BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA: CENTER STAGE "TAKAMI KEIGO AND YAMASAKI KIRA"
BY: RENEE PHYLLIS
CHAPTER THREE
"All hell broke loose"
All hell broke loose when they started to attack. Some of the U. A. students had come saving their friend from the League of Villains. They fought with all their might. But in the end, they escaped – or rather, they were forced to escape when All for One, the high leader, used Magne's quirk and basically threw them to a warp gate. All Might's reign had come to an end. A new generation of good and evil will prevail.
…
"It's not like bad guys to sit here and look at the sunset", a voiced said in the background, behind Kira. She was sitting at the very top of a tall building, staring into the sunset as the wind blew past her, legs crossed. "I'm only human. I also have my wants and needs, pleasures if you may say so", she replied at the man, whose wings were so majestic that his shadow shined underneath him. "I get you don't trust me, but seriously, letting you investigate me, wouldn't that be something barbaric?", he smirked as he sat down beside her. "Men… Always so full of themselves. I'm not here to investigate you and besides, you don't know who I am", she said and rolled her eyes. "Yamasaki Kira, granddaughter of the former chief of the police department in Naruhata. Parents and brother killed inside their home, three years later, the daughter goes on a killing spree… Does that sum it all up?", he said, looking at her. His voice had a hint of pity, something she didn't like hearing. She draws out her dagger onto Hawks' throat. "Got a death wish, Hawks? Or would you prefer if I called you by your name, Takami-san", she said, her eyes full of darkness. Hawks pushes the dagger away and Kira's gaze went back from the sun going down. "A year ago, killings from the Musutafu, Hosu City and even Fukuoka started popping up. Drug dealers, smugglers, kidnappers and all sorts of criminals. Some victims said they were saved by what seemed like a female hero, calling her 'The Lady of the Night'. Seems to me like you're being a hero." Everything was silent for a moment, Kira recalling all those times, all those killings. If the people were to call her a hero, then maybe they should also call Toga, a hero. She wasn't alone in all those killings, because Toga was always with her. Those were the times where they had to do anything to survive. It was easier to investigate people who are suspicious of themselves and their surroundings and easier to kill them after. "I'm no hero. A hero saves those in need and doesn't kill criminals, instead they also save them from themselves", she turns to her side, gazing at Hawks. "I killed a man once, last year, who had a daughter and a wife. He was selling drugs and had business in the black market. I killed him with no remorse, no feeling at all, until I saw the picture, he held so dear inside the wallet that was on his pants", she was smiling, but her eyes were telling a different story. "In all of the battles that the League of Villains have fought, I stood by, not until Himiko would get hurt that is. But nonetheless, if someone were to be hurt in the family I have earned, then they will suffer my wrath and my rage. So no, Hawks. I'm no hero", she said and looked down as if to cry, but she was giggling. "It's ironic to think that I hated villains, but became one myself", her gaze went away from him to the city they were in. It wasn't the usual thing for a hero to feel pity for a villain telling her sob story, but that was what Hawks felt, listening to Kira as she poured out those words. He didn't just feel sorry for her, he felt as if to comfort her would be the best thing she would ever receive. And with that, his majestic wings hugged her, his arms around hers. He buried his face on the base of her neck. He didn't know what he was doing, but a few seconds later, she hugged him back. Her arms embracing him, hugging him around the waist. She smiled for the very first time, that same genuine smile she had back then.
Hawks lets go of her and she wipes her little tears away. "Thank you, Hawks", she looked at him, her eyes and mouth smiling so widely. Hawks seemed to be mesmerized. "I have to go", she said and she stood up from her seat. She jumped off the building and landed on those emergency stairs of the building. Hawks flew away, fast, like he always was.
"Seems like your sob story worked", a voice interrupted her thoughts and her expression came back to her usual blank face. "It wasn't a sob story; it was the whole truth. You know, if you want someone's trust, you have got to be honest with them", she turns around facing Dabi and rolling her eyes. "Was the hug part of your plan?", Dabi asked. "Was babysitting me, part of yours?", she spat back. "Whatever, let's go", he said and a warp opened. "He hugged me; I wasn't the one who engaged on it. Plus, he also put this on me", she took a tiny tech on the back of her hood. "Seems like he still doesn't trust me", she said and rolled her eyes, dropping the tech on the ground and smashing it with her foot. "We need him to trust you, so do a better job at it", he said. "You do it, Fire boy. I don't like people ordering me around, especially with that smug face of yours", she said and pushed him away as she stepped into the warp and coming back to their hideout. So much for crying. I really thought he meant it. I would have felt bad if he did, but now, I'm pissed off. It's game on, Pro Hero, Hawks.
