates.
He didn't know why but she told him to wait as she had to do something.
"You okay?" asked Ochaco once she arrived.
"I'm fine…" he said quietly.
"I'm sure it's going to work out." Said Ochaco.
"I guess…" sighed Izuku.
"Come on… I'm sure your mom will make you a nice dinner." Said Ochaco.
Izuku had told his mom about Ochaco and she invited her to dinner that night.
A week later, Izuku was so sure that he failed the exam.
It didn't help that Toshinori wasn't talking to him.
Though part of it was remained by Setsuna talking to him and telling him that Toshinori was busy with other things that week. He wasn't upset but things came up…
He was wallowing in sadness while waiting for the official letter.
His mom came into the apartment with the letter.
He sighed as he opened it.
Inside was disk that immediately fell out of the envelope.
And soon a hologram was projected into the air
"I am here as a projection!" said the hologram which was that of All Might.
"Wait… All Might? I thought this was from UA!" said Izuku.
"This is from UA! Because you are looking at the newest teacher at UA!" said All Might.
"No way!" said Izuku.
"I'm sorry for being busy this week Young Midoriya!" said All Might's hologram, "But…"
That was when he heard someone from off camera.
"What… I have how many more to do…" said All Might, "All right… all right…"
Izuku sweat dropped the hologram his mentor .
"All right about your score. You did very well in the written exam. However about your practical score… unforgeable you didn't get any points" said All Might's Hologram.
Izuku sighed at this.
"However that wasn't all to the exam… watch this…" said All Might.
That was he saw a recording of a video.
It was that of Ochaco going to talk with Present Mic.
"Present Mic… I was wondering if you could give my points to Izuku Midoriya,…" said the recording of Ochaco.
Izuku's eyes widened.
"Please… he's a good friend and he saved me during the exam… really he's the one who deserves the chance to go to UA more than me!" said the recording of Ochaco, "He saved me and he didn't have any more points… please! He's going to be a hero!"
Izuku was blushing bright red at Ochaco.
"I'm sorry little listener, but you can't transfer points." Said the recording of Present Mic, "But don't worry, if he really saved you he'll be just fine."
Ochaco nodded hoping he was telling the truth.
The Hologram cut back to All Might.
"That's why there is a secret point system added to it… after all we can't ignore such act of heroism. That is why we include rescue points! 60 rescue points for Izuku Midoriya and 45 for Ochaco Uraraka!" said the hologram of All Might.
Izuku tried not to cry, but he failed.
"Young Midoriya, welcome to you Hero Academia!" said All Might.
Izuku went other living room and gave his mom the news.
His mother Inko was over joyed.
He also got a text from Ochaco telling him that she got in.
He texted her back.
"I got in too!"
"Really?" asked the reply.
"Thank you trying to give me your points…" Izuku sent her back.
"How did you know about that?" was Ochaco's response.
"Uh… they showed a video of it in my letter."
He didn't get a response but he got the feeling that Ochaco was probably really embarrassed by it.
He had also gotten a message from All Might to meet him and Setsuna on the beach.
He met up with the two.
"Setsuna! Toshinori!" called out Izuku.
The two waved at him.
"Sorry for not talking to you during the week." Said Toshinori, "But I can't look like I'm. giving you too much attention."
"As long as you weren't upset with me." Said All Might.
"you did well…" said Toshinori, "But it looks like you can't handle the power yet…"
"I know…" said Izuku, "And I don't know where the other power came from either…"
Setsuna sighed at that.
"Izuku… I can't tell you everything about it at the moment…" said Setsuna, "But I know where that power came from… it's very rare but there are those with powers that have nothing to do with quirks."
Izuku's eyes widened.
"When it's time I'll tell you everything but you are one of those people… and when you were injured it awakened those powers…" said Setsuna, "Though not completely…"
"Wait there's more!" said Izuku.
Setsuna nodded.
"Wait how did you know?" asked Izuku.
"Because I'm one of them." Said Setsuna, "In fact my powers aren't a quirk… but something else."
"Are you serious!" yelled Izuku shocked.
"When it's time I will tell you everything… but the time isn't right…" sighed Setsuna.
Izuku nodded happy that she at least being partially honest.
"Wait does that mean you're Quirkless too." Said Izuku.
"Technically…" said Setsuna, "But I didn't go through what you went through…"
"What… but you're Quirkless…" said Izuku, "I mean you're not that old…"
"Setsuna is lying about her age." Said Toshinori.
"What?" asked Izuku.
"She's much older than she looks… and she's kind of like my mom…" said Toshinori.
"What!" yelled Izuku.
"Toshinori!" scolded Setsuna.
"It was going to come out sooner or later! I had to tell him that part…" sighed Toshinori.
Setsuna sighed.
Izuku was just shocked at the news.
It did explained why he had a feeling why she felt like a mom scolding her child sometimes.
But still… he and Ochaco passed the exam… and of course he learned about a power he didn't know he had. Although he didn't know all of the details about the powers, he knew that he would know eventually.
It would still be a while until he learned the truth…
And when the time came everything would different.
Next Time: It's the first day of school and the students in the new class but they have to prove it to their new home room teacher. Also Izuku tries to figure out how to use his quirk without hurting himself... will it work? Find out next time!
