With the events that occurred in Westview, Wanda Maximoff, otherwise known as the Scarlet Witch, now had her cottage in the mountains to study magic and be herself.
Despite knowing that her children were still alive somewhere, Wanda decided that she wanted to teach someone magic, so she chose to adopt a young girl named Ariana. Despite knowing exactly what happened at Westview, she was raising the child herself... without Vision as she had once attempted and wished.
10 years later
When her mother was busy doing something, Ari accidentally knocked a book off the shelf, The Darkhold(or Book Of Spells or whatever you prefer to call it).
"What the heck?"
"Ariana, what are you doing?" Wanda asked as she saw the teenager with the spellbook, sighing.
"As we discussed a while back, Ari you can't use the magic in that book... it's too powerful and you're too young to use it."
"What is the hold up for me using that kind of magic now that I'm 17 and I've mastered all your previous spells...?"
During Ari's conversation, Wanda rose to speak
"Previously you told me you would show me the darker spells when I was old enough... how long before I am ready for that?" Ari asked, slightly impatient.
Wanda hesitated for a moment at her daughters' question, smiling softly as she did, "Ari, come with me." Wanda reached out her hand to stand by Ari, "there's... someone who would've liked to meet you."
Seeing her mother's surprise, Ari looked at her in utter confusion
Her eyes grew wide as she took Wanda's hand and followed her to a bigger area of the cabin.
"Just trust me, hold your hands out."
"Of course I trust you, but what are you planning to do?"
"Ari" Wanda chuckled in response
"Okay, okay, I'll concentrate now."
A moment later, Ari's hands glow a mint turquoise colour along with Wanda's red magic; soon a figure appears beside the girls
When Ari became distracted by the spell, Wanda reminded her to "keep focused".
Around a moment later the figure Ari had learned to summon was full and beside them.
"Ariana... this is Vision..." Wanda spoke, her voice cracking through sadness, tears appearing in her eyes
"he died when Thanos attacked... first I didn't have a choice but to kill him... But Thanos used the time stone to bring him back to life just to kill him again" Wanda explained. Ari could hear the pain in her voice as she was told the story
"But why?"
"Vision had a stone called the Mind Stone"
"I read about that and the other Infinity Stones... What Happened... And how do you know this guy?"
"well... he was there for me when I had no one... But after Thanos killed him in front of me-"
"it's alright you don't have to tell me if you don't want to," Ari said with a smile as Wanda pulled her close
"what did I do to deserve you?" Wanda asked with a smile cuddling her daughter close
"How did you get your powers?"
"I never told you that story?" Wanda asked in surprise as Ari shook her head
"uh uh"
"did I ever tell you I had a brother? And how we both got our powers from the Mind stone?"
"you did?... how?"
"Well before I met Vision and the Avengers, my twin brother and I lived with our family far from here. As children, we lost our parents in an explosion from a missile made by Tony Stark"
"Iron Man?"
"yes Iron Man... myself and my brother Pietro stayed under the wreckage of our home for two days before someone found us, eventually both of us volunteered to experiment with the mind stone... many who had tried before us didn't survive the test but my brother and I... we did"
"then what happened?"
"Well long story short eventually we teamed up with an evil robot named Ultron who was created by Stark... After a while I began to see what he was planning on doing to the world... we decided to help the Avengers defeat Ultron... Halfway through the fight, my brother was killed... soon after that's when I joined the team officially... then that's where I met Vision"
Wanda explained with a sad soft smile hugging Ariana closer as they stared out the window of the cabin
"Vision would've loved you Ari... and the boys too but that's a story for another time"
"Oh come on... just one more story... please..." Ari begged despite knowing her pleading wouldn't work.
"no, it's time to get dinner ready and then... maybe I'll tell you but let's just say its a story I'm not fond of telling"
"well... tell me about the Avengers then... you told me how you met them... but you didn't say who else there was I mean aside from Vision and Iron Man"
Wanda smiled running a hand through Ari's hair, cuddling her gently
"after dinner okay, I promise, now go outside to the garden for a bit okay.. it won't be long" Wanda ruffled Ari's hair gently before watching her run out of the cabin. "And Ari"
"I know to stay close to the cabin... I got it" Ari called back with a smile as she went outside
Wanda watched from the window as she started to get dinner for the two of them ready, completely forgetting the illusion of Vision was still there until she turned around just to be frightened by the last memory she had of him(not technically counting what happened in Westview)
Shebacked away into the bookshelf frightened from seeing the colour had disappeared from her once partner yet again.
"NO!" a sudden burst of energy sent a blast through the room making the illusion of Vision disappear once again, leaving Wanda shaken.
"Ari!" she called outside in a panic running over to the teenager who was sitting reading under a tree
"Mum? what happened?"
"are you okay?" Wanda asked, her voice shaky after the fright she just had as she ran a shaky hand through Ari's hair despite trying to hide it
"I'm fine... b...but wha-"
Wanda sighed as Ari stayed close to her "I'm sorry I have to put you through this... I just... I don't want to lose anyone again I lost my family once... I'm not losing them again"
AN: keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing, Wanda's backstory is all done from memory so please tell me if anything is wrong! I will do my best to fix it! The next chapter will be Dr Strange and Ruby!!
