Chapter 13: Spock's Wife
An hour later, Spock woke up to his comm going off. "Captain Spock, the U.S.S Excelsior has entered Vulcan Space and is demanding to talk with you," Lt. Savvik said.
"Thank you, Lt. Saavik. Raise the shields. No one is coming onboard or going off this station until further notice," Spock told her.
"Yes, Captain," Savvik said.
Anna looked into her husband's dark eyes. "I am going with you," Anna said. She got up and changed into her Vulcan robes because they were the only clothes that fit her right now.
All of a sudden, a wave of dizziness hit her. "On second thought," Anna closed her eyes.
"You are staying here," Spock said, finishing her sentence. He gave Sehlat a quick pat and then left. He saw his father waiting for him outside his quarters. "Father, you had to leave me the Sehlat."
"Yes, I thought he would be a good pet for my grandchild," Sarek told him.
"You gave it to me to get even for having a sehlat as a child," Spock retorted.
"The thought never crossed my mind, Spock," Sarek said, but Spock could see his father smiling a little bit. To the untrained eye, they wouldn't see the smile.
Spock and Sarek did not see Lt. Greedy and ensign Reagan in the corner when Spock left his quarters. Once they assured Captain Spock was gone, they approached the Captain's quarters. Lt. Greedy played with the panel beside the door and gained entry.
Anna was lying in her bed when the distinct sounds of two sets of footfalls moved through her home. She located the security alarm behind her nightstand and pressed the button. A second later, Ensign Reagan moved gently on the bed and depressed a. Hypodermic needle into Commander Oshay's neck. She was out in three seconds. Lt. Greedy pIcked up Commander Oshay. They were just about to take Anna out when they both heard growling.
"What the heck?" Greedy yelled. "Come here, boy. Do you want some treats?" Greedy threw some lettuce on the bed to get the sehlat's attention. It jumped onto the bed to munch on the snack. Greedy shut and locked the bedroom door.
Ensign Reagan tapped his comm unit and said, "We are ready to beam."
"Sir, they engaged their shields, preventing us from beaming you out," the engineer replied.
"Damn, we will have to take a shuttle. Grab the girl and let's go," Greedy said. Ensign Reagan lifted Anna, bride style, to carry her from the room.
All of the officers were in the command room, awaiting orders. "Captain Spock, we received a security alarm from your quarters."
"Security, get to my quarters, now," Spock ordered. Jim and McCoy quickly left the command room to follow the guards to Spock's quarters.
When Security, Jim and McCoy arrived inside the unit, they saw Anna gone. "With the shields engaged, they cannot beam her out," McCoy said.
"Shuttle bay, where is it?" Jim asked the security team.
"Right this way, sir." The Security team made their way to the far east side of the station on the same floor as the family floor. They then saw them. Lt. Greedy was trying to disengage the shields while Ensign Reagan was loading Anna onboard a shuttle.
"Damn, Vulcan Technology. I can't lower the shields. It seems that only Captain Spock can do it because he was the one that ordered it," Greedy said.
"Hold it right there," two security officers said.
"Great," Greedy said. He took out his phaser and started to shoot at the security officers.
Anna started to wake up. "Wow," she mumbled.
Reagan was also firing at the security officers. After Anna got her head straight, she made her way off the shuttle. It was then Jim and Bones saw Anna. "Our goal is to bring her to Admiral Oshay. Now, get out of my way, Captain. We have our orders." Jim and Bones noticed Anna getting held by Ensign Reagan behind her.
Spock was tired of waiting. He went to his chair to push a button. Everyone saw a phaser come up from the chair. "Father, you have command of the ship," Spock said. He knew his father was next in line to take command.
"Go Spock, do what you must." Sarek said to his son.
Spock already knew this station backwards and forwards after studying the schematics. He went into the turbo lift. "Level 5." Spock got off the turbo lift and saw what he was looking for. He pulled off a wall panel. "It is going to be a tight squeeze," he said to himself.
He got in the passageway and crawled to the shuttle bay location. Spock saw Jim and Bones looking at Greedy. "We can't shoot. He is too close to Anna," Bones said to Jim.
Spock removed the grate in the shuttle bay. Nobody noticed him crawl from the passageway. He quietly moved behind Reagan. When Reagan realized someone was behind him, it was too late. Spock used the Vulcan grip to neutralize Reagan, who fell to the ground. Anna quickly stepped behind her husband for protection.
"Don't even think about it, Lt. Greedy," Spock said. Lt. Greedy dropped his phaser to the ground. Security entered the shuttle bay to take Greedy and Reagan into custody.
Spock turned around and looked at his wife. "Are you okay?" Spock asked her.
"Yes," Anna answered just as the station rocked. Spock grabbed Anna and took her in his arms. The two of them fell backwards, with Spock landing hard on the floor.
"Captain Spock, we are being fired upon by the Excelsior," Savvik said.
"Spock, we need you on the command deck now," Sarek told his son.
"On my way." Anna got up first with the help of Jim, and Then Spock got up after her. "Your father is getting on my last nerve," Spock told his wife.
"Yes, mine too," Anna said to her husband, and then all three of them walked up to the Command Deck. Everyone saw Spock, Anna, and Teva enter the command room.
"What about phasers? Do we have them?" Spock asked her.
"Yes, they are at full capacity," Savvik said.
"Hail the Excelsior," Spock ordered.
Lt. Savvik hit a few buttons, and everyone waited. Everyone saw Admiral Oshay appear on the screen. "You will surrender my daughter, or your precious station will perish."
"Admiral Oshay, you will leave now, do you understand me?" Spock said.
Spock noticed that the whole bridge crew was gone. A few seconds later, Spock watched Captain Jameson exit the turbo lift.
Two security men came up out of the blue, one on each side of Admiral Oshay. "How the hell did you two get out of the Brigg?" Oshay asked.
"He is the least of your problems Adam," Jameson said. "Get him out of my chair, and secure him in the Brigg."
"Yes, Captain." Security pulled Admiral Oshay out of the captain's chair and took him off the bridge.
"Security, get my bridge crew back now," Jameson told him.
'Yes, Captain," Security said and then went to find the bridge crew.
"Hello, Mr. Spock," Jameson asked.
"What happened, Captain?" Spock asked him.
"Well, Admiral Oshay boarded us on Earth, and somehow, he managed to get a few of my security officers to work for him. They took the bridge crew and put them in the Brigg, me included, and you know the rest."
"Don't worry, Mr. Spock. We will return him to Earth, and charges will get filed," Captain Jameson said. He cut the hail.
Everyone aboard the space station watched the Excelsior fly away at warp speed.
"Lt. Savvik, make sure the repairs are taken care of."
