I was SUPER pissed off by the ending of Coda, okay? Killing Beth, a character who had the potential to fill in the comic-Andrea role in the show, and who Daryl needs most in the world? Killing Dawn, a perfect female villain for the show? Beth STUPIDLY trying to kill Dawn with SCISSORS? Just... UGH. So, I'm writing what I would have done if I had my say. I hope you enjoy my rage.

How long does it take Daryl to realise he needs Beth as much as she needs him? There's more to the Daryl and Beth friendship than we see- through Daryl's eyes we'll see the (made-up) missing moments between the end of season 3 to the current show. It will be a slow-burn Bethyl but dont be put off, it appeals to any lover of their freindship as well.

ZA AU. In the five years that follow the walker outbreak, much of civilization is destroyed by the infection. Survivors live in heavily gauged safezones, and nomadic groups. One survivor, Daryl Dixon works as a smuggler for both the army and the rebel group known as the Fireflies. He is given the task to escort a young blonde woman out of the city who just may be the key the cure.

He wants to believe that she has gone to a better place. He wants to believe, but he can't. Because instead of being up there, she is with him down on earth, haunting his every step, refusing to let him give in to the darkness even though he desperately wants to. (Alternatively: Five times Daryl "saw" Beth after her "death", and the one time he finally, really did.)

After losing Daryl, Merle seems to have gotten himself a little sister. Or maybe this not-so-little girl had gotten him. Either way, this would make surviving the apocalypse a little harder.
