Ladies and gentleman… welcome back to another chapter. Yep, it's another short one, since there won't have any duel in it. I've learnt my lesson . It's way better to post smaller chapters about my whole novel, to get some reviews that might come help me in the future ones.
My vacations are done too, which is a shame. I really enjoyed have my times of resting, while thinking of the next chapter that I would post. Oh well, I still have the breaks on the next Sunday, and so on, next weekend… and so on, so on.
In this chapter, I've decided have this tittle be a 2-part chapter, as you can see. It came to the point where it's one of the climax of my novel, so I thought leaving the most important part to the last. I would be thankful to know in the reviews, if it was a good idea leaving this 1st part here, thank you

C. 4: I'm glad you liked this chapter about Alexis. For once I was afraid you wouldn't like my full characterization of her, because of the first chapters. And yep, there goes again the edgy Jaden trying to defend his little brother from get bullied by the professor and the Obelisk Blue students who laughed at him. Well, something HAD to happen, to let me have a plot for the next scene, which was trying get to the duel between Jaden and Alexis. So, I simply just killed two birds with one stone. I took your advice of the *breaks*, which I quite agree and also think it's better this way – I'll just do the line break instead .
I do have to apologize about the deck that Alexis used in the beginning of the story, since there was a meaning for her deck begins first with the Cyber Girls, and only later with the Cyber Angels.
C. 5: Yes, indeed. This is considered my very best work I've done in a single chapter, which is why is my favorite chapter ever. The best way for how Syrus and Dark Magician Girl met, in a way that she changed his life forever. My best Yu-Gi-Oh GX ship, absolutely deserved my effort in this chapter.
I've answered thes problematic plays by PM, but answering here is simple as well: Cyber Repairer let the Syrus' opponent drew a card, which the drawn card was Raigeki, that he activated on Main Phase 2; Mixeroid has 0 ATK points and 2200 DEF, if Megaroid City would stay on the field, it would change Mixeroid attack to 2200. If Syrus would've activated Cyber Repairer, his Mixeroid wouldn't be destroyed by battle, and Syrus would've lost the duel.

Chapter 49 – Silver Paths in the Storms (Part I)
"You've just got to be fucking kidding me…", Chazz wasn't looking really calmed at that time. In fact, he was really, really annoyed. "After the day those two brats gave that stupid excuse that they travelled to a parallel dimension to another Realm, get to face a Shadow Duelist and get in a state of a coma… Even after all that… THEY FRICKING FORGOT THE BABY? AND WHERE THE HELL IS FONDA?!"
The poor baby Marcus was crying on his arms, wondering why there wasn't his old brothers Jaden or Syrus, or the nurse Fonda taking care of him – they would be the closed ones knowing what to do in this situation.
"Jeez, what do you want?", Chazz asked him with a hint of nerve. "Is it food? Did you shit your diaper? Do you have fever or something?"
"Uhm… Big Bro.", the blonde Ojamaiden Yellow interrupted him. "Maybe I can help…"
"YOU?", Chazz asked the little pixie in a shouting tone. "What can you even help in this situation? This is the real Human World! I'M THE ONE, THE CHAZZ, talking care of this crying thing. What is it that you can do?"
"… I used to take care of my sisters too. Or better yet, my sisters also used to take care of me, when we were little. So, I know some things about taking care of youngsters, even babies.", the pixie confessed with her sad tone.
"… Can you? Then, tell me what do I have to do. And don't you dare try to trick me!", Chazz warned her.
"Yes, Big Bro.", the pixie smiled for his trust and looked at the crying Marcus. "Hm-hm, I understand. He looks tired, so I think in this situation he wants you to take a walk. And something also tells me he's also hungry…"
"How are you so sure about it?", Chazz asked her.
"Just an intuition. I can always sing him a lullaby to see if he can relax… but that would require some energy from you, Big Bro…", Ojamaiden Yellow warned him.
"I don't care about what happens to me, if I can make him stop crying. If it's food that he needs, I can also pay for it, let's just go then…", Chazz felt the pixie become real, and let her keep cover under his jacket so that she could start singing to Marcus.
The black-haired student walked away from the nurse room, and went to the next destination… the school canteen.
Mindy and Jasmine were in their bedroom of the Slifer Red Girls dorm, sitting on their beds after waking-up. Another day had passed, but their minds couldn't let go of what happened yesterday, inside the nurse room – how the Obelisk Blue Headmistress, the nurse Fonda had her way to make out with Jaden.
"They… they really did it, that night, didn't they?", the black-haired girl asked.
"It is what I also saw them doing it. Just… I don't understand. I thought this was supposed to go all step-by-step. And Fonda isn't even allowed to have… sex with other students.", Jasmine admitted. "But… she really did it."
"… What about it now?", Mindy asked concerned. "What will be the next step we'll do, since we know about this? Should we tell Alexis about it? Or even… the other professors?"
"I don't know… it's just… this is just TOO crazy for one, no, two-days-streak. We became hostages of a Shadow Game, where we were dragged into a lava pit; the Shadow Rider happened to be Alexis' Old Brother, Atticus, which she missed him for too long; A Vampire Mistress is revealed to be the next Second Shadow Rider, WHO was also looking for Atticus… and now this!"
Mindy sighed from Jasmine's answer. "I'm also in the same track as you, Jaz. I feel empty, some sorrow. From all this just happening, and it felt like we've done nothing to help our friends…"
They could hear a knock from the door of their room, and Jasmine walked to open the door. The one who knocked revealed to be Nurse Fonda…
"… Good morning, Mindy, Jasmine.", she greeted her two students.
"Y… Yeah, good… morning, teach.", the red-haired girl looked at her embarrassed. She wasn't the one the two girls wanted to see at this time.
"Miss Fonda? Why are you here? Were you looking for us?", Mindy asked concerned, in which the nurse nodded.
"You… I felt like I needed to tell you, to let you know about what happened… that time, in that room.", Fonda tried to earn some trust of the two girls. "Because… it wasn't supposed to happen, but it did for Jaden's sake."
"So, you're telling us that you had sex with Jaden, for the sake of him? Was it pleasurable, the way how he enjoyed getting mounted by you, and your… developed body?", Jasmine asked her a little mad.
"No… No, it's like that, Jasmine. Hear me please…"
"We're all listening here, teach. You're just not helping at all, but instead having us keep remembering that time. We trusted you, so we could grab a new sweater for Jaden… Why would you such a thing in our back? What do you mean it WAS for Jaden's sake?", Jasmine kept asking the same question, but this time showed emotional tears from her anger.
"The 'boy' called Jaden was sick!", a voice sounded from behind Fonda, which surprised both Jasmine and Mindy, for seeing another woman that looked exactly like the nurse, except her white sorceress outfit. "All that your teacher did was follow my instructions to absorb some dark flames that were being infested inside his body and heart."
"And… who are you? Are you perhaps… a Monster Spirit?", Mindy asked, as she walked closer to the teacher.
"Girls… Jasmine, Mindy… this woman, she's my reincarnation of some dimension, back when Jaden was considered a King. Jaden resembles that man she once loved and lived a life with him. So, she knew that something wrong was happening with Jaden's body… it was the same problem with her lover's body.", Fonda pointed out, in a way the two girls would understand. "When I checked his head to measure the heat, he had a huge fever; she said it came from some dark flames that were too strong that needed to be treated. So, I did what she asked… since Jaden is one of my precious students."
"So… it was all a misunderstanding? You really didn't want to do what you did?", Jasmine asked her.
Fonda nodded. "Jaden might be a nice, sweet and real-caring boy. But I'm a teacher, and I need to fulfill that role as one. All you girls saw that night… please, don't tell anybody about it. Not even Jaden, that he doesn't know nothing about it… right, Emi?"
The sorceress nodded. "Supposedly, that boy back then was really unconscious, so he doesn't know nothing of what really happened that night. It's just like a deep dream he had, while we were just saving him with my 'Magic'."
"… We see it now. We guess we can trust you… just before you answer this question.", Jasmine asked directly at Fonda.
"What is it?"
"Do you believe in Monster Spirits? Was this Emi the one who did the Neuro-Link?"
"… You two also know about the Monster Spirits?", the nurse Fonda asked the two girl students, who nodded as well. "Then yes, Emi was the one who fused with me, to create a Neuro-Link. How did you two made that pact?"
"Jaden's Yubel. She asked us to keep it secret from the others, on the same day that Jaden and Syrus dueled for the representative spot of Duel Academy. Besides us, there's also… Chumley, Bastion… and I guess it's all that. Jaden and Alexis were the ones showing us about Yubel's powers.", Mindy pointed out.
"… This world is getting even crazier than I ever thought.", Fonda admitted with a nervous look, which resulted with the three girls small laughing about it. "A… Anyways, now that I told you two about all the truth… what will you say about it?"
"We say it's fine, as long as you keep your promise, teach. Just so you know… you won't get to interfere between our time with Jaden for now on, this is pact we'll have in secret between us, deal?", Jasmine asked the teacher with a challenging smirk.
"Uh? What do you mean by that?", Fonda asked worried.
"Yeah, Jaz… What do you mean by what you said?", Mindy also asked curious.
"What I mean is… When it comes our chance to have our time with Jaden, you won't get to say… not even a single word… to the teachers, neither Alexis or nobody else. This is our rules to make us forget what you did yesterday."
The Spirit Sorceress was impressed by the red-haired student. "Oh… she's good. She got you covered, but you also have to let them have their way with the King… I like her."
A nerve mark appeared on Fonda's head. "Just so you know, this was ALL YOUR FAULT; for making me go THAT FAR – You had ANOTHER WAY to treat him, but you still forced me to do it!"
"… But you already knew the reason why.", Emi countered.
"Tch… yeah, okay. Fine, I'll keep my word for you two.", Fonda declared to the now two happy girls. "HOWEVER… I won't be responsible for you two trying to break the love bond between Jaden and Alexis. You're ONLY allowed to do so, IF they allow you to."
"Oh… we already knew that part. That's the easiest part, isn't it?", Jasmine asked her teasingly.
"I really, really… reeeally can't wait. Finally, our time has come!", Mindy declared, both girls now hugging each other happily.
Meanwhile, the nurse Fonda was just staring at the two girls, while crossing her arms. "Seriously, what will I even do with these two?"
"Why don't you ask them to maybe… have a foursome with our King?"
"You. Shut. Your. Mouth!", Fonda warned her, while Emi teasingly vanished away.
In the Obelisk Blue Headmaster's Office, Dr. Crowler was now looking at some paper files, to fill some new transferers. Atticus was in front of his table with the three Vampire siblings.
"Hum… so, Vampire Mistress, Camula. It must be a coincidence… to meet again, isn't it – no ne?", he asked to the woman who was close to Atticus.
"Indeed, it's still an unfriendly meeting between us, Professor Crowler."
"Can we just get over this? I can't get another minute get to look at this joke of a professor…", her Old Brother asked a little annoyed.
"… Mi scusi, Signore Scarlet Scourge. But moi, Vellian Crowler, am the one responsible to try place you three in this Academy. As you already know, you're not welcome here, for the fact that you're not Humans. As a Professor, I also take care of my students from you…", the good Professor tried to continue, but heard the elder Sister stomping his table.
"Just so you know… we were informed by Atticus, that it was one of your Obelisk Blue students, this Zane Truesdale, who destroyed our castle, with his power and his machinery. So… give us a favor, and make the QUICK, or we'll force you to do so!"
Dr. Crowler was really seeing the threatening look of the angry succubus Vampire, her red-eyes and sharp fangs was all that Dr. Crowler could see, before feeling all of the signing paper for new tranfer students for the three Vampire siblings.
"Vamp – Big Sis, you didn't need to go that far, you know?", Camula asked her, feeling also nervous from her sister's temper.
"It's okay, Camula.", Atticus told her, his hand over her shoulder. "If it means for us to stay this close, I can make sure you'll be fine here."
"You're right, Atti… But it still feels like we need to thank Syrus, for how he was able to stop me from losing that duel, and maybe disappear away from the Shadow Game. His older brother… it frights me to know for how much power he was holding on him…"
Scourge agreed. "Although we don't see the Old Brother as a human, we see his young brother, Syrus Truesdale, as our savior."
Vamp smiled. "Just to imagine the way how he interfered… his angry stare at his Old Brother… and make him do what he asked… he was so dreamy~."
Atticus and Camula looked at Vamp curious. "So… you have a crush on him now?"
"I should call him my plaything, perhaps… He's also my type, and has the aids needed to satisfy me…", Vamp answered them with a little blush.
Meanwhile, Dr. Crowler was looking at the four, a sweat thread leaving from his head. "Mama mia… How come have I now become a teacher of Vampires at this time and age – no ne? Next year, I might have to change my job into an Exorcist – na no ne.
It was evening, in Dark Magician Girl's room where Syrus was sleeping with her lovers in the same bed. The bluenette and the blonde sorceress standing in the center of the bed, their bodies close to each other; Socubi sleeping on the boy's chest, enjoying his closure; Val and Kelly were laid on Syrus left side, while Angie was on Dee's side.
Syrus was still sleeping… but he was having a hard time to relax his body. The thing he saw that night, that creature of destruction that was on his Big Brother's side – he was imagining once again, his days when he was younger. Back in four years ago, Syrus had challenged Zane for a duel, because he didn't want his older brother to not leave him…
But this time it was different – he was more competent of the threats that were coming to him… and so happens that Zane was as well. His Xyz Monster… a Rank 6 monster that got ranked-up by a Rank 5. He was imagining him face Zane again, and how would that end…

I was face-to-face in a duel against my older brother. On my field, there was my Dark Magician Girl, with my Field Spell Mystical Machine – Hyper Library; in my Graveyard, there was my Jet Magician, Heli Magician and Patrol Magician, who were powering up my sorceress. I only had 1 card face-down…
Syrus: 2800 LP
Dark Magician Girl (ATK: 2000 – 2900 / DEF: 1700)
On Zane's field, he only had his 2 Cyber Dragons and 1 card in his hand. He was staring at me, as he drew his card for turn, with now 2 cards in his hand…
Zane: 2000 LP
Cyber Dragons (2 x (ATK: 2100 / DEF: 1600))
"You're still looking after your 'nice' brother, even after I told you he was long gone eight years ago?", Zane asked me. "When will you learn to let it pass to you, that you can't have everything you want. Leave from this school and get lost! Nobody needs any fourth-rate duelists!"
"I told you… that my wish is to return you back to me, Zane. Because even if I hate you, I also know that this hatred comes from your 'change'. And I want to change you back to when you used to be nicer to me, Big Brother.", I told him, while gripping my fist. "Even if it takes me use my hard-boiled duelist skills to confront you, I'll make you return BACK to normal."
"And again, I'll tell you the same thing I told you four years ago… You won't defeat me, not today, not tomorrow, not the next days and years we'll confront each other! Your worries for me are what makes your wish a disappointment.", Zane held his hand to the air. "I'll use my 2 Cyber Dragons to build the Overlay Network! I Xyz Summon, my Rank 5, Cyber Dragon Nova!"
I saw with my scared eyes, just how his two machine dragons were now two orbs of light going to the abyss and appeared the more advanced metal dragon with black scales, giant wings on his back, a core on his chest. Two light orbs were floating around the dragon, to represent his 2 Xyz Materials (ATK: 2100 / DEF: 1600).
"And now, I summon my Cyber Dragon Zwei.", on Zane's field appeared a long serpent Machine, that was covered in a green electricity (ATK: 1500 / DEF: 1000). "And I'll activate his effect: By revealing you a Spell Card in my hand, I'll make his name become Cyber Dragon. And the card I'll reveal will be my Spell, Rank-Up-Magic Cyber Force!"
"Rank-Up… Magic?!", I asked in shock.
"That's right, Syrus! With this Spell Card, I'll activate it: Tributing my Cyber Dragon, to make my Cyber Dragon Nova evolve into a higher rank! RANK-UP XYZ CHANGE! Show yourself, Rank 6, Cyber Dragon Infinity!"
My eyes were now focusing on Zane's Xyz Monster becoming a huge light orb, that floated instantly to the abyss that was on the sky. It resulted with an appearance of the advanced dragon with a threatening aura around it; the golden spikes covered around its body; the helmet had four red lights for its vision. Four light orbs were around it, as he flied with his new giant wings (ATK: 2100 / DEF: 1600).
"My Rank-Up-Magic Spell Card will get transferred as Xyz Material for my Cyber Dragon Infinity. And my Cyber Dragon Infinity gains 200 ATK points for each Xyz Material it possesses; there's 4 materials in it, so my Dragon will gain 800 ATK points!", his new Xyz Monster was roaring from the power earnt with its effect (ATK: 2100 – 2900 / DEF: 1600).
"Then that means your Cyber Dragon Infinity and my Dark Magician Girl are now tied. Unless you want to clash them, you have no chance…", I wanted to continue my talk, but got interrupted.
"Instead of battling your monster, I'll instead take it. I'll activate my Infinity's effect: Once per turn, I can make your monster get attached as Material for my Cyber Dragon Infinity!", my brother explained to me, as I saw in horror my Dark Magician Girl get pushed…
"Wait… no, not like this…", I extended my hand to the blonde sorceress. "No, DEEE…"
"Darling… I'm scared…", she couldn't endure more of the Xyz Monster power, and saw my face of sorrow. "Save me, Syrus…"
And she was gone… she became another Xyz Material of Zane's Cyber Dragon Infinity, while my eyes were still staring at her leaving from my side. Without her, I couldn't fight back…
Cyber Dragon Infinity (ATK: 2900 – 3100 / DEF: 1600)
"No, no, no, no, no! You CAN'T DO THIS, ZANE!", I shouted angrily at my 'opponent'.
"Why? Are you really going to cry, now that I took your best monster? It's over for you, little brother of mine. Cyber Dragon Infinity, 'ETERNAL INFINITY BURST'!", his dragon prepared a giant electric stream from the energy that came from its core.
"I was waiting for you to do that! I play my Trap, Magic Cylinder!", I flipped my only set card on my field. "Now your attack will get negated, and you'll take your monster's Attack as damage! I WIN…"
"Or will you?", Zane asked me, as I could see the attack continue, and I saw my Trap get instantly destroyed. "… This is the end for you, Syrus!"
The Dragon released the stream, as I saw with my eyes how much was the impact of it. I screamed as I fell from the place we dueled, into a new abyss. Tears were leaving from my eyes – from seeing my love one becoming food for power, and for not get to see Zane again in that duel.
ZANE WINS THE DUEL

"ZANE!", Syrus shouts, as he woke up from his slumber. He breathed heavily, cold sweat sliding down his head. He just had a nightmare… a real bad nightmare, about his Old Brother related-by-blood. "… Shit, not this crap again."
"Darling? Is everything okay?", Dee asked her boyfriend, get to wake up from his scream. "Did you have a bad dream?"
"I also got to hear your shout, Syrus. You don't look so well with how much you're panting…", Socubi told the boy with a sad look, rubbing her tired eyes.
"We heard you call for this 'Zane' name… Do you have anything to tell us?", Val stared.
"If I remember correctly, that's your older brother's name. Has anything happened between you two?", Kelly also looked at Syrus concerned.
"I can sense some distant pain in your heart, Syrus.", Angie confessed to him. "We saw him that night, and maybe his monster gave you a bad time to sleep."
"Ah… yeah, that's exactly that, girls.", the bluenette finally admitted. "I guess this 'monster' that my Big Bro once told me before is still living inside me. But this time, it's not about feeling insecurity about myself… this is a deeper insecurity about Zane… the one who 'destroyed' me."
Dark Magician Girl looked at Syrus sadly, and quickly pulled him closer to a gentle hug. "Darling… please don't feel sad or sorrow about that. If you want to cry, please do so. It's hard to try hold on these feelings, but you don't need to hide it in front of us."
"Dee… but I'm not… weak. Neither useless… I can't cry, or else… or else…", Syrus tried to not look painful, but started sobbing and let out some tears from standing close to his girlfriend. "This is unfair… why? WHY WOULD I… HAVE TO LOOK AT ZANE… AS AN EXAMPLE OF A NIGHTMARE?! WHAT THE HELL… IS WRONG WITH ME?"
Socubi also started sobbing, looking at her lover in pain. "But Syrus, don't you see? Even if you look at this Zane as your nice old brother… you kept telling us just how much he left you alone."
Val nodded. "She's right, Syrus. You can't have pity for those who look at you like trash, and still show some concern for them. For moments like that, you have to forget them."
Kelly looked at her older sister. "But Big Sis… can't you imagine just for one instant, that maybe our nice and lovely Syrus wants his relationship with Zane to be the same as ours? That's his true intention for the very beginning, and why he kept fighting forward…"
Angie was there with a thinking look. "It sometimes comes from choosing your path of Light or Darkness. Are you willing to try get a talk with Zane about this problem you're having about him, to see if he can do something about it? Or will you keep ignoring him, and forget that he ever was your older Brother to begin with."
"W… What do you mean by that… Angie?", Syrus looked at the Fallen Angel, while Dee helped him clean some of his tears.
"Just confess to us what you really want – Why have you become this strong duelist? What makes you become happy? And what's your goal in the future, if you keep struggling on look at Zane, who is ruining your life?"
"Ah… Why have I become a strong duelist? Why, of course… that's because of Big Bro, and Dee's help. But also, you all that have been loving me the way you do; and the Magicians and Ghostricks that I have in my deck, who are my trusty friends."
"… But you also want to keep your promise with Zane, isn't it, darling?", Dee asked him, the boy look back at her and nodded.
"Ok, that's question number #1. Now… what makes you happy? The way you are right now? Or back in the past, where this Zane you've talked before was a nice guy that supported you, until the end of the tunnel?"
"The end of the tunnel? You mean… when my grandfather died.", Syrus was in thought for a minute, while Dee was letting him get relaxed by kneading his blue hair. "… back then, I was just a kid between my 8 or 9 years. Zane, he… he was the one that kept helping me how to duel well. He was my first inspiration to play the game as well as him. Watching him smile, the way how he talked so well to me, as if… I was really his little brother."
Even after saying all those words, by saying that name, Syrus was still struggling to let his tears out, for remembering his past nice side, who was still hunting him until that time.
"Sometimes… knowing about the good aspects of someone you still care, and know that someone doesn't care about you anymore… that's really fucked up.", Val admitted, while hugging his younger sister who was also sobbing.
"I couldn't really imagine you treat me bad, Val. Please keep treat me well as you do…", Kelly said so, feeling Val caress her hair.
As for Angie, as much she was trying to control herself to not sob, still held her look at Syrus. "So, you're saying that you're much better if you forget about the kindness your brother gave you? Because you're falling into a deep hole, if you keep thinking that you can have the same thoughts about your brother, and leave our kindness take you instead. It's up to you to decide what you really want."
"… I know. Which is why is really hard for me to answer that question…", the bluenette answered. "What is more important for me? A promise I told my mother, my friends… my lover – That they would get to meet my nice Old Brother Zane, and for that… I have to show him I'm better than him."
"… But do you think you're better than him? Don't you see what power he showed that night?", the Fallen Angel asked him again.
"That… That's the problem. I'm scared. I'm still scared of him… this nightmare that is still in me.", Syrus admitted, hugging back Dark Magician Girl with regret.
"Your final question will end up being the same, Syrus. You can't be happy in front of your older brother, as much as you want to see his nice side… if you're scared of this monster you're talking about. It's better if you forget him…", Angie admitted, but got interrupted.
"Wait, Angie.", Dee asked her and then looked at her lover. "Darling… what's your goal for the future, even if you're struggling to look at Zane as a good person, but is instead ruining your life?"
Syrus was looking at Dee in the eyes, asking himself why would she be the ones asking that question. But then sensed something from their earring clips, about what Dee was telling him deep inside…
He smiled for the first time. "Of course, my goal is to make my Big Bro the next King of Games. But also, start a family with Dee, Val, Kelly Socubi, Angie… and my Magicians and Ghostrick friends by my side. I also want… my Big brother back to me."
"Even if you still hate him?", Val asked him concerned.
"Even if he's making you suffer from inside, because how he looks at you?", Kelly also asked.
"I finally understood – He kept telling me all that, because he knew I was still scared of him. Even if he still says that he changed, he's STILL my Big Brother, no matter what. If it matters for me to still become the same as I am, and have you all on my back… so I can't always be scared of the 'monster' that is eating me. Because I know you're all here with me, you're saving me from this monster, and having him disappear from my body, to let me become what I really am."
Dee smiled proudly at me. "And what are you, my sweet darling~?"
"I am… Syrus-Truesdale Muto, the hard-boiled duelist, the Second-Best Slifer Red student of Duel Academy! I also am your Master, that swore to make you stronger, ever since I dueled Ebon; and also swore to duel and fight by all your side.
