I'm back for another episode, the Part II of the chapter I posted the last time. This one's a little bit longer, since I'll be going back to another talk between two distant brothers, who have two different roads to cross. What does fate will bring to them? What will Syrus know about Zane's new change? It'll all be answered in this chapter

In this period of time, I've been wondering just how has been Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel game going so far, and in my opinion, I'm not that really impressed. Like sure, I've reached Dlv MAX in this Master Cup Event, and even got Diamond I this month. I just hate that the Ban List never gets updated, people get upset over Maxx C's and Ash Blossom in the opponent's starting hands… oh well, that's not why I'm here.

Review time:

Captain Claymore:

C. 6: Either having Syrus getting Dark Magician Girl's original or a copy version of the card, it's irrelevant. I just thought about it since Yugi would still have the Dark Magician Girl on his deck, so yeah… just having Syrus get to interact with Dee is what matters here 😊. Character development, that's all I work with… either is Jaden, Syrus, Chumley, etc.

Having Jaden betting on the Egyptian God daughters was a part of the cannon, when Jaden bet the Winged Kuriboh. I know it was reckless but hey, you bite what you chew. And the way how Jaden reacted, even if it was over exaggerated, I felt like it was needed to show anger towards a past thing Jaden has been through.

Keep doing your good work on review my chapters, I'm all ears 😉.

C. 7: Yep, anime cards beat over the TCG/OCG cards sometimes, which is why I prefer the original Yu-Gi-Oh game over this Yu-Gi-Oh mess of meta and toxic decks… Konami really keeps screwing the game that we all know and love it.

I'm glad you liked my Chazz deck coming with the Union Light Machine cards. About the Egyptian God Obelisk staying in Seto's deck, that's the truth in my story – Yugi still has Slifer, Seto has Obelisk and Pegasus has Winged Dragon of Ra, no questions asked :P. The way how I also had Syrus' opponent have some weird reactions was just try be funny… I guess I went over-heels, my bad.

C. 8: Any anime deserves a Halloween special episode, am I right? And I took this idea from when Syrus, Jaden and Chumley were inside the dorm to tell scary stories, so I thought… why not having that episode happen before Halloween, for some more fun moments? And let me say it went pretty well in my opinion 😊. And Syrus' outfit being a normal skeleton, well… I could think of him becoming a Skull Servant, if it wasn't for the next chapter being Bonz playing the actual Skull Servant's archetype; so I just went the simple road :P. Like you just mentioned, my story has a lot of plot twists, compared to the original cannon version.

And that's that, I'll leave here another Chapter, where there won't be any duel. It'll happen the next chapter, and I promise that there will be a lot more surprises in store for you 😉.

Chapter 50 – Silver Paths in the Storms (Part II)

Returning back to the Human World, Syrus was now with a clearer head from his problems. He noticed closed to Dark Magician Girl, that they were back on the land closed to the lake where used to stay the Vampire Kingdom.

"Do you look ready, darling? Just don't think too much over this discussion you're about to have with Zane.", the blonde sorceress told him with an honest tone. "If you still want to keep talking more, you know I can teleport you back to my room again."

"There's no need, Dee.", the bluenette confessed, smiling at her. "I've come this far, to finally understand some of the issues that been bothering me in the past. But now, it's all coming to a head in my favour, or so I think so..."

His girlfriend of the mystic arts giggled for a little bit, and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. "I'll be a bit busy in the Hyper Library for the new improvements and modifications my students and disciples may have achieved and developed. Have a nice chat with your brother, I'll be there in a bit, alright?"

"Have a good time there, sweetie. Love you~…", Syrus waved, and saw her waving him back and leave from his sight. The boy looked at the Obelisk Blue dorm that was a little bit far away, and started walking to that direction. "… It's okay, Syrus. You can do this; you need to settle some scores…"

Reaching closer to the dorm, the bluenette could see three Obelisk Blue students walking outside. They were staring at Syrus for some seconds, until they could feel a cold aura coming from him.

"I… It's him. The kid who's been tormenting our colleagues be-before…", one of the students told to his group.

"It is also said he would be s… suspended because of the number of Obelisk Blues he's already beaten. Just who is this guy?"

"You better not mess up with him, or else he might break our teeth…", the last guy said.

Syrus kept walking to their direction, and they were still immobile in the same spot. Well… not after the bluenette stared at them with his cold eyes.

"Move away! I don't have time for you three…", he ordered them, and they just stepped away to his left to give him space. "Good, I don't have to deal with much trouble in this visit."

Syrus saw another boy walking outside of the dorm, but that one was quite familiar, since he was grouped with the three Vampires and the Assailant. The bluenette smiled, waving at the taller brownette man. "Oh, it's you Atticus. How's it going?"

"Hey, Syrus! Great to see you too!", the man walked close to him, and they shook their hands. Such a thing made the other three students gasp for the way how the Slifer Red was in nice conditions with that Obelisk Blue.

Yasmin smiled as well at the blue-haired boy. "Wonder what would bring you here to the Obelisk Blue dorm, our great friend?"

Syrus was silent for a second, and just smiled nervously. "… You two may already know about the reason why. My Big Brother lives in this dorm, and I've decided to pay him a visit…"

Atticus and Yasmin heard him mention that during that incident inside Camula's room, and the dark-blue haired colleague face was now in their mind. "Oh right, you did mention. I just didn't think you'd actually do it, since he really means business and not the good kind. Camula couldn't have a relaxing morning today; cause by good god, she got put through the wringer because of him.", Atticus admitted.

The shivering Camula nods from what Atticus said. "It was... terrifying, the way he dueled in our meeting in the castle. He was dueling like a demon, with no trace of leniency or mercy. Like a lunatic predator who just found his fix. He shown no quarter in our duel, and no anguish and pain from the Shadow Game's very nature. And the s-sheer power from his m-monsters..."

Scourge placed a hand over his little Sister's shoulder. "The long night is over, Camula. You don't need to think about that man for now, since you have protection.", the then turned his attention to Syrus. "However, I have a quick question to my blue haired friend – The supervision that the Professor Crowler warned us about wasn't so necessary, I thought we had already created a pact with the humans here, so we're now your allies, yes?"

Syrus started nervously laughing at him. "Well, you did create an alliance pact with us, but not everyone knows or need to know about that. Just keep living the usual life now here in the dorm, okay?"

He then felt some arms hugging him from behind, coming from a teasing Succubus Vampire, which he didn't notice her presence. "We meet again, my lovely boy…"

"Huh? Are you perhaps… Vampire Vamp?", Syrus asked him nervously.

"You remember me…", she smiled cheerfully at him. "That makes things easier for me. So… want to maybe forget about this talk you're going to have with your Big Brother, and maybe have a nice talk here with this Big Sister?"

'Stay focus… think, think… what can you do, Syrus?', the bluenette's mind was working in an overdrive, before an idea came to his mind. He picked his Extra Deck quickly, and saw the exact card that would help him. "In times like this, the Sakura Trees come blossom to you as well, buddy…"

"Hm? Did you say something…?", Vamp asked him, as Syrus separated away from her arms, gave him one card in surprise. "What is this?"

"Aha… just a little friend that maybe would enjoy your company. You could maybe have that nice talk with him, since he kind looks your type, right?", he asked her with a last wave and ran away. "Tell me later how did it go, I'm busy now; See ya…"

Vamp just looked at the card Syrus gave her, and got surprised. "GhostrickAlucard?"

"Who's here to call the noble name of the Ruler of the Ghostricks?", the mentioned Vampire duke made his welcome close to the Succubus, standing with his serious eyes. He then looked at the grey-haired Vampire who was now looking at him, with his card on her hands. "… Am I really still dreaming… or the sun just got brighter in front of me?"

Vamp also started blushing for the compliment that Alucard gave him. "My, my. Aren't you quite the handsome guy too? Want to know more of this Vampiress that can shine in your eyes?", she asked him with her teasing tone.

"I… Is that, a plan f-for us to get to talk alone, am I right? I'm very much a quite talker… and maybe get to walk somewhere quietly… or maybe I'll let you visit my Castle… or even…", the duke tried to find the correct words to talk to her, she was already inches close to him.

"Show me everything about you, my Ghostrick Pumpkin~. I'm quite interested on you…"

Alucard's white pallid face was showing some red color from her closure, and from how much she was teasing him. He looked to the side and coughed for his composure. Then his serious but nervous eyes stared at her again. "F... Fine, it can't be helped, since I'm in tempting comfortable clutches of a courteous... beautiful vampiress. It's my role as a Ruler and Chief, to show the lady my abode."

Vamp just hugged him, giggling from knowing where he would guide her. "Be my tour to our Love Live.", she sensed Ghostrick Alucard's cheeks getting redder, as they were now gone from presence of Atticus, Yasmin and the two Vampires.

"… They really, really so into each other.", Camula admitted.

"Vampire Vamp got her duke… how lovely~.", Yasmin smiled.

"Hmph… I feel like I'm now the one who's missing some fitting company, aren't I?", Scourge murmured to himself.

"Even in hard moments like this one, you can find love in the air, huh? I guess I'm not the only nice cupid here in the school, isn't that right… Syrus? 100 points, my good friend~.", Atticus grinned at the boy's direction, who was now walking serious inside the Obelisk Blue building.

It was an enormous building from the inside, some stairs to walk into… until he reached the next level. But before he could meet with his brother, another person was there waiting for him. And it wasn't the best person he could have a talk now.

"… Professor Crowler.", Syrus called for the professor that was in front of him, having the professor cross his arms from the bluenette presence.

"Well, well. What brings Signore Syrus to stay in my dorm – no ne?", the professor asked him.

"The next doors that are almost to your left, it seems. Isn't one of them guiding me to my Big Brother's room?"

"And why would you want to talk with Signore Zane? He looks busy right now, he has to study for the upcoming tests that he'll have in some days – na no ne…", Professor Crowler told him with his serious look.

"… Is that so? Is that the excuse you'll give to not let me talk to my Big Brother?", Syrus looked at the professor disappointed, and turned his head. "Maybe you'll come with another excuse as well to expel me for walking inside the Obelisk Blue dorm as well, since you really hate me and Big Bro that much…"

Syrus decided to walk away, as Dr. Crowler was watching him leave. But a memory from Jaden appeared on his head – back when he dueled against Belowsky.

'

"You can go ahead and show me how much you despise us, as much that we despise you too. We don't give a damn actually. Because in the end, we're not the one suffering in the consequences… it's you."

'

"Wait…", Professor Crowler called for Syrus, that was almost with his foot on the stair. "Signore Zane's room is the next room in my right – no ne. You came here because you want to see him, don't you – no ne?"

Syrus looked at him serious, and kept walking just so he was some steps close to the professor. "What made you want to tell me where is my Big Brother's room?"

"Signore Zane might have a test in some days, si. But he can also have some time to talk with his younger brother – no ne.", Professor Crowler confessed. "It's up to you now to know if you really want to walk inside that room and talk with him – na no ne…"

"… I see. Although some part of me still doesn't feel comfortable listening to you, I'll trust your words on this one, professor.", Syrus walked passed by the Obelisk Blue Headmaster. "… And I know that I want to talk with my Big Brother."

Dr. Crowler watched how the Slifer Red bluenette was staring serious at the door that would lead him to Zane's room. He saw Syrus' eyes, and how much they were looking at the door… he was really serious on the talk he was about to have with his Big Brother.

"Good luck, Signore Syrus. May we meet and talk again in another place, another time…", the professor murmured and walked away from the hallway.

Zane was meanwhile at peace, sitting on his couch while reading a book from his bookshelf. Ever since the day started, he couldn't do nothing after get his nice sleep…

Even during his reading, he couldn't help but keep thinking about that time happening inside the Vampire Mistress' room. The bluenette's serious face staring at him, grabbing his key…

'

"The Duel is over. Forfeit it once at for all, Zane!"

"Or else…"

"I'll give my Key to the Shadow Riders, and offer my soul to the Sacred Beasts. And I promise you… I'm DEAD serious about this! What's going to be, Big Brother? MY LIFE? Or theirs?"

'

"Back then… he was really willing to risk his life to save the enemy. Is that what makes him a kind duelist?", the Zane asked to himself. "… What has made him commit to such decisions?"

He heard a knock from his door, which made him answer. "The doors open… Whoever… is it."

For his surprise, the person who opened the door was no other than his little Brother he kept thinking about, who next closed the door and kept walking near him.

"Professor Crowler told me you would be here, to study for your next test. Maybe I should've come visit you in a later time…", Syrus answered him, but Zane shook his head and closed his book.

"No need. I was now just doing a break from my reading, you did well for visiting me. So please… fit yourself comfortable whenever you want to sit."

The Slifer Red just looked around the room his older Brother lived. Unlike his room, Zane's room looked bigger, as expected as his ego for the best student of the school. The walls were decorated with some paintings, a dining table, a personal bathroom; he had two beds on his room, which meant he had a roommate also living in the same room. It's not like Syrus really cared who was Zane sharing the same rooftop with…

"Must be nice to live like a noble in this room, isn't it?", Syrus asked Zane with a sarcastic tone. "It reminds me when you visited my poor looking room, and looked at it questioning how I used to live there, isn't it?"

"…", Zane got silent, trying to forget that moment that Syrus mentioned. He didn't want to remember it really well; he got to finally see Syrus sit in a couch that was in front of him, they were separated between a small table.

A period of silence went around the two Truesdale brothers, who kept looking at each other in the eyes. The Dark-Blue Haired Maladjusted Tall teen and the Bluenette Introvert Small Teen. Just how long has Syrus waited to get to see Zane in front of him… but only to get a small discussion from the tormenting old times.

"So… you look really different from the last times I've seen you, don't you?", Zane asked Syrus curious, having a clear view of him.

A scar mark showing on the right side of his forehead; Syrus was no longer using his glasses, Zane wondering how was he able to look with his serious sharp grey-eyes that used to have a gentle/afraid look; Syrus was still wearing his blue star earring clip on his right ear, a collar over his neck, resemblance that maybe he was a belonging

Syrus' small body, that once was fragile and weak, was now more muscular and agile. No wonder why Zane was able to see his little brother punch one of his colleagues in the face and make him bleed unconscious. He was really in a different level…

"I look okay, if that's the answer you've been looking for. I don't give too much attention to my own style – my mom gave me contact lens for my Christmas present. As well I've got this ear-piercing from a cherished friend, as well as my collar in my neck.", Syrus pointed out, and then looked at his body. "Let's just say I've gained motivation during the past months, which made me do some work-out on my free-days."

"You got motivated, is that your choice of words?", Zane's face showed an ironic smile, as his eyebrows quirked. "If it's what you say a fact, I don't have too much to say about it. That's not the real reason why I wanted to talk with you. I'm curious about knowing how's everything going for you, since this Vampire incident."

"Getting curious about me?", Syrus asked with his eyebrows twitching. It wasn't the first thing he was thinking his old brother would tell him. "… Recently, I've been feeling unconformable from the time I've seen you. It's like every time I see you, you're a completely different person."

"And what makes you say I'm different? I've always been the same person in my opinion…", Zane explained.

"If that's a joke I hear from your tone, I'll ask you to stop it.", Syrus told him with his serious look and crossing his arms. "You've been looking down on me each time we've seen each other, told me I didn't deserve to stay on this island… and it goes on, and on."

Zane sighed and looked at the window. "… I knew you wouldn't forget those times I've talked to you like that. The last times we've encountered each other, I wasn't in a calm state of mind… my head was really into deep thoughts about some stuff."

"And you really want me to believe on what you're just saying?", Syrus asked him again, not falling from what his older brother was saying. "Ever heard the old sentence – 'A tongue has no bones, but it has the ability to break a heart'? What you've done to me from this far cannot come with 'I'm sorry for the Blah Blah Blah' words that you'll come up with…"

"Right, I know about it. I know that you won't be giving any forgiveness from my last actions done to you. Even knowing that I've been really wrong about it, because… there's still some part of me that still cares about you, Syrus.", Zane looked at him with an odd look, one that Syrus couldn't tell how was he feeling.

"… And now it comes to me forgiving the words that I can't forget, huh? Too much kindness a young brother can show…", Syrus placed a hand over his face with an ironic grin over his face. "Let's change the topic then, because I also have my own questions."

"I'm fine with that… What do you want to know?", Zane asked curious.

"That flying machine dragon, the one you summoned to leave from Camula's room.", Syrus pointed out. "You were able to make it become real, by placing the card on your duel disk… which means you know about Monster Spirits being real, don't you?"

Zane smirked from that question. "Then, I'm not the only one, aren't I? You're also able to summon these monsters from your disk at your free will as well? As expected from you, Syrus…"

Syrus decided to interrupt what Zane was about to tell him. "I'm interested to know WHO was the one responsible to make a Neuro Link with you. Me and Jaden have been very subtle about this topic for nobody else to find out, so how come have you known so far?"

"Why Syrus, that's the easiest part. It comes from the dad's company, which I've been an accomplice.", Zane explained to him. "He knows now about everything that has been happening in recent, and even past events. One that can also be mentioned… 1 month and half ago, when YOU created the Synchro Summon."

The bluenette felt chills over Zane's answer. "H… How did you… What does dad know about it? Where the heck is he, and what's he been doing behind Mom and I's back?!"

"Ehehe… nothing, specifically. Only working with a group of researchers that tried to come with scientific and logic explanations about what seemed to be the Kaiba Corporation's Most Dangerous and Catastrophic explosion of Domino City. It wouldn't be just a coincidence that just the explosion getting stopped would be at same time… for you to get your hands on a Tuner and a Synchro Monster, on your duel against Ryuga, would it?", Zane asked him with his challenging look.

Syrus was getting nervous. He told back a month and 2 weeks ago, on the interview from the paparazzi, that he got his hands of the two cards, thanks to Seto and Mokuba Kaiba. It was supposed to be a lie, for his own sake – he didn't want to deal with this popularity and/or fame from finding a new summoning mechanic, so Syrus decided to give the credit to Seto instead.

After some moments of thinking, Syrus looked again at Zane. "So, what IF I did create the Synchro Monster? What proves do you have that I would get to just make it over a duel?"

Zane simply just laughed at him, and showed him his black card from his deck. "The same way, how I got my hands of my Cyber Dragon Infinity, my dear brother. It comes from the power of trust, the power that makes you believe the card that you really want, and the Spirits will guide you for it. Tell me, what made you really want to have your Synchro Monster?"

Syrus remembered back when he was in Seto's basement, the same day after his duel against Jaden. He got met with Ai, his ghost form, who explained that he was the one who absorbed the Infinite Energy from the Corporation's capsule. Transferring that same Ener-D energy to his own capsule that had a now better way to absorb the energy thanks to the Power Bond upgrade, Ai also pointed out how he was able to make Gear Magician the Key Tuner for the Mistress of Magicians.

"I have my own reasons for why I got OjouSa-Magician Girl. She's the one who guides my friends to a path of Hope and Happiness. That's the path I used to believe for a long time, even if took me to hurt those who dared to stand in my way…", Syrus explained. "It was hard to believe for me to have this monster in my hands, since I've been tormented with too much baggage in my past… one of them being me not be able to see my grandpa again. My Power Bond Spell Card is no longer with me, Zane. Are you happy with that answer?"

"… You've been growing up, and that's what matters to me. But me… I think I've been falling into a deep void lately.", Zane admitted. "I've been looking lately on the duels you've been having in the past… the one you had against Jaden, and how you lost against him."

"Ahh, how nice for you to point out the duel where I lost against my Big Bro. Must've been a disappointment for you, to see your nice caring younger brother losing that duel for my own reputation, wasn't it?", Syrus laughed at his own question.

"You lost on purpose, Syrus.", Zane looked at him serious in the eyes; Syrus did the same thing, it could be seen an anxious air pressure coming between them. "The Duality of Fusion, The Sheer Power of Synchro, and then the Faith of Xyz – You've tinkered with all three summoning arts in that duel, you had the prince on the edge of his rope… and yet you let him reign victorious. Why did you make that decision?"

"'Out of something you desire but you can't see' – You can figure it out, can you? What do you know, or even care for me winning or losing a duel? Where were you, to watch that duel happening? I wonder who were you supporting in the duel, Jaden and I had this promise between us? My side of the promise was to not leave from his side. I got stronger to honor my promise to fight on Big Bro's side as an equal." Syrus spoke calmly.

"You duel… to fight for Jaden's sake?", Zane asked confused.

"Exactly, Zane! You should already know where does this kindness of mine comes out! I owe so much to Big Bro's family for what they did for me. You should know who they are – They're the goofiest yet most wholesome family built by bonds, not blood. The ones who helped me be the person I always dreamed I could be!"

Syrus thought about calling the Spirits, but he could sense them due their Neuro Link, the ironclad proof of their bond standing behind the door in the room waiting anxiously to step in if needed.

Syrus felt this talk needed to be done on his own, to truly move forward with his life and maybe save someone along the way. "Zane Big Brother... the only few things we have in common now is the monstrous amount of growth in dueling ability we've had since encountering Jaden. But the difference is – Who's on your side when you break completely?"

"And what do you mean by that?", Zane asked.

"By the fact that I've already been broken tons of times, Zane.", Syrus admitted. "I've been acting more like an Edge Lord lately; I've been doing stuff that I never thought I was even capable of and the results are ones I can't really argue with – They look at me like a threat and back off."

The way how Zane could tell that Syrus was saying the truth, it was from the shadow getting showed on the bluenette's face, his imp smile never leaving from his lips, how he kept remembering those good old times…

"… It felt strangely exciting to do that to a bully and get seen like one; I had a hand in having an Obelisk Blue Student expelled. Even now, I feel their screaming and shouting in my head and it feels nice…", he confessed with some inner laughs. But then he changed his composure to a serious look at Zane. "But now asking an important question – 'Why am I still here?' And I can't really form an argument against it. But you know what? It doesn't matter cause those feelings are irrelevant. Cause I have people who appreciate me for me and pull me back from going down a dark path and will still love me. Even if I become you, they will pull me back."

"And where am I included on that logic?", Zane asked again.

"You still don't get it, do you? Who has been on your side, after the mistakes you've been through? That's IF you still think you call those mistakes.", Syrus pointed out. "… Is it daddy? The one who kept looking at you with his proud smile, telling you how awesome you are, for being the best student of the Academy? Has he been giving you the good boy pats in the head, or even those parental hugs to show how proud he is from you?"

"… You don't know what you're saying, Syrus.", Zane told him, his tone was getting sour. "I've found out lately… that all dad's been looking for was just power. It didn't matter how healthy I was, he didn't care about my grades at all. He went through researches with his team, he wanted to get a new level of evolution – And that's where you come, Syrus. Dad wants to expand more of the Synchro Summoning that you created, as well the Xyz Summoning that has come to the Human World."

Syrus started feeling bored from that topic. "… So what? Does daddy dearest want something now from me, just because I'm a new founder of something he wants? What does make me want to get close to him anyways, since I can tell he's a threat to me? Apparently… he's the one who changed you, made mum cry, and would come up in using me."

"It's not as easy as you think.", Zane pointed out. "Our father can go straight forward to some deals if he can. If there's something I've earnt from his genes is the urge – He won't give up until he gets his hands on what he wants; no matter if he gets it the easy or the hard way, Syrus. You've become a target for him, and if I were you, you should leave from this Academy. I can try come with some solutions for that matter, and help you from not getting caught by father's hands."

"… And like I told you, Zane – I. Don't. Trust. You!", Syrus told him with his angry look. "You, helping me? What have I even done to you, to deserve some help? It looks ironic, isn't it? You left me all alone in agony with my mum, and now you try change all that with some helping features. Your intention comes from one sentence you just said – 'Me leaving the island'!"

Zane looked to the side, from guessing that Syrus would tell him that. "I'm just doing this from your good, you have to trust me. I know that I can't return back to the past to amend my mistakes… but you really have to trust me on this one, Syrus. I know you can just listen to me, maybe my words will all be ignored from how I'm saying all this, but here's this thing I must say it now…"

"And what is it?", Syrus asked impatient.

"That I'm proud of you, Syrus. You've become a more independent person, a brother I've always wanted to have. You've grown to a strong and powerful duelist, and I couldn't say less from my little brother."

Syrus was out of words. Zane really said that… he just confessed out of loud, admitted that he was proud of him. He really expected Syrus to be happy about that, but…

"Will you keep telling jokes to see if I can laugh? Well… you succeeded.", Syrus started showing some inner laughter, while his hands were strangling on the couch from the nerves he was showing. "Eheheh… you're really funny, Zane. You, being proud? Of me? When? What have I done to be somebody you should be proud of? Maybe you should also tell mum that you only left from an eight-year vacation to see her again, I'm sure she would laugh as well…"

"I really mean it, Sy. Please… understand me…", Zane's eyes were lowering from seeing Syrus getting up from the couch.

"I'm done with this, Zane. I know already everything, okay? That's all PITY! You're not showing your true colors – You're still with a hunger of vengeance for Jaden from beating you, so you want to get a rematch against him. Well, guess what… you WON'T have it.", Syrus declared. "If you want to get pass through the King, you'll have to face ME, the Rook! I'm sure you know about this Chess strategy."

"Castling, yes I know…", Zane said so, also getting up from his seat. "But I'm not giving up on what we have between us. Even if it takes me to cross a road of hell to gain your trust back, I'll gladly accept. What we had is gone and I accept your scorn. It's the least I deserve, we can make something better from the wreckage it just won't be the same."

"You're right. What you did broke something irreplaceable, but I want to give a chance for peace for everyone, including you. If you really want to change, you have quite the path ahead of you." Syrus told him with a hidden smile.

His older brother looked at him with a challenging smile. "I'll gladly accept it, whenever it takes for you accepting me."

Syrus nodded, and left the room as he closed the door.

What he saw on the hallway made him return back his nice innocent smile on his face. Dee, the Valkyrian sisters, Socubi and Angie were all waiting for him, as he thought it was about time to leave the dorm.

"How did it go, darling?", Dark Magician Girl asked.

The bluenette challenging smiled at her. "It could've gone wrong, but I kept my control. I feel better now with all you close to me, however I really want to see now my Big Bro. Have any idea where he is?"

"From what we know about it, Yubel informed us he had to take a shower from standing on the bed for two days.", Val answered.

"We don't know if he's still there, but from the time you've been talking with your brother, he probably left to return back to the dorm. Or maybe he just went have his date with his girlfriend, who knows…", Kelly guessed.

"Speaking of which…", Socubi heard that word and felt some excitement for thinking about her summoner. "Could you maybe… you know, have a save time to get a date with…"

"No!", Angie spanked the succubus head. "As you can see, Syrus has better things to do, and apparently… we've forgotten something REALLY important."

"And what is it, if I can ask it?", Syrus asked anxious. Ghostrick Angel of Mischief walked close to the boy, her face was making him fall tears of sweat…

"… Where's Marcus?"

Ten seconds passed, until Syrus got to remember that. Wasn't he in care of miss Fonda, to take care of Jaden? But if Jaden left the room, was miss Fonda still there? What if she wasn't, and she had forgotten? What was more important to him right now?

"SHIT, SHIT, SHIT and SHIT! WHAT AM I DOING HERE?", the bluenette asked while running down the stair with his wide-open eyes, as he could see the Marcus face right now in his mind, crying and painless from lonesome, or not get anything to eat, neither healthcare. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?"

"Syrus, wait for us…", his lovers asked him, as they all left the Obelisk Blue dorm with him.

Zane looked one last time to his young brother, while looking at his deck on the desk. He picked it, and could show a sad look on it…

"I'm sorry, Syrus. But on these Cyber Dragons of mine, the light they all share is marked with the same darkness I sense in you and myself. After all, you're not the only one dealing with nightmares." He then chuckled to himself. "Let's see where my little brother's path to strength leads. And I'll be there to stop you from what you want, Father."

– END OF CHAPTER 50 –

At the same night that Zane defeated Camula in the Shadow Game, some dark clouds were spreading over the Main Campus of the Duel Academy Island. In Chancellor Sheppard's office, the headmaster was looking at the window, while seeing the Flying Machine Dragon from his Special Student

"Zane, what have you done? You shouldn't have stayed between the Key Keepers and the Shadow Riders.", Sheppard then saw the visor close to him turning on, flashing a mysterious person being connected with wires and a breathing mask.

"What a disappointment… Having someone to stand in between our business, when you have your Key Keepers to face my Shadow Riders, isn't it? You should be ashamed as a Headmaster of this school. Since you've called for some reinforcements, I think it's MY turn to act for your errands…", the man told him over the visor, turning itself off after the call.

"Great…", Sheppard murmured to himself, looking again at the window. "What now will the Academy have to get through this duel's business?"
