Rick Grimes tries to navigate life as he faces changes in his home and professional life. Will he live a storybook ending with Michonne or have regrets over leaving his family? Rick was bone tired. He was heading to his cell without showering tonight, even if the opportunity would have been perfect. Nowadays, the showers were rarely empty, and he would be sure to find them lacking of curious people at this hour of the night. That was why he was so surprised when he approached his cell quietly to see that he wasn't going to be alone in the small space.

Daryl never really let himself be caught off guard. Which was why, the first time it happened, Paul didn't know what to do.

They were on a run with Rick and Maggie when it happened. Daryl knew that Paul was a little shit, but he actually never thought that Paul would be /such/ a little shit. "Paul" he whispered, swallowing back a moan "Paul, stop, we can't..." "Come on baby, please?"

The conversation starts like any other one, with Rick and Daryl being away on a run just the two of them, like before. Before Alexandria, before the Kingdom, before Hilltop and the war with Negan. Sometimes, they just need to find themselves alone with each other again, and no one questions that. So they go on run for a couple of days, together, and they talk.

From the very beginning of their relationship, Paul had been very respectful of the fact that Daryl was a virgin and he had never really asked Daryl to bottom. Not once, since the older man had told him during their first time that he wasn't comfortable enough for this. Yet, now, Daryl wanted to.

Daryl could not believe this. First of all, he wanted to kick himself. Preferably in the face. Secondly, he needed to calm down, like, minutes ago. Right next to him, he could feel Rick shaking with laughter, and the hunter wanted to smash his best friend's head against the cold floor of the Barrington House.

Behind closed doors, many things could happen. Yet, people's tendency to judge morals and habits did not disturb the two married men on the third floor's apartment, falling asleep blissfully in each other's arms.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, Daryl ends up in the middle of a bar fight, and gets stabbed in the process. Really, it had all started as a very, very bad day. But eventually, it turns out to be quite alright when he meets Paul, his assigned nurse, and his (very) big blue eyes. But then... it isn't socially acceptable to ask someone you barely met to marry you, right?

The group stops in a lonely subdivision after a long day of travel and Rick sends Darly and Robyne out to scavenge. (Oneshot)
