Because every author needs to do their version of after "Loves fades." Rose is a little too broken after Dimitri tells her he didn't love her anymore. In an effort to piece herself back together, she breaks her promise to not leave again and takes another assignment halfway around the world.

Words are knives, and sometimes, eloquence can shatter you, not to be put back together ever again. And what ends up as broken can rarely ever form part of a whole. And I needed to let go, for him to have something better, maybe somewhere again. Rated M for violence, self-harm and language.

REPOSTED: Every year, St. Vladimir's Academy hosts a Valentine's Day competition, and Rose is eager to reclaim her crown once again since returning to the academy. This year, there's one heart that she's deadset on claiming and she will stop at nothing to win over Dimitri.

Instead of sticking around after being told Love Fades Rose is reassigned to St Basil's. So she isn't around to be accused of Tatiana's murder.
