When the police arrived, Chun-Li found Nezu pacing in one of the hastily erected medial tents, drinking a cup of tea with a lit cigarette between his fingers and muttering something about leaked information. Whatever it was, she was sure the principle would tell them later to further along their investigation. UA generally didn't rely on police, being a hero school, as it were, and only really called them for matters of security, and this seemed to fit.
Chun-Li cleared her throat to get the mammal's attention. "We've got the injury report ready, sir." She said cordially but internally, she seethed. They didn't take statements yet, but she could imagine some of the students horror stories, especially coming from her former student who seemed borderline despondent besides a few watery, one-worded answers, and it made Chun-Li's blood boil. She would have to call Ryu and Ken later to inform them about this, and Lord knows she didn't want to. No one should have to hear about Bison's exploits towards someone you held so dear.
Nezu nods and takes a long drag of his cigarette before draining his tea. "Thank you, ma'am. How bad is it?"
She takes a deep breath. "Four injured students. Usagiyama and Yaoyorozu have minor injuries about the body, and the worse of it seems to be a broken nose and black eye on Usagiyama. Midoriya and Harushi had significant physical trauma all around the body and suffered from some of the worse physical exhaustion I've ever seen."
Nezu keeps a neutral expression, though she can tell by the way his nose moves and his lip curls up ever so slightly in a growl that he is annoyed. She doesn't blame him. "And what of the staff?" He has already seen both Midoriya and Harushi before they were taken by ambulance, so he wants the finer details here.
"Thirteen has some lacerations on her back, but due to Uraraka's quick thinking and quirk usage, those were only skin deep in most areas. Some muscle groups were torn, but she will otherwise make a full recovery, as per Recovery Girl's words. Eraserhead suffered physical trauma and exhaustion as well, with most of the damage being done to his right arm and face. According to what I've been able to overhear, Midoriya is the reason his injuries aren't worse and on sight medical aid provided by Thirteen and the students helped to stabilize him. He is projected to make a full recovery as well."
Nezu makes a sound. Chun-Li, having only met the UA principle a few times in passing, had no idea what it meant. She does know however, that worse news is coming.
Hagakure noticed the downer atmosphere and tried to cheer people up. She approached Toga, one of her more bubbly classmates and placed a gloved hand on her shoulder. "You went to the flood zone? Oh geez, that must've sucked being in a catsuit and under water."
"I know right!?" Toga leapt on the opportunity. "My poor undies..."
A few boys blushed at this, and Tsuyu shook her head slowly. "Once again, poor choice of words, Toga-chan."
"You're still no fun, Tsu."
"Anyway, kero. Where were you, Hagakure?" Tsuyu asked while facing the floating gloves.
"Oh! I was at the landslide area with Todoroki!" She pointed to the dual-haired teen. "He's wicked strong!"
Todoroki went slightly stiff. 'I could've frozen her. Yikes. I didn't even know she was there.'
Aoyama weirdly beamed and sparkled then. "Seeing as everyone is asking, as for my location..." He very flamboyantly gestured to himself. "Anyone have any idea?" He was largely ignored.
Tokoyami, Kirishima, Sero and Kaminari were off to the side in their own conversation. "Right, guess those low-lives were spread out, waiting for us." Tokoyami said with a shake of his head.
Kirishima agreed. "Yeah, must've been looking down on us for being kids."
Aoyama, not one to take being ignored laying down, tried again, this time walking up to Tsuyu and tapping her lightly on the shoulder. "Where do you think I was!?" He asked with a bit more force.
Tsuyu looked him up and down and noticed he seemed fine, unharmed and weirdly untouched. He did smell slightly singed though, like he'd been around a really strong campfire. "Where?"
"It's a secret!"
Tsuyu immediately turned her attention towards the nearest adult, a man in a brown trench coat and hat. "Detective." She croaks, getting Tsukauchi's attention.
He speaks before she can. "We're gonna get you kids back to the classroom for now, this is no time to take your statements."
"What about Aizawa-sensei...?" The concern is clear on her face and tone, and Tsukauchi takes a neutral expression. He then speaks in a tone he uses when trying to be hopeful, without making it seem like a miracle has happened.
He is decidedly blunt. "Both of his arms were smashed to splinters. His face has some light fractures. Thankfully, no brain damage that we know of. His eye sockets got the worse of it. One was pulverized and the other just has some cracks in it. It's possible that he may suffer from long-term loss of vision." The Detective explains professionally. It's not as bad as it seems, and he hopes to convey that through his tone. "Thirteen and All Might aren't in any life threatening danger. It's possible that Recovery Girl's healing will be enough for both of them."
That sent a small wave of relief through the students.
"And Deku-kun?" Uraraka asked, face contorted in concern.
"Yes, what of Midoriya!?" Iida immediately followed up.
"And Harushi-chan." Tsuyu adds.
Before the class can descend into more questions about their classmates, Chun-Li makes her presence known. She is rubbing small circles in Momo's back in an attempt to calm the girl down then clears her throat loud enough to get everyone's attention. Rumi is near them, staring off into the distance with a scowl and her arms crossed, but her ears do twitch when hearing a certain name. "Both of them made it to Recovery Girl's office in time. We're actually about to head their ourselves, weren't we, Tsukauchi?" Chun-Li's tone leaves no room for argument because she isn't in a mood to argue. Tsukauchi gets the message and tilts the brim of his hat.
"Yes, ma'am we are. Sansa." Tsukauchi beckons to a police officer with a cat's head. "We'll leave the rest to you."
Sansa raises a salute. "Understood."
Before the detectives leave, Chun-Li speaks once more. "Don't worry students. Your friends are pretty tough. I know both of their trainers well and I've seen some of their resilience first hand. A few days of R&R would do them both some good anyway." There's a joke there, and it lands. There are some chuckles, and even Momo silently snorts.
As they head towards their car, they side-eye Nezu and his staff. They're talking in hushed tones about security and teleportation quirks, but it is not on Chun-Li's radar at the moment.
"Detective Chun-Li! Detective Tsukauchi!" Another officer calls out to them. "I have a report. We've apprehended what seems to be a villain in a thicket about 100 meters away from here."
Tsukauchi turns slightly. "In what condition?"
"Bad. He seems to be covered in burns and bruises. He tried to resist arrest but his injuries made it difficult for him to do so. He's also very verbal about his disdain for the police and is threatening to kill someone who he calls "rabbit"? And someone else named Harushi."
Chun-Li's mouth falls into a thin line, but Tsukauchi nods. "Principle, we'd like to go over the school with a fine-tooth comb, if you don't mind."
"Of course." Nezu agrees easily. He seems to have returned to his cheery self, as his mouth his fixed into a smile. Chun-Li doesn't buy it, since she can still sense the hostility in his ki. "Some might not be happy, but the police certainly have jurisdiction. Investigations are your field of expertise." He then clenches his small fist. "Do what you feel is necessary." That has a double meaning, Chun-Li can hear it, but she and Tsukauchi share a look and wordlessly nod.
When they arrive to Recovery's Girl's office, the place is bright, white and sterile. It makes Chun-Li feel uncomfortable, the deafening silence, so she searches out ki signatures to keep her attention. Midoriya is sharing a room with someone, while Harushi is further away, possibly in the ER, alone. Her heart aches for him, but she maintains her professionalism. She will feel sorry for him later, after the day is over and she is home on the phone with Ryu.
"Pardon us," Tsukauchi enters the room with a light knock. Chun-Li sees that Midoriya is on the furthest of the two cots with his arm wrapped up thick along with several white bandages peaking out from under what remains of his hero costume. He is resting, as his eyes are shut and his chest slowly raises. That was good. "Long time no see, All Might!" Tsukauchi greets.
All Might's eyes widen and he spits up blood when he sits up. "Tsukauchi? What are you talking about? I'm not - "
Chun-Li raises a hand to silence him before he can make a fool of himself. "I already know." She says flatly. Recovery Girl and All Might look gob smacked, and a bit more on Toshinori's side, betrayed. "Before you ask, it wasn't him who told me. I was also there at the mall, and I have friends who you've met."
She explained and All Might understood immediately. Must've been the Shotokans. He opens his mouth to confirm his suspicious, but Chun-Li stares at him.
"Let's just get down to business, shall we?" Her tone is professional and smooth, but All Might has been around long enough to know when someone was cross with him. He supposed he couldn't really blame her; after all, it was his absence that forced the students into action today. It nearly costed them dearly.
"Not to rush you, but I'd like to ask you about these villains, All Might..." He reaches into his coat and pulls out a pen and pad.
"Wait," Toshinori raises his hands. "Hold on first, are the students alright?" He looks justifiably panicked. His memory of his students weren't exactly pleasant, and the old hero needed something to calm his mind. "And Aizawa... Eraserhead and Thirteen?"
Chun-Li and Tsukauchi share a look again, then Chun-Li takes over. "Besides Midoriya and Harushi, the students have gotten nothing more than a few bumps and bruises." She explains, though her eyes start to wander. 'And a few mental scars that'll likely never heal.' She doesn't say, "The two teachers are out of danger for now."
"If you three heroes hadn't put your lives on the line," Naomasa picks up unprompted. "Things would've been much worse."
"I see..." Toshinori says with a sigh. "You've got one thing wrong though. That was a fight where the students put their lives on the line too." At his proclamation, Izuku's eyelid twitches, but no one notices. "To be thrown into such a battle so young, and survive. Now these first years know how big and scary the world can truly be." All Might lays back down with a 'plop' and sinks into his pillows, the amount of which makes him seem smaller. "Have you ever heard of such a class?" He sounds proud and sleepy. "Those villains picked the wrong fight!" He says louder, more passionate. Not with the voice of Toshinori, but the voice laced with the authority of the Symbol of Peace. "The members of 1-A are going to be mighty heroes indeed."
It wasn't until a full day later that Izuku came to. He awoke slowly and with a groan. He opened his eyes only to snap them shut a moment later, the bright, white overhead light burning his eyes. When he opened his eyes a second time, slower now, he took in his surroundings.
"Oh, good." An aged voice called out to his side, and when he turned, it was Recovery Girl with two nurses. "You've finally gotten up."
Izuku slowly props himself up on his pillows, mentally taking note of all the wrappings on his person. "H - how is everyone?" He asks, but his voice is low and hoarse. Recovery Girl gestures for a nurse to give Izuku a glass of water, which is downs quickly.
"You're too much like that big oaf, I swear." He hears the pro-heroine mutter under her breath. A light blush graces his cheeks. "You've been out for the better part of twenty-four hours and the first thing you ask is how others are doing." He assumes he's meant to take it as an insult, but it's hard to when she sounds so jovial. "Everyone is fine. All Might got discharged yesterday, and most of your classmates only needed a small dosage of my quirk and a good nap and they were right as rain."
Izuku is relieved to hear that, but his body doesn't relax. There is still one person he wants to know about. "...and how's Ryo - Harushi?"
Recovery Girl regards him closely. "He's been in emergency surgery and came out of the ICU this morning. He will make a full recovery in time." She says cryptically.
Izuku, seeing that it was likely the most information he was going to get, nods numbly. Recovery Girl is speaking to him, but he isn't listening. His mind is elsewhere and his ki sense is wide open. He holds a recollection of the USJ as clear as day, including the Power of Nothingness. It still feels present in him, like on a white, sandy beach and all he'd have to do is relax, calm his nerves, and touch the water. He almost does but Recovery Girl hits her cane on the ground with a surprising amount of strength, drawing his attention.
"I'm sorry, can you repeat that?"
Recovery Girl gives him a hard stare, but it's quickly replaced by a sympathetic look. "I said you're free to go. Your mother and friends have been waiting for you since the sun rose."
Izuku's eyes went a bit wide at that, but he doesn't respond verbally, settling to just nod like a mad-man before darting out of bed. His body felt fine, if a bit sluggish and groggy, as though he just woke up from a long nap. Recovery Girl removes his bandages before he goes. When he exits, he looks left towards the inner hospital, then right towards a small gathering of ki signatures, all of which he recognizes. He can't help but to smile, but it only lasts a few fleeting moments. His head turns to the left again. He can sense his best friend, his brother in arms. His ki is low, simmering, completely unlike how it normally is. It makes Izuku sad, but he knows it can't be helped. They would definitely have to talk when he got up about their respective Hados and what happened when he touched his shoulder.
But that was for later. Now, he must face the music. Slipping the waiting room door open, Izuku laughs awkwardly when all of the idle conversation stops immediately and all eyes turn to him. "Hey, guys. How's it, uh going?" There is a beat of silence that seems to stretch for eternity. And then...
"IZUKU!" It's his mother who reacts first, lunging into his arms, bawling openly. He catches her easily, though is a bit surprised that such a tiny woman can generate that much force in a tackle with so little wind-up. He looks down at her crying into his chest and holding him tighter than a bear. It hurts seeing his mother like this, so he pats her head lovingly to help her calm down.
The next person who approaches is Setsuna. She is in casual clothes, everyone in the waiting room is, and that makes Izuku raise a brow. She isn't as emotional as his mother, no woman on Earth is, but her smile is shaky and he can see how happy she is. She too lunges at him when his mother gives him some breathing room. Everyone else has more reserved reactions; Itsuka just walks up to him and looks him up and down with analytical eyes, before smiling herself and playful tapping him on the shoulder.
"Glad you're okay," She says.
Yui, in typical Yui fashion, doesn't speak much at all. Her eyes are fairly expressive though, and she does nod after a not so subtle appraisal of his form. Of the three remaining people, he gets different reactions.
The first is Usagiyama, who only looks at him once and nods. She doesn't even seem to be there for him, and he supposes he can understand that. Recovery Girl must've not told her that Ryoya's not expected to wake up for a while longer. The second is Yaoyorozu. She does look happy to see him, but she looks bad. Her hair is a mess, her nose is red and she has bags under her eyes like she hadn't slept. She settles for a light smile upon his entry and a few words, but then clams up. He inwardly sighs. He wants to help, desperately, but there is nothing he can do right now.
And lastly, there is Ochako. She, like Setsuna, lunges at him as soon as the opportunity presents itself. He catches her easily just like he'd done the two green-haired people before, only her grip isn't as tight as his mother's, nor is she trying to cling to him like a koala. Her embrace is warm and strong, like she's trying to anchor them both to the floor. She says something that he doesn't pick up, it being muffled as her head is directly in his chest, but he nods in confirmation anyway. He repeats what he did with his mother, and pats Ochako on the crown of her head. She relaxes against him ever so slightly, and before anything else happens, a voice erupts the door.
It's Recovery Girl and she taps her cane on the floor twice. "I don't mean to interrupt the little lover's reunion," She says evenly, but there's a teasing gilt in her eye. A shiver runs down Izuku's spine but he has to admit, she wins this round. "But you really should go home. School's closed today, may as well spend it home if you can."
Ochako takes a second to process her first comment and pushes herself away from Izuku as though he's made of fire and she's been burned. She uses her hands to cover her blush and ends up floating to the ceiling. The atmosphere in the room lightens up and people chuckle.
Izuku, for the first time in a while, feels at ease.
Classes were canceled today, Izuku learns as he arrives home and plops down on his bed. He checks his phone and after scrolling through a mountain of messages from his friend's group chat and responding to his father's calls, he just wants to take a nap and forget about the world for a while. But he can't since his phone is still going off. He unlocks it and reads the first message, and immediately regrets doing so.
Super Street Fightin' Friends
Anti-Gravity: No, no we aren't dating!
Dino-City: I don't believe you! You were holding him onto him pretty close there
Anti-Gravity: So were you!
Dino-City: Yes but I've had the hots for him for a while and he knows that. What's your excuse?
Anti-Gravity: fnioenfosds
Falcon-PUNCH: I really envy your confidence sometimes, Set
Dino-City: Hey! I'm just kidding!
Dino-City: mostly
Dino-City: Anyway! Enough about me! Tell us more about yourself, Uraraka!
ME: Ummm, what?
Shhh...: What?
ME: How did Uraraka-san get in here?
Dino-City sends A sticker of a Chibi T-Rex with it's arm raised
Dino-City: Me! We were talking in the waiting room and she said you two are good friends, so I figured it would be a good idea to add her here! Why have you never introduced us before Mido!?
ME: Well, you see...
ME: It slipped my mind?
Shh...: I call bullshit on that, Midoriya
Falcon-PUNCH: While I'm all for teasing Midoriya, there's still someone missing here.
Falcon-PUNCH: How's Harushi doing? I tried to ask Yaomomo but she didn't answer.
Izuku sighs with his phone in his hand. He worries about Yaoyorozu and has kept her in the back of his mind since he last saw her. In case she sees this later, he decides to put on a brave face.
ME: Recovery Girl says he'll make a complete recovery. Trust me, Ryoya may not look like it, but he's really tough. Just give him a few more hours and I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time.
Anti-Gravity: I'm sorry what? Doesn't look tough? He looks like the images that pop up when you type " being in shape"
ME: ...you know what I mean. Trust me, it'll all be fine.
Falcon-PUNCH: I hope so...
Ryoya wakes up six hours later. He feels pretty bad honestly, like he'd been hit by a train, but the pain is mitigated a bit by knowing he actually punched that bastard in the face and saved his friends. He recognizes this place he is in, and opens his mouth to speak, but his throat is too dry and it comes out more like a pained gasp. So he reaches over to ping the emergency bell. A nurse is there before he even realizes, and Recovery Girl comes in seconds later. She nods and the nurse gently pours a glass of water down Ryoya's throat.
"How're you feeling?" The aged pro asks, giving him a curious gaze.
Ryoya sits up slowly and moves his body; first rolling his shoulders and then stretching, letting out a sigh at the loud pops that follow. "A bit sore," He speaks honestly. "But I'll be fine." He tries to get up but a cane pokes him in the chest. He meets a stern stare.
"Not that I'm not happy that you're well, but you really shouldn't be right now." She looks serious and somewhat grave, but he believes her when she says she's happy. "That damage you sustained was worse than I've seen most pros take and even then, they're usually shelved for months. You're awake and ready to go and it's been thirty hours."
"Is that bad?"
"Not really." Recovery Girl answers, expression softening. "It's just... never mind." It's hard to explain how a quirkless boy could heal so quickly. She doesn't get it, and despite all the scans she ran, there really wasn't any signs of a quirk or outside force. His body just seemed to heal itself on willpower alone.
"Am I free to go?"
"Not quite!" Nezu's cheery voice suddenly breaks into the room. He is riding the shoulder of Present Mic with a cup of tea in hand, and Midnight comes in behind and closes the door. "We'd like to have a chat with you, Harushi! If it's not too much of a bother."
Ryoya fights to maintain his mask of neutrality, but it's a losing effort. His eyes narrow and his mind races. "No," He says coolly. "It's not an issue." It isn't, but the pit forming in his stomach is. He has an idea of what this conversation is going to be about, but he had hoped it would be put off a bit later.
"Excellent!" The principle chirps while rubbing his hands together. "Now, I'm normally one who is rather verbose, I'll admit. But now, I'd prefer if we just get this out of the way to allow you the rest I'm sure you are so desperately craving. Now then, what is your relationship to the Oni, Akuma?"
Ouch, right for the jugular huh? Nezu certainly isn't playing any games.
Ryoya is quiet for a while. "Technically... nothing."
"Oh? Care to elaborate?"
"It's just," He sighs and runs his hand through his hair. "He's my grandfather. Or well, was my grandfather. The man who he was before he became who he is now is long gone." Ryoya says flatly, as though stating a simple fact.
"We'll be sure to finish that particular discussion at a later date, Harushi." Nezu is still cheery, but it's toned down; more relaxed and curious. "Do you remember what you did at the USJ? More specifically, what you did in the Conflagration Zone?"
Ryoya takes on a far away expression as he gazes off into the distance. It's hard to forget really, hearing the people scream and his geyser erupts. "Yes."
"And what did you do?"
"Fought to protect Rumi." He counters defensively and with a glare. "And I'd do it again too." Nezu raises his paws and waves him off.
"Harushi, you're not in trouble here." He tries to sooth. "What you did for your classmates is nothing short of heroic and admirable if their statements are to be believed. You were forced into a very difficult situation far too young and did the best you could to get out of it. You did nothing wrong, and we here at UA are fully on your side here..."
"I'm sensing a but." Ryoya does calm down, though his face falls into a frown.
Nezu sighs and takes a sip of his tea. "But, still out of the thirty villain found at the Conflagration Zone, four of them have succumbed to their injuries and an additional three have been unresponsive. The doctors predict that at least two will be gone by sunrise and the other two have a slim chance of recovery." Once he says this, there is a palpable shift in the tone of the room. Midnight and Present Mic must've have known, because they only look grave and pitiful. Nezu's expression is incredibly difficult to read due to his unique biology, so Ryoya doesn't even try. He is instead lost in his own mind. He feels sick, but swallows it down.
"I see." Is all he manages.
"I'd like to reiterate, we here at UA don't believe you did anything wrong in protecting your classmates. Excessive force however, is a different story. A question I'd like to ask though," Nezu clears his throat and takes another swig of tea. "Do you believe what you did was wrong?"
Ryoya hesitates to answer and the adults can see the gears turning in his mind.
"I believe," He says slowly, carefully. "that is it not entirely evil to do evil onto evil people." That answer shocks everyone, though some hide it better than others. "Do I regret it? No. I would do it again if my friend's lives are at stake. Do I wish it didn't have to come to that? Of course. I didn't want to do that." 'I don't want to be like him' Goes unsaid, "But I - "
"That's quite enough, Harushi." Nezu cuts him off. For the briefest of moments, all of Ryoya's insecurities boil to the surface and he feels like a complete and utter failure, but then Nezu smiles. "I wish there were another way we could handle this, but we're in a bit of a bind here."
Ryoya's body relaxes and he takes a deep breath, preparing for the worse. Expulsion? Being arrested?
"I apologize, truthfully." Nezu even tilts his head a bit in a show of sincerity. "But, we were called by the Board of Directors in accordance with the HPSC. They have heard of the events of the USJ, and even received video evidence of your actions from an unknown source and have fought to have you expelled from the school entirely." Ryoya maintains a straight, resigned look. "But after a few hours, we've reached a compromise. You are to be removed from the Hero Course, effective immediately." Nezu rips it off like a band-aid. "You are have mandatory counseling sessions with Hound Dog, totaling no less than six hours total per week for the remainder of your duration here at UA. You'll be placed into one of the General Education courses and a student will take your spot. You will not be allowed to re-enter the hero course nor participate in it's classes unless expressly permitted by myself, Hound Dog, or any of the hero course teachers for the remainder of the year. Is everything clear?"
Ryoya looks down sadly, but he'll be damned if he allows himself to cry here. "Crystal."
Nezu nods and he and Mic wordlessly leave the room. Midnight is still there though, and she walks up to him and places a gentle hand on his shoulder. Ryoya doesn't stop her, but he doesn't turn to face her either.
"Ya know, for what it's worth, kid." She starts and her voice is nothing like her appearance. It is soft, sweet and gentle. "We at UA fought tooth and nail for you. Your classmates, waited out there for a long time for you to wake up and even then, they wouldn't stop talking about how cool and brave you were out there. So chin up." She lightly taps his chin with her knuckles. "You've done a pretty fine job and if I'm being honest, your classmates spoke about you like you were a real man." Her suddenly moaning in his ear made his whole body snap straight and he jerked with such force that he fell out of the cot. Midnight laughed from the pits of her belly.
"... I blame myself for falling into that." Ryoya says dryly, making no attempt to get off the floor.
"You're going to be so fun, Harushi!" Midnight, mission now successful, gets up to leave. "See you in class tomorrow, cutie!"
He lets out a very pained sigh, and lightly glares at a chuckling Recovery Girl on her way out. He catches a glimpse of himself in a mirror. His hair is now different; still being predominantly jet black, but it is now a bit more messy than it was before with scarlet hair growing slightly from his crown and matching scarlet highlights. He can tell his teeth have gotten a bit sharper as well. His eyes though, give the biggest change, going from their bright gold, to a deeper honey gold color.
Oddly enough, he doesn't hate it.
When classes resume the next day, Izuku is confused to have no received a message from Ryoya. He is aware that he woke up and was discharged, All Might told him that directly, but it was odd that he hadn't tried to contact him or anyone for that matter. He already made plans to storm his house and beat the answers out of him if need be, but he would rather it not come to blows. He really just wanted to confirm his friend was okay.
The class is full now, and there's a minute before the bell and still, no Ryoya. People took notice and looked to him for answers, but he had none to give.
"Everyone!" Iida announces. "Morning homeroom's about to begin! Take your seats!"
"But you're the only one standing." Sero points out. Iida has the grace to look flustered.
There are murmurs among them about who could be the potential substitute when Aizawa wobbles in, covered in bandages from head to arms. "Morning." He says, though it's muffled.
The class erupts.
"Aizawa-sensei! You're back already!?" There are some people who express concern for his health while others are in disbelief he's even moving, let alone in class.
Iida's hand shoots up like a rocket. "Glad to see you're doing well, Sensei!"
Ochako looks less enthused. "I'm not sure you can call that doing well. But I'm glad you're okay, Sensei!"
Aizawa would be touched by this, but he's on so much painkillers right now, it's hard to even think straight. "My welfare isn't important." He says coldly. "Let's not waste any time, we have some announcements to make. As I'm sure you've noticed, Ryoya Harushi is not with us today. That is because he's been expelled from the Hero Course."
That sentence hit the room like a bullet hitting glass.
"WHAT!?" Unsurprisingly, it is Usagiyama who is the most verbal in her outrage. "What do you mean he's been expelled!?"
The chaos is abrupt and bordering out of control. People are stunned, people are outraged. Aizawa is mostly helpless to stop them, due to his quirk being partially unavailable at the moment so he waits, and more importantly, listens.
"Dude really?"
"That is very surprising, kero. I wonder what happened."
"Harushi-kun..." Momo slumps over at her desk.
Aizawa knows exactly what happened and he doesn't agree with it at all. Yes, Harushi might've gone overboard in his attack and took a few lives, but he maintains that he did it for a good reason. Hell, if he didn't attack that weird nomu creature with the intent to kill, Eraser struggles to think of a situation where there aren't a few casualties on their side, especially in Bison's presence.
"Are - are you serious, Sensei?" It is Uraraka who asks, but she isn't looking at him, instead looking a Midoriya and gauging his reaction. He seems lost.
"Settle down." Aizawa is unable to raise his voice particularly loud but students still listen and ease into silence. "For reasons I cannot get into, Ryoya Harushi has been expelled from the Hero Course. He is still at UA in General Education, but will not longer be in our class. Feel free to ask him about it yourself, but do not harass him." He is surprised to see students such as Bakugo and Todoroki also seem outwardly upset at this decision.
How could they defeat him and prove their superiority now?
"A new student has already been decided." The teacher continues on, recalling that meeting.
"Your options are Hitoshi Shinso and Minoru Mineta." Nezu informs him. "One of which has been making slow, but steady progress in reeling in his more lecherous tendencies."
Aizawa is still laying on his hospital bed, propped up by a mountain of pillows.
"And the other seems to be a bit anti-social, resentful and rude, if some student testimonies are to be believed. He scored pretty low on his classes physical tests, but he does have a strong quirk."
Aizawa looks at him, and Nezu takes that as a question.
"Brainwashing. He can control the minds of people who respond to him verbally."
Eraserhead groans. "So, we have a pervert who's now slightly less of a pervert against a student who's probably been called a villain for most of his life, doesn't know what physical fitness is, and probably hates people with strong quirks." His words are only marginally less pained than his body feels. "Is he at least smart?"
"Currently ranked within the top five of his studies."
"Adding either of them seems irrational. Laziness has no place in heroics, so if he just coasted his whole life on his quirk, he's going to be a liability in my class."
Nezu hums but doesn't outright disagree.
"It's a tough call, but give me Shinso. I'd rather deal with him than to make my female students uncomfortable."
"I'd rather that as well, Aizawa."
The new student takes that as his cue to enter. He is tall, roughly as tall as Izuku is, with messy indigo hair that flares out in large tuffs around his head. He has purple eyes and weirdly enough, white pupils and no eyelashes. He has very dark bags under his eyes, and it looks like he hasn't slept since the day he was born.
"My name is Hitoshi Shinso. I'm not here to make friends." He says with a glare to the whole class. Aizawa can already feel this going terribly.
"Take your seat." He commands, and Shinso wordlessly obliges, not making eye contact with anyone on the way there.
Rumi is very openly glaring at him. She doesn't know why, but she can already tell that she hates this guy.
"Now, one more thing. The fight isn't over yet." That gets the class on edge. "UA's Sports Festival is coming up."
A/N: Yeah, bet you didn't see that coming. Ryoya has been removed from the hero course and as such, will just generally be receiving less screen time. If you're still interested in his character, story and his whole triangle with Rumi and Momo, let me know.
He's still important of course, just going to be taking a further backseat to Izuku and 1-A. I'd like to know your thoughts on it.

James Birdsong: Thank you.
Ryuujin96: Thank you for that. I believe that Tomura would do something like that, especially towards someone like Bison who can and will taunt you. Ryo's slowly but surely gaining more control over the Satsui, but it's still very, very far from useable to him. I too am looking forward to them using their powers fully. And hoho! Trust me, I already have Izuku's main antagonists planned, and you'll be quite surprised about that.
NinjaFang1331: Thank you!
Marbled Gold: Bison showing everyone that he's ALWAYS the biggest threat. He's so much fun to write because for as evil as he is, he's a meme. He will pop up, taunt you, and beat your ass. Only to taunt you again. Ah yes, the build up to Ryo and his connection to Akuma. I really can't wait to get to that. Possibly Izuku vs Ryo in the future? Who knows! Thanks for the continued support.
Acosta Perez Jose Ramiro: Thank you. And yeah, that's what I was going for. A fresh All Might would beat Bison in a medium difficulty fight, but here, he was already very low on time. He was going to lose if Bison attacked him again. Bison doesn't know this of course. Thank you for enjoying the fights, I really liked writing them.
Solbandgus: I wouldn't call it a full loss for the League either, but hey, they didn't win at all lol. Bison killing the Nomu and AFO just accepting that is a pretty good indication of that particular business partnership. Also, if Izuku is going to end up in what? I'm not sure.
