Chapter 12: Spock's Wife

"Spock, I think your father is unwell," Anna told her husband gently.

"I agree. Father would never admit his health is failing," Spock replied. As he got up, he said, "I am going to take a shower." Spock walked into the bathroom.

About ten minutes later, Spock came back out. He saw Anna up wearing her robe. "Now it is my turn," Anna said. She walked into the shower and turned on the water.

While Anna was showering, Spock thought about his father. "He is ill," Spock said to himself. Just then, his buzzer went off. "Enter."

"Hey, how is the future dad?" Jim asked as he entered Spock's quarters.

"I am doing acceptable," Spock replied.

"We are approaching Vulcan space and will arrive within an hour. Scotty will beam you and Anna to your new home," Jim said.

"Thank you, Jim. You have helped me in so many ways, my friend. With help from you, Bones and Anna, I grew and found a solid life balance," Spock said.

"I already miss you on that bridge," Jim said. They did not notice Anna watching them. Anna closed her eyes for a minute. She felt deep down that she was taking Spock away from his friends. Jim then noticed Anna. "Well, I will contact you when we are in Vulcan Space." Jim moved his eyes to see Anna and then left.

"Anna," Spock said as he turned and saw his wife. "What is wrong?"

"I feel like I am taking you away from your family," Anna said.

"Anna, you and this baby are my family." Spock kissed his wife on her lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He gently picked her up and put her on their bed. He took off her Vulcan robe, and she helped get his Starfleet uniform off. The two of them made love gently.

An hour later, Jim and the bridge crew looked at the 5-level circular Vulcan/Starfleet station the ship approached. "Wow, that's unbelievable," McCoy said. "We should call Spock and Anna up here."

"Uhura, let Spock know we arrived, and I want him and his wife up here on the bridge," Kirk said.

Spock's comm unit went off. "Captain Spock, we have arrived at Starfleet Station 17. Captain Kirk requests your company on the bridge. Bring your wife," Uhura said.

"We will arrive shortly." Spock looked at his naked wife and got up. He took another quick shower. After he showered, it was Anna's turn. She dressed and had that shawl on her head. The two of them were finally ready.

They walked out of their apartment, got on the lift, and Spock said, "Bridge." Spock and Anna stepped out and saw their new home. "I am impressed," Spock admitted.

Anna looked at the 5-level circular Starbase. Everyone turned around and saw Spock and his wife, Anna. They noticed Anna wore a shawl on her head. "Spock, I can't believe this. It's impressive," Anna said.

"Yes, Anna it is," Spock said.

"Spock, I have a question. Why are the levels in circles?" McCoy asked.

Spock raised an eyebrow as his wife answered, "The circles represent the great hall and other noble sites located on Vulcan, Dr. McCoy."

"Ah, so it is an honor thing," McCoy said.

"Yes, Dr. It is indeed in honor of our noble buildings," Spock said

Uhura said, "Captain Kirk, we are receiving hail from Starbase 17th."

"On screen," Jim said. All of a sudden, Ambassador Sarek's face filled the screen.

"Captain Kirk, I request you, and Dr. McCoy be transported aboard for a tour of the new Space Station 17," Sarek said.

"We would love that," Kirk said.

"I will await your arrival in the transporter room," Sarek said before disconnecting.

"Okay, Spock, let's go see your new home," Kirk said with a smile.

Spock, Anna, Bones, and Captain Kirk left the bridge and got to the transporter room.

"Space Station 17 is ready for everyone. Captain Spock, it has been fun," Scotty said.

"Fun, Commander," Spock said.

Anna just shook her head. "Commander Scott, energize," Kirk ordered.

"Energizing," Scotty said as he moved the lever.

A few seconds later, everyone was in the Transporter room. Spock and Anna stepped off the transport pad first.

"Welcome to Space Station 17, Captain Spock and Commander Oshay. Welcome home," Sarek said. He did the Vulcan salute. Both Spock and Anna reciprocated the greeting. "Captain Kirk, and Dr. McCoy, welcome," Sarek told everyone. "Now to begin the tour."

Sarek and Teva took them level by level, starting on the first level. Everyone walked into the command level and saw all the computer panels. "Spock, your office is here."

Spock looked through the glass doors. "Adequate," Spock said.

"Everyone, please, follow me," Teva said. The group got into the lift. "Second Level," Teva said, and they were on the second level. "Engineering is on this floor." Everyone saw the Warp core and the computers.

"We have full shield capabilities. Photon torpedoes and functional phasers, if needed," Sarek announced.

"Wow," McCoy said.

"Yes, it is impressive," Kirk said.

"Okay, let's continue," Teva said. "Third Level," she commanded when they entered the turbolift.

Everyone looked around when the doors opened. "The Science Lab level. We have many labs researching various parts of the virus to find a cure for our people. We must find a cure," Teva said. She redirected everyone back onto the turbo life. "Fourth Level."

Everyone exited on the fourth floor. "The social level," Teva announced. "It contains multiple gyms, a shopping center, a food center, where you can purchase Vulcan food, and a cafeteria for a transitional Earth meal." Teva led them down a long corridor. "The sickbay is fully equipped."

"I think I'm in love," Bones said as he entered the room. "Wow. Why can't we have this as my sickbay on the Enterprise?" Captain Kirk chuckled.

"Yes, it contains all the modern equipment, Dr. McCoy," Sarek said. "To Level 5."

Everyone got on the lift and went to the fifth and final level. When everyone stepped off the turbolift, they saw some Vulcan kids running into a classroom.

"Yes, that is the school for the children. We teach the same subject that we would at the Vulcan Academy," Teva said.

Anna took a deep breath. She remembered the day when Sarek kicked her out of the Vulcan Academy. Spock walked up to his wife. "Are you okay?" he asked her.

"Yes, I am,'' Anna told her husband.

"Here are your quarters, Spock and Anna," Sarek told them. Sarek handed the card to Spock. He read it through the card reader, and the door opened. Just then, the Sehlat come running up to Spock and Anna. The two of them patted him for a few minutes. After that, Anna looked up to see the warm brown walls. Anna noticed the wooden kitchen table with wood chairs and cushions attached to the seats. She saw the big replicator. As she walked farther into their quarters, she saw the living room. A computer on a desk sat in the corner. On the far wall was a flat-screen monitor mounted. A love seat, couch and recliner took up the remaining space.

Anna entered one of the bedrooms. A crib, a changing table, a dresser and a bench for mediation for when the child grew. She walked through the other door and saw their bedroom. The king-sized bed, a dresser and bedside tables with lamps fit in the space. She walked further into the room to see the meditation bench. Spock grabbed her hand as they entered the bathroom. It had double sinks, a walk-in shower and a standard toilet.

She looked at Spock for his reaction. "I am impressed now," Spock said. He walked through another door in the hallway to discover another bathroom with a tub, sink and toilet.

"Wow, Spock, this station is unbelievable," Kirk said.

"Yes, Jim, it is quite nice," Spock said.

Just then, Kirk's comm link went off. "Yes, Commander Uhura," he replied.

"Starfleet just contacted us. They want us to remain here. Admiral Oshay has left Earth on the U.S.S. Excelsior. They think he is coming here to take Commander Oshay back to Earth," Uhara said.

"Understood," he said. "Well, Spock, it looks like you are not getting rid of us that easily."

"I do not understand, Captain," Spock said.

Anna closed her eyes. "It was a joke, Spock," Anna explained.

"I do not see the humor," Spock replied.

"I will explain later," Anna told her husband.

"Well, my wife and I need to get settled," Spock told everyone.

"Of course," Jim said, smiling.

"I am sure there are guest quarters you can use," Spock told them.

"Yes, I will show them to the guest quarters. You two get settled," Sarek told them. Everyone left Spock and Anna in their new quarters.

Spock walked up to his wife and took off her shawl. Her hair fell to her shoulders, and he noticed her brown eyes sparkling. "There, that is better." He kissed her passionately. After the kiss, Spock looked into his wife's sparkling brown eyes.

"This station feels like home," Anna told her husband.

"Yes, my darling wife, it does," Spock said. He pushed back her long black hair. "Come now, let's rest for a while." Spock led her to their new bedroom and the two of them laid down on their bed.
