Chapter 105

As they stood on the tower, watching the Dark Mark, Rebekah turned to her Familiar. He curled around her ankles before disappearing into the shadows of the world.

There was already chaos coming from Hogwarts.

"Take me to the astronomy tower," Dumbledore ordered Regulus.

"Go," Rebekah said, untucking her Time-Turner. "I'm going back half an hour and warning my lot. If Death Eaters are here, the students aren't safe."

Regulus nodded, taking Dumbledore and went to find brooms.

She twisted, turning back in time as she began to run towards the school grounds. She raised her intricate watch, lifting it to her lips before giving orders, "I want everyone above Fourth year in the Room of Requirement in ten minutes. I don't care what excuse you have to make, be there. It's an emergency."

The doors of the room slammed open as a number of students came into the room, led by Draco and Blaise.

"Voldemort gave me orders," Draco said as soon as he saw her. "I have to open the cabinet in five minutes or he will torture my mum."

He gripped her arm as she hugged him.

"I understand," She said. "I Time-Turned back half an hour, I already know. You're coming with me to the astronomy tower."

"And us?" Logan asked.

She turned to them, "The other students are our main priority. I want every single one of them in the dorms. I don't care if you have to freeze them and drag them in. No one is to leave their dorms. If needed, the Upper Court will be patrolling but keeping out of the way. The teachers will be on high alert. Theo, Pansy, you can't be seen helping me. Stay in the common room."

"And the Lower Court?"

"Keep everyone safe."

They nodded.

Rebekah filled a cup, letting the liquid touch everyone's lips before she let the last drop touch hers.

"What was that?"

"Liquid luck. We'll need it."

When the others began to leave, Rebekah pulled Draco to follow her.

"Expelliarmus!"

Dumbledore's wand flew out of his hand and into hers. He was not surprised at that, having already stunned Regulus and placed a Notice-Me-Not charm on him.

Draco passed the rightfully hers wand over to Rebekah It was warm in her hand as she hid it under her cloak too.

"Who else is here?" Draco demanded, wand raised.

"A question I might ask you. Or are you acting alone?" Dumbledore asked. "I should assume that Death Eaters are not too far away."

"Right under your nose and you never realized,"

Thundering footsteps came from the stairs and four people in black robes came into the astronomy tower.

"Good evening, Bellatrix," said Dumbledore calmly, as though welcoming the man to a tea party. "I think introductions are in order, don't you?"

"Love to, Albus, but I'm afraid we're all on a bit of a tight schedule," Bellatrix said.

Rebekah knew Fenrir Greyback from stories that Remus would tell her. Apparently, all the stories were close to true with the way he carried himself. He wore black robes which were uncomfortably tight and even a bit of blood dripping from his lip.

"Is that you, Fenrir?" Dumbledore asked.

"That's right," He grinned. "Pleased to see me, Dumbledore?"

"No, I cannot say that I am," He frowned.

Greyback grinned, showing pointed teeth. Blood trickled down his chin and he licked his lips slowly, "But you know how much I like kids, Dumbledore."

"Oh, stop being disgusting," Rebekah ripped off the Invisibility cloak, revealing herself in the dark green light of the Death Eater mark in the sky.

All of the Death Eaters raised their wands at her, taking the attention of Dumbledore for a moment.

Draco barely shook his head, just enough for her to see it.

She waved a hand vaguely, "You all keep talking. I thought you were here to kill him? Chop, chop."

"Little Miss Potter is condoning murder?" Bellatrix laughed maniacally. "Oh, how the great have fallen."

Rebekah rolled her eyes with a chuckle, taking out the Elder wand to replace her one. She twirled it between her fingers, pacing a few feet until Snape appeared in the room too.

"Great to see you, sir," She said. "We're all here then. Well, besides Regulus but I'll get him in a minute. Let's get down to business. You, you, and I don't care about you," She gestured with the Elder wand to Greyback then to Bellatrix and then to the other Death Eaters. "You're all on my shit list."

"Why should we care about a little girl like you?" Greyback asked.

Rebekah smiled, flicking the tip of the wand at him. He crumpled in pain, withering as the torture curse went through him.

"Rebekah!" Dumbledore almost snapped.

"Fine," She stopped it before turning to Dumbledore, smiling brightly, "I've had enough of you keeping secrets from me. My parents are dead because of you. All because you didn't want another Dark Lord to come. Newsflash, I am worse than Voldemort, and I'm better than you. Avada Kedavra!"

The green light was long overdue to come from her new wand, hitting Dumbledore squarely in the chest as he staggered backwards. He took a step off the tower, falling to the ground.

"Five seconds people," Rebekah said, looking over the edge to watch Dumbledore fall. Her smile was feral. "Or you'll join him. Oh, Lestrange." Rebekah chucked the fake locket at her, letting the insane Witch catch it with a spell. "Give that to Voldemort and tell him I have the original. If he hurts any of my friends, including any of you Death Eaters by his orders or no, I will destroy it."

She let them leave, including Draco and Snape. The head of Slytherin stayed back just long enough to give her a stiff nod before she took a step off the tower too, transforming.

In total, there were only three people in the world who were known to have the ability of unsupported flight. Tom Riddle, Severus Snape, and Rebekah Potter.

Rebekah let the shadows take her, transforming her into mist to allow flight. It took months of teaching from Snape but she eventually achieved it. She could be fully corporal or completely a shadow.

As people gathered below the tower, the Death Eaters having left and now Aurors from the Ministry surrounded the dead body of the Headmaster, Rebekah made sure to land out of sight before making her way forward.

She stayed barely a moment there before moving away.

She didn't care about him.

With all lessons suspended, exams postponed and several dozen students being taken away by their parents, she had nothing better to do than plan. She needed to know what was going to happen with Voldemort but she didn't know so she couldn't plan much.

Rebekah stood before a mirror in her dorm, fixing the collar of her black shirt before letting the Slytherin locket sit outside of her shirt, tucked high. She wore smart trousers and polished boots.

Her hair was slicked back and she wore dark makeup, looking ever the dark mistress the Death Eaters thought she wanted to be. It was also what Dumbledore thought she wanted to be. No. They were wrong.

She had the three Hallows, the wand, the ring, and the cloak. She didn't know what it meant but she knew it was important, but something in her told her it wasn't her time to have the wand yet. Something needed to happen first.

Regulus knocked at the door as he came in, "You alright?"

Remus and Sirius would have come but they weren't allowed in the Slytherin dorm. Regulus and Sirius had reunited the day before when the Aurors came to the school.

"Yeah," She nodded. "I just never thought I'd go to the funeral of a man I killed."

She had told them, Sirius and Remus, that she killed Dumbledore. There was no point in keeping it away from them, especially after Sirius and Regulus reunited later that day.

"Come on, Sirius and Remus are waiting for you," He said. "We should have breakfast before the funeral, especially since we're all leaving after that."

"Right," She mumbled, grabbing her Potter robes and slipping that on. The dark colouring was right for a funeral and for an heir.

They went up to breakfast, gathering Daphne, Astoria, Tracy and Logan on the way. Pansy and Theo weren't allowed to be seen with her, not since they were Marked. It was just better that way.

After a time in the Great Hall, McGonagall rose to her feet as the Hall silenced, "It is nearly time. Please follow your Heads of Houses out into the grounds. Gryffindors, after me."

Slytherin followed Slughorn out, neatly lined up with the Seventh years at the front and back and the rest of the years between them.

There were rows upon rows set beside the lake. Rebekah was forced away from her friends and housemates, instead sitting between Remus and Sirius on the third row instead of the fifteenth she would have otherwise been. Teddy was napping in Remus' arms, quiet.

Merpeople sang their songs from below the lakewater, low and almost holy.

It wasn't a long ceremony but it sure felt like it. People talked about Dumbledore and his achievements, of defeating Grindlewald, of becoming headmaster. There were so many, but there were others that were lies and she knew.

When the speeches ended and no one else thought to get up, Rebekah did. Emperor stayed with Remus and Sirius as a slight murmur occurred throughout the rows. She approached the table where his body lay.

Rebekah took out the Elder wand, looking at it one last time, nodding to herself before putting it in Dumbledore's grasp.

She stepped back and white flames erupted around the table, rising until they obscured the body. The smoke was stark white and spiralled, and for a split second, she thought she saw a Phoenix. When the flames went out, a white marble tomb encased Dumbledore's body.

With a shower of arrows, falling short of the crowd, a tribute from the Centaurs, the funeral ended.

She went back to her family members, "I'm leaving Hogwarts. I'm not coming back until everything is sorted."

Sirius just nodded, hugging her side.

As much as the people here wanted to believe, but Albus Dumbledore wasn't a good man.

He was human.

But Rebekah Potter, she was a once in a reality occurrence.

She would be better than him.
