Marcy is studying in a library, until she receives a text message from Sasha, reminding her that it's Anne's birthday,
"Anne's birthday! I almost forgot! Uuh-"
just as Marcy was about to go and meet Sasha and Anne for her birthday, A mysterious book falls off of a passing librarian's cart,
"Uh, excuse me ma'am, you dropped your... book?" She flips through the book, "Whoa! "Calamity Box"? "Travel to other worlds"? Hah! Oh, goofy stuff. Cool artwork, though."
She takes her phone out and takes a picture of the page. A text from Dad appears, the text says,
"come home marcy, we need to talk."
Marcy looks confused at first but decides to go to her house for an important discussion with her parents about something,
"Huh, wonder what this is all about. Well, guess I'll head home before meeting up with the girls." She puts down the book and goes home.
She arrives at her house, she goes to the living room where her parents are sitting at the sofa,
"Marcy? We have something to tell you." Marcy's mom said looking worried,
"Oh okay, so what do you guys want me here for?" Marcy said in question
Marcy's parents look at each other, then Marcy's dad look at Marcy and spoke up,
"Marcy, we know your best friends with Anne and Sasha, and you know that last month I lost my job, due to the company that I was formerly working for, shut down." Marcy's dad said, looking all disappointed,
"Yeah dad, I know it sucks for you."
Just last month before this conversation, her dad recently lost his job, due to the company being out of money, until upon today, he gotten a new job as a factory worker in Oregon and wondering what Marcy's reaction would looked like that her dad finally found a new job,
Marcy's mom spoke up and said,
"And we know that we raised you in this town, a roof under your head, food for you and your love and your smartness in school that you liked so much." Marcy's mom smiled slightly,
"What's this all about? and what are you trying to say?" Marcy said in curiosity,
"Marcy, please don't be upset when we tell you this?" Marcy's mom said looking disappointed,
"Okay, I promised that I would not be upset." Marcy said
Her mom took a calming breath and then exhale out when she spoke,
"Your father got a new job in Oregon, out of state, we'll be moving there about three weeks."
Marcy looks shocked of what mom had said,
"W-what?" Marcy said, she looked too shocked for her to speak,
"Yeah." Said Marcy's dad, "and you'll have a new life in Oregon, with a new town, new friends and a new school for you! Isn't this exciting?"
Marcy couldn't believe what she was hearing right now!she liked her life in this town and the time that she met Anne and Sasha as a child, the time that her spending time with her friends was excited and playing her favorite games, even inviting her friends for a sleepover and watching her favorite movie, and now that she's moving away, she gets so worried that she would not be friends with Anne and Sasha anymore,
"no." Marcy spoke
Marcy's mom and dad looked at her shocked of what she is saying what now
Marcy is now in tears now,
"No no no no no NO! Y-you can't do this to me, if you do that then I wouldn't be friends with Anne and Sasha anymore!" Marcy's said while crying,
"Marcy, its okay, you can still chat with each other on your phone." Marcy's mom said, "but please try to understand that this is for the better, and for your father's too."
"NO! You don't understand how I'm feeling right now!" Marcy spoke up while tearing up,
"Marcy, you have to understand--"
"NO!" Marcy interrupted of what Marcy's father is going to say, Marcy ran out of the living room, breaking something and out the door she goes in tears in her eyes,
"You guys are ruining my life!" Marcy said, running out of the door,
"Marcy, wait!" Her mom said disappointed
"Get back here! Young lady!" Her dad said upset
And she was never seen again
And she never returned to the house again.
