King: I do not apologize. Just remember that none of these are canon to anything. Have fun with that.

Prompt: Jaune dresses up like Torchwick for Halloween. (I did mix this up a bit since I don't think Remnant has an actual Halloween)

Bander's Day. It's a fun day for children to get candy and everyone to dress up in fun costumes. Beacon Academy was no exception. The night of Bander's Day, on a weekend this year, held a costume party for the students. And the students were given free reign over what costumes they could wear, with two caveats. First, they couldn't wear any actual uniforms of any active combat force. For instance, no one could dress up as an Atlassian soldier or White Fang member. Second, and this was important, their costumes HAD to cover their genitals! Apparently, there was a smartass a couple years ago that used a loophole to act out. She didn't last too much longer in the school. But, that's neither here nor there.

And thus, this year's ball was in full swing. And even Ruby Rose would admit to enjoying this one. Heck, she was just in a good mood today in general. Why, you ask? It was her favorite holiday! AND her Birthday! Bander's Day was awesome! Free candy for years and then she got to dress up in costumes the rest of her life! It was great! The dance thing was just okay, but at least she wasn't in those lady-stilts this time. Rather, Ruby was wearing a Vale church's nun's robes: black robes, hood with a white headband, and simple shoes. Her accessories from her combat gear can fit onto the attire well. Speaking of costumes, you know Ruby basically forced her team to dress up as well.

Yang was the easiest one to get to dress up for the costume party. She had already planned to dress up anyway. After all, Yang liked to show off her body in the normal day to day, you bet she was going to take the chance to go all out for Bander's Day. Yang dressed up like a biker thug. Yellow tube top, sleeveless half jacket, shorts, fishnet stockings, her combat boots, and fingerless gloves. She even had Ruby help her put on some body paint to look like some scars and a tattoo on her arm.

Speaking of temporary ink, Blake. Blake had been the most surprising in terms of costumes. She said she was dressed as a 'Yakuza' type. Apparently it's a thing in one of her books. She also had a tube top but also had tight white pants, sandal-strap heels, and a massive work of body art on her side, up over her shoulder, and onto her arm. There were demons, skulls, dragons, and scales. For some reason, it only covered her left side, but it was clearly a lot of work to put in for something that would only be there for the night.

Weiss had been the hardest to convince, but Ruby had her ways. In the end, Weiss ended up wearing what resembled an old military uniform. A white dress with a tighter skirt than her usual style, a long military coat hanging from her back like a cape, canvas hat with her symbol in black at the front, grey hosiery, simple heels, and a pair of aviator glasses. It was actually pretty cool, and still pretty functional. Very Weiss.

Ruby practically bounced next to a candy bowl Professor Ozpin left for everyone. She took a candy, freeing it from the offending wrapper, and popped it into her mouth as she looked around. Of course, there were the usual costumes: vampires, zombies, various comic book characters. Honestly, one of the most creative turned out to be one of the exchange students, Reese. She'd dressed up in bandaging while carrying a similarly wrapped doll and a large bag. A mummy-mommy, if you will. Yang kicked herself for not thinking of that. But to Ruby, everything was great! She looked over the group to find Team JNPR in the crowd.

She found Ren, dressed in old Mistali armor. The design showed mostly cloth armor parts with a lacquered shoulder piece with a light cape. The light shirt and dark pants with a special piece of clothing to wrap from his waist and to around halfway between his ankles and knees. He wore a set of flat black shoes and a purple sash from one shoulder. Then there was the mask with a set of horns. He also had what looked like a replica of a Jian sword at his side.

Nora was easy to find as well. She was dressed in leather armor with a plate chest piece with fur over her collar. A leather cape hung from her shoulders and similar armor covered her arms and over her shins. She had a spear, of all things, and an eyepatch over one of her eyes. She let out a hardy laugh and claimed to be the 'Mother of all' and such.

"Excuse me." Pyrrha's voice made Ruby turn her head to the side and nearly had to leap back in sheer shock. Pyrrha had dressed in, what Ruby could only remotely call, a Vacuoan Harem outfit! Her bright red outfit only covered her breasts and pelvic area, the rest of the material, over the sleeves and pants, was see-through. She had a pair of simple sandals as well. But that was it! It was something that Pyrrha Nikos of all people just didn't wear. Which, now that Ruby thought about it, was probably the point. "I was hoping I could take one of the chocolates."

"Uh… Sure." Ruby stepped aside for Pyrrha to grab her own candy. "No offense Pyrrha, but… what's with the outfit?"

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

"It just seems a bit… much? Little?" Ruby was having a hard time thinking about how to put this.

"Oh. I suppose it could be, if you think about it like that."

"But maybe that's the point." A gloved hand rested on Pyrrha's shoulder, making Ruby seize up.

Why, you ask? Because that was a specific type of glove. The straps and design were too clear. Then the figure passed around Pyrrha. White coat, dark pants, dress shoes, bowler hat, hair that swooped over his left eye, even the freaking cane and mascara! Ruby was about to go into attack mode when she noticed the hair wasn't orange, but rather blond. "Jaune?"

Jaune chuckled and moved with a little flourish. "The one and only." He moved with a level of confidence Ruby wasn't used to. And Jaune seemed to notice this and answered a question she didn't get to ask. "Sometimes just dressing differently can make you act a little differently, too. Coco said, 'clothes make the man,' and I think I get what she meant now."

"Okay, but... Why Torchwick?" Ruby was genuinely confused.

"A couple reasons. First, you have to admit he has style."

Ruby had to concede that. On someone that wasn't a total jackass, it works.

"Second, I wanted to pick someone where I could make a joke and this was the best option. There aren't a lot of well known thieves with specific styles and who look good."

But Ruby caught that bit. "What's the joke?"

Jaune smirked and glanced at Pyrrha, who in turn grinned with a light nod. Jaune stepped to the side and held his hand to Ruby, "Simple. I plan to steal you, tonight."

This got Ruby to turn a bit pink in the cheeks. "Wait, what?"

"You heard me, Red~"

That nickname pissed Ruby off from anyone but that voice. But then there was the other bit going on. "Wait! I-I thought you and Pyrrha were… did you two… what?"

"Did we break up? No." Pyrrha answered, stepping around Jaune as she continued, "See, we're still together. In fact, we're stronger than ever. But, hey, we thought it might be a good idea to give you a special gift for your Birthday. And you never know what might happen after."

Ruby was spiraling. Pyrrha didn't act like that! Jaune didn't act like that! Her stammering was difficult to understand, but she didn't move either.

Pyrrha leaned in to whisper into Ruby's ear. "We've got all night before you have to answer. Take your time." With that, the two walked off and left Ruby alone.

Ruby stood there long enough for Yang to walk up behind her and wave her hand in front of her sister's eyes. "You good, sis? What's up?" She looked up to see Jaune and Pyrrha in the distance and let out a whistle. "Damn~ Look at those two." Yang elbowed her sister in the side, "Think they'll let a third in for a night?"

It was at that moment that Ruby passed out.
