Ten years ago, Shinichi had gone to see The Golden Apple with his mother, Yukiko, and his best friend, Ran. When he heard that the play would be brought on stage once again, Shinichi sighed. Last time there had been a case, so he might as well check to make sure no actresses were in love with fictional angels this time around.
Yet seeing who was acting the part of Michael made Shinichi pause. The man looked similar to him, though his hair was much messier. He had a smile on his face, and something about him…
Five years ago, Kaitou Kid had his final heist. He had destroyed the gem he had stolen and disappeared from the world of crime, though not without a final goodbye to Shinichi. The two had been close during the years they had known each other, despite being on different sides of the law. Shinichi had to admit he had grown fond of Kid, and missed him ever since.
And now, seeing that man…
The man looked at him, and a flash of recognition came through his eyes. Quickly bidding a quick farewell to his female companions, he headed over to Shinichi's direction, poofing out a rose as he did so. "Kudo Shinichi, I assume?" He asked with a grin on his face. "I'm Kuroba Kaito, and as you can see, I'm an actor and a magician."
Shinichi sighed as he took the rose. "Yes, you were one of the best and most famous around the world once."
Kaito gave him a fond smile. "Thank you. Are you here to see the show?"
Shinichi nodded. He had planned on looking for potential suspects, and he would still do that, but perhaps he could relax a bit, especially with Kaito around. "Of course."
