CHAPTER 3

The weeks went on as Hermione came to terms with having both her adoptive parents, her biological mother and her aunt being around. She found a quiet courtyard that looked over the snow covered grounds of the school. "Miss Granger?" A voice from behind her made her jump and turn around.

"Professor Dumbledore." Hermione greeted with a pleasant smile. "Is everything alright, sir?"

Albus smiled with a twinkle in his eye with a slight nod. "I overheard an interesting fight between the founders portraits last night and I was wondering if you could help me figure it out."

Hermione farrowed her brows for a moment before giving a quick yet sharp nod. "What did you hear, Professor?"

"Godric was arguing with Salazar again, I heard Salazar mention something about Godric fathering a child that wasn't born in their time." The Headmaster explained clearly confused by the situation.

"Sir, I don't mean to be rude, but I would suggest you ask Godric or Salazar yourself… It is not my place to tell secrets that are not mine to share." She told him before leaving him in the courtyard to find her mother. Luckily she ran into her in the Transfiguration corridor. "Professor!" She called softly causing the older witch to stop and face her. "May I speak to you, I feel it is urgent." Hermione stated pointing towards the classroom that was no doubt empty as the other students wouldn't be back until tomorrow.

Minerva watched her daughter for a moment before nodding and taking her into the empty class room and locking the door behind them. "Sweetheart, what is this about?" She asked softly placing her hands on Hermione's shoulders, all signs of the woman being anything other than a mother were left at the door.

Hermione took a deep breath and looked at the floor. "Albus overheard father and Salazar fighting last night and Sal mentioned that father had a child in a different era." She explained softly not knowing what it would mean for her family. "He found me in a courtyard and asked me about it, I told him to ask the founders." She sighed hoping her mother wouldn't be mad at her.

The older witch hated how nosey Albus was when he found out a piece of information and using it to his own advantage. "You did the right thing, sweetheart. Albus will push but even though he is headmaster, Godric won't tell him without our permission." She reassured before pulling the girl into a hug. "Whatever happens we will be together." She promised hoping she could make it through a third war for her child.
