Chapter Two: Spock's Wife
Spock and Anna woke up the next morning. Spock woke up and looked next to him. "I remember now," he thought when he saw Anna in his bed. Spock got up from bed and put his Vulcan trousers on. He made his way to the replicator. "Spice tea," he said. A few seconds later, there was a cup piping hot of spice tea.
About an hour later, Anna woke up. She put on her bathrobe and went into the kitchen. Anna kissed Spock on his cheek. "Plummeek tea," she said. Anna sat down next to Spock. She knew that his pomFarr was starting. She could tell just by the fire in his eyes. "Yes, Spock, it is happening to me too," Anna said.
Spock put his tea down. He walked up to his wife and held out his hand. She took it. The two of them walked silently into their bedroom. Spock took off her robe, and he took off his trousers. "Anna, I will always care for and love you," Spock said. He kissed her a deep kiss. The two of them laid down on the bed and made love again. After the two of them were done, Spock looked into his wife's dark eyes, "You were brilliant" Spock said.
"Excuse me," Anna said.
"When Lt. Savvik challenged you, on the Enterprise. She was not expecting you to take off your shawel." Spock told her as he was holding his wife.
"Right, I remember that day, She came up to me and challenged me, because she was raised on Vulcan and I was not. I remember, going into the gym and Captain Kirk, and Bones was there with you. She came right up to me, and I was faster, I stepped to the side, and then behind her. I did the Vulcan Paralyzing grip on her right shoulder. Took off my shawl and said, I may have been raised on Earth, but I am also Vulcan. I paralyzed her, then put my shawl back on my head and left the gym. a lot of people don't really understand why my father does the things he does. I don't understand him either most of the time. It was funny though seeing Lt. Savvik's face dropped open when I revealed that I was Vulcan" Anna said. She fell asleep in Spock's arms.
"Her, face was not the only one to drop, Captain Kirk, and Dr. McCoy's face dropped as well" Spock said
For the next week, Spock and Anna stayed in their apartment. The night before the Enterprise was scheduled to arrive to pick them up, Spock and Anna went outside. The two of them were going to have dinner with Spock's father and Anna's mother.
Everyone was eating and enjoying their meal, which was Pok Tar. During dinner, Sarek brought up a very interesting subject. " One of our science vessels found a wormhole, and it looks like it is stable. We are starting to work with Starfleet on building a space station near the wormhole," Sarek said. He hoped Spock and Anna would run the station once it was done.
"Ambassador Sarek, I heard that Vulcan women on Vulcan were getting sick, that they were growing infertile?" Anna asked his father-in-law.
"They are getting sick, yes, but we found that it is only for Vulcan women that have been here for many years. You are safe, Anna. You have not been here long enough for it to affect you yet," Sarek said to reassure her.
After dinner, Spock and Anna went back to their apartment. "Spock, your father, looked a little pale today," Anna said to her husband.
"Yes, he did. I noticed it too," Spock said.
He got up and kissed his wife. "Let's go to bed. The Enterprise will be coming to get us tomorrow," Spock told her. Spock held his wife as they drifted off to sleep. The next morning Spock was the first to get up. He got in the shower and changed into his Starfleet uniform.
When Spock got out of the bathroom, he noticed Anna on the comm unit. "Father, I do understand, but could you give me a few more days of leave?" Anna begged.
"No, you will report to Captain Kirk after you and your husband are settled in." Then Anna's father was gone.
"Was that your father?" Spock asked as he walked into their bedroom.
"Yes, and he put me on active duty. I am assigned on the Enterprise in the engineering department." Anna got up and put her shawl on her head, one of the many traditions for Vulcan women while travelling.
Spock walked up to his wife. "Having you on active duty is a good idea. That way, we can remain together. Enterprise is a science vessel. Therefore mates can't usually be on the ship unless they are both assigned there," Spock reminded her. "Right, and you don't need to have that thing. I like it when you wear your hair down. I don't follow some traditions, and you should not be forced to either." The buzzer system heralded.
"Enter," Spock said. The couple turned around and saw Sarek and Teva.
"Thank you both for doing your duty." Sarek gave Spock and Anna the Vulcan salute.
"Go, and live long in prosper," Sarek said, and then he left his son's apartment, leaving only Teva.
She walked up to her daughter. "Don't worry, I will be fine. Go and live your lives together," Teva said and then gave Anna a brief hug and left.
"Well, that was interesting," Anna said as she looked at her husband.
"Yes, very," Spock said. He walked behind his wife and took off her shawl.
"Spock, what will everyone think?"
"I don't care what they think. We do not have to follow all the Vulcan Traditions," Spock said. "Now it is time we go." The two of them were almost out the door when Spock's Comm went off. "Yes, Captain."
"It is good to hear your voice, Spock. You and your friend will have to take a shuttle to the Enterprise. We are experiencing some, well, the Transporters are broken. I am sending Scotty down with a shuttle to pick you up. Jim out."
"Captain Kirk sounds frustrated," Anna said with a smile. "I think they missed you," she added.
"Missed me?" Spock said with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes, Spock. A human emotion, people feel when they don't have someone they need or love close to them," Anna said as she walked up to her husband. She stood on her tiptoes and gave her husband a quick kiss on his lips.
"Let's get out of here," Spock said. He took their bags and went to the landing platform to wait for Scotty and the shuttle.
Anna and Spock were waiting on a bench when Spock saw the shuttle. It landed, and Scotty climbed out. Scotty saw Spock with his forehead leaning against a younger Vulcan Female forehead. "We are awake, Commander Scott," Spock said.
"Hi. I am Anna. I will be taking the open position available in Engineering," she said.
"Oh, yes, of course, you are Admiral Oshay's daughter," Scotty said. He held out his hand. She took it for an instant.
"Commander, she may be Admiral Oshay's daughter, but she is my wife," Spock said. He grabbed the bags, and they boarded the Enterprise shuttle. Commander Scott was the last to board. Spock was waiting in the chair that would pilot the shuttle to the Enterprise.
"You two are married?" Scotty asked with his mouth hanging open.
"Yes, Scotty, my father and her mother arranged for us to be married," Spock replied. Anna chuckled at that, and she noticed her husband's small smile. "I can't wait to show her off," Spock told himself in his head.
