This wasn't exactly the situation that Sarah or Tally ever thought they'd be in but here they were. Technically neither of them were in the army anymore but Petra had asked for their help in this matter. You would think that the woman who had literally helped build the United States and an ex-cadet who had her face shown all over TV for a murder she didn't committ would not be the people you would want to use for an undercover mission.
Yet here they were, posing as newlyweds moving into a house in the suburbs when in reality they were there to root out if there was the possibility of a loose Camarilla agent or two. It wasn't ideal and they weren't sure how long it was going to take. Sarah had just wanted to go in fighting but Petra was adamant about no fighting unless absolutely necessary. Witches were still trying to win the public back.
Since they had to play the part they were given wedding rings, but Sarah insisted on using her own. She had saved them from her parents' bodies before her and her sister had to flee Europe to the new world.
Petra had made sure the house was fully furnished before they moved in, everything had to look real and as unwitch like as possible. So no matter how much Sarah had wanted to shroom zoom them into the house they had to arrive by vehicle like normal civilians.
Sarah parked the car in the driveway, Tally was actually surprised she even knew how to drive and properly. She watched the gold ring on Sarah's finger as she pulled the keys from the ignition and then glanced at its matching ring on her own finger. It made her heart flutter with a feeling she wasn't ready to put a label on yet.
"Shall we?" Sarah said as she gave a small smile to Tally and then opened the door leaving Tally alone in the car.
Tally must've taken a bit too long to open the door for Sarah's liking because the older woman was opening the door and extending her hand like the gentlewoman she was and Tally took it without hesitation. Sarah leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Don't seem so down you have to play my wife, Craven. We have to make it believable," and then Sarah was leaving a kiss at her temple which stunned the young woman who stepped to the side to allow Sarah to close the door.
"Now I'll get our bags, darling, you open the house," Sarah handed her the keys and winked while she went to pop the trunk.
"Yes, dear," Tally blushed and made her way to unlock the front door.
It was a cute stereotypical suburban house, white picket fence and all that. And Petra wasn't kidding, they had fully furnished the place and even stocked the fridge for them, a bottle of whiskey sat on the counter with a note.
To the happy couple, congrats on your marriage.
-Petra
"Wow, thanks Petra," Tally laughed and set the note down on the counter.
"What does Petra have to do with this?" Sarah mumbled as she placed their bags on the kitchen floor.
"Oh, just her letter of congrats on our marriage," Tally pointed to the note on the counter and then to the bottle of whiskey, "A gift celebrating our marriage."
Sarah walked up to the counter and picked up the bottle and studied it, "Nice of her to send us a bottle from my old stash," then she set it back on the counter and took a step towards Tally who backed up into the counter with nowhere to go.
Sarah leaned in again and pressed a kiss to Tally's neck which caused Tally's knees to go weak, "Whoa," her hands flying out to clutch the counter behind her.
Sarah then whispered in her ear, "Why don't you make dinner while I check the house to make sure it isn't bugged?"
Tally nodded and Sarah smirked as she pulled back and left her standing there a rightful mess. Now Tally had to figure out what to cook, something she didn't have a lot of experience with and she wasn't even sure of Sarah's tastes in food except for nachos. But she took a closer look at what was in the fridge and luckily enough there were some premade meals already in there, with another note.
We knew neither of you could cook so here's some premade meals for you.
Better get to learning your wifey duties.
-Rae & Abs
"Hilarious, guys," Tally went straight to heating it up and decided to set the table as she waited for warmed up food and her wife to return from making sure their new home wasn't bugged by possible Camarilla agents. Just a regular day as a married couple.
They had a small kitchen table, something intimate for a couple just starting out and Tally set their plates and silverware across from each other and Tally smiled at the domesticity of it all. They weren't eating in any mess hall surrounded by other soldiers anymore. It was just them, sharing a meal together and Tally liked the thought of that as she fidgeted with the ring on her finger.
By the time Sarah came back the food was just coming out of the oven and Sarah was groaning at the smell of it. She sat at the table as Tally placed the heated food at it, "Sooo?"
"We aren't bugged, so that's a good sign. Wow, I didn't know you could cook," Sarah smiled as she went to fill her plate.
"I didn't exactly make this," Tally scoffed and sat down to join her, "Ab's and Rae left a note for us with these premade meals saying that neither of us could cook so they had a few meals left for us. They also added that we should learn our wifey duties and learn to cook."
"I might be a bit rusty but I can cook," Sarah shrugged as she started eating.
"Well, I can't not cook, I just haven't cooked a lot. It's not that hard. You can't do all the cooking, besides…" Tally blushed.
Sarah stopped mid bite, "Besides what?"
"I want to cook for you too," Tally immediately dug into her own food.
Sarah smirked, "You're very cute, Tally," then proceeded to eat again.
Tally just blushed and continued to eat her food but as it passed they found themselves indulging in small talk about what it was like to prepare and eat food when she was younger. And Tally was fascinated everytime Sarah talked about her life, she hung on every word with stars in her eyes.
When they finished Sarah went about washing the dishes and sent Tally off to take a shower. The first room she came across was empty but at the end of the hall was the master bedroom and Tally saw that Sarah had already unpacked their clothes and set them into their rightful spots. Then it dawned on her that they were going to have to share a bed and Tally gulped as she stared at the big intimidating bed.
Shower first and then worry about the bed. The bathroom was way bigger than she was expecting, way bigger than the bathroom she shared with her coven and definitely bigger than the bathroom she had living with her mom. She was going to get spoiled by this. There was a bathtub and a shower, she was definitely going to take advantage of that bath before they were done here.
She started the hot water and stripped, finding the shower already equipped with the essentials. She moaned at the smell of the shampoo she opened and put in her hair, yep definitely spoiled already. The hot water washed over her and relaxed her body like she'd never been relaxed in her whole life. By the time she was done she had completely forgotten about sharing a bed with Sarah, she walked out in nothing but a towel and was suddenly reminded of sharing the bed when she saw Sarah sitting on the bed reading a book.
Sarah looked up and placed her book on the bedside table and then proceeded to run her eyes up and down Tally's body which made Tally blush even harder. She proceeded over to the closest to find all her clothes neatly hung, "I'm sorry, I totally forgot we were going to have to share a bed. If you want I can sleep on the couch?"
She heard from right behind her, "Why would I want that?"
Tally gasped and spun around pressing her pajamas to her chest, "I, well, I didn't think you'd want to share a bed with me. I don't want to invade your personal space."
Sarah tipped her head up so their gazes would meet, "Tally, we're married now. We're meant to share a bed. But if it makes you uncomfortable then I will sleep on the couch and you can have the bed."
"No!"
Sarah's eyes went big.
"No, you don't have to sleep on the couch. You're right we're married and we need to keep up appearances. I don't mind. I just didn't want it to be awkward for you," Tally blushed still standing there in her towel.
"Why would it be awkward for me? Perhaps I'd like to share a bed with you," Sarah smirked and stepped away, "I'm going to go enjoy a shower, don't wait up."
Sarah left her standing there another flustered mess and did go enjoy her shower. Tally let out a frustrated groan as she changed into her pajamas and dried her hair and brushed it. She turned the lights off except for the one on Sarah's side of the bed and snuggled down into the blankets. And again she was going to be spoiled because it was the most comfortable and soft bed she'd ever slept on in her life.
She was so comfortable and pleased by the bed she let out a moan at the exact time that Sarah had opened the bathroom door, also dressed in nothing but a towel.
"Starting without me, darling?" a hint of humor radiating from Sarah's voice.
"It's not what you think! This is just the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on!" Tally rushed out, an absolute disaster.
Tally watched as she walked over to her side of the closet and grabbed some pajamas and simply dropped her towel causing Tally to squeak and to turn over away from her. Sarah dressed and walked to her side of the bed and turned the light off and scooted in under the blankets, "Goodnight, Tally."
"Goodnight."
She could feel her warmth radiate from across the bed and luckily for Tally the comfortableness of the bed lulled her quickly into sleep. It was Sarah who had difficulty falling asleep as she stared at the content witches back. She hoped this would be a night where nightmares didn't find her.
