Chapter One
Adam POV
I was helpless again.
I swore I'd never be helpless again after what happened to me long ago.
I swore I'd get stronger so that would never happen again.
And I swore I'd make the humans pay for everything they did to me and my kind.
I managed to become one of the best warriors the White Fang had, Ive killed hundreds, if not thousands, of despicable humans, and I almost thought myself unbeatable.
But IT proved me wrong.
At first, we thought it was a unique type of Grimm, as its entire body was as black as darkness, had spikes protruding out of its body, had massive wings, an extremely muscular build, and stood over twelve feet tall.
It was too close to the base for comfort, so I gathered a few dozen men to aid me in defeating it. I wasn't fullish enough to do this on my own as from a single glace of the beast; I could tell it was powerful.
Once everyone was gathered, we thought the beast wouldn't be a threat due to our sheer numbers, but we were wrong, and underestimating it cost us significantly.
It was unlike anything we had seen before, and It looked like something straight out of your worst nightmares.
Nonetheless, we ignored the red flags as we charged at it hoping to overwhelm it with our skill, speed, and tactics. However, I heard one of my men scream at the top of his lungs as he was in a tremendous amount of pain, but his screams didn't last long as the beast's razor-sharp claw soon separated his head from his body.
Blood painted the trees, ground, and some of us.
Then strange long black tendrils came out of the ground, effortlessly capturing my people.
One of my men tried to cut the tendrils, but to their horror, it did absolutely nothing; not even a scratch could be seen.
Then the actual carnage began.
One by one, my people were slaughtered in ways that would make the worst murders in Remnants history look tame in comparison.
Our attacks didn't faze the beast no matter what we did, and the entire time, it was standing in one place watching us get slaughtered.
We were no match for this monster. I hated to admit it, but we weren't, so it only made sense to call for a retreat.
"EVERYONE RETREAT!!!" I screamed.
They ran for their lives, but it didn't matter. The tendrils grabbed them and killed them soon after, and I couldn't do a damned thing about it.
I gritted my teeth in anger. I swore if I made it out alive, I'd get stronger and avenge the fallen.
But now I must run.
And I ran as fast as I could while doing my best to ignore the screams of terror and agony.
Once I got far enough, I couldn't hear the screaming.
Now it was time to return to base. Hopefully, some made it out, but something tells me that beast was very through.
???? POV
(A few moments earlier)
I couldn't remember much after my fight with him, which had me worried as I couldn't risk letting an evil primordial being continue to grow in power.
But my ability to teleport was somehow nullified as I couldn't return to my former location, and I felt weak but was still strong enough to defend myself, so that was fortunate.
'Soul, what happened?' I asked, hoping my friend saw what happened.
[I am just as unsure as you, Im afraid.]
I sighed and sat up. I then looked to the sky to see the moon was shattered. Not the strangest thing Ive seen but interesting nonetheless. Then I looked at the rest of my surroundings and saw I was in a rainforest.
[But that is not all.]
'What else?'
[We're stuck in a different multiverse, and luckily the energy levels Im feeling our laughably weaker compared to ours.]
Usually, I'd be excited as that meant I could retire from my responsibilities, but he's still out there, causing havoc on creation.
[However, that won't remain forever as our presence here alone empowers a great evil that lurks across this planet. Sooner or later, the inhabitants won't be able to defend themselves, and an unknown entity siphoned ninety percent of our power.]
Welp, that explains why I feel so weak.
I sighed. Of course, nothing is ever easy for me.
I'll have to regain my strength all over again, which Im not looking forward to as it was an absolute pain.
'Alright, then I'll have to prepare them for the inevitable, but where the fuck do I even start?'
[I can sense an ancient magic user a great distance away, and I feel no darkness within him, so he'll be our best shot and could be a potential ally.]
'Is he the only magic user here?'
[No, but it's best to avoid her.]
'Say no more.'
When Soul says to avoid something or someone, I do it without question, as Soul's number one priority is to keep me alive at all costs.
(Present time)
'Well, that was rather rude.'
I only walked a few meters, then out of nowhere, a horde of people wearing weird-looking masks attacked me for no reason whatsoever.
But then again, my Singularity form is quite terrifying, so I don't entirely blame them for wanting to kill me on sight.
Unfortunately for them, there is nothing they can do to harm me, but there's plenty I could do to them.
I could feel their righteousness, but I looked past that and saw the innocents they killed, the children they left orphaned, and saw how they terrorized the natives of this planet, so I made them pay for their actions brutally.
I played with them a little before ending their pathetic lives, but after a while, I got bored and even let some of them escape.
They'll die eventually anyways and weren't my priority.
So with the annoyance out of the way, I began to fly toward my destination.
A few hours later
I was almost near my destination but stopped when I saw a girl's cape get speared by an oversized feather. She tried to get free, but it wouldn't have mattered as she was about to get impaled by the creature's stringer, so within a few moments, I was between her and the beast.
It thrust its stringer at me, but the moment it made contact with my body, it shattered, leaving the creature of darkness in pain.
Lucky for it, though, I didn't experience it much longer as I uppercut it with enough force to send it flying in the skies, thus killing it.
I turned around to see the girl I saved was looking at me with a terrified and mesmerized expression.
Which I couldn't blame her for as my Singularity was glorious.
Several others were also staring at me with their jaws dropped to the ground. I then look back down at the girl in red and black.
"Try not to do something stupid like that again," I said before taking off into the skies.
A moment later, I landed on the side of a cliff where an older man and woman were standing by.
"No need to be so tense," I said as the blonde woman looked like she wanted to attack me. "You did see me save one of your students, after all."
They seemed to relax a bit but were still very cautious.
"How did you know that?" She asked.
"I could sense it," I answered.
I then looked at the older man, who hadn't said a word yet.
"Now for why Im here. Im here to talk to you," I said, gesturing to the gray-haired man.
"Oh, what for?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"The fate of your world."
