A collection of Durin family stories, mainly revolving around Thorin, Fili, and Kili, that deal with illness, injury, and overall fluffy family feelings.

Magnolia Bramblevine is a young hobbit-woman. Her mother died several years earlier, leaving her alone with her drunken, abusive father and older brothers. Bilbo Baggins is the only person who shows her kindness, until 13 dwarves come along and decide that she'd be safer on an adventure with them than she would be staying at home.

A year has passed since the Battle of the Five Armies and the Dwarves of Erebor have settled into a new routine. Under Dáin's leadership, the mountain is thriving, as is the city of Dale where Bard now rules. It's a new normality, but one that Dwalin struggles to come to terms with. Everyone has found their place, but there does not seem to be space for him.

I'm on metaphorical crack today. Or Kili-muse is. Not sure. This is about the interestingly popular usage of horrible accidents involving being hit by a vehicle of varying kinds to get a modern day OC into Middle Earth. Each chapter is another version. I did Version 1 the way I did because I was feeling a bit coldly logical at the time. It's meant to be funny, not offensive. ;)

Dwalin collects Fíli's body from the battlefield. It was his duty to protect the Line of Durin, and he has failed.

At 10 years old, her people's home was destroyed by a dragon. For 20 years, they scrounged an existence in the cities of man. 30 years into exile, they went to fight the orks in Moria, with disastrous results. In another 40 years, the dwarves of Erebor found prosperity in Ered Luin, but not solace. It took even longer for this Daughter of Durin to find her own way...and herself.

"I now have a duty that you abandoned me to face. It is time for you to face the ashes of your fires, dragon..." Smaug has been resurrected into the form of a human man, and now, he will stop at nothing to reclaim his lost form, exact his revenge on those that killed him and possess the one woman who stole his heart. The world will burn before him and darkness will feed his rage.

There are several thing's many folk do not know about Hobbit's. They can surprise you and warm your heart. They are brave, selfless and loyal. They will protect who they consider family and when they give you their word it is a strong as Mithril. Some can tell you more than others namely the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. Convinced that they are in need of an experienced guide for the adventure, Gandalf advises Thorin to recruit one Master Gilli Waters for the part. His plan has two very sizeable holes with dire consequence: first, Gilli is not a Man. Second, Gilli is not a man. STORY UNDER REWRITE

What if Balin had been wrong? What if Sting had meant something to a certain Elf of Rivendell?

Thirteen proud dwarves, one skeptical hobbit, an ancient wizard, and a lonely assassin all set out to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug, The Terrible. For most, this journey is about honor and fighting for the better good of their people, for others, there is a much darker force driving their spirit. Kili/OC. AU.
