Okay, first of all, spoilers for Desolation if Smaug (DOS)! What if Kíli died and Tauriel lived? I feel bad for leaving Fíli out but I just couldn't fit him in! GAH I'M SO SORRY PEOPLE! Please don't kill me... Anyway, really dramatic Kiliel fic. Warnings: character death, no mention of Fíli or eternally-hated-by-me uncle Thorin Oakensheild! ENJOY!

It is time for Kili to go on a hunting trip alone, but Fili does not want him to go fearing something will go wrong. Thorin is far too noble, thinking that it'd be safest for Bilbo if they didn't spend as much time together. Thorin's family, and Bilbo's, make sure that he realises how stupid he's being, just in time for Christmas.
