The year is 268 AG, two hundred and eighty years since the legendary Avatar Aang was born to the Air Nomads. In the time since him the world has known only two others of his reincarnations. Avatar Korra served Republic City with honor and passed away at the age of eighty. Following her was an earthbender named Hao and he was assassinated. (full summary inside- major wip)

Republic City's respectable news establishments struggle against scandalous alternative narratives concerning the tumultuous love lives of the Avatar, his longtime love, and a certain Fire Lord that comes between them. (or, Zuko/Aang/Katara pre-poly shenanigans from the point of view of the tabloids).

Ying liked to imagine what it was like during the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the nations. She longed for that peace. But when the Fire Nation attacked, the whole world changed. Only the Avatar could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished. It's been a hundred years and the Fire Nation's nearing victory. The world needs a hero.
