When Jaune and Cardin were called to spar, Pyrrha slapped herself for that oversight.

"I completely forgot about our training!" she cursed. More focused on Jaune's well-being at that pancake party, the actual training that they had planned had completely slipped her mind.

Pyrrha was on the edge of her seat when the two sparred. It was an odd sight, for sure. Especially for those who hadn't seen what had happened in Forever Fall. Rather than being his usual opportunistic self, Cardin was slower. Not really beating down Jaune as he normally would have. He still does but it did not have the same malice as before. To anyone else, it was like watching a fake pretend to be Cardin. But to Pyrrha, it was a hands-on, learning experience on what not to do during a fight.

Jaune's swings were too telegraphed. While Pryrrha does get a little showy in her tournament bouts, there was still a level of subtlety involved. Jaune's was far too obvious. Unsurprisingly, Cardin packed a more powerful swing compared to Jaune's. Having a mace for a weapon meant that the weight is rather concentrated on one end, and it shows.

If it wasn't for Aura, Jaune would have been sent to the hospital many times over with how he was taking those strikes. Armor wasn't the best when dealing with blunt weapons. Especially if said blunt weapons can dent armor. It was either a testament to Jaune's armor or Cardin's suprising restraint that such hasn't happened yet.

"Arc is a fast learner if nothing else," said Weiss. Pyrrha turned at the heiress and noticed that she was recording the whole fight. "Winchester's team asked us to record it, I'll send it to you later," she explained.

"Thank you, Weiss." Pyrrha turned back to the fight. It was a forgone conclusion with Cardin being the winner. Still, Pyrrha whispered, "You can win this, Jaune." She knew what was about to come and that her encouragement meant little. When it did not end the way it was supposed to, she was not alone when it came as a surprise.

Bright light blinded the whole class. It was followed by a clanging of metal and the buzzer sound signaling ring-out. When the light faded and they all could see Cardin laying down on the floor, outside the ring, their attention was on the two people that were still in the ring.

One was Jaune laying there on his back, bewildered as the rest of them. The other was someone that none of them have seen before. She was clad in dark blue clothing. She had pieces of armor on her forearms, stomach and feet. She also had a circlet on her head. Her hair was blonde and was tied to a long and braided pony-tail. But most catching of all was her weapon. Pyrrha would have thought of it as a spear due to the spearhead, but the massive cloth wrapped around it meant that it was a banner. Didn't Jaune mention a banner just a short while ago?

Her hand was outstretched towards Jaune. She looked really happy, excited even. It did not change Jaune's expression though, jaw still dropped low as he was assisted up.

When the girl spoke, everyone else also had their jaws dropped. "Servant: Ruler. True Name: Jeanne d'Arc. Sorry it took a little longer but I finally made it, Master!"

That. The girl, Jeanne d'Arc, introduced herself as a servant of some kind. She scratched the back of her head in a manner that is reminiscent of Jaune. Professor Goodwitch was the first to regain composure.

"Mr. Arc!" she demanded. "Could you explain this sudden interruption?"

Pyrrha wasn't sure if Jaune could even answer. Her leader and partner was just as lost as everyone else. Instead it was the girl, Jeanne, who answered.

"I am a Servant, ma'am," she began, adopting an unfamiliar accent. "I am Jeanne d'Arc. A Servant currently serving Jaune Arc." Jeanne bowed, respectfully.

"And what is this Servant you speak of?"

Jeanne tilted her head. "Is it not obvious? Or could it be that the concept does not exist here? I suppose explanations are in order, a Servant is a kind of fami—"

Just as suddenly as she appeared, Jeanne had vanished, leaving everyone there speechless and without answers. Looking above at the display on their aura levels, Pyrrha surmised that the answer might have been there: Jaune's aura was completely depleted.

It was Weiss that broke the silence, still recording the whole thing. "Did Arc just get a summoning Semblance?"

"It would seem so," said Blake. Her bow was oddly perked up and stiff.

"So when she said Servant," interjected Yang. "Does that mean—"

"Where is she now, Mr. Arc?" Professor Goodwitch pressed, silencing Yang before she could continue further. "Where is your Servant now?"

Jaune didn't look like he was listening. His pupils faced upwards as though he was trying to remember something. It was with a snap of Goodwitch's crop that Jaune was brought back.

"Sorry, Professor," he apologized. "Jeanne, is it? Yeah, Jeanne was just talking to me and explaining everything."

"Talking?" Weiss interrupted. "This Jeanne should be your familiar, Arc. What do you mean she is talking?"

Out of everyone here, Weiss would probably be most knowledgeable about these things. Given the nature of Weiss' Semblance, that would make her more knowledgeable than anyone else here, except maybe the professor.

Jaune raised a finger. He was still listening to Jeanne. "She is a Heroic Spirit," he relayed. "Right now she is in her… Spirit Form? She needs a supply of Magical Energy—Magical Energy? You mean like Aura? Yeah, uh she needs a supply of my Aura to stay in physical form."

Well that would explain the depletion of Aura.

Professor Goodwitch sighed. She was not going to get anymore answers from this anyway. "Very well, we will resume this tomorrow. I suppose it is one way to end the class." She turned to see that Cardin Winchester was still down. "And will someone please assist Mr. Winchester to the nurse's office."

The class was dismissed soon after. The rest of team CRDL stayed behind to help their team leader up. When he came to, he didn't look frustrated. He was bewildered at the sudden development when it was explained to him.

As Jaune slipped back on his uniform, teams JNPR and RWBY had many questions for the young blonde. The hallways of Beacon were filled with their chatter. Mostly Weiss, though. With how Jaune's Semblance being similar to her own, Pyrrha supposed that it was fair.

"So let me get this straight," said she. "Your Servant, Jeanne d'Arc—whose name being similar to yours is odd enough—can manifest herself independently without your input? She is sustained by your own aura reserves which is currently too low and so she is in this spirit form and still be able to talk to you as your aura recovers?"

Jaune nodded. "Yeah pretty much. Jeanne says she is not from here and is instead from a place called France."

"Is that like another world?" Nora asked. Then a realization hit her. "You think I would be there? That would be so awesome. Maybe I can even have a hammer there! No, wait a special hammer! One where only I can…"

"So," Ruby interjected as Nora went on about how she is now some sort of god of thunder. "This about this Semblance of yours of Jaune, she looked like she had a weapon of her own."

"Oh that?" Jaune replied. He then asked Jeanne before he continued further. To anyone else, Jaune looked like an eccentric talking to himself like that. "It is a banner. She fights with it but she had mostly rallied others with it."

"That's so cool!" Ruby's eyes sparkled. "She's like a hero! You think she is some kind of hero? I bet she is like an awesome leader."

"Wait a minute!" Nora had paused whatever new tale she was conjuring up. "Does that mean we are like a 5-man team now?"

That one gave teams RWBY and JNPR pause. It was Ren who broke the silence. "Huh, that is actually a good point. If this Jeanne is like that, then we are essentially a team of 5."

Weiss rising to the challenge, pointed her finger at Jaune. "Don't think you're the only one who could summon familiars, Arc. Team RWBY wont be far behind so watch yourself."

"Yeah," Ruby agreed. "Wait, you can summon too?"

Yang whistled. "Ice Queen on fire today! Team RWBY's gonna come right after you guys, aren't we, Kitty Kat?"

Blake rolled her eyes. But she agreed nonetheless.

As the fires of competitiveness lit in the eyes of Team RWBY, Pyrrha was deep in thought. It lingered on Jaune's semblance and what it meant. Summoning semblances while not new, do tend to involve familiars that are obedient. But Jeanne seems to be like a real girl. If she wanted, Jeanne could pass off as an actual person rather than a mere familiar.

In a way, Jaune's semblance gives him an impromptu partner. It was not permanent and would probably depend on his aura but still. With Jeanne around, that meant that Jaune had two partners, essentially. Pyrrha wasn't so sure how to feel about about that. Among other things, a semblance was born as an extension of one's soul.

Pyrrha's own semblance, Polarity, was born out of her competitive streak. One does not become a 4-time champion without being at least a little competitive. With huntsmen and huntresses using metal for their weapons, Pyrrha's semblance give her an unfair advantage against them. She used it well, too. Subtly moving the metal, giving off an illusion that she couldn't be stopped is what gave her the moniker of the "Invincible Girl."

Jaune's semblance, if Pyrrha were to guess, were the result of his ideals. To be the better huntsman that team JNPR deserves. From what Jaune could relay to them, Jeanne was also a leader. She even introduced herself as a "Ruler." Is that what Jeanne is supposed to be here? Her leader idealized? Why is she a girl then? Was it because many of Jaune's friends are girls? Would Jeanne take her place as Jaune's partner?

So many things were swirling in Pyrrha's head. Some are more personal than others. She would have much to think about by the time night would come again.

Later that night, Pyrrha and Jaune made sure to train. Jaune was a fast learner, Pyrrha observed that much from the match earlier. They weren't solid yet but some of the basic has been implemented there. Pyrrha probably owes a fruit basket for Cardin's introductory lesson.

"We'll start with a simple thrust, Jaune," Pyrrha said. It was the simplest of all techniques. Being something that Jaune can do without lowering his shield much, it was a good start.

"Right." He nodded.

Rasing his shield, Jaune thrust his sword forward. Pyrrha corrected him there for he put his shield behind him as he did so. She made his do it again and Jaune followed. When he got it right this time, Pyrrha smacked him on the shield, causing him to lose balance.

"Keep your feet wide, Jaune," instructed she. Jaune made no complaint.

The rest of the night was like this. Jaune would thrust, keeping his shield up and Pyrrha would correct him. By the end of it, she was confident that her partner would have gotten the form down. All that was left was to solidify it through sparring but that can come tomorrow, assuming he would be called again. If not then they could do so afterwards.

Pyrrha could still go on but Jaune was exhausted. His aura had recovered much but he did not use it here. So they took a break there.

"We're not exactly fighting much so I think I'll just let my aura recover," he reasoned. "Besides I think you guys deserve some answers without me playing middle man." He then tilted his head backwards. To anyone else, Jaune would like an eccentric, talking to himself. "You okay with that, Jeanne?"

"Jaune," Pyrrha interjected. "This Jeanne, is she the one from your dreams?"

"Yeah, it's weird." Jaune nodded. "Even Jeanne doesn't get it actually, with how similar our names are. Right now, she's noticing how similar our souls are. Like we come from the same mold or something."

"I see." Pyrrha's shoulders stiffened. "Is Jeanne going to—you know—be like a partner for you now?"

"What? No, no!" Jaune was furiously shaking his head. Surprisingly, Jeanne materialized herself, saying the same thing. Even mirroring the motions. The two have similarities beyond names and souls apparently.

"Master is just master!" Jeanne reasoned. "I'll be there to protect and help him as a Servant—which I suppose is like a partner—but I won't be replacing you or anything Achi—I mean Pyrrha—sorry, your aura reminds me of someone."

Pyrrha eyes perked up. "I remind you of someone? Is this someone a partner of yours?"

Jeanne shook her head. "He was a hero from another time. We met under different circumstances. Or at least a version of us, anyway."

"A version?" Pyrrha tilted her head. It sounds complicated so she let it go. "Was this person like me? Was he a good warrior?"

"Indeed. He was great. He was close to being invincible, so they say." Jeanne took one look at Pyrrha. In particular, she looked downward, at her heels. She turned to Jaune then back to Pyrha. "Maybe consider some protection for your heel. Wouldn't want a stray arrow hitting you there."

"Why?"

"Just a feeling. I did say he was close to invincible. Close but not quite there. Anyways, I am not going to take your place as partner for master. I can assure you on that."

"Are you sure?"

"On my word as a Ruler Servant. I promise you that."

Jaune nodded in affirmation. "I promise you that as well Pyrrha. Arc family honor. Now a two-in-one deal." He flashed a goofy-looking grin.

It took a moment for Pyrrha to relax. She looked between Jaune and Jeanne. Their eyes were so full of pleading that she let it go. Maybe she was overthinking things or maybe she was rattled too suddenly at Jeanne's presence. Maybe it was too soon to call it that but Pyrrha had been rather lonely when she first came to Beacon and she really didn't want to lose her companion that early.

"Let's call it a night for now Jaune," said she, more at ease than earlier. "You learn fast, really fast."

"Yeah well, I have a pretty good teacher." Jaune sheathed his sword.

As the two of them came back to their dorm room, Pyrrha Nikos looked on as Jeanne returned to her spirit form. She took a deep breath and followed her team leader. Each step made her look down at her heels, the familiar's odd comment about it lingering in her thoughts.

AN: As for the use of "Pull" I think it's more of an unconscious influence on my part since we as the players "pull" Servants in FGO so to use pull/tug just felt right to me.
