Just a short little callback to v1, set in v9. Enjoy!
"Okay, we're definitely lost," Ruby announces, pushing another branch out of the way before it can hit her in the face. Behind her, she can practically hear Weiss' irritated scowl.
"We're not lost," her partner insists. "I know exactly where we're going."
"Oh, yeah?" Ruby challenges, turning around to face her. "And where's that? We fell through a gap in a place that doesn't exist anymore and ended up on some weird island. How could you possibly know where we're going?"
"We're going to—wherever the others are."
"And where's that?"
"Somewhere on this island."
"Oh, just admit that you're lost already!" Ruby exclaims, a fond smile on her face as she rolls her eyes.
"I already told you, I'm not lost. We'll stumble across Blake and Yang eventually." Weiss pushes forward confidently—although that confidence is undermined when she doesn't duck enough and gets smacked square in the face with a branch.
"You're so stubborn," Ruby mutters under her breath as she follows Weiss through the trees. She wouldn't change anything about her partner though, not for the world.
Some things will never change.
