Academy classroom :-
" For the next hour we will be going over everything that happened in your class last year, and then I will start with history, which is very important ", Iruka said as he began a review of last year.
An hour later, Naruto was wondering why the hell he had even bothered to come to class.
Naruto had thought about just skipping the academy, as he had studied the second year academy books, and there was nothing in that, that he couldn't learn on his own. According to him, the only thing important in that book was the information on the twelve basic handsigns, and their uses in various types of jutsu. But that was something he could learn on his own, and he didn't trust that prick Iruka to not sabotage him. He would learn on his own, and then he would ask Tsunade san to correct him if he was making any mistakes. There were also some basic Taijutsu katas, but that was something Naruto wanted to learn from Tsunade, so that he didn't pick up any bad habits, by learning any wrong stances and katas.
Finally he had decided to stay for a day and then see if there was any use in coming to the academy, but so far he couldn't see any use in it. He had been spending the past hour with leaves on the tips of his fingers, trying to make them rotate using chakra. It was an improvised chakra control exercise that he could do during the class, instead of wasting time like everyone else was doing.
Naruto wondered what the hell use was there in teaching all this useless crap to future shinobi. Most of which was propaganda. Because while Konoha was definitely much better than any other shinobi village, they were still shinobi and not saints. The Academy was looking more like an indoctrination camp than a training center.
Deciding that his best option was to get himself kicked out of the class, Naruto placed his head on the desk and pretended to sleep, and it wasn't long before Iruka kicked him out of the class for sleeping in the class, even though many others were also sleeping. But Naruto had gotten what he wanted, so he didn't bother protesting and immediately scrammed so that he could get on with his own training.
But he decided to attend the academy on days when Taijutsu and Bukijutsu classes were present, so that he could get some sparring practice.
One and a half Month Later :-
"That was excellent brat. You have perfected the basic chakra control exercises. " Tsunade said.
" Thanks sensei! ", Naruto said, as he beamed at the praise.
"We can proceed to the next set of chakra control exercises, which will be comparatively easier for you to accomplish than the basic ones, as you don't need to use such miniscule amounts of chakra".
" From tomorrow you can start on Tree Walking, where you use only your legs to stick tot he tree using chakra and walk up and down the tree trunk. Consider it mastered, if you can stay do your academy Taijutsu Katas on the tree trunk for one hour continuously. Use a kunai to mark your progress ".
" As you say, sensei. "
" And while I am not happy with you skipping the academy to train by yourself, it seems that you were right to come to me to instruct you about the basic katas for the academy Taijutsu. As the instructor for Taijutsu, Mizuki, was definitely trying to sabotage you. And you are already well beyond even the third year curriculum of the academy in the theoretical subjects ", Tsunade said.
" Sensei, the academy Taijutsu style doesn't feel right to me. It feels too stiff and it doesn't suit me ", Naruto said, while he was practising the academy Taijutsu for a month now, he had never been too comfortable with it. He hoped that Tsunade had a solution for him.
" Well, you are more suitable for a flexible and evasive style of Taijutsu, focussed on using superior speed and flexibility to evade the blows and using sharp and lethal counterattacks to swiftly deal with the enemy, and it is also more suitable for your young age, as it will be a long time before you can match your enemies in strength, due to your age, however much you train. It will take some extreme weight training for you to match older opponents in strength ".
" You are perfectly suited to learn the Senju style of Taijutsu, which is more of a loose collection of different Taijutsu moves, you can use depending on the situation. You flow around your enemies blows and then strike back using the appropriate move depending on the situation. It is unpredictable and suits you. It was created by my Great Uncle, the Nidaime Hokage. It is not a strictly rigid style of Taijutsu like the Goken, as it is much more flexible. He created it to specifically counter the predictably function of the Sharingan. I will teach you the basic Katas, and I want you to practice them till the movements are engraved into your muscles", Tsunade said.
" But don't use it during Academy spars, as someone may complain about you using the Senju style of Taijutsu ", she instructed, making Naruto nod his head.
" We will begin from tomorrow, get her early in the morning ", Tsunade said, as she left the training ground.
As Tsunade left the training ground, Naruto reflected on the past month and a half of his training and he was pleased.
While he was a little frustrated that it had taken him a lot more time than expected to master the various variations of the leaf sticking exercise, he knew that they were very important, so he kept at it and had finally mastered them. And now he could move on to Tree walking and Water walking, which were a must learn for any genin.
Naruto had also raided the academy storeroom for any old textbooks, and managed to get his hands on a set of old wartime academy textbooks and they were a goldmine as they had clear instructions on how to perform all the three basic academy jutsu. And Naruto had already perfected the Henge, which was the easiest among the three, and he was currently working on perfecting the Kawarimi jutsu. Then he would work on learning the basic illusionary Bunshin jutsu. Then he could work on mastering all the three jutsu to his satisfaction, which was managing to use them both seallessly and smokelessly. Then he would work on using Kawarimi with smaller and smaller objects till he managed to replace himself with air pockets. Kawarimi was a very useful jutsu which he intended to master to its full extent.
There were also two basic D rank Genjutsu, the Hell Viewing Genjutsu and the False surroundings Genjutsu.
And there were even a basic jutsu belonging to all the five basic elements.
1. The Great Fireball Jutsu
2. Water Bullet Jutsu
3. Earth Wall Jutsu
4. Lightning Bolt Jutsu
5. Gale Palm Jutsu
Naruto was determined to learn all these jutsu, atleast to a degree where they were battle ready, even if he hasn't perfected them. Then he could work on basic elemental manipulation in the next year.
Naruto had to admit that the wartime curriculum was much more demanding than the useless curriculum currently being followed by the academy. A graduating genin would have to learn atleast one elemental jutsu, in order to graduate from the academy. And Naruto wanted to learn atleast one jutsu from each element, before he graduated. Then he would work on specialising in his affinity. But he planned to complete the elemental manipulation for all the elements, but he knew that it would take many years before he managed to do that. He wanted to atleast complete the elemental manipulation for atleast his elemental affinity, before graduation. He planned to graduate from the academy after another year, as he didn't want to spend any more time than necessary in that time waste factory. And it was a fact that he could apply to graduate early, if he felt that he was ready for it. He didn't need the permission of the academy sensei for it.
His speed and strength had also increased considerably. And his Bukijutsu had also improved to the point that he hit ten out of ten bullseye with his right hand and five out of ten with his left hand. And his Calligraphy had also increased by leaps and bounds.
And while he had lost quite a lot of Taijutsu matches in the academy, mainly to Sasuke and Hiruko, he had also defeated them a few times, but overall he got valuable experience. And even his losses were mainly because he was using the Academy Taijutsu style, which he was not at all comfortable with.
And his sensory ability had also improved quite a bit. Though Naruto was currently not focussing on improving his sensory range, but was instead working on being able to sense how the chakra was being molded when using a jutsu using handsigns. So that he could imitate that chakra flow without the need for handsigns, letting him use sealless jutsu. It was a slow process. But Naruto was sure that in two to three months he would have managed to use a sealless Henge and a sealless Kawarimi, even if they were slow in execution and wasted some chakra. But that would improve with better chakra control and more practice. He was also working on increasing the speed of his handsign usage. As it could be crucial in battle.
Two Months Later :-
Naruto was desperately trying to dodge the rubber balls being continuously thrown at him, as he tried to sway out of the way while running up and down a tree while also having a few leaves stuck to his body using chakra. He had been doing this for nearly an hour, and he was quickly becoming exhausted. But that was the same result as whenever he trained with Tsunade, who was a very harsh taskmaster when she was training him. And she had a clone of hers assist Naruto in training both his Chakra control, evasion and skills and Taijutsu as well, while she worked in the hospital, so that no one would miss her and accuse her of favoritism for training Naruto whom she had no relation with as far as most everyone was concerned with.
When the alarm clock rang indicating the one hour mark, when Naruto flipped of the trunk of the tree and sighed in relief when Tsunade stopped trying to pelt him with rubber balls.
" What happened brat, already tired ", the Tsunade clone asked in a fake mocking tone.
" Sensei, I appreciate your help. But you are a slave master! " Naruto exclaimed in exhaustion as he collapsed on the ground to catch his breath for a few minutes.
" Don't worry brat, you have finally mastered Tree walking to my standard. And you already have the basic water walking down. Now you can work on water skating and the same variations of water walking as you did for tree walking and also walking and fighting on turbulent water, and then we can move on to more advanced chakra control exercises like kunai and Senbon balancing and kunai and Senbon spinning exercises. But that is atleast a month and a half away, so you can rest for a while, and then another clone of mine will spar with you on the water surface", the clone said, as she popped away.
Naruto was more than pleased with his progress over the last two months. He had learned the basic Bunshin jutsu. And had managed to perform both the Henge and the Kawarimi seallessly, though he was working on reducing the time needed to execute the jutsu. Then he would work on a sealless Bunshin jutsu and then he would work on making them smokeless.
All in all he would have it all down in another three months at most, and then he would work on elemental jutsu.
His sensory ability was also improving well, which was the reason for which he had been able to use the sealless jutsu. But he could only sense the manipulation of chakra by a shinobi and how it was being done if it was used very slowly, but Naruto knew that it would improve with time and experience. His range had also increased to 200 m.
