Beyond the walls of kingdoms and rules of the settlements, a lone building stood. It was an old brick building with a round symbol above its door. The symbol showed a large tree seemingly growing out of a package of some kind. Inside, there was a hustle as packages come and go in the hands of the handlers. Parcels moving to and from the kingdoms and beyond, passing hands within the building in the hopes of reaching their grand destination. But one package in particular always made the group take their time more than any other.

A simple black parcel, barely any symbols on it, passed through the hands of three handlers on its way to this location. The boss took the package and walked to the main floor, "Kari!"

A young woman ran up to the boss with a salute. "Sir!" She was a fair skinned squirrel Faunas with a large, bushy tail. Her hair was a nut brown color and her eyes were a bright green. She wore her standard uniform style with a blue button-up shirt and black shorts, accented using boots and dark stockings. "What did you need, boss?"

The boss held up the parcel. "It's that time of the month again. Remember, get it to Beacon by the end of the day if possible. This is the last leg of its journey, make it quick."

Kari nodded with determination painted onto her face. "Got it!" She took the package and opened her carrier bag and placed it inside. She adjusted the inside and the strap to make sure it couldn't bounce around or fall. "I'm heading out boss!"

"Good luck, Kari. Don't take too long, got it?"

"Got it! I've never had a late package yet!" Kari turned and ran out of the door with a quick step and a presence of self that screamed Let's do this! I'm awesome! She ran down the main road and made for Vale. The kingdom wasn't too far away, so it wouldn't take long to get there, but she also had to cross the entirety of the main city before she could reach the Bullhead center and actually rise up the cliffs to reach the school at the end of her route.

She ran down the dirt path and leapt up over a fallen tree with ease and kept her momentum well enough. This path was quick, but there was a real risk of a small bandit tribe. Two of these members are, at this moment, hiding behind a set of rocks on the path with weapons prepared. One signaled to the other and they brought down a barricade of wooden trunks.

One of them leaned against the wooden barrier and laughed, shouting to the approaching figure. "Alright, listen up! Just hand over your valuables easy and we'll let you through, got that?!"

After a moment of silence, the two glanced to each other before holding up their guns, only for the wooden wall to burst in on them as the woman tore through the barricade like it was made of tissue paper. The impact caused the two to fall backward in shock as the woman just ran on, without a care in the world. They turned to each other for a moment before looking back toward her and then the barrier. They both nodded before moving to their feet and just walking away. It suddenly made sense why the tribe told them to avoid the road today.

Back with Kari, she was getting closer to Vale and speaking to herself, "I wonder what that was about. Whatever! I'm making great time!" She ran up to Vale's walls and toward the entrance. She'd been at this for so long, she had her papers ready for entry and was quickly allowed through without much issue. "Just need to get to…"

"Hold up!" A customs officer flagged her down and motioned for her to approach. "Standard procedure, we'll need to check the bag."

Kari blinked then smacked her forehead, "Crap, I forgot! Here." She moved over and handed her bag to the officer. "Sorry about that."

"No problem. People 'round here have gotten too used to you is all." He opened the bag and moved through the various items, careful not to mess anything up. "Looks good." He handed the bag back to the courier with a smile. "Welcome to Vale, Kari."

"Thanks!" Kari set the bag back into place and ran off. "Okay, lost a minute or two, but that's okay! Just need to… Huh?!" Kari suddenly came to a stop seeing a police barricade with a stand off going on. She ran up to an officer and asked, "What's going on?"

The officer turned to her, about to shoo her off, but knew it wouldn't help keep her away without explaining it. "A White Fang attack."

"In the middle of the day?"

"Middle of the day? It's like, eight."

Kari blinked before holding up her watch. It read 12:30, only for her to notice the second hand wasn't moving. She took out her scroll and her eyes bugged out of her head. "8:02 PM?!" She had 58 minutes before her shift would technically end and the package would be considered late. "I have to move!" She was about to run into the stand off but was stopped.

"Hold it! Where do you think you're going?!"

"Beacon! That way is the fastest way there!"

"Well, you'll need to go around! We're in the middle of a situation and we can't risk you getting hurt!"

"Don't care!" Kari jumped over the officer and ran into the scene.

In the middle of a street, White Fang bruisers were firing at a police line hiding behind their cars. "That's right, human scumbags! Stay down! Or better yet, stand up and get hit!" One of the bruisers laughed as he kept unloading into the cover. "You think we'll just stay down forever?! Well fuck off! You don't get to-"

He was suddenly cut off as Kari used his head as a springboard and sent him flying forward and face planting onto the ground. This momentary confusion allowed for enough of a break that the police could capitalize and arrest the Fang members before they could recover.

Kari screamed as she ran a marathon's worth of travel in about thirty minutes. "It takes ten minutes for the Bullhead to reach the top of the cliff! I just need to get one and… OH COME ON!"

She skid to a halt to reveal the Bullhead service used by Beacon academy was currently down for maintenance. She let out a primal scream and just decided to do this the hard way. She ran headlong for the cliffside and leapt up onto the stone surface. She scrambled to climb the sheer stone wall and was making good headway in doing so. Letting out a roar, she increased her speed and rose up the side of the cliff like a spider climbing a wall.

Atop the cliff, Ozpin looked at his watch. "8:55. Guess I'll need to wait until tomorrow. Oh well." He took a sip from his mug and let out a sigh. One day was nothing worth getting upset over. He moved to return to the school, content to get his package tomorrow.

"WAIT!" The voice caught Ozpin off guard for a moment before seeing a figure pulling herself over the side of the cliff. Kari slammed her hand onto the top of the cliff and pulled herself up and to her feet. She was exhausted before taking a deep breath and popped open her pack. She handed out the black-wrapped package. "Package for Ozpin!"

"I'm impressed." Ozpin smiled. "Thank you for being so timely. I wasn't expecting you to get here today."

"I've never had a late package!" Kari pulled out her work scroll and moved it toward him, "Sign here please."

"Of course." Ozpin took the scroll and signed for his package using his finger. "I always appreciate your company and how timely you are."

"Always happy to help sir!" Kari's scroll went off, telling her that her shift was over. "Right on time! Now, I just need to get back…" Then she looked down the cliff and back to Ozpin. "Uh…"

"We have a staff room you can use for the night. The Bullheads should be up and running soon enough."

"Thanks." Kari let out a breath with a light groan. "For some reason I feel more tired than usual." She thought for a moment before shrugging. "Can't think of why."
