On the Drowsi
Drowsi are Drow-bred-so they can do things most spiders can't. They are very active for one, and possess a desire to learn. Physically, they look like wolf spiders and have 4 very good eyes that show intelligence. They don't however, just drink their prey, having what amounts to teeth behind their pincers, allowing them a range of foods. There are two 'subspecies' in the story-pure (bred with another Drowsi) and mixed (bred with tarantulas)-the Drowsi characteristics are dominant however. As of this writing there are 4 types: Arachnias, Adellus, Shimmerin, and Suranas. The first two make up the bulk of spiders, with Shimmerin having as this time 3 bonded members. Suranas is the big spiders like Surana and Tria. All spiders were found to have prints by Jade Miller.
How Arachnias came to be
Lyuna Nightstalker found an egg detached from her grouping and took it home, having to bring her out early. Baby Arachnia bit her out of fear and created their bond, the then-young Drow doing her best and the spider grew strong, having a drive to learn everything she could. Later she bred with other spiders, having clutches of 12-24 spiders at a time.
Notable Spiders
Loque
This is Gibbs' spider. Honorary Drowsi and sometimes mate to Arachnia, he has the 'Gibbs Look' perfected. He is different with Sara and Sapphire-showing the same kindness as his bonded.
Sapphire
Sara's spider. They knew each other before. Saph is a ball of fire and very in-your-face-even taking down her mate Cobalt when he acts up. She is a vocal thing too-'yelling' at Diane Sterling in Abby's lab (the deal in Devil's Triad for reference).
Rose
Abby's spider and she is the only one known to pack away the Caf-Pow. Currently unbound but is good friends with Kasie and Garnet.
Ruby
Dwayne Pride's spider-spokesspider for the Tru Tone, Ruby has her mother's spirit when it comes to cooking and is good friends with most everyone.
Cobalt
Saph's mate and bonded to Tay Mena. Mostly a laid-back attitude save with Tony DiNozzo, which caused his mate to get after him.
Pearl
Ducky's spider. She helped him and Jimmy Palmer work on bodies in autopsy and now relaxes, helping Ducky in the Historian's Office.
Star
The offspring of Saph and Cobalt and bonded to Kelly Shannon Merin-Mena (Gibbs gave his permission). She is a spitfire and is best friends with the Golden Orb Weaver Belle. She listens to Kells when she tells her something.
