*Ana's POV*

We're both back to work and it's bittersweet. Having Christian back in his element is so sexy to see, but I miss him. I've ridden in the elevator with him every day to make sure he is comfortable each morning, making sure that he has everything in reach and to remind Andrea to get ahold of me if he looks exhausted or having problems. He might be the alpha of the company, but the man is going to come home and rest if I find him too exerted.

I ride back down to level 14 and get comfortable in my old desk. It's moved across the office closer to the art and social media teams, but the same desk gives me comfort.

"Hey, Ana..." Jesse's head pops out from his office. "Meeting in five. My office."

I give him a nod and finish getting my computer fired up and my handbag locked away in my drawer. I take a deep drink of my water and grab a notebook and ink pen for the meeting.

I knock on the door frame of his office and he waves me in.

"Just waiting for one more and we'll start."

For some reason, I am extremely nervous. I feel like I'm in the principal's office. "I'm not getting fired again, am I?"

Jesse laughs. "No, definitely not. It's a good meeting."

I smile. "Oh. Great!"

"How are you liking our department, Ana?"

"It's great. I like it more than I thought I would. The creativity in this department is massive. It is really special seeing them put their heart and soul into their work in such a beautiful way. I've always had a soft spot for the arts but I, unfortunately, am not that talented."

"You're talented, Ana. Just in a different way."

"Sorry, I'm late."

His voice pulls my attention from Jesse and I find my sexy fiance strolling in looking like sex on legs. The sleeves of his white button down have been rolled up, showing off this forearms, but he's still wearing his ash gray vest with matching slacks, the gray and black striped tie I picked earlier still sitting perfectly underneath. God, I love alpha businessman Christian.

I watch him shut the door behind him and he has a seat beside me. His eyes are glued to mine and I wonder if he knows what's running through my mind. When he grips my chin with his thumb and index finger, holding it in place so he can kiss me, I know he does. My attraction to him is too evident. Anytime I'm caught off guard by his presence my whole body sings.

"Good morning, Anastasia."

"Good morning." I can't help but smile, knowing we already said good morning in the most delicious way earlier.

His fingers leave my chin and his attention turns to the handsome blonde that is now my manager.

"Jesse." He holds his hand out and Jesse clasps it, but I notice they both still, their grip tightening. Christian's chin raises a fraction of an inch, causing Jesse to raise an eyebrow. After a beat, Jesse lets out an amused snort and pulls his hand out of Christian's.

"It's your company, Grey. I'm not up for a pissing contest now." His smile doesn't leave his face.

Christian surprises me and grins back at him. "Just wanted to verify that my assumptions were correct."

"I trust this won't be a problem?"

I am confused. They're having some secret discussion that they're leaving me out of. Then, it hits me.

"Wait. Are you saying. He is like you? You're like him?" Oh fuck. I shake my head. "I can't deal with another one of you." I rub my temples. Now I understand.

Jesse laughs at my epiphany. "Don't worry, Ana. All of my energy goes into my own stubborn thing at home."

"Good." I say. "I hope she makes you work for it." I wonder if I'd ever get to meet her. She and I might have some things in common.

My sass makes them both laugh. "Every day, Ana, but I'm afraid we've gotten off topic." His eyes meet Christian's.

"Yes, we're here to talk about your position." Christian turns toward me in his seat.

"My position?" They're going to take it from me?

"Yes. We've been talking to GP employees and now that the business is growing they are feeling the pressure."

"Okay..."

"I've talked with the department heads and we've decided to open up a position for a floating executive assistant. One that could float through all of the departments and take the extra stress off the others."

I smile. "And you think I'd be a good fit?"

Christian nods. "I do. We both do." His eyes point to Jesse. "You're too good at what you do to keep you in one department. GP needs you throughout." I watch him use the hand in his sling to mess with his other sleeve and I reach up and smack his hand, rolling his sleeve back up for him. Rolling his sleeves are a nervous habit and I don't know why he's anxious.

I know I have a giant smile on my face about the job, but I can't help it. I love helping out other departments. It keeps things fresh and exciting for me.

"The look on your face tells me you're interested, but I need to hear you say it." I'm dancing in my seat but my poor Christian still needs confirmation. I guess my response the last time he changed something on me has him doubting.

"Yes, I'm interested. Completely!"

He gives me a relieved smile. "Good. Come with me. I want to show you your new office." He stands and offers me his hand, but I frown.

"An office? But I'm an assistant." That isn't fair.

"Yes. But we need you in the center of the house so you're available to everyone and you will be working on multiple projects at once. You need more room."

I take his hand, deciding to trust him.

He escorts me to an office in the center, the front wall a sheet of glass with a glass door. Inside is a large L-shaped desk with another long table across the way to spread out projects. A few filing cabinets line the wall next to the table, while a large cork board and dry erase board cover the wall behind the desk.

"This is amazing!" As I stand in the middle of what will be my new office, I can't stop turning in circles to take it all in.

Chuckling, he finally reaches out and stops me.

"Thank you, Christian!" I lean up and press a kiss to his mouth.

"Don't thank me. It was your managers that did it. However, I did get you a congratulation gift."

My eyebrows knit together. "You did?"

He turns me toward the desk and I see a red bow on the black leather office chair. Grinning, I pull it out and have a seat. I groan. It's the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. The leather is soft, the cushions plush, my head cradled against the back perfectly. Absolutely amazing.

Having a seat on the desk in front of me, he smiles. "I take it you like it?"

"It's perfect. Thank you so much."

"Hit the lever on the right."

Reaching down, I feel the lever and pull. My legs automatically pop up and I lean back a little. "Oh, yes. This is perfect. You spoil me." I close my eyes and let myself enjoy if for a minute.

"You're carrying my baby, Ana. You need comfort and to keep your feet elevated." I blush, knowing he's noticed my recent cankles from my leg and feet swelling. "Don't look embarrassed now. I hate the stress your body has to go through because of something I did. I need you comfortable and healthy."

Opening my eyes, my heart clenches painfully. He has the same haunted look in his eyes that he had when he first told me he couldn't bear me going hungry. I try to sit up, but I'm stuck. He immediately kneels down and hits the lever for me, sitting me upright.

I turn toward my kneeling man and hold his face in my hands. "Teddy is worth it. Every ache and pain, every pound I gain, every ounce of water I retain is worth it for him. I just don't want you to be disgusted by me."

He reaches up and rests his hand over mine on his face, nuzzling into my palm. "I could never. You're incredible. I love watching your body change to accommodate our child. I love watching you walk around with your swollen stomach, and I hate that I do.. but if I'm being completely honest I get such deep satisfaction in knowing that everyone knows its because of me. That it's my baby your carrying. It gives me a half boner just thinking about it."

I give him a smile and it turns into a giggle. "That isn't much of a secret, Christian. You're a caveman, Ace, but I love it." I've seen the way he acts around people when we talk about it...the pride he has when he tells others about the baby...the way his hand is glued to my stomach when we're out in public. He's so possessive and protective over both Teddy and me.

"Tell me why you call me that."

"Ace?"

He nods.

"Because you're everything." I shrug. "Your the Ace of spades, the card no one can beat. Your the top of the pyramid..the top of the food chain. You're the alpha. And, because your it for me. I feel like the cards are stacked and they're all in my favor because of you. You ace everything." I shake my head. "I'm not making much sense, am I?" I giggle.

"I understand, angel."

"You do?"

He nods, having a seat back on the desk. "The power and control I have excites you. Even if that part of me drives you up the wall sometimes because I do it the wrong way. There's a delicate balance to keep the power I'm used to having, but to keep an open dialogue with you so you aren't ambushed by my control. I've never had to do this before. I'm learning."

Standing, I step between his legs and wrap my arms around him. "You're getting better at it. And, I'm sure eventually you'll ace that too."

He wiggles his eyebrows. "Tell me what else I ace."

"Christian!"

"When my mouth finds its way between your thighs?"

I blush. "Stop."

"When I force your knees to touch your shoulders-"

"We're at work!" I try to pull away from him, but his hand is glued to the small of my back, pressing me into him so I can feel his excitement.

"-Making you open so beautifully for me, that I'm able to press everything I have into you, filling you so completely that you whimper when it's gone?"

Oh fuck. "Okay, stop. Yes, you ace everything. You have to stop."

He gives me an amused smirk. "Problem, Ms. Steele?"

I pout. "Yes. I respond too easily to you."

He presses a kiss to my forehead. "Come to me for lunch and I'll show you how easily it responds."

My eyes widen and I find myself wiggling, my thighs pressed together. "At work?"

"I've told you I would have you bent over my desk. I don't lie. I control your pleasure and I'll give it to you whenever you need it. Where doesn't matter." He presses one last kiss to my lips before letting go of me. "12:30. I'll see you then."

He stands and I watch him walk away looking completely unaffected, while I feel like a puddle on the floor. Not fair, Grey.

XxXxXx

Feeling pretty good after getting moved to my office and having a go with Christian on his desk, I use my fifteen minute break to video call Ethan.

"Stasia! What's up? Playing hookie?" His gorgeous dimples show, giving me a grin.

I laugh. "No, just on a break at work. I've missed your face!"

"Have you? I guess I'd miss it, too."

"How's life?" I haven't seen him since he had dinner at our place last Thursday.

"Same as last week, I suppose. Your life is much more interesting."

I give him a sad smile. "I'm sorry I had to tell you over text."

He rolls his eyes. "Don't be. It isn't your fault that service was shit at Dhvani's grandparent's house. The countryside is beautiful but bor-ing." Ethan is the type that needs to be moving constantly. I can't imagine him fairing well out in the middle of nowhere with not even a place to hike.

"So meeting the grandparents... how did that go?"

"Her grandmother loved me. Her grandfather, on the other hand, not so much. He hit me upside the head with a piece of naan."

"He did not!" I laugh.

"And it was fresh! Left a burn on my forehead the whole day!"

I'm laughing so hard I'm in tears. Ethan is so dramatic. "Stop! You're going to make me pee my pants!"

"My face is my moneymaker, Anastasia! I am not a smart man. He almost took my livelyhood!"

"Oh, stop. You're ridiculous." I wipe my tears.

He gives me his boyish grin. "So, when you two getting hitched?"

"Well, I'm twenty weeks along so within the next twenty weeks, I suppose. It's important to Christian that we do it before Teddy comes."

"Am I going to have to wear a dress?"

"What?"

"Don't act like I'm not going to be your bridesmaid."

I laugh. "You can be the man of honor and you'll wear whatever Christian chooses his groomsmen to wear. Kate will be the maid of honor and wear what I pick I suppose."

He scrunches his nose. "I think it'd be more fun to wear a colored tux to match Kate."

"Always got to be center of attention, don't you, Kavanagh? It's my day. You'll wear what I say."

"Bossy. I like it!"
