Anakin rubbed his temples, wondering when the meeting would end.
he had had a headache since this morning.
it had started out as a annoying one. one of the one's that don't really hurt.
and then it got worse, and worse, and worse.
"It's... you and your padawan... master... Ansion... 501st... got it?" Mace's voice was fading in and out...
"yes masters." Anakin replied. He and Obi Wan Walked put of the chambers. Anakin was trying nit to fall over. once outside the council chambers, Anakin leaned Against the wall.
"Anakin... alright?"
"yeah. I'm fine."
"...sure?"
"yes, I'm sure."
"Ok... come on, we leave by... late..."
"we leave when?"
Obi Wan looked at him concerned. "late afternoon."
"I won't be. I am going to go pack. see you." Anakin pushed himself off the wall he had been leaning Against, and walked (hoping he wasn't stumbleing) to his quarters.
finally reaching his quarters, Anakin went to pack. finally finished. exhausted ever though it was only 2000, he lay down and was alseep in an instant.
"Anakin! Anakin! wake up!"p
Anakins eyes fluttered open "Hmmph? Obi Wan?"
"Anakin, are you alright? it's 0100, a hour before we leave, and you are still sleeping!"
"Oh, ops... must've slept though my alarm..."
"Anakin, are you sick...?" said Obi Wan, reaching out to touch Anakins forehead.
Pulling away from Obi Wan, Anakin said, "No, I don't get sick. I need to get ready, see you in the hangar!" Anakin said, passively telling Obi Wan to leave.
"alright..." Obi Wan said reluctantly, leaving.
Anakin sighed. he could feel that he had a fever, but he didn't want to worry his master... it was just a cold.
by the time Anakin was on the planet Surface, he was nauseous, had a slight cough, and found it hard to breathe. Rex ran up to him and he swayed from dizziness.
"Sir, are you alright?" Anakin swayed again, "Sir?"
"I'm fine Rex, just give me a moment..." Anakin leaned Against the side of a tree trunk. his head felt like it was splitting in half. he closed his eyes for a second, then opened them. he was peering up at Rex's concerned face, his helmet was off.
"Sir?"
"Fine Rex. and don't you dare say anything to Kix." Rex snickered, "That's an order!"
"Yes Sir!" Rex ran off. Anakin heard the crashing of trees, rumbling...
"Cannons." he muttered. He ran foreward, though the trees until- there, about ten, stood on the plains they had created. he ran forward, dragging his lightsaber though one. there was a high-pitched ringing in his ears, but that didn't matter. he sliced though the end on another, opened the hatch, and destroyed the droid operating the cannon, he then jumped down to destroy the droid on the lower deck... he stumbled upon landing but righted himself fairly quickly. he moved on to the next one. he saw a blur of blue beside him. Obi Wan, he smiled to himself. he cut off the whole face of the next one.
Anakin had finally destroyed the last droid on the field when it happened. one moment, he was cutting down the droid, then next he was looking into the angery face of Jessie, the 212th medic.
"Rex!"He yelled "I ordered you not to tell anyone!"
"with all due respect, sir, you told me not to tell Kix. I did not tell Kix."
Anakin glared at Rex for a moment, then pushed past Jessie. "I'm fine, thank you. you can go tend to Clones who need medical attention."
"Sir-"
"I'm fine. now go. that's an order."
"Yes sir."
The ringing in his ears was higher pitched, and he had a splitting headache. his vision was slightly blurred and he was slightly dizzy. he knew his fever was higher now, the force told his such, and his cough had turned into a quiet Wheeze. nothing he couldn't hide however.
Obi Wan ran up to him. "Jessie tells me Rex told him you are sick."
"And I told Jessie I am fine. now drop it."
"Anakin, your cheeks are flushed, and you look awfuly pale. I know you have a fever. stop trying to hide that fact that you. are. sick!"
Anakin was well aware if the fact, and his conscience told him he should go to the medbay, but his headache made him very irritable. "Just drop it, ok?" He snapped. "I told you that I was fine, and I am."
Obi Wan sighed, running a hand over his face, and left.
Anakin was walking back to the Resolute when there was a cry of suprise, blasterfire, and a great quake. Anakin stumbled, and tured around.
the speratists were back. with renforcements...
Anakin sighed and sat down. he hadn't eaten all day (not that he wanted to; he'd probably just puke it all up) and was exhausted, and tired of the constant Nagging from his men to go the the medics. even worse, was the most recent confrontation with Kix, who had bluntly told him he was going to end up dead at this rate. while he was pretty sure it was an exaggeration, it left him worried and very aware of his worsening condition. but- the men needed him. the medics didn't. he had been fighting night and Day alongside a (very) upset Obi Wan and a (overly) mad captin. both were praticaly begging him to go to the medics, and he had refused, ordering Rex to shut up. he couldn't order Obi Wan around, and his constant nagging almost (almost) made him as tired as the fever did.
"Sir." Said Rex stiffly, walking up. "the speratists rolled in cannons... well, more Cannons, and General Kenobi seems to need help." the message beneath all this was, 'he's not asking for help because your sick.'
"Tell him I'm coming, Rex."
"Yes sir." Rex strode away. Anakin got up from the Plate of food (he hadn't even touched his fork, nausea becoming bad at the mere thought.) And ran up the battlefield, ignoring the dizziness to the best of his abilities.
when he finally got up to the Cannons, Obi Wan was backing away, struggling to stop all the layers with his saber. Anakin went behind the tanks and plugged his saber straight though one of them, joining Obi Wan on the other side.
"Anakin. go back, you need to eat, and sleep... and go to the medics."
"Just- Just stop it- ok?! I'm fine."
"but you aren't! and you're worrying me!"
"ugh! I- Cant- fight- alongside- you!"
The hight pitched ringing was back, and he almost fell, as pain shot up to his head.
"Anakin, are you ok?"
"I fine..." he said, blinking spots out of his vision.
"Anakin?" But Anakin barely heard it as his vision blurred
"M'... fine..." He couldn't focus. he was dimly aware of Obi Wan shouting into the comlink, destroying another cannon, and sometime later, someone who seemed very grumpy, dressed in white and blue, leading him away. somebody seated him down on a ramp for a ship, and was talking...
"Sir. Sir, can you hear me?"
"I'm fine..."
"Sir, you are not fine. you nearly collapsed." obviously this trooper didn't understand.
"I need to help Obi Wan."
"he's fine sir, just taking out the last cannon."
Anakin could feel himself losing cousiousness... "don't take me to a medic... that's an order..." his eyes fluttered closed.
Rex looked up from his unconscious general when he saw kenobi coming.
"Why isn't he here?!"
"who are you talking about, sir?"
"Kix- Jessie- A medic!"
"He ordered me not to get one, sir."
"Well, I'm ordering you to get one as fast as you can!"
"Yes sir."
"I need a medic here now!" Rex shouted into the com. "general is down!"
Kenobi bent down beside his general. "Anakin? Anakin can you hear me?" he shifted a bit, but continued to 'sleep' "Anakin, I need you to wake up for me."
his General's eyes cracked open, and then closed.
"I'm fine Obi Wan... just... give me a moment..." he said, taking deep breaths "or two." he added as an afterthought thought.
"No, Anakin. you are not fine."
"I am... just tired..."
"because you are sick. plus, I doubt Kix will be happy if we let his newest patient go back into the battle so soon."
"You called Kix."
"Yes, Anakin. you nearly passed out on me, when surrounded by Cannons. then I had Rex take you back, then you did pass out."
"I'm fine. I can take 'em"
"the only thing you will be 'takeing' is fever reducers." Kenobi, frowning as he touched his former padawan's forehead.
"Master, really. I'm not sick. I'm the chosen one. I can't get 'sick'."
"Well, you are obiously sick if you can't even remeber I'm no longer you master."
"Obi Wan!" Anakin whined.
"Anakin. stop acting like a youngling!"
"but-"
"no buts." Anakins eyes slipped closed and he fell asleep.
"I gotta say, General. I'm not impressed by how long you resisted treatment." Rex said, eyebrow raised.
"thanks Rex, mean a lot to me."
"Anakin, seriously, the council isn't very happy at you."
"Ok! I mean, they never liked me anyways."
Obi Wan pinched his nose. "what am I going to do with you?"
"fight with me! duh!"
Obi Wan sighed. "At least you're ok now... though personally, i liked it better when you were too sick to really do anything but sleep."
"Hey!" anakin yelled, as Rex chuckled.
