Tessie Hutchinson wins the Lottery

Let's just say she wasn't too happy. . .

To everyone outside this town it was a normal sunny day, but to the people in the 300 person village it was lottery day. Now this lottery is not what you think it is. You may think this lottery is about money, well it's not, it's more about stones and sacrifice.

Now let me ask you this. . . Do you think Tessie Hutchinson deserved what she got? First, Tessie came late to the lottery just for attention. Second, she lied and said that she forgot what day it was even though it was obvious she knew what day it was. Lastly, she says that it's unfair when she wins even though for centuries people have been in the lottery. So what do you think? Do you think that Tessie deserved to be stoned or do you think it wasn't fair?

We asked Nancy Hutchinson how she felt after she watched her mother get stoned. She told us, "I can't really say much because it's tradention but I'm glad it wasn't me" We also interviewed Tessie's husband and he said, "She will be missed but at least we'll have good crop growth this year because of her sacrifice." That was all we got from her husband and child.

Readers discretion is advised: If you're wondering what stoning is then here you go. Stoning is a very brutal method of killing as the killer must be close to the victim and the death is painful and slow. Stoning as a method of sacrifice.
