Eddie and you made your way down the stairs, giggling to yourselves as he chased after you.
You were both exhausted, beyond exhausted actually but it was well worth it to make love to Eddie Munson all night.
You both round the corner, trying to run as you come to a complete halt. Causing Eddie to run into you, seeing Dustin, Max, Steve and Robin all seated in the kitchen.. their eyes burning holes through both you and Eddie but no words spoken.
The gang all looked equally exhausted with bags under each of their eyes, disheveled hair and zombie like expressions over their faces.
Eddies lips press against the crown of your head as he taps your shoulders lightly, entering the kitchen awkwardly as you rummage through the pantry for cereal .. or anything to distract from the silent tension that lays over the room.
You spot Eddie out of the corner of your eye, twisting his hair then hitting his fist against his palm as he walks around like he just saw the promise land. If this was his way of being discreet, he sucked at it.
"Um, cereal is on.. the table." Robin speaks slowly, breaking the long, drawn out silence. "Right," you spin around, a painful - forced smile on your face. Taking the box off the table and grabbing a bowl from the cabinet,
Steve clears his throat dramatically "So uh.." his spoon swirls around his bowl "Eventful night," Dustin adds matter of factly.
"Alright I can't take it anymore," Eddie cracks "Yes we had sex .. fucked? Made love?" He struggled to find the right word "whichever one will get me in less trouble," he holds his hands up as he looks at you, the words spewing out of his mouth faster than you could calculate.
"Good news is, neither of us are dying a virgin." He grinned with arms crossed, proud but stupid. You back hand his arm so fast with a glare of death that he looks down at you like a kid who just had his favourite toy taken away.
"Oh we know," Max's brows raise, eyes following the drama unfolding. "Yeah we heard.. we heard a lot," Dustin zones out in terror, as if he was reliving it painfully.
You bring your spoon to your mouth, trying to cover how flush your cheeks are "Something about Eddie and his big.." Steve starts, physically cringing as the mouthful of honey nut Cheerios spews out of your mouth.
Eddie covers his mouth to hide his grin as Dustin stands up "We heard all of it, all night." His voice went a higher pitch "We heard you," Dustin points at you as you shrink in place "But mostly you." Dustin points at Eddie accusingly.
Eddie pulls his bandana out of his back pocket, whipping Dustins arm with it "Why were you listening you sicko?" Eddie teases "We tried not to," Robin speaks quietly, eyes glued to her bowl.
"Wait.. what is that?" You notice multiple papers coloured, in front of Max "It was from.. when Vecna was in my head." She speaks slowly, eyes shooting up at you then back down to the pictures she drew.
"Isn't that.." you trail off, rounding the table so you're behind Max and have a better view of what she drew "Isn't that the window from that creepy house we stopped at the other week?" Your finger touches the drawing,
The two of you begin piecing it together, all the drawings coming together to form a house.. the house you had seen something in, the house max was having nightmares of "That's Victor Creels house - Henry's house" Robin analyzes the drawings herself.
"Well, I guess we know where we are going next." Steve says, leaning back in his chair.
"Now that they're gone," Eddie spins around, setting his sights on you "Slow your roll, love. We are actually sleeping this time," you give warning with your eyes,
"Yeah sure, if that's what we are calling it," Eddie chuckles to himself, smacking your ass as you head up the stairs for some actual rest.. if you'll get any.
After the others get back from the Creel house with not much new information, you all sit out back to decompress. "So is it as creepy on the inside as it is the outside?" You ask, leaning back on the deck with the palm of your hands. "Creepier actually," max gives a small laugh
"hey guys.." Dustin sound is weary as he looks at you all over his shoulder "Either my compass is broken or.." he trails off, beginning to walk along the forest line "No, no.. it's spot on.." he's vague, cryptic as he speaks.
Everyone joins him to look at his compass "it's going a little haywire, so what?" Steve brows furrowed in confusion "Or.. there's a gate somewhere." Dustin points his finger upwards in thought.
The six of you follow the forest line as you reach lovers lake, the night sky playing tricks on your eyes as you look at the calm waves rippling in the water.
"Well Fred did die by here.. and If gates open up where there was an attack.." Robin trails off in thought "Hey, where are you going?" Dustin scoffs as he watches You, Eddie, Robin and Steve head for a boat that's docked nearby
"You guys keep watch," Steve yells back to Max and Dustin as Dustin throws his arms up in the air "You got to be kidding me," Dustin nearly storms the four of you "Easy there, Henderson." Eddie quips.
The four of you climb into the boat as Dustin hands you his back pack "Five minutes. Tops." Max looks at you all sternly. "Yes mom," you retort as Steve starts pushing the paddle in the water.
"It should be right about here," Robin squints at the compass in the dark. Eddie empties out Dustin's bag, finding a plastic bag and wrapping a flashlight in it before taking out his smoke pack.
Robin narrows her eyes at him "Hey, it's stressful times." He reasons as he brings the lighter up to his cigarette "Guess I'm going in," Steve stands up, the boat swaying with every movement.
"What?!" You ask like he's insane "I don't see anyone else with lifeguard training," he quips, tugging off his shirt and throwing it in the boat. You advert yourself eyes as Eddie clears his throat loudly.
Eddie hands Steve the flashlight that's wrapped in a bag, "I'll be quick," Steve promises before diving in.
It felt like hours were going by, you peer over the side of the boat as Steve's head breaks though the waters surface.
The jump scare sending you backwards over the boat, hearing the muffled screams from above.
You could feel the water swish and sway above as you scrambled to swim back up, getting closer and closer and seeing a hand at the top reaching out for you. You grab onto it and keep hold of it as best as you can.
You gasp loudly as you try to catch your breath, head emerging from the water. Realizing it's Eddie's hand you're holding on to "Thanks babe," you let out a deep breath, Steve's head rising from the water beside you.
"Again," you jump, annoyed as he laughs sheepishly. Suddenly he goes under them comes back up, he looks around confused "Not funny," he looks over at you "It wasn't me," you state in confusion as you watch the waves around you.
Steve's head goes under again, arms flaliling as he's pulled down by something but this time he doesn't come back up. You scream out for him, moving your hand through the water "Y/N.. don't.." Eddie looks you dead in the eyes "I have to," you apologize.
Submerging yourself back in the water, you watch as Eddie jumps in after you and then Robin. Swimming your way into the depths of lovers lake.
An oddly shaped patch at the bottom of the lake opens up, glowing a deep shade of red and looking similar to previous gates. You can no longer see Eddie or Robin above you as you go through the glowing gate.
Coughing and squirming around like a fish out of water, you watch Eddie and Robin roll in after you. You look around, the Hawkins you once knew now turned upside down in a hellish alternate world.
"That's got to be the stupidest thing you've ever done!" Eddie dusts himself off his voice seething in anger as Robins head whips around trying to find Steve "You might want to save that trophy," you warn Eddie.
You spot Steve being strangled by the demobats, the whole hell world being covered in vines that if you stepped on.. would almost guarantee your death so the three of you had to be extra careful.
Robin begins beating the bat with the wooden oar, Eddie with a stray piece of wood in hand as the impact of the wood against the bats sends them flying. There's so many curse words being spewed left and right you no longer know who is saying what.
You step on the bat whose tail is wrapped around Steve's neck as Eddie and Robin give it one good whack in sync, it finally releases the hold it had on Steve's neck and flies off.
"What the fuck was that?!" Eddie yelled so loud that you were sure he'd fry his vocal chords, throwing down his piece of wood in bewilderment "We warned you," Robin merely said as you help Steve to his feet.
"Yeah never better," he mutters, looking down at himself "Do you think.. these bats have rabies because rabies is like one of my biggest fears and by the time the symptoms set in.. you're dead," Robins frantic as she speaks, almost talking at hyper speed.
You all share a glance before hearing screeching off in the distance. Trying to focus your eyes on the horizon of the other world, you see tiny black dots come into view "This world fucking blows," Eddie groans.
He takes your hand in his as the tiny dots get closer and bigger, it was the largest swarm of bats you'd ever seen in your life and not regular bats either.. larger, much more vicious, much more deadly and almost prehistoric like.
You look behind you at the dense forest as few bats start to swarm the glowing gate "The woods, come on!" You yell as Eddie holds onto your hand for dear life and the three of you run to the forest.
"Here," Eddie shrugs off his vest, handing it to Steve like it was a piece offering. "Thanks man," Steve says, sliding it over his shoulders. "Does this mean I'm an outcast now too," Steve teases "I wouldn't go that far," Eddie laughs.
"Is that a friendship I smell brewing?" Robin calls out as you and her trail behind Steve and Eddie, both guys shooting looks at you and Robin over their shoulders.
"Well I think.. it's about time," Robin whispers to you as you guys walk, you away your head left and right "I'm sure this morning didn't land any soft blows, well.. last night I should say." You laugh at the thought, but the embarrassment washes over you again.
"I don't get why guys have to go all macho versus macho, what girl is really into that?" Robin huffs in thought, "it always seems to come down to that, doesn't it?" You let out chuckle.
"I think one of his issues is.." Robins arms say as she walks "Well after graduation, then what?" She asks quietly, not wanting the boys to over hear as you raise a brow "What do you mean?" You question,
"We are all off to college, university or leaving town." She lists the multiple paths before everyone "He knows that you and Eddie are like," She pauses to show her pointer finger wrapped around her index finger "This is really the last year we all have together before everything changes," Her own voice filled with sadness.
"Hey, you know.. no matter what happens. We will always keep in touch, all of us." You try to insist as she hangs her head to the side "It won't be the same," a small smile takes her face.
You come to a house in the clearing of the woods "Great, leave one world and come back to it in another." You pinch the bridge of your nose as your house stands before you.
"Do you have your dads hunting stuff still? It's not much but might help," Steve turns around, walking backwards as he talks. You nod slowly "Yeah, they're in a crawl space."
"Woah, Easy there, big boy." Eddie catches Steve by the arm as he almost falls backwards over one of the many vines taking over the forest. You and Robin share a laugh, rolling your eyes.
Entering your house slowly, you see the ruins it is in. Something straight out of a nightmare but somehow much worse. Covered in vines and decay, you thought the real thing was bad but this.. this was shocking.
"Wait.." you eyes narrow in confusion "This isn't my house," all the furniture that had acquired over the past few years no where to be found "Yes it is, 241 Osborne Way.. Been here plenty of times, babe." Eddie talks as if you've lost it.
"I mean this is before we moved in," you give him a dead pan look "Which means no hunting gear," Steve bows his head, hands on his hips. "Maybe there's something.. anything," Robin suggests, refusing to lose hope.
You and Steve take the lower level while Eddie and Robin search the upper level. It was completely empty, it now looked truly abandoned. "Do you hear that?" Steve perks up, following an unknown sound as you shake your head no.
You follow behind him as you enter back into the kitchen "It's Henderson!" He exclaims in joy, "I can hear him.. faintly.." he looks around at the walls as you start to hear Dustin and Max yourself.
"Dustin you little shit head, quit messing with us." Steve laughs almost manically as Robin and Eddie come down the stairs "Are we sure he doesn't have rabies?" She stops at the landing, "I hear them too," you whisper as you tap your ear.
"Didn't Will communicate by lights when he was here?" You ask, "Wait.. Will was stuck here, alone? Man, I don't give him enough credit," Eddie crosses his arms as Steve nods
"Maybe we can then," you give a shrug as you try the light switches which do absolutely nothing "Uh.. guys, is it normal for lights to glow here?" Eddie's voice sounds worried,
You all follow him into the living room to see the chandelier lights flickering "Does anybody know Morse code?" Robin looks around at the three of you, "Wait does.. SOS count.. is that.." Eddie trails off, unsure as the three of you nod "Guess all the D campaigns does pay off," He grins.
Eddie brings his hand up to the light, tapping the particles in a rhythmic way. "It's working," Steve grins as the light gets brighter.
"Now let's hope they can figure out just exactly what that means," Robin extends her neck to look at the group. "If there is a gate here, near where Fred died. Wouldn't there be one by Eddie's too?" You can almost see a light bulb go off above Steve's head.
"For once, Good Job.. Steven." You grin like a child as you pat his back.
"When is this nightmare going to end," Eddie complains as the group has to sneak around like ninjas, luckily the trailer park was a straight path through the woods in front of your house.. just walking through the creepy forest with red lightning, screeching demonic bats and deadly vines was not something any of you enjoyed.
Eddie jiggles the door of his trailer "She's a bit finicky," he looks back apologetically as he finally gets it open, falling inside as he opens his arms out wide "Welcome to the Munson mansion," he jokes.
"I swear it's a bit more put together in the other world, our world?" He looks around, unsure what to call it at this point.
The four of you look up to see another gate, this one much more dark and mysterious. No glowing red lights to be seen. "So.. I guess now we wait," Robin looks up at the gate, betting our lives on Dustin and Max.
"Heavy metal comics?" Steve's brows raise in intrigue, picking up one of the many comics from a stack of them on Eddie's dresser "Yeah uh.. not your thing. Trust me." He rips the comic book out of Steve's hands quickly, eyes darting to you as you hide your laugh.
Your eye catches on a box under Eddie's bed, it's covered in stickers of metal bands. Wasp, Motley Crüe, Iron Maiden and on the side it has a makeshift lock.
You've been in his room a thousand times and have never seen it before.
While the others are busy in the living room of the trailer, you manage to get the box open. Opening it up slowly and preparing yourself for porno mags or some typical male treasures that they'd lock away.
Instead it's filled with memories, yours and Eddie's memories before you ever became official.
You and Eddie had been getting closer over a year and a half span when finally he asked you out, you thought it would never happen and then it did.
You guys were practically together anyways months before actually being together, but it was always touch and go. You weren't sure if he was serious about you.. he was kind of hard to read.
At some points you thought he may even just want to stay friends, if only you had known how deeply he cared, how secretly sentimental he was.
Of course it wasn't always smooth sailing, there were arguments.. plenty of them. There was even a few break ups and 'breaks', but you wouldn't trade any of it for the world.
You barely have time to look through it as you hear Dustin's voice echo through out the trailer, you close up the box and slide it back under Eddie's bed.
"Y/N.." Robin pops her head in, "We got a plan," she grins.
Eddie grabs his mattress off of his bed and puts it down on the living room floor, the gate on the ceiling above. You watch as Dustin drops a mattress down on his side too, well.. your world.
"Those stains are.." Eddie purses his lips as you give him a stern look to be quiet "I don't know what those stains are," he lies, his bottom lip curling inwards.
"Okay ready?" Dustin asks as you all nod, watching as a makeshift rope is thrown through the gate, "Thank god," you whisper.
Robin climbs up first, dropping back into the normal Hawkins. Steve goes next, then you and then Eddie. It was such a surreal feeling, like one of the craziest roller coasters you'd ever experienced as you fell back into your own world. Having a moment of vertigo from being flipped upside down, literally.
Eddie goes around praising everything in his trailer, cooing at inanimate objects "I've never loved this trailer more," he gushes.
"Don't get too comfy," Max speaks quietly "Now we have to come up with an actual plan, not a suicidal one." Dustin adds.
