Good morning/evening/night, everyone. It's me, your favorite writer and Yu-Gi-Oh average player, ToMyMaster 😊. Here for another sweet chapter, after what happened to Jaden against the Evil Forces of Haou. I'm finally back in my country, and that means I get to finally have my PC back to write some more (which meant correcting some errors from the past chapter, because it didn't look so well *sweat smiles*).
My week expense in Madeira was quite unique, I kinda enjoyed it for the view, the places I visited, the food and the night walks. It was just unfortunate for the last two days, that I ended up getting sick, and I miraculously could get out of the country without ending myself in an hospital. But in the end, everything went really fine…
Anyways, I'm really happy to know (only yesterday I got told from one of my friendly readers), that some writers gave shoutous for my story, which I'll mention them – Yung Warrior(from the story 'State of the Meta') and KingKakashi(from the story 'Naruto vs Sasuke: The Aftermath').
I'm an average fan of Naruto & Boruto universe anime, I didn't follow all of the episodes, but I higly recommend KingKakashi's story for those who want to know more (by the authors opinion), the story after the first aftermath between teen Naruto and Sasuke at the 'Valley of the End'.
I readed some of State of the Meta chapters as well. It's a real funny story with an Original Character (OC) inserted in the Yu-Gi-Oh GX World, where you'll have different archetypes/cards being played during each chapters, which will keep evolving as long as the Meta will do the same (from Fusions, to Rituals, to Synchro and Xyz Monsters as well).
Anyways, I'm really thankful for these two writters, since I never, ever thought my story would be mentioned by someone, so that's really a reward for me, a new trophy I received. Really thank you for everyone who kept reading my chapters so far, and kept reviewing them, just to show your points of view for my story. I'll be keep updating my story with some fresh chapters, just like you love to see it…

Guest (C. 44): I'm glad you enjoyed how I made the Shadow Riders becoming a real threat to the Key Keepers, unlike the power level they show in the anime. It's how I want to make my own anime duels as epic as possible, using some new powerful cards and some fan-made cards related to their specific archetype. And it also showed how the Yu-Gi-Oh! Game became now a survival route for life and death, and made Dr. Crowler experience it at first glance.
Captain Claymore:
C. 2: Yeah, I didn't understood at first glance how Jaden would just receive that Winged Kuriboh from a stranger, which ends up being Yugi himself, and makes him become the MAIN CHARACTER of the story. Like… it's all about the plot-armor for the story I guess? But oh well, Winged Kuriboh it is… the Kuriboh will always be Yugi's partner. I'm also glad you enjoyed Dr. Crowler's italic sentences, since it's based on the japanese sub terms he uses. And Jaden using the DARK/Fiend cards… it's mostly Yubel that uses that deck, while also using DARK/Plants. So I've decided to give him Advanced 'Elemental Hero' with 'Masked Heroes'. It was cool, right?
C. 3: You're right about how I write my own chapters – I use my native language to try make the sentences being translated to English, since Portuguese is my mother language, and it's the one that I get to talk the most, even in sometimes misspelling my own words (I just sometimes hate caligraphy and vocabulary, ironic, isn't it?). It's a good thing that I have now friends who read my story and correct me in sentences where I'm wrong.
Anyways, Jaden's past as a kid being beaten by some bullies… I took that idea from GhostKaiser's story, since I found it fit for mine and I also experienced it in the past, so I know that feeling so well. And who said that Yu-Gi-Oh would be all about card gaming? There's EVERYTHING you can do, than just activating your duel-disk and play cards to your field. Action, Drama, Suspense, Family, Romance, anything you can think about…
Oh well, Jaden is Yugi and Téa's adopted child and about Téa's deck, I've been through some different decks to give her, and I've decided to give her the Duel Links one she uses (for those who play the game, you already know which one is 😊).
And I'm sorry to say this, but I don't like the dense goofball Jaden version of the anime, in my opinion. I understand it's him who makes all the work for the duels (god knows how many plot-armor can one guy get from his duels, I swear), but becoming the best at school by sleeping and dropping out from school… I don't see the idea behind that. Which is why I came with the serious and edgy Jaden, from the season 4 idea taken. He might sound 'cringe' at first glance, but hey, better that than nothing, am I right? And Chazz being stomped was the idea for his evolution as a character, cause first… I didn't read the manga back that time; second, it felt for me back then to have him play that Chthonian deck with those weak monsters, even if he had the brains to play them. Back then, he was also understimating Slifer Reds just like in cannon, so it was a win-win.
End of Reviews, I think I've talked too much. I'll keep posting smaller chapters, because I agree with Captain Claymore's review on Chapter 19. Its time for me to start making smaller chapters, and maybe work on duels that will contain 2 chapters in it, for my duel strategies. I hope you'll enjoy this chapter, and stay safe and healthy.
Chapter 48 - Reconciliations of the Dark
Jaden was unconscious, ever since he lost to Haou. That duel was one of the most disturbing things he ever faced, after his duel against Nightshroud. He was feeling afraid, still remembering the things they said back in their duels…
(Jaden's Flashback POV)
"This wasn't the true terror, Jaden! I'm activating my Archfiend Black Skull Dragon's effect: … By returning back Red-Eyes Black Dragon, you'll take 2400 points of damage! IT'S OVER FOR YOU!", Nightshroud told, his Demon-Dragon Fusion Monster releasing a lightning strike from his jaw directly to me.
"YOU FUCKING STAY AWAY FROM MY BIG BRO, FUCKER!", Syrus shouted. "Continuous Trap Card, OPEN! Damage Alteration:… this card makes that damage become 0, then my Big Bro can Special Summon a monster from his deck with an ATK lower or equal to the damage he would've taken.", Syrus countered with his Trap, creating a barrier that protected me from the damage; making me able to summon my Elemental Hero Woodsman from my deck(ATK: 1000 / DEF: 2000).
"Damn you, Syrus! Damn you, Damn you, DAMN YOU! Since Jaden won't take that damage, you WILL take it instead! I activate my Quick-Play Spell, Red-Eyes Rage:… I'll tribute my Red-Eyes Retro Dragon, and sending again my Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my deck, to activate my Archfiend Black Skull Dragon's effect! FIRE!", his Fusion Dragon created another lightning strike from his jaw, but this time, it went straight to my best friend.
"SY, NO!", I saw in horror the bluenette screaming from the lightning fire almost pulverizing his body with the flames; Syrus tried to stand on the ground with his feet, but couldn't take it and fell from the side.
S: 3000 – 600 LP
I was still horrified by what happened in that duel with Nightshroud. My best friend took my place in those flames as I couldn't do anything to lend a hand in his time of need. This wasn't supposed to happen... Duels were suppose to be something fun for everyone. Not… this trial from hell.
But the real horror, was back when I met with THE Supreme King Haou, and the way I saw everyone i've met on this island being burnt to ash by that black flame. And that vile feeling card Haou played in the end.
"I'll show you the symbol of ultimate power created by darkness itself. The Invincible and Ultimate power! My Quick-Play Fusion Spell Card, Super Polymerization!"
Haou's Spell card created a strong vortex that stole my Elemental Hero Moon Dancer and fused together with Haou's Evil Hero Lightning Golem.
"SUPER DARK FUSION! Join me, Level 8, Evil Hero Malicious Bane!", his Fusion Evil Hero appeared on his field, together with his Evil Hero Malicious Fiend, who were now staring at me with their evil smirks. "VANISH FROM MY SIGHT!"
His two Heroes clashed their claws on me, making me fall to the abyss, as my Life Points dropped to 0.
J: 5900 – 2400 – 0 LP
I was trembling in fear. His darkness was stronger than I thought. Was this… what duels were ALL about?
God knows which tremendous powers the Supreme King had in that duel… Has he consumed me? Is this my fate to be a vessel and carrier of Haou's will? Who would be there to save me?
This type of dueling I don't want it near my friends and I. Why did this have to happen... Darkness this, Darkness that... Is dueling all about Domination and Darkness? A glimmer of light was shinning down on me, I could hear someone call for me...
(end Flashback)
Jaden was feeling windy breezes blowing into his brown hair, he could hear traffic noises. All that made him open his brown-eyes… he was no longer in that dark place.
The huge buildings, the lights on the night sky. He looked down, and saw the cars driving to their respective road; some Heroes flying at their respective speed, some space kids and what appeared to be mechanical dogs and cyborgs, and finally some Warriors and Spellcasters smilling as they were travelling to the place.
"Those are… the Elemental Heroes of my deck. And aren't those the Hero Kid's? And Wroughtweiler. Wait, I also know that one… that's Dark Catapulter. Spell Striker and Armor Breaker, and Card Ejector with Miracle Flipper. And this place… isn't this my Skyscraper?"
"Oh, I see you're finally awaken, my other 'me'.", a familiar voice sounded from behind him. Jaden turned his head to the source, and saw someone that looked exactly like him. The only thing different between the two boys was his yellow-gold eyes. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"A while? Weren't you just now strangling my neck to death with that darkness, trying to possess my body?!", Jaden asked him angrily, not enjoying his company.
"You've got it wrong, Jaden. I'm not the Haou you just met in that dark place, I'm Yasashi Yami. Or Yami… as you like to call me."
"… And what makes me believe that you're not Haou? You could easily trick me and lead me to something worse, you know? And I'm not someone who falls from someone's traps that easily!"
"Oh little boy of such miniscule faith. For someone who gave you the ingredients and formula needed to make your Monsters made from the Darkness of the Cosmos? You really think I would set you up for such a fall? I'm the one who saved your soul from Haou's attempted possession.", Yami explained.
"… Just who are you exactly? Why did I see that Haou in that dark space, and not you?", Jaden asked. "I thought it was the end of me, and I wouldn't be able to wake up again…"
"I have to give you an apology for that. Haou and me… we're two sides of the same coin. While I fight for the fair and brightest aspects of justice, he fights for the cruel and darkest aspects of them…"
"Then, that means… those visions I saw. You're… King Judai?!"
The boy smilled for Jaden's answer. "That's correct, Jaden – I'm the past King Judai, once lived and ruled on the Kingdom of Disgaia. I had promised a marriage with my dear Asuka… Queen of the Neighbouring Kingdom of Arubboth, so that we could rule over the two Kingdoms."
"But then… that tragedy happened.", Jaden continued, remembering the visions he saw before. "That made me feel a little concerned. Who was that disguised villager, who was considered your enemy? Why did he create an alliance with the Light of Destruction?"
"I can't give you an satisfactory answer my friend, since I'm just as much in the dark as yourself. But I'm aware of one thing...", Judai told him with his serious look. "The hatred, the anger, the anguish and sheer depths of sadness for my beloved's death awakened a side of myself deep in my mind and soul to even have the will to continue my struggle against the light. Haou is that side created from Asuka's passing, and locked me to follow a path of justice born of cruelty and destiny with the heroes born from the hate of my heart, the Evil Heroes. The only ones who were my sanctuary and reprieve were the Heaven's Mage Emi and my Greatest Friend Yubel."
"Huh? Heaven's Mage Emi? Who is she?", Jaden asked him curious.
"… Someone I met after becoming the Supreme King Haou. I'm sure that Yubel, who has been serving you nicely, has some knowledge of her in the past, if she never talked you about it."
"Unfortunately, I got no information whatsoever, ever since I knew about Asuka's… yeah. It only happened when I met with Alexis. And she happened to be Asuka's reincarnation, as Yubel confirmed to me."
Judai smilled at him. "I see… then I'm glad that hope is not lost yet. I knew that Alexis you've been dating wasn't just a mere coincidence. But, you're also following the same path as me…"
"… No, I'm not. Just so you know… me and Alexis aren't supposed to get married until we end our years in the Academy.", Jaden explained to him, but received a smirking stare from the past King.
"But you two already copulated, haven't you?", he asked.
"W… WHAT'S WITH THAT QUESTION!?", Jaden shouted embarassed, while Judai started laughing at him. "What's with you knowing what me and Alexis already done or not?"
"Jaden… I've been a part of you from the very beginning. The darkness living inside of your soul, the Gentle Darkness. I'm also responsible for having Yubel recognize you as my existence, as you already know. But also… I've become one with your deck – I'm now the Skyscraper, that makes your friends fight by your side."
"You're… my Field Spell card that supports the Elemental Heroes?", Jaden asked in doubt.
"You still don't believe me? What about you get a nice talk with your Heroes?", Judai asked him. They walked to the elevator of the top of the building they were, and Judai pressed the button to make them go to the ground level.
The doors opened, and Jaden was met with some of his elemental allies of his deck – Avian, Burstinatrix, Clayman and Sparkman.
"You four… used to be my most iconic monsters of my deck. But then… after that duel where I saw you becoming Fusion Materials for Evil Heroes… I…", Jaden wanted to continue talking, but got interrupted.
"Jaden, what does make you say that we're the Supreme King's servants?", Avian asked him with his arms crossed. "I don't see the smile in the many duels we were usually accompanied by, so where could it be?"
"What happenned in that abyss that we couldn't help you with, our friend, our summoner… It made us sick to our stomach. We had thought that if you summoned us in that hellish encounter, we could've evened the odd in your favor... or something to at least show that you weren't alone", the Heroine Burstinatrix told him in a worried voice but with an undercurrent of anger in it.
"… Just think of this defeat as a lesson for a next time you'll face him. Not everyone's perfect, so you already know what to do – Review your inventory and keep grinding for more resources. But keep taking your time to relax and have more fun.", Clayman explained to him.
"And don't forget that we're the ones who have been supporting you from the very beginning. We're not supporting or even with Haou's darkness, but instead, we've been guided by Judai's brand of it into our Heroic Spirit.", Sparkman approached Jaden, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"Sparkman... I'm glad... but I don't... know which path is mine to take and keep.", the boy told him.
"Jaden, your journey to become a King is just getting started. With that said, we'll be glad to help you with new experiments for your deck, with any new tactics that you can claim from us…", Judai explained to him, also placing his hand on his older shoulder. "… Isn't that right, my friendly companions?"
"Yes, my King!", the four Heroes nodded.
Jaden looked at Judai, and for the way how his monsters were showing him their honest support.
"See, Jaden? We're all here to keep supporting you. There's no need to be afraid anymore of failing, since it's more fun to do so when we're all together to watch, isn't it?"
"Y… Yeah, you're right, Judai. Thanks for this, I really needed this time.", the boy smilled at the company he was at the moment. "So… is there a place you guys want to show me to check on these experiments and tactics?"
"Oh, do we?", Avian asked at Sparkman, the two Heroes grinning.
"Follow us to our next destination!", the Electric Hero guided them to
After some time later, the group was now inside a storage room filled with boxes that had equipment fit for each of Jaden's Elemental Heroes.
"Aren't these… the old Equip Spells I used to have in my deck?", Jaden asked curious and picked some tools from the open boxes.
"… Yep, this is Spark Blaster. It can only be equiped to Sparkman, and switches the monster' battle position. It can only be used 3 times, and the card is destroyed…", the brownette said, holding on a black blaster that had some wires to be connected with electricity. "So that's the reason why it can only be equiped to Sparkman… it works with Electricity."
"Easy there on my weapon…", the mentioned Hero told him, having Jaden return his blaster. "It's fine for you to watch over our Equip Spells, but they're dangerous too…"
"… Understood.", Jaden kept walking and saw another open box with a bottle that looked like heavy lotion. "What is this? Is this supposed to be Clay Warp?"
"Uhm… yeah, that one's mine. I was looking for that… thank you, Jaden.", Elemental Hero Clayman told him, and held on the bottle. "I really needed this for later."
'That was weird…', Jaden thought to himself, while keep looking around. There were some other Equip Spells on the floor, which he recognized. "Let's see… Bubble Blaster, Bubble Rod, Cyclone Boomerang, Voltic Spear… and I think it's about it. So that's six Equip Spells?"
"Yes, that precisely that…", Judai explained next to him. "But besides that, our Heroes also have their skills."
"Skills?", Jaden asked curious.
"Precisely…", Avian and Bustinatrix appeared next to Jaden. "Besides us being fused into Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, we also have our unique strategies – I have 'Feather' skills, with Feather Shot, Storm and Wind.", the Wind Hero explained, opening his winds.
"And I have Burst Return and Impact.", Burstinatrix revealed flames coming from her hands. "Coming from my hard temper, either I return all Elemental Heros to the hand; or I can destroy all monsters on the field, and have each player take 300 damage for each monster destroyed."
"I… I see. But it's still a little complicated to have too many cards… to put in just a simple deck. And… because it mentions all your Hero different names in it.", Jaden explained sighing. "I can only imagine my hand having both Elemental Hero Avian and Burst Impact… it wouldn't work so well, would it?"
"If you keep thinking like that, you'll lose your belief for your friends, Jaden.", Judai told him, placing his hand over Jaden's shoulder. "But that's why we're all here for you. We've been working on these new cards for you."
Jaden picked the cards that Judai gave him, and looked one at the time. He was feeling amazed by them…
"You've been hidding such incredible cards from me? If I had these cards, I could've defeated Haou at ease…", the brownette admited, while keep looking at the cards.
"… But if you're willing to play those cards, you have to come with a sacrifice.", Judai explained to him.
"A sacrifice? What do I need to pay with this?", Jaden asked and sensed a card leaving from him. "Hey… that's my Elemental Hero Sunriser."
"I'm sorry, Jaden. But you can burn your retinas by staring at the sun for too long… And that's why I'll be sealing it for some time, for you to take that new power within you.", he explained, picking on Jaden's Fusion Monster. "And I'm doing this to help you… you'll be thanking me later."
"… I'll trust you, then. You wouldn't be giving me these cards for nothing. And… what about that Super Polymerization Spell Card?"
"What about it?", Judai asked confused.
"Don't play dumb on me, you're starting to piss me off. Didn't you just say that you and Haou weren't two sides of one coin? That means that you also possess Super Polymerization with you, don't you?"
"Oh, you mean that…", Judai smirked. "I'm sorry to inform you, but you're not ready yet to master the Ultimate powers of Super Polymerization yet. That's why I've transferred the card directly to Yubel, and bid her to not handle it to you… no matter how many times you'll ask her."
"… I knew something really smelled fishy here, but I'm fine with it anyways. You'll be staying here in the Skyscraper most of your time; I'll get more time to talk with my Elemental Heroes, and get to work with these new cards. Even if I won't get to play my Sunriser for a while, I'm fine with that…", Jaden extended his fist in front of Judai. "Let's get along well, my friend."
"It'll be my pleasure, my descendant. Let's keep working hard each day for now on…", their fists clashed together, as Jaden was able to see a light through a 'tunnel'. "… And it seems your friends want to see you again. Greet them from me, will ya?"
"You betcha, King… Gotcha, you're a sweet guy!", Jaden winked and did his usual pose with his hand.
"And you're a gentle person, with a confident fate. I'll be looking after you, King's Successor…", Judai told him, his yellow-golden eyes glowing even brighter.
Jaden got to finally open his eyes to the real world, after what felt like a long dream of two days. He was feeling cold sweat running into his head, his black sweater was also wet for some reason.
"This… this is not a good way to wake up. I feel so sticky, I need a good shower…", he admited, but then he noticed he wasn't alone in the nurse room. He smiled after seeing both Alexis and Yubel laying on each side of his bed, peacefully smilling under their sleep. "Well, this is quite the nice welcome for me, isn't it?"
Alexis was the next one to wake up, her hazel eyes staring at the brownette. "Jaden, you're… you're finally awake. I'm so glad…"
"Ah, yeah… Good morning, Lex. Have I missed something important?", before Jaden could receive an answer from his girlfriend, he got introduced with a tight hug from her instead.
"I'm sorry, Jaden. I'm really sorry for not being able to save you back in that duel you had against Nightshroud…", she told him with regret, while Jaden was surprised at first, but then hugged her gently.
"Hey, come on Lex. I'm fine here, having you and Yubel close to me. Has it been hard for both of you without me by your side?"
"It'll start to be hard for now on, my love…", Yubel's voice sounded next, which made Jaden look at the demoness. "… and good morning for you as well. Slept well?"
"I slept for what felt like an eternity, so please don't mention it. It felt like I wouldn't wake up again…", Jaden told her, but then remember what Yubel said. "And what do you meant by the 'hard' part?"
"It's what she really means it, Jay. It appears that we have a lot to tell you ever since you've been in a coma.", Alexis told him sadly.
"Feel free to tell me everything you know…", Jaden asked the two, who nodded and reported everything they knew.
(1) From the revelation that Nightshroud was the black mask behind Atticus Rhodes, Alexis' Big Brother which they've been looking for a long time; (2) The next day, a Vampire Mistress called Camula was the next Shadow Rider, who was looking for her lover who happened to be Atticus; (3) In order to not let Camula get her hands over Dr. Crowler's student, the professor had challenged her in a duel, which turned to be a Shadow Duel where he lost his key to open one of the Spirit Gates; (4) Alexis and Chazz joint in a tag duel against Camula's siblings, who were striking back at all of humanity for calling them the monsters and exterminating their kind to almost the last man. Alexis and Chazz got defeated them, and promised them they would have a pact of alliance between Humans and Vampires.
"… I see, quite the rough adventure you all gone through. And how's Syrus? Is he okay after what happened to him?", Jaden asked them curious.
"Now that you mention him, he was also responsible for stopping the Punishment the two Vampires would take from losing their Shadow Duel, so he looked pretty fine in my opinion.", Alexis admitted.
"… But he's not looking really well emotionally, my love.", Yubel warned him. "Jaden, he HAD to stop a duel that happened between Camula… and his older brother, Zane."
"… What? Zane is interfering between us? Why would he try a stunt like this?", Jaden asked them in a concerned tone.
"He obtained a new power… one that we couldn't believe it ever existed. We got information from both Camula and her siblings… that he was able to Rank-Up his Xyz Monster.", Alexis told him worried. "It just bothers me that maybe he wants avenge his defeat against you, Jaden."
"But… wait a minute. Syrus was the one who stopped their duel… so Syrus got to meet against Zane after all.", Jaden told them worried. "… What did he said?"
Yubel looked at Alexis worried. "Should we tell him, Alexis?"
Alexis nodded. "Jaden… before the duel could be interrupted, Syrus asked for Zane to forfeit the duel… or else he would give his key to the Shadow Riders and offer his soul to the Sacred Beasts."
"… You're joking, aren't you?", Jaden asked them, but could see the serious looks on their faces. "You're not joking… You're really not telling me a bad joke to laugh at, right? W… Why would Syrus do such a thing."
"Because he values his family the most, as much you should know this already, my love.", Yubel told him. "Zane is his older related-by-blood brother; even if he looks like a total phony and an asshole. Even more, Syrus knew he HAD to do what he did, because he promised Atticus that he would bring Camula back to him. Even if it meant risking his life."
"You're such an idiot, Little Brother of mine…", Jaden murmured to himself, while felt Alexis standing in front of him. "Lex?"
"… I haven't thanked you yet, for what you risked to save my brother, have I?", the Slifer Red blonde asked him with a teasing smile. She placed her hands over his cheeks, approaching her face close to his, so that their lips could meet again…
"Oh my… love making first thing in the morning. You really are doing a nice work for our servant, aren't you, Alexis?", Yubel asked with her teasing smile.
'N… Not now with that appeal, Yubel…', Jaden asked her, but was getting too much focused on Alexis lips and tongue moving inside his mouth, as if he couldn't endure his excitement. 'Jeez, what's with this sweet taste of yours, Lex. You're absolutely doing it on purpose…'
Alexis pulled gently her lips away from Jaden's, finishing their French Kiss with some little pants, and having both Slifers sharing a desired stare at each other. "Feeling better, Master?"
"… I have no comments. I just want to take a fast shower, because of this soaked shirt.", Jaden nervously showed how much sweat was over his black sweater.
"Th… That's really awful, isn't it?", Alexis was now outside of the bed, just so Jaden could finally stand on his feet. "Is it okay… for both me and Yubel join you in your shower?"
"…Eh?", Jaden asked confused, and then got surprised. "I… I was going to the Boy's onsen, and I don't think you can enter there…"
"Eh? But you already joined the girl's onsen, and we didn't expelled you there. That's unfair…", Alexis pouted at him, while Jaden felt Yubel's arms over his shoulder.
"What about I drag you two with me for some private time in a sweet bathtub, for some fun time, if you know what I mean~?"
"I'm in!", the blonde girl approached and also hugged Jaden in the front, to make it easy for Yubel to teleport them.
"… You two give me a break already…", those were Jaden's last words before he got teleported away to the Monster Realm with Alexis as well.

So Judai gets revealed as Jaden's Gentle Darkness, and the Mastermind behind the Skyscraper that Jaden plays on his deck. I guess he got another wingman for his future, at the cost for Jaden no longer play his Elemental Hero Sunriser.
