Rose Weasley knew she could come a little too strong sometimes; as her mother would put it: "she was intense". Well, she liked things a certain way, her way, and didn't mind fighting for such outcomes, and when that was not the case she could get very frustrated and, depending on the situation, be an ass about it.
She knew it was a flaw and she was working on it, now she was much better, thank you very much.
In her dating life, that personality trait has always been a bad omen. Her relationships tended to be short, just a few months, and loud, with fights she didn't always remember the cause to begin with. If the guy didn't dump her after the normal time, she then tries to understand if his feelings were sincere and deep (they never were) and ended the relationship on the spot to soften the heartbreak.
Because it always came with a hard heartbreak since she didn't know how to stay emotionally distant from nothing in her life. The hardest one being from her relationship with Mr. Perfect, the one and only, Scorpius Malfoy.
Being with him was heavenly, he was her opposite: elegant and unruffled. He agreed without much thought with her way and always seemed happy with her choices, spontaneity and messiness.
However he had a minor flaw, he could be very distant and It was really hard for Rose to understand him at all, she was uncertain if he really liked her or if it was just a fling. So, she ended things as usual with the heaviest heart she had ever held, she didn't leave her flat willingly for days just crying.
However, a while later he barged in her house demanding, in a respectful way, another chance. She was beyond surprised and happily accepted him, now she was certain he at least fancied her, she was in heavens again.
But nearly a year later the irracional fights started, and she was completely clueless as to why that was happening and how to turn things around. She was fearful for what that meant.
This particular morning started smoothly. She had slept in his house, woken up just fine, showered first and, as he went to the bathroom, started looking for the clothes she had in his flat already with an outfit in mind.
"Blondie, where is my yellow tank top?"
"Not a clue."
"I left it right here in the drawer."
"If you left there, then it must be there."
"Except that it isn't."
"I don't know what you want from me, I didn't put my hands on it" he said, getting out of the bathroom already dressed "Do you want to check if I'm not using it under my shirt?" He said a little annoyed putting his hands on his shirt buttons.
"No need" Rode rolled her eyes, "I was hoping to use that today, though."
"You must have misplaced it, just…"
"I didn't misplaced it, it was here, I'm certain of it"
"Well, something is not right." Scorpius closed his arms in his chest "I don't remember hiding or using yellow tank tops. We could maybe use a spell to…"
"Just forget it, alright?" Rose spat angrily.
"Are you really mad about this?" He asked with a little humor that just enraged her more.
She knew she was about to shout at him, so to avoid that she quickly got the first other shirt that she found and stormed off saying she had to work.
Rose was infuriated, and she was not sure exactly why. A lost piece of clothing should not have made her so mad. The past weeks they seemed to always get under each other's skins. And she knew that the problem was with her, Scorpius couldn't start a fight for his life. Her guy was so laid back that sometimes she had to look and check if he was still breathing.
Maybe it was PMS? It could be, but she has never had mood swings this bad before.
Furthermore, maybe it was the stress itself. Moving around between his home and her home and also with their jobs in the middle, both of them were exhausted.
But that thought would have to be held for later since she had arrived at her job and saw the pile of files that were on her desk. The day would be long and boring, just what she needed (free irony here).
Rose was a monitoring agent at the Transport Department of the London Ministry, she dealt with a bunch of companies that offered magical transportation products and services to make sure that everything was in compliance with Ministry guidelines.
And the work was just as boring as it sounds, at least that was the case of the moments where she had only to deal with paperwork. The fun of the job happened when she traveled around to inspect the companies on site and tested the products.
That in fact was how she reconnected with Scorpius. Yes, the job was not all that bad.
Well, the day passed as slowly and dully as she expected, but she was glad that in the end her pile of paperwork was significantly smaller. Feeling accomplished, she said her goodbyes and went directly to the floo line to get home.
Once at her house, Rose took a long bath, the best part of the day so far. The water seemed to take away all the burdens of the day, leaving her light and relaxed.
However that feeling didn't last long because when she got out and opened her wardrobe to get her pajamas, she found the tank top she was looking for in the morning.
Rose started crying.
She was crying because of how injust she was to Scorpius in the morning, because of how stupid was the little fight she started. Scorpius was right, she had just misplaced it and she almost shouted to his face.
Then Rose stopped to think what was happening and made up her mind: she was definitely getting absolutely mental. Why was she crying for something so minor? If the situation didn't need a fight to start, why would it need a cry from her about it now? She was being ridiculous, she needed a doctor at once.
Taking deep breaths, she was able to control herself, then she put on her pajamas and washed her face again to get rid of the dry tears.
She was going to her bed when she heard something outside her room. She quickly grabbed her wand and opened her door a little to see what was happening. Scorpius was there, with a bag of pastries from her favorite shop in his hand.
"Blondie! You gave me a fright!" She opened the door at once and rushed out to greet him.
"Hello, sorry, I came to apologize for the morning, I wasn't very nice" he said with a small apologetic smile "I brought a peace offering, vanilla cookies with chocolate drops."
"You are perfect!" She said happy, accepting the package and kissing him on the lips. "Even though, I'm the one to blame after all. I found the tank top here, I'm sorry for getting angry" she said mirroring his smile.
"It's ok, I know you are exhausted because of the end of the accounting year."
"As you also are." she said, and then ate one of her cookies.
"For me it is just one company, you have plenty" he dismissed.
"Yeah, you are right." She said feeling really tired and throwing herself on the sofa, Scorpius followed her and sat by her side.
"And also this coming and going from my apartment to yours, things there, things here."
"I hear you." She agreed.
"And that's a problem we can manage."
"What are you saying?" She asked after finishing another cookie.
"Well, we can move in together" he said looking at her like it was the logical thing to do.
Rose widened her eyes, thinking a million things about the proposal. They were dating for almost a year now, more if she counted the first six months before he finally asked her to be his girlfriend. She surely was in love with and really couldn't see a future without that man.
If they were to move together now, maybe there would be a stress at the beginning between finding a good house and furnishing it, but besides that she only saw good things coming from this next step in their relationship.
"I thought It would be easier for…" he was defending his idea while she was thinking.
"I love it!" Rose was sure that her smile could not be bigger. "It would be perfect!"
"Really?" He asked surprised.
"Of course I do, why?"
"I had prepared a list of pros and cons, talked to Albus to help me get you on-board…" he said and them his shoulders fell "All for nothing."
"Oh, don't be sad I ruined your argumentation, Blondie," she said. "Here, take a cookie."
Scorpius accepted the cookie but was still a little grumpy that he didn't get to use his plan. Rose rolled her eyes, got the last cookie and with her clean hand took his head on her lap to pass her fingers gently through his hair.
"Already finished with the cookies, you are hungry tonight, aren't you?"
"I can eat, I'm stressed."
"Of course you can."
And they stayed quietly for a while, enjoying each other's company and caring. Scorpius had closed his eyes enjoying what she was doing and Rose smiled looking at him, and then, she noticed he was still wearing his work clothes and shook her head negatively.
"I will never understand how you can stay with these clothes for so long." She complained and started gently taking off his tie.
"I told you that it doesn't bother me that much," he smiled.
Rose started to undo some of his buttons and realized he was wearing a yellow tank top underneath his shirt.
"What is this?"
"What is what?" He asked, pulling up his head a little to see what she was talking about. "Oh, yeah, I bought this shirt to ease the mood if needed."
Rose looked up don't believing her eyes and ears and laughed cheerfully.
"You really are perfect, my perfect Scorpius."
She pulled his face up a little more and kissed him. The kiss was perfect, it tasted like her favorite cookies and her favorite guy.
The end of the abnormal amount of work she had to do finally arrived and Rose felt that she finally could breathe again. But that didn't last long as she and Scorpius soon started to look for houses they could move in together. It had to be larger then the ones they were at the moment and preferably in a magic neighborhood. It took a while, but they found the perfect apartment.
It was a little old, but had been recently renewed. It had two floors, three bedrooms and 4,5 bathrooms. Having a large family, Rose thought the extra rooms and bathrooms would be perfect to accommodate anyone who might want to crash in their place (a situation that occurred more times that she thought it would). It also had an attic of good measure with a large window with a view for the city skyline of buildings where they could build up another living space like a gaming room.
It was a little pricey at first, but Scorpius managed to get a good deal using his negotiating skills learned from his work to Rose's surprise and amusement.
And after closing the deal, the furnishing problem began. Rose wanted Scorpius to participate in the decoration, but she hardly ever liked what he was choosing so he just pushed the responsibility back to her and she just got pissed again that he was not participating. A vicious cycle.
And in that situation the only one who could help her was his best friend, who was also her best friend and cousin, the one and only Albus Potter.
"3 bedrooms, nice!" Albus nodded, grabbing another bite of his sandwich.
"After everything that I told you, that is what you picked up?" Rose was already rethinking her choice.
"Easy Rose, you know I'm joking."
"This is not something to joke about, it's serious." Rose said, annoyed.
"Since when is there something on earth not to joke about?" He asked, raising an eyebrow "Who are you and what have you done to my Rosie?"
"I'm sorry Albus, you're right, that's not that serious" Rose sighed, "It just seems that I'm always on edge these past days." She seemed tired and ordered another doughnut.
"Rose, go easy, that's the fourth one you will get. You always stop on the second."
"I'm stressed and I'm paying, if I want another one I'll get another one!"
"Ok, ok, I'm sorry I said something."
"And don't worry, I'm going with Scorp on his swimming classes now, I'll burn all these marvelous pastries." She assured him.
"I'm not talking about that, but as your personal Healer I know how this sugar can be bad." Rose rolled her eyes, "And is he still doing that? Merlin, the merpeople were rough."
"They still are, that's the challenge of it." Rose smiled. "But moving back to what I brought you here about, what do I do?"
"About you fighting poor Scorp over the sheet's color?"
"Yes Al, about these ridiculous fights. How can I make him see that..."
"It's just the way you are, Rosie, as father says, bossy as your mother and…"
"And short tempered as my father. Ha-Ha, very funny, but I need real answers Al. I don't want to keep fighting with him, I know this just leads to resentment and then a break up, I don't want to break up with him, we just bought the house, It would be hell and…"
Albus interrupted her that was on the eminence of crying by putting his hand over hers and looking her in the eyes.
"Rose, take a deep breath" and they breathed together "This is not you, when we had to share a room at The Burrow, you couldn't care less if my curtains were orange or purple. You learned to control your temper, now you always choose to talk things through. So my question is, what is really the problem?"
"I don't know, Al," Rose said sadly. "Lately I can't control my temper anymore. Every little thing annoys me to the bones and I just snap" she looked at Albus in horror, "Am I going backwards? Will I just be a Rage Monster again?"
"Ok, calm yourself down, you are not going backwards and you never were a rage monster, you know it was just a stupid nickname to torment you" Albus said, putting a hand on her shoulder trying to pass comfort. "Wait, are you crying?"
"No," Rose said, but her choked voice gave her away.
"Ok, something is really not alright with you," Albus stated, leading to Rose becoming more anxious "You're an emotional mess, you're eating more than you're used to… Wait!"
Rose looked at his cousin, Albus stopped talking for a moment and Rose almost could hear the gears in his head turning, his face becoming more puzzled every moment.
"Rose, what I'm gonna ask you now is completely intimate and weird for me to talk about, but hear me out, ok? Remember I'm also a Healer, your Healer."
"You're scaring me."
"Just don't hex me, please?" He asked and took a deep breath, "How is your womanly cycle?" Rose looked at him clueless "Your last period came when it was supposed to?"
She frowned trying to understand the point he was trying to make, it took her a moment, but finally she widened her eyes in shock and Albus let out a satisfied sigh seeing that she understood his hypothesis.
"That can't be." She gasped.
"It really can't, though?"
"We were so careful."
"It only takes one time."
"You're not helping."
"Of course I am, I just helped you find out what is wrong. Or right. Your call."
"I can't believe it! It just can't be true." She said while shaking her head, she noticed that the doughnut was half eaten in her hands and dropped it on her plate like it was infected. "You, use some charm in me to find out if that's the case!"
"I can't do that, there's no charm for that, just a potion."
"Well, give me that then."
"I don't walk around with a case of potions at my disposal"
"Why are you a Healer for then?"
"Rose!" Albus was laughing at her anxiousness.
"Where can I get some?"
"There's an apothecary on Diagon Alley, we can…"
"No, what if Scorpius spotted us there? Too risky!"
"It's not uncommon for us to hang around, also he'll have to know someday, you know?"
"Is there any other place?" She ignored him.
"Well, we have some at Mungus, but…"
"Perfect, let's get going then."
"I'm not working today, I can't just simply…"
"Albus, you have to help me. It was you that came with this absurd idea, now it's your moral obligation to help me see this through."
"You are a pain, you know that?"
"Yeah, yeah, let's cry about it later."
They paid their bill at the Cafe and headed out to the hospital where Albus worked. Rose wouldn't admit, but she was scared, her heart was beating faster at each moment and she almost couldn't breathe.
Good that Albus was guiding her, because she almost didn't know where she was going and what was happening.
Once in the hospital, Albus led her through the building stealthily to an empty room and exited to get the potion. He was gone for 5 minutes, but it seemed like a lifetime for her when she thought about everything.
She and Scorpius had just moved in together, the relationship was great, but a little strained because of the fighting and it had just a little more than a year. Were they ready for a step like that?
She was sure that something like that would just scare him away for good. He took long enough to ask her to be his girlfriend (and he almost didn't), he never said he even loved her and even their moving in together seemed more like a practical decision than an emotional one.
What would she do? Did she even…
"There, I got it" Albus barged in with flushed cheeks like he had to run around the building "Poly didn't want to hand it to me thinking I would use it in some mischievous way, but how would I do that? It's a simple potion to know if you are pregnant or…"
"How is it done?" Rose interrupted him, there was no trace of amusement in her voice.
Albus' heart sank, he had never seen his cousin like that. He approached her slowly trying to get her gaze so he could send a comfortable smile.
"Rose, everything will be alright. I'll be here with you no matter what, ok?" Rose just nodded, making Albus more preoccupied, "Ok, lay down for me, will you?" And Rose laid on the stretcher she was sitting on. "Can you lift your shirt a little?" She did as asked. "It will be a little cold, ok?"
And he poured the flask content on her belly, it indeed was a little cold. She felt the crystal liquid move around her abdomen for a bit and then nothing.
"So?"
"Look at it yourself."
He asked and Rose lifted her head up to see. On her belly there was a thin layer of liquid all around, but instead of the translucent color, it was greenish.
"What does it means?" She asked in a whisper.
"Green means yes." He said softly.
Rose was in shock, paralyzed. A million thoughts crossed through her mind without she being able to really process any one of them.
Now she understood it all, she really was crazy, and not because she was going bullocks, but because there was something on her body messing around with her hormones.
Gosh, there was something growing inside her, she couldn't even wrap her head around that.
What was she going to do? Did she want to have children? Yes. But did she want them now? No, not by a chance, she didn't feel ready to be a mother at all.
"Rosie, what are you thinking?" Albus asked carefully.
Rose looked at him with an emotionless face.
"I don't know, I really don't know what I'm thinking." She answered and got off the stretcher and started pacing.
"I can't believe this is happening, what will I do, Al?" She asked with watered eyes.
"Oh, Rosie," he said, pulling her in a caring hug.
Albus felt her sobbs and tightened the embrace murmuring comforting words. He had never seen Rose like that, completely lost and unsure. She was always the one with the answers and actions, she was as solid as a rock.
Some moments passed where Rose slowly got calmer, she started understanding her situation and making peace with it. So there was someone growing inside her, what was she going to do about it?
She couldn't imagine herself terminating it so one thing was for sure, she was going to see this pregnancy trough. The only point to settle was if she was going to keep the baby, probably yes, and how Scorpius was going to react.
And to think of him, oh poor guy. She was sure she was giving him a little hell and now this, she would not be surprised if he ran away as soon as she brought up the news.
Who was she kidding? He was a perfect gentleman, he would be a perfect father and would ask her to marry him because that ought to be the right thing to do.
However she didn't want a proposal out of duty. She wanted to be asked because he wished to spend all the rest of his life with her, she wanted him to ask because he loved her, was mad about her. Well, like she was about him.
But Scoupius was really reserved, he agreed with almost everything she said and she never knew if that was because he in fact agreed or if it was just because he didn't care or didn't want to cause friction.
What Scorpius wanted or felt was a mystery and Rose thought of it as one of his charms. And she couldn't handle a false proposal out of duty, so if he asked her after she broke the news, she wouldn't accept because she couldn't know if that was motivated by how he felt. She would say no even if her heart screamed for her to say yes.
Unfortunately she would have to let him go, again.
"Better now?" Albus asked carefully, noticing she stopped crying.
"Yes, thank you" she nodded and they parted ways.
"Don't mention." He smiled a little.
"I'm sorry that you got in the middle of my messy self, it.."
"Don't!" Albus interrupted her "I'm deep into your mess, as you are in mine. That's just the way things are between us."
"You're gonna make me cry again."
"It is not I who will do it." He says looking at her belly.
"Ah yes, the creature," she said, putting her hands on her abdomen.
"Don't say it like that!" Albus shook his head with a small laugh.
"Well, they will be mine, no? I can call as I like it."
"So you're going to keep them?"
"Granny would hex my ass off otherwise" She said with a small smile.
"Brilliant!" Albus' smile grew.
"I can't believe you were the first to notice it."
"What can I say? I'm the best friend AND Healer ever!"
Rose rolled her eyes and adjusted her shirt and while doing that she looked at the spilled green liquid on the floor "Pregnant, me? Who would have thought?"
"You'll be the best mum, Rosie, you'll see. And Scorpius…"
"He's going to be the most lenient father."
"Indeed he will." Albus agreed laughing "And now I still have to say but one thing: congratulations to the new mommy to be" Albus smiled at her hugging his cousin again.
Two weeks had passed where Rose couldn't face Scorpius directly. The fights stopped because she was too preoccupied with her big news to care to much to anything else.
Therefore the house got furnished without more ado and both were satisfied, Rose sometimes just wandered around it to imagine how their lives would have been. Rose was a little melancholic about the subject because she knew that the moment she turned his proposal down after her announcement, their fairy tale would be over and they would be just acquaintances with a child.
She lost count of how many times she cried about that ‐ Devious child, just like the father (who was she kidding? Just like herself) -, but she had to tell him soon before he found out by himself or by Albus.
The perfect opportunity appeared when he invited her to an intimate dinner with just the two of them in the house to celebrate it.
The dinner went fine, Rose let herself act like nothing was happening and she was just a woman that loved the gorgeous blonde in front of her and was loved at the same rate in return.
Afterwards they went to the living room where he laid on the sofa and she laid on top of him in between his legs. He was passing his hands onto her hair providing one of the best feelings she ever experienced, so cozy, so them.
They talked about nothing in particular and Rose got more nervous by the minute knowing what she had to unwrap.
"That's funny" she responded without really listening to what he said.
"My father thinking about a new branch is funny?" He asked, becoming a little stiff and stopping his hands.
"Oh, I'm sorry Scorp, I'm just distracted today" she said hoping to stay a little longer at that moment.
"Not just today" he murmured, slightly annoyed.
"What is that supposed to mean?" She asked getting up, the moment was broken.
"What do you think it is supposed to mean?" He asked getting up as well.
"If you want to say something, just go ahead!" She said, closing her arms and thinking that if he breaks things off it might be easier to say what she had to.
"What? No…" He stuttered nervously as well "We weren't supposed to be fighting, not after everything, not tonight…"
"I'm sorry if I'm not what you expected me to be, I wish I was better for you," Rose said knowing the line was uncalled for, but she was so frustrated with herself, with that situation, with everything. She turned around not wanting for him to see her crying.
"Rose, I don't expect you to be nothing but what you are."
Sometimes it made her sick of how perfect that man was. Oh well, she knew that from day one so now she'd have to deal with it.
"And I don't want to fight anymore, but mostly I don't want to be ignored by you anymore, it makes me really miserable."
Rose felt her heart sink for a moment, she had not been fair with him for a while now and he didn't deserve any of that. Well maybe a little, it was his seed that made this creature that was messing around with her head after all.
She should really stop using that term "creature".
"... you can paint the house pink, that is not an issue for me, all I care is you, therefore…" Scorpius was still saying his perfect apology, sometimes it annoyed her that he apologized for things he didn't have to.
"Scorpius, I have to say something," Rose said, gathering all the courage she could.
"No, please let me finish." He asked, she sighed.
It was now or never.
"I'm pregnant." she finally said, turning around.
"Will you marry me?" He said on his knee.
They both look confused to one another.
"What did you say?" Rose asked.
"What did YOU say?" Scorpius replied with the same question, getting up.
They looked at each other a little longer trying to understand what was happening.
"Are you really pregnant?"
"Are you really asking for my hand?"
"I thought the ring was proof enough" he pointed out and just now she realized that he was indeed holding a little box with one of the most stunning rings she had ever seen.
Rose was taken aback, speechless, she looked from Scorpius to the ring totally surprised. One thing was being proposed out of duty, another was being asked because he wanted to. And she never thought about this second scenery, Scorpius really got her there.
On these occasions she understood a little more why her mother always said she was her father's daughter when the topic was feelings, she was really clueless of his intentions.
"I know it's sudden, I mean, it's only been a year and we just moved together, but I can't see my life without you, so I thought better sooner than later, right?"
And the nervousness was back, those moments were so rare that Rose always got surprised that Scorpius was able to get uneasy at all. But she was too befuddled to enjoy his state.
"But if you think it's too soon or do not want it, I'll understand," He said sadly, pulling his arms to put the ring away.
"Oh no, you don't" she said stopping his hands with hers "That's mine now."
Yes, Rose also could only see her future with him in it, other options were cloudy, not really real. Minutes before, she was prepared to see him as her child's dad, however now she could see how silly she was being. Of course he would do something to woo her over to marry him eventually, even if she thought that was from duty. She loved him, she was in his hands and if he was saying that he wanted her forever in his life as well, she shouldn't let him think again of how bad a decision that was for him.
"Really?"
"Of course, you are the one for me, Blondie, and if you still want me after how insufferable I've been, I can't let you think twice" she smiled now knowing that to be true.
"Brilliant!" He said happy pulling her to a light kiss, both of them smiling broadly. "And you're not that bad."
"You're a cutie, but I know I've been awful" she said smiling, "But in my defense, that's not entirely my fault."
And then remembered what she said before and looked at her belly and her face again. "And are you really pregnant?"
She could see he was hopeful and nervous, it seemed he was not against the idea, she released her breath relieved.
"Either that or I have a very strange kind of a growing virus in my stomach." she joked, both with tears in their eyes.
"Hope this virus has your face." He said placing a hand on her cheek tenderly.
"Hope this virus has your ass." She said, wrapping her arms around his waist and giving a little squeeze on his left buttock.
"Rose!"
"What? That's good genetics right there!"
"You drive me totally crazy!" He said laughing and getting her left hand from him to put the ring on it "And I'll make sure that you continue to do so, forever."
"I may be a lot to handle forever" she said looking enchanted to the ring on her finger and then back at him "We both in fact." she said putting a hand on her belly.
"I guess we'll see about that."
"I'm sure we will."
Then she wrapped her hands around Scorpius neck and Scorpius placed his on the small of her back.
They kissed slowly, savoring the moment and each other in a bliss that now both were certain that would last for years to come.
They decided to push the wedding date to after the baby's arrival so they could deal with one stressful and wonderful thing at a time. And after that moment, things were really better between them, her hormones were still all over the place, but both got better in dealing with them: Rose goes to another room when she notices that things are escalating to calm herself down and Scorpius always has pastries around to ease her out.
They quickly fell into a comfortable routine and both couldn't be happier with the new steps they were taking on the relationship even if for their families things seemed rushed.
However, Rose was still Rose, and on that particular Wednesday she felt compelled to have lunch with her fiancé. And she was amazed by how a 5 month pregnancy belly could take her anywhere, she was enjoying every little bit of that situation, like extending a lunch break to stay a little longer with Scorpius.
"Maybe Mario? After all, Mary was the one who made sure we got together." He suggested.
"Oh yes, the mysterious cupid."
"She is not mysterious, you just have yet to meet properly."
"Besides that, the name does not align with your family's tradition"
"My family tradition? Do you want to follow that?"
"If it is indeed true that the wizards are up there guiding and all of that, I won't let my baby be left out"
"Rose, that's ridiculous."
"I'm telling you, my baby will outshine everyone up there. And if to do so, they have to get a silly name, so be it."
"You can't be serious," Scorpius said, already laughing.
"I'm totally serious, so you better find a good name from up there" she said pointing up to the sky.
"That's why I love you, you know?"
Rose got shocked, that was the first time he had said these full words to her, she even thought he was not able to do that. But there he was, with warm eyes and a pleasant smile saying the three little words.
"What is it?" He frowned a little.
"Nothing, just thinking shenanigans."
"About the Blacks up there?" He asked smirking, "Don't waste a moment on them, this little Malfoy guy will shut them up and indeed outshine them all."
Scorpius wrapped his hands even more tightly bringing her even closer and kissed the top of her head. Rose always felt at home in his arms, that was one of their perfect moments.
"And who said that this creature will be a he?" She asked making circles on his arm over her swollen belly.
"Even when we agree on a name, you will still call them creature, mark my words" Scorpius laughed a little"And by our family history, it's most likely to be a boy. Doesn't your father have 5 older brothers?"
"That's true, but I'm still his oldest child."
"Well, a girl born Malfoy is something we didn't get in generations."
"Didn't we just agree that this baby will be marvelous and rule-breaking?"
"Well, yes, but…" he started without really having a good point to make "Ok, she will shut my ancestors up and outshine everyone"
"Better."
"I swear to you, Rose, if you get my hopes up for a girl and in the end we get a boy…"
"What will you do then?"
"Obviously you're going to receive a beautiful 'told you so' chocolate cake."
"But I prefer vanilla."
"I know, that's the punishment."
"You are the devil in disguise," she joked and he laughed again.
"It's nice here, but I have to get back to work," Scorpius said, looking at his watch.
"Too soon," Rose complained.
"It's been almost two hours, I have 50 minutes of lunch break. Just as you do."
"I've said to them that I would be with a client."
"Rose, I'm not your client anymore. I've already talked to the new Ministry supervisor."
"An old client, whatever." Rose dismissed.
"You're impossible."
"Just five more minutes." She asked, closing her eyes in his embrace.
"I have a meeting."
"Tell your boss that you'll need those minutes if he wants to see his grandchild."
"Don't use the baby on your blackmailing, please" Scorpius chuckled.
"Then why is this baby for?"
"Crazy, you'll drive me totally nuts."
"Don't worry, Blondie, I'll take care of you in your madness."
"You better do."
